This all started when I was looking for a local place to have a pair of shorts altered for my son. He just wanted the waist brought in a couple inches without losing the shape or the width of the legs. I received a call that they were done within a couple days. This was fantastic because they had quoted me almost a week. When I gave them to my son, he pointed out that they had put some drastic pleats in the back that made it look like he was wearing a diaper. There was no way to wear the shorts without them looking ridiculous. I went back the next day to point out that the alterations were done very poorly, and showed the girl how it looked like diaper butt. She apologized and said she had to talk to a manager about getting me a refund or having them redone. After waiting to hear back for several more days with no call, I went back in to pick up the shorts. The initial alterations were removed and the shorts were back to their original state or as closely as they could be. There was a piece in the back that had been cut out and replaced with other jean material. At this point I told them I wanted a refund since my shorts hadn't been altered in the way that I had requested and this had become a huge waste of time on my end. The girl told me I had to leave the shorts there and fill out a claim request to get my money back. (I had to leave the shorts there so they could determine whether or not the claim was valid. That made no sense since they had already reversed the alterations at this point.) I asked if I would receive a call when I could come get my shorts and my refund and she assured me that they would call me within the next day or two. It has now been a week since then, no call. I just went to pick up my shorts and my refund. I was told I would not be getting refund today, they would be mailing me a check. This entire process has been roughly 3 weeks long with four trips to and from their store. I will never use them for anything and highly recommend you don't either. If I can update this, I will let you know how long it takes for that refund to show up in the mail. read more

November 2025, I believe , my mother and I dropped off my GRANDMOTHERS wedding dress; to be cleaned. This dress was an OFF WHITE, leaning too almost YELLOW! The first time they did AMAZING and the price was fair(220$). After my wedding June 2026, I had my mother take the dress back( I wore my grandmothers dress) to be cleaned because of a spill that happened during the reception. They did not disclose to my mother that since we had last used their 'services' that they DOUBLED their prices(442$) This was irritating to find out through an invoice that they sent when they notified me it was ready for pickup.I had my mother call to question this crazy increase and the lady was horribly rude to my mother, claiming that she discussed the price with me?!? At drop off! A flat out lie. (AGAIN, MY MOTHER ALONE DROPPED IT OFF) When I went to pick up the dress, I unbuttoned the cover and at first glance, it looked okay. I saw the original stain but, what can you do, the did say that it was a possibility that they couldn't get it all the way out. Upon further inspection and better lighting when I got home, I noticed that they must've bleached? the dress. It is two toned, splotchy and they made the whole situation worse. Granted it is harder to see the original stain, because of the splotchy two toned new bleach / chemical stains that are now covering parts of it up. read more

Where do I begin with this...I brought in 3 pairs of jeans to be hemmed and the older asian seamstress sized me in all of them. I'm then told that it would be $35 PER HEM - A NORMAL HEM - as she took them off me and said she just raised her rates last week. So now I'm not even considering an original hem because theyre already price gouging. Then when i pick up the clothing the hems are literally all wrong. One is uneven, one hem is invisible, and the other had a hem with the wrong stitching color and a 4iINCH HEM LINE. I brought them back reasonably upset for the $115 in hemming (for pants i was gifted for christmas mind you) and when I asked them to be fixed, the seamstress -Denied it was her -Ultra defensive -Laughed at my concerns, repeatedly -Tried to tell me that the hem is just fine -The counter worker was visibly annoyed at the seamstress's reaction, and offered to have them done at a different location in Seattle and only then the seamstress jumped up to grab them and said she could do it I flat out asked her "have I done something to you? Because I dont know why you're being so rude about this." With the help of whoever was working the counter I had them set up a repair. And after two regular wash cycles these pants look terrible. Ruffling hem seams, loose threads, one pair point out like triangles when I sit down. One pair you can see line of the first wrong hem. One pair were already floods out the gate when i picked it up I just didn't want to deal with this anymore. Down to the service I received and price I was charge I would steer anyone away from this location, or at least this seamstress. Super insulting, and now I dont even feel comfortable wearing these jeans. read more

Update: After sharing my initial review, New Era reached out and resolved the issue. As I mentioned before, I've always been impressed with the quality of their work and how easy they are to work with, which is why this change was so disappointing at first. After speaking with their team, they corrected the pricing and charged the appropriate amount for the repairs. Spoke to them on Thursday and made a plan to see the seamstress on Monday.When I got there., I was informed that she wouldn't be in until the afternoon and that I would have to come back. The problem is that we had already discussed on Thursday why I had to bring it in the morning and a plan was made. I had to find someone else to do the work last minute and they pretty much wasted 3 days. To make matters worse, they didn't even acknowledge it or try to make it right. I had a leather skirt cleaned. It was very expensive to have cleaned. It came back just as dirty as when it arrived.

I had two pair of trousers hemmed at New Era and the quality and service were perfect.

Crappy service, EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE!!!! $40+ for pants?! It's cheaper in New York! Do t waste your money.

Service is super friendly and efficient. Ask for Connie or Tess. They have an abundance of knowledge on cleaning stains and suggesting helpful repairs that are worth the effort. They're also great with service uniform standards. read more

Not sure what has happened here. I've been a customer for more than a decade but now have been told that they will no longer put the collar stays in my shirts, and this despite charging $7.00 per shirt. In 30 years of having my dress shirts professionally laundered I've never been handed a pile of collar stays taped to a receipt. When I asked the employee about this new practice, she told me that it's how it's always been done.....huh? It's like asking the customer to bring his own hangers. I read the reviews and called ahead for pricing. Everyone is right.... Pricing here is INSANE! Not sure how this place can stay in business? Perhaps a cover? For example, 1 shirt to launder = $6.95. That is what most places charge to dry clean!!! And that's on the high end! Do yourself a favor and place a few calls before choosing your dry cleaners. You will save at least 60% off your annual dry cleaning bill simply by avoiding this place. read more

Been here a few times over the years. Good service and cleaning is often done ahead of schedule. They even mended a loose tag on my sweater for me at not extra charge. Only gripe is that they don't post rug cleaning fees, and staff don't seem to know them either. I'd think that kind of info should be readily available. read more

First time to this dry cleaner (and yes, it is this exact location - I live nearby), they lost one of my husband's shirts. When he went to pick up the others, they told him that one did not make the truck, but would be on the next delivery. I went to pick up the next delivery, and was told they could not find the shirt, but should come back, and that the owner would make it right. They said that usually the names were written on the shirts, so they wouldn't get lost. Our name is on the inside of the shirt from our former - wonderful - dry cleaner (too far away to go there, now.) I returned after about a week; still no shirt. I asked what would happen as we needed that shirt and was it lost forever? She said no, it was just lost in transit somewhere. I asked how it would be amended, and she said there was nothing she could do just then. Not apologetic or kind in any way. Husband went to pick up final order tonight and was told that a check was in the mail, but that he should be aware that his wife was rude. I did not raise my voice, use poor language, or was anything other but politely, but persistently, inquiring about our lost garment. The manager never did get in touch. Really poor customer service - and we still have no shirt. Have heard wonderful things about 15th Street Drive-in Laundry, and will try that next. read more

This place has gone downhill and they raised the prices. There is new staff and our favorite woman is no longer there. I received coupons in the past and they not only didn't redeem it, but charged me more than I had paid in the past. I had a shirt with a note to sew not clean and they cleaned it and charged me and then after asked to sew it the second time, charged me for that also. I'm going back to Morrells. They have great staff, service and prices. They are locally owned. I loved the delivery service. They have great technology and I have never had a problem. I wish I still worked near there. This is a very reliable and friendly dry cleaning business. Located on Proctor St. in the community of Proctor. Employees are very friendly a d caring. My clothes are always clean and Never damaged. Special care for dress shirts were a bit difficult to receive because, my understanding is they send garments downtown to be done and the attention to detail is not controlled from proctor. It took some time but they do a nice job now. I do recommend them. read more

I dropped off four cotton blend sofa pillow covers each measuring 20" x 12". There were no visable stains or odors on any of these, I just wanted to freshen them following the holidays. The cost of standard process was not mentioned nor did I think to question a flat piece job like this. When I picked up the covers today, the total bill was just over $131or $29 + tax for each cover! It was jaw dropping and more than I had originally paid for the covers purchased new two years ago! There's simply no justification for this inflated price. Incredibly rude counter person. I will never go back. I have been there twice and the same employee was was again very rude. If you're looking for decent service I would stay away from the business. I had absolutely no problem with the price and have paid more in the past for similar services. It's good to hear that you did speak with your employee but, that is not how the situation plaid out. Update: I would not bring my clothes back to this business. It took me 15 minutes to get the stains out of the shirt they pressed and put in a bag and charged me for. I could 100 percent tell by the way your manager handled it, that I am not your first angry customer. We can go back and forth. I don't want my clothes sloppily rewashed by you. I want people to know that things weren't right and that you are over charging for bad service. I have gone to another cleaner for 15 years as I am brand loyal. We tried New Era because our GREAT cleaners decided to retire. Worst mistake ever. I average about $75 and for less items my bill came to $172. Two shirts came back that do not look or smell like they were laundered at all. One shirt I pointed out stains, was told no problem, and that shirt came back with all the stains. The sweaters were not shaved. Literally the worst set of cleaning I have ever picked up. Poor management response. If I could give less than a 1 rating I would. If you are a customer, please know you are paying way too much for a business with little pride in their work. read more

Fast (same-day hemming of pants) and friendly but WOW I didn't expect a simple straight hem to cost $26+tax. I asked how much laundering a shirt is - it's $6. I know it's 2022 and inflation is a million percent but those are some eye-watering prices (to me at least). read more

First time customer and went here on recommendation from a friend. I was over charged $10.75 for an item I didn't drop off. Their computers were down, so had to go get cash to pay for my items. I wasn't offered a discount, and just offered a credit of 10.75 towards my account after paying $62 for 2 jackets and a pant. I had a $130 bill for 7 items. $25 a dress $14 for a women's shirt (quite certain a men's shirt is 1/2 the price). I will never use this cleaner regardless of how close and convenient they are. I highly recommend New Era! Charlene, the manager, was very accommodating when I called about laundry services. This was a large order and she committed to having it all done in 1 1/2 days. Since writing my first review I spoke with Sari the district manager of New Era cleaners and he was very sympothetic and apologetic for both the way I was treated by the manager of the Proctor location as well as for the fact that my dress had been so badly damaged. It made me feel a lot better to be treated like a valued customer and he took full responsibility for the damages in time for me to have my dress repaired for the wedding. In addition to making sure I would be able to wear my dress for the wedding he also wrote me a very thoughtful note again stating how sorry New Era was and that I was still a valued customer. Because of the level of accountability and personal touch I will continue to take my cleaning and repaiirs to New Era. read more

Long Story Short: Don't take any expensive clothing to New Era! Cheap items only (if that). A somewhat disappointing attempt at a dry cleaners. In addition to the questionably inflated pricing, New Era management doesn't understand how to take care of high quality clothing. In dropping off a silk shirt for dry cleaning, I was surprised to find that the back of the shirt had been pierced with a needle (used to tag each item after the wash), leaving a rather large, unsightly hole in the back of the piece. While tagging clothing with needles isn't uncommon, it should NEVER been done on silk, viscose, or any thin type of material, as a small hole can compromise the entire fabric. This is Dry Cleaning 101, and New Era's failure to realize this speaks poorly to their training and knowledge of how to take care of sensitive fabrics. The individuals I interacted with at New Era were nice, albeit not particularly knowledgeable. They don't know why their policies are the way they are, but they are unwilling to deviate in order to care for more sensitive articles of clothing. In this sense they are a akin to hamsters running endlessly on an exercise wheel. AVOID! They do not know how to care for clothing. read more

Believe the reviews. 20 dollars to hem 1 pair of pants and they couldn't get it right. They are slow on return time of your items in comparison to smaller dry cleaners and the staff wants to argue that they are right not the Custer is always right. I will absolutely "Not" be returning to New Era. I would rather drive the 3 miles out of my way than suffer this company and their employees arrogance. After discovering the back of my closet had developed a mildew issue, I discovered one of my suit jackets had also taken on a very serious mildew issue. When I took the jacket in they were very honest that there may be permanent damage, but they would do what they could. A few days later I received an email saying my jacket was ready and when I picked it up it was as good as new! I will be using New Era in the future! read more

Took a romper I purchased here to get the zipper replaced... price was fine, but they told me it would be done within two days and it wasn't. I was going back to college and needed it for my sorority rush week and didn't get it in time. When I got home from winter break, the zipper they added to it was so long that you could see the end of it hanging down underneath the shorts! I couldn't even cut it or anything so now the romper is totally ruined. I live literally blocks from this place, they are a complete waste of time and money. read more
