I went to the proctor location today to return a package, provided my QR code and the owner/manager scan the code but told me that I needed a label and I needed a bag to put my package in. Mind you I came in the office with the original packaging which could have easily have been taped up and I didn't need a label on top of the QR code being scanned. However I had a much better experience when I returned back to the store upset from what the manager had just told me and a young man by the name of Luke was very helpful he scanned my QR code, he printed out my label he had fixed the label to my original packet and he was about to start taping up the original package when the manager decided to come over and help very fake Asian lady. I think she didn't help me because I was black. But again Luke was very helpful with getting my package taken care of and sent back to its original merchant unlike the Asian manager/owner there. Very helpful and friendly staff who are patient with someone needing information when sending a package. They handle overflow in the lines well. The office is well equipped for whatever type of package you need help sending. Not five star because this is the second time I've walked several blocks to the stop, took the bus, walked several blocks from the transit center, and been told "oh, the notary isn't here today, call us right before your appointment and see if he comes in". I have an appointment made previously online and the confirmation email with me. They have my phone and email and could easily have generated a message or shot me a text saying "Sorry, no notary today." After waiting around in the nearby Starbucks like some Wi-Fi scamming creeper and returning at my appointment time to check, I decided not to wait around any longer. Evidently I'm a slow learner but I get it now. If this happens to you, Key Bank a block and a half west. They take appointments but will also let you wait in a chair in the air conditioned lobby for one of the notaries to be free. They didn't even charge me and were super nice and professional. UPS is a fantastic location for sending packages, but choose another notary service. read more

They nickle and dime you for everything. I didnt print out a shipping label but had one in my email and they wanted to charge me $2.25 just to print it out. Out of principle I said no. The two employees and owner are amazing at multi-tasking, especially during the last two years with the pandemic and people with little patience. Some people are confusing this little neighborhood office with a bigger corporate location. They just are a post box and pickup. They have printers but they aren't Kinkos. Very friendly staff that are doing the best they can with Covi19 shutting major chunks of the planet down. read more

After being quoted three separate prices, I wasn't told I'd also be paying for the box and tape. Cost was almost $50 more than I was quoted. Kids working the front were nice but the boss was not helpful or considerate. Condescending and not accommodating. Your employees shouldn't be better at customer service than the owner is. read more

The store is in a great location and it's close to other shops and the post office. There is street parking and a private rear lots. In my experience, the staff members are okay at this location, they could be a lot friendlier. I paid for 40 color copies online. When I went to pick them up they were washed out and colors were yellow. I said I did not want them and wanted a refund. They refused and said they could not process online orders. The guy running the counter was apathetic and lazy. The owner was an idiot. read more

Friendly, basic services: laminating, color copies, shipping and basic printing. This location accepts your UPS returns with pre-paid labels. They also have p.o. boxes. They run a lot of specials for printing and have reasonable price breaks for big jobs. Worth a stop if you need their services. read more

Overall this store does not offer what they advertise. A brief summary of my experiences attempting to have documents notarized as advertised. May 2019 - Call phone number listed for store at 10am on Saturday. Voice recording states notary services available during business hours. At 12noon the same day, I arrive to store with my document, wait in line and request notary. Employee asks if I have appointment, which I do not. She states notary is only available by online appointment and points to a small hand written note stating this on the counter in the store. I inform her that I called and the voice recording did not state that an appointment was needed. I ask if the notary person is working now, she says yes, but that I cannot receive those services without an appointment. I ask to make an appointment and am told I cannot, that I must make one online and they are out of appointments for today. August 2019 - On a Thursday morning, I go online to the Proctor UPS store website and make an appointment for notary and receive an appointment confirmation email. The following day at 10am (my scheduled appointment time), I arrive to the store with my document. I inform the employee at the front desk that I'm there for a notary appointment. He informs me the notary is not in, and does not arrive until 11am. I provided him with my confirmation email about the appointment, and he states they no longer accept notary appointments, but that notary happens on a walk-in basis starting at 11am. This store is in a very convenient location, but its very unfortunate that they cannot offer all the services advertised in a consistent manner. In addition to never attempting to utilize their notary services again, I will also be taking all my shipping business elsewhere. read more

This place gives me the anger! I just never understand why it is such a $h#t show. The line is always long, and they never seem to have enough staff. I also feel like they scam people on pricing. My husband needed to return a jacket, and the website suggested using UPS as a preferred shipping company. We packed the jacket in a packing envelope, and headed in. We waited forever, and when it was finally our turn, the woman working (who I think is the franchise owner) measured the envelope like it was a box and charged us $22.19 for ground shipping. Being a jacket, it was a bit bulky, but weighed less then 2lbs. and could be have been squished down. We could have mailed it USPS for probably $4.00. But, by the time you finally get your turn in line, they've worn you down, and you don't have the strength to argue. I also wait in line, secretly cringing at the prices they are quoting people. I want to yell out, "don't do it!". I had to go mail UPS today (for free returns, so I knew they couldn't over charge me). The line was out the door, with one person working (who was busy being a notary). Like I said, $h#t show! From now on, I'll just wait for Monday and mail UPS from work. Don't go here! The staff at this store has always been very patient and helpful. I was there today, 5 days before Christmas, and they were, of course, busy. They were friendly and helpful to each person they worked with and got through the line as quickly as possible. I've sent a lot of Amazon returns back with this location and have never had an issue. read more

I was not home to receive my package, so instead of coming back or dropping it off at my nearest ups store, they dropped it off at a 7 eleven, not just any one but one in the getto. Cool. Not only that I had to search for it, because the driver can't spell and his or her hand writing was so awful I couldnt read it. Get your sh*t together. This store always has a line, and it takes an age to get to the front of it. With Amazon returns, be aware of that, even if you don't have a box, they will charge you for tape. That's right... tape for the nonexistent box. They also have a size limit. If your item is too tall, they're going to charge you for that even though it's a packageless return. If you do bring a box, and it's too big so you pull the item out, you have to take your box with you. They will not recycle it. From now on, I'm going to drive the extra mile to take my packages to Pearl Street. Hopefully they're better there. I'm not going back to this store. read more

My heart is aching. Ten boxes arrived on time. All of the boxes were busted at the corners and three of them had entire sides open to the elements. One was sopping wet( delivered under cover and I was home). Family heirlooms with little monetary value but a great deal of personal value were broken, even crumbled, inside balls of bubble wrapped wrapped in blankets. Customer service at the corporate office was only interested in having me do a lot of paperwork, not on fixing the problem. They blamed the local office. read more

Over the years the service has been spotty at best. Very recently I emailed a small print order. I asked a friend to pick it up--he said the line was out the door and left. I went in the next day. As is typical, they had not done it, nor could they find it in their emails. I left, resent the order. My wife picked it up and brought it home. They had botched it. Their customer service is remiss at best and they seem to be simply grossly mismanaged. Finished the order at Office Depot: Great experience there. They completed the order, sent me a text saying so, and I picked it up with no wait and a smile. No more UPS for me. read more

This place is everything you could want when it comes to a shipping store. The employees are fast, knowledgable, and very pleasant. I came in to ship six packages, to all different areas of the country. All I had was the contents, they packaged them for me and offered me all their counter space to get contents seperated into their respective piles. Also, they are practitioners of the fine art of multitasking! Without making anyone wait while they did so, they were great at completing parts of shipping orders while starting to help the next customer in line. They even have their own parking lot. The one thing I can see them improving on would be posting prices so you can make decisions about shipping methods/ box sizes, etc. before going up to the counter. read more

I made an almost fatal mistake at least for my bicycle. I asked if UPS can ship my bike and was assured it could be done. I brought the bike in and got that look that should have alerted me to not leave it there. In hindsight, I should have just kept that $80 bike rack and drove my bike back to NJ. $221.75 later, my bike arrived over 2 weeks later, one of the pedals was sticking out of the box and the rear brake cable does not work. Off to a local bike shop to spiff up my bicycle. Warning to anyone thinking of shipping through a UPS Shipping store: get a rack or get a real bike box. I take full responsibility for my faux pas but it would have been nice to get some money back just for the sheer fact they truly don't ship bicycles and that it was over 2 weeks by the time I received it. Stick to small items too. Too much of that packing popcorn. read more

This place just screwed me and harmed my credit rating with two credit card companies. How you ask? Well after a year of renting a mail box they decided to start throwing my mail and credit card bills into the trash. And never told me. I got a call from a credit card company saying my payment was past due, and I realize "Holy Crap, now that I think about it I haven't gotten a bill lately." After ruling out some kind of mail theft, I went to the store twice in one week . The first time I asked if my mail could have been missorted. No I was told no. I also asked if someone else had the same last name. Without looking in any record book the person said "On no, I know you and you are the only person with that last name." I went back everyday for a week then after getting a call from a second unpaid credit card company I drove up and asked more forecefully what was happening to my mail. Well, apparently my one year rental payment lapsed and they did not tell me. They claim that the store policy is to put a reminder notice in the renters mail box and to do that multiple times. And the policy is to also call by phone. I was checking my box every week, usually on Saturday, and I never got a reminder. I never got a phone call. Now I could understand somebody wanting to screw me if I was a loud mouthed drunk causing problems. But I am a relatively quiet, gray haired sixty year old man. Like I said, I moved to Tacoma about a year ago from Seattle. I rented a mailbox in Seattle from the same UPS store in Fremont for about 12 years. Never a problem. I was naive because I had such a great experience in Seattle. But my first clue should have been to look around the store to see how messy it was. It is a disaster area. They screwed me with their incompetence. Any you know the worst part? I had to turn around and renew my box just to cover the time period that it would take to make other arrangements. read more

I am from California, and I purchased a large, heavy piece of fitness equipment in the Seattle area. I flew up to take it to the Tacoma UPS Store, who assured me they could ship it, providing each box would weigh below 150 lbs. I had been told the weight was significantly less than it actually weighed at the UPS store, but two employees helped me disassemble it into pieces that were under their weight limit. They packed it the next business day, and all 208 pounds in three boxes arrived by ground in two days in perfect condition due to the excellent packing.. Knowing it was going to be very heavy, Mr. Troutman came into the office on his day off to meet me and help me unload it into their store; and he waited two hours for me top arrive due to some delays with my lost baggage at the airport. All of the people in the UPS Store are very competent, courteous, and helpful. I highly recommend the Tacoma UPS Store and UPS shipping too; I could not have been treated better, and neither could my equipment that they shipped. read more
