We actually love going there, both for the great services they have and mainly because of the guy that usually is working there during the weekdays. Last time I had to print something, I couldn't get my crappy phone to upload the document to their kiosk and I have a high stakes presentation today. You don't necessarily expect a lot when you go to a UPS store, and this one is already unique in that it offers notary public services on the weekend (so that you don't have to be gouged by private notaries), and so we have been grateful simply for that availability. Today we returned to start the paperwork for filing a name change petition for my transgender son, a process that has been a long time in coming for everyone in the family. Not only was Tom sensitive to the emotional situation, but he carefully corrected our paperwork so it things wouldn't go wrong down the line, treated us with the utmost respect, and in the end refused to take payment for his services, in support of our son. Terrific location right in the middle of Newtonville, I have brought packages in a few times over the last few months and it is so quick and easy. If anyone wants to ever study how to do customer service I suggest spending a little time with Tom and his team. We've been going through the process of getting Canadian passport photos which seems like a simple thing but the process and specifications are different for Canada. After the Canadian government rejected our photos because we made a mistake in how we labelled them we had to go back. Tom was helpful as ever, but his internet was down because of construction in a building next to him so he wasn't bale to get the specs right. But we soldiered on, took the photos and I sent them off UPS to Canada (not cheap). Imagine my shock and delight when I received a note from Tom a few hours later that he double-checked the photos when he got his internet back and realized he got a measurement off. So he reprinted the photos, stamped and dated them as per Canadian guidelines and sent a second UPS package to Canada free of charge (again, not cheap) I spent about 30 minutes in that store between the 2 passport experiences and I shouldn't have been surprised Tom did this. With every customer interaction he brings diligence and attention to detail. By correcting an error that was not his he put me, the customer first and because of it, he has a customer for life! Go there for all your small business and personal needs and you won't be disappointed. read more

He apologized profusely and offered compensation that was more than generous. He also indicated the store would use much stronger packaging for rolled artwork in the future. Seems a little crazy to Yelp a UPS Store, but stick with me because this is the best UPS Store in the entire country. Nay, world. I started a small business several years a go, and Tom and his team have stuck by me throughout the whole process. I almost think of Tom as a coworker because without him, my company wouldn't be where it is today. He has personally helped me load / unload hundreds of pounds of inventory per week, has stayed open late and opened early to receive shipments, given me advice on my business and helped us grow to what we are today. Truthfully, I could just as easily have my shipments picked up by my UPS driver, but I don't think I will anytime soon. Very grateful this UPS store is in my neighborhood. I have my options of USPS, FedEx, and UPS and I've tried them all, but Tom's Team's customer service is lightyears ahead of the competition. Once cloning is OK'd by the White House, I'd suggest replacing every UPS Store manager with a Tom. Great Attitude, Great Work Ethic, and a shining beacon of a good guy. read more

I always get the best service at this location from the Manager Tom. He is professional, efficient, knowledgeable, patient and dare I even say overqualified. I recently had an issue with something I was sending that I called about and even as I could hear multiple customers needing help in the background he stayed with me, offered multiple possible solutions, even went as far to go back and watch the video of when I dropped the package off to be able to find it in the system and give me the info I needed. Without getting into the realms of medical misadventures, political positions, or interplanetary invaders, try to picture a really scary situation. I'm not sure it would be scarier than my having been tasked to relocate my late Aunt Lilly's presumed-valuable items from Auburndale, MA to Baltimore, MD. I hadn't seen these belongings even when she was last alive 21+ years ago, as she died before de-cluttering. After some years, her belongings moved from the house in Squantum to a cramped apartment in Auburndale, as Aunt Lilly's friend, house-mate, and primary original-heir scaled down with age. Over the past weekend and into Monday, Tom sorted and packed the items at Aunt Lilly's friend's apartment, and on Monday evening the 13 boxes began their UPS-Ground journey. Today (which is Wednesday) the UPS truck arrived and the driver wheeled out 13 boxes in two dolly-loads from the familiar brown truck, as I hoped I wasn't being too corny in contemporaneously humming "Hello, dolly." The boxes were of all shapes and sizes, though mostly in a manageable (for me) weight range of 12-15 pounds, which made it really easy to place everything downstairs. And so here I am, privileged to thank Tom publically for having turned the scariest of propositions into a successful collaboration. He demonstrated that he can be trusted in a situation where it would have been pretty simple to steal some property, or to create more shipping costs than necessary, or even to suggest excessive insurance coverage. I hope that I will meet him one day so that I can thank him in person. He really did keep his word that he would treat the property as if it had been his own! read more
