It's a bit small so there may be a wait some days during the prime dinner hours. It seats 20 people indoors and a few outside at 2-tops. They offer a variety of beverages, snacks and other to-go items. They also offer cooking classes. The black bean burger is made from scratch and it is quite good, if just a bit bland. Adding hummus to it though is a good option. The veggies and bread that come with it are quality. The purple cabbage has be sauteed I guess and was essentially flavorless. The wraps are large, and nicely grilled. The location is a bit out of the way, which is unfortunate for them, and is tucked away in a nondescript strip mall. I will willingly go out of my way for a decent vegetarian restaurant, but not when they have questionable business practices. We drove about a half hour to get to this location, spent a few minutes perusing the menu, then ordered. That's when we were informed that they don't accept credit cards. We literally had no cash (well, I think I might have had $1.00), so the cashier explained their 'ATM option'. He said we could run it on our credit card, so my husband attempted to do this. You still needed to punch in a PIN, and we had no clue what our PIN was because we never use our credit card this way. My husband asked the cashier what he should punch in, and the cashier rather condescendingly responded that even credit cards have PINs. So, we voided that transaction and pulled out our debit card. Mind you there is a $2.00 fee for any transaction, and you have to withdraw a rounded amount like $20 or $10 and then the cashier gives you change. Other commenters seem to feel similarly - accepting credit cards and their associated fees is a necessary cost of doing business; passing this cost on to your customers with this mandatory $2 fee (unless you have cash) is unacceptable. I will not return. Besides the shady ATM fees, the water was served lukewarm in plastic cups with no ice. There is a limited eat-in area with about six tables. One wall of the restaurant is devoted to displaying antiques. The food itself was just okay. My husband had the Vegetarian Philly, which comes with Tofurkey deli slices. Loved the food, but share Steph B.'s assessment on the payment systems. Ridiculous. And it does not help that the fly-by-night ATM system they use for card payments is iffy enough that it charges you, then your bank charges you, too. When I noted that it was a silly approach, I got a lecture on how the owner "doesn't believe in credit" and how other options have been hacked. To be fair, they were ready to let us bring in payment the next day. I had the sampler plate, sis had the veggie philly. Both were quite good. Prices seem fine/fair. It was weird, being from Colorado, to eat Boulder quality veggie food in this little corner of Ohio, complete with oddball country kitsch with hippy touches. Don't go without cash. read more

I ordered the veggie / Tofurky steak hoagie minus the cheese. The menu says it has green peppers, onions and mushroom which sounds great. The execution on this was really poor. The first attempt came out with cheese and the owner? Gladly took it back to remake. The second sandwich came with what appears to be over fried (almost crunchy) light brown tofurky sandwich meat and almost no peppers, onions or mushrooms. At $9 I certainly expected more especially, with all the awards that they have on the wall. I might be back but would definitely order something else. read more

It figures that I would find a tasty vegetarian place in Loveland OH less than a week before I move to Missouri. Apparently this place has been around for years. At least 2008, maybe 2007 even? So either I haven't been going into the heart of Loveland enough, or I'm just not that observant. Probably some combination of both. The guy behind the counter was super helpful without making me feel like an idiot visiting a restaurant for the first time. (Even though I was.) I went with the Veg Wrap, and got the vegan option, so no meat, and the ranch was swapped out for some sort of orange tofu vinaigrette. Which was AMAZING. Even if you eat dairy, I'd recommend doing the switch, the dressing was so good and complimented the flavors so well. I would also like to point out (and emphasize, even), that on a technical level, this wrap was probably the best I've had. The way it was folded and presses, and then wrapped in paper made it impossible for it to fall apart. I didn't have to worry about the contents falling out and spilling all over me. The one (and only) minor downside to the wrap was that it did seem to have a bit of the 'Chipotle burrito' syndrome, in that sometimes it felt like different ingredients were bunched together, so I'd get a bite full of rice, then a bite full of beans, etc, rather than a nice consistent mix. The biggest downside to this place is they don't accept credit cards. Now, they do have a cashless ATM, which is better than nothing, but keep in mind if you use it, that's an additional $2 you're spending. For people like me who have student loans to pay off, that makes a big difference. So in short: Go here! Eat their delicious (and award winning*) foods, but remember to bring cash! *They've won best wraps and best vegetarian in Cincinnati multiple years in a row. read more

I typically get the black bean burger but wanted to switch it up a bit. I also overheard the owner talking about meals for various preschools in the neighborhood! I am always on a quest for vegetarian restaurants, and if you are near Cincinnati, OH, and are looking for a good sandwich shop, then this an excellent place to stop! The food here is fresh and unique, and I ordered the burger, which was excellent. I had seen the review the night before when I came into town, but they are typically open during lunch hours. I know they also provide lunches to various schools in town, but I have to say that the overall experience was very pleasant! Definitely recommend! Ok, I'm a meatatarian, so what do I have to say about this place?! It's GOOD! Great atmosphere, family owned and operated, full recycling, and a good selection of scratch made food! My favorite is the 'Za', it's a super thin and crispy pizza made on a whole wheat shell! I always ask for feta on mine, and it's delicious. They also have tasty wraps with a choice of fillings, served with crunchy kettle chips. The hummus is some of the best I've had, and I usually enjoy their soups also, just ask what they have that day. On the way out, try to chocolate cardamom bar or take home some granola. Very strange setting, but I liked it. Just tell them you've never been here before and they will walk you through the menu. I got a great curry hummus wrap with rice, veggies, ranch dressing, yum! The hummus was awesome, I am not always a fan of really strong curry, but this wasn't too strong. It was grilled and served warm. It's served with chips and a side of cabbage, and unfortunately I wasn't a fan of the cabbage, but a friend of mine who works nearby says she loves it, so to each his own. Hubs (Serious beef eater) got the veggie burger and had very good things to say about it! He jokes that he only went here because I caught him in a weak moment when he needed a lift somewhere in Loveland, but he admitted that he liked the veggie burger. It was very well seasoned. A meat free meal definitely makes me feel good every so often (even though they offer chicken and beef on the menu), so I will absolutely go back. read more

Um... what even is this place? The menu is super weird. The item descriptions don't make clear whether an item comes with meat or if it's just an option available to add on, which prevented me from ordering quite a few things, as the teenage cashier didn't seem like she would be much help. And the selection is just really random. For example, the "Curry Hummus Za" is described as having "garlic olive relish, ranch dressing and mozzarella cheese." OK, so... is there any curry on it? Or hummus? And if so, having all those things on one pizza would be totally gross, right? I ended up getting the Multi Grain Za with a few toppings, including tofu, which turned out to be a mistake. The tiny square pieces of tofu tasted weird and seemed really pointless, and the whole entree was really unremarkable. My dining companion's black bean burger was decent, but the bun tasted cheap, like Kroger generic brand cheap. But I haven't even gotten to the reason I'm giving this place one star. The payment situation is RIDICULOUS. Look, I know credit card processing is expensive, but it's part of the cost of doing business and of getting more people to buy your stuff. That said, if you're going to be cash only, be cash only. Don't use some weird debit card processing machine that is ACTUALLY AN ATM. Yes: to pay for our meals with a debit card, I had to run my card through this terminal, agree to a TWO DOLLAR SERVICE FEE (plus an out-of-network ATM charge from my bank!), and "withdraw" not the amount of purchase, but the amount of purchase rounded up to the next $5, as that is how ATMs work and this machine is a weird ATM that's being passed off as a legitimate payment form. (You then get change back.) Seriously, is this even legal?! Ugh. Never again. read more

Places like this make me all warm inside. Vegan and vegetarian friendly food in a down home kitschy environment. I can only think to describe it as warm and cozy, almost magical. It reminds me of being at my grandparent's house as a little girl, because they are antique collectors. It might not be for everyone but for me they really got it right. Veggie burgers and homemade chips are to die for. Great soda options. Friendly staff. I'll be sad that I can't visit this place anymore when I move. This is truly homemade food. This is my favorite place to eat. It's my two teenage daughters favorite as well. We have always loved the chicken hummus wrap but I have also had the black bean burger and the pizza. They are all delicious. You won't be disappointed. They are only open a few hours a day because they serve healthy lunches to preschool for their main source of income. I was actually really surprised by how good this place is! A nice, local, vegetarian hub that has plenty of options to choose from! The customer service was good, and the food was very very tasty! My friend and I both got a wrap, mine with the black bean burger and hummus... I highly recommend it! The prices are doable, and the atmosphere is interesting, I'll say. Its a small family run business, nice place for lunch with a strange looking but not too weird ambiance decorated with antiques . We went there with a party of 8 and there was enough room for us to enjoy our meal. I ordered the Veg Head wrap with Black bean, Curry Hummus, Chicken and it was very delicious. Their portion sizes are perfect for lunch. They have good selection of vegetarian options too which is rare to find. Almost every one was satisfied with their food and left happy and satisfied. The only thing that annoyed me was there is no free water with the meal, you have to purchase bottled water for $1.00. The least I expect from a restaurant is to give me water for free if I eat there, its not too hard to have a fountain or even serve tap water, hence the 4 stars. read more

They are known for their wraps, and as they will tell you, they continue to win awards for their kitchen cleanliness. Interesting decor on the inside of the place - an antique feel - but doesn't exactly scream "clean." We haven't ventured too terribly much outside of the typical dishes. Finally checked out the Veg Head recently after always driving by it and not being very sure if it was open. The atmosphere was quite unique with limited seating. The food was good. I got the veggie burger and it was one of the top veggie burgers I have had in a long time it came with 2 sides (chips and cabbage) which were just okay. My main reason for this rating was the payment method! They "take" credit cards and I really say this loosely.... The payment system is borderline ridiculous if you have a debit card be prepared to have to use an ATM to essentially withdraw money, take a $2.00 surcharge, plus whatever your bank charges for outside ATM fees! Then you get change from your transaction from the difference. I mentioned all of the easy methods out there to process credit cards and the girl behind the counter stated this was the owners way of avoiding the credit card fees! So apparently passing on the charges to their customers 10 fold seems like a better idea? This alone just really left a bad taste in my mouth and if I have cash I may consider this place again but it won't be at the top of my list! read more

Fortunately I don't live in Loveland (sorry, kids), however my parents do. So during a recent visit I suggested we try the only veg restaurant I was able to find in the area. The menu is on the small side however each dish we tried returned delicious results. My 1/2 black bean 1/2 hummus wrap was a change from what I normally eat at veg restaurants and my mom wouldn't shut up about how good the soup was. It was a bit salty for my taste but she adored it. Even my carnivorous old man was able to enjoy a chicken sandwich while the herbivores had their moment. While on the small side, it's a good starting off point for such a small community. The gentleman who took our order was also the one who prepared the food and served us. My only complaint was he seemed a bit stand-offish when we arrived which didn't really add up to me. I couldn't tell what his deal was but then again it wasn't like we were dining with him. All the same, a positive attitude goes a long way...especially for first time customers. All in all this place gets the job done. I hope their business prospers and they're able to expand and move to a larger and more open location. Just so we're clear, this place is TINY. I wouldn't mind seeing more options on the menu either (more vegan as well) but I suppose for a new and small business, it's just right. read more

Tried it on a whim since I was wanting some lighter food for a warm day. Only a few tables (more geared for take-out I'd guess), but very clean and friendly. I had the wrap with curried hummus and black beans. Very good and very filling. It came with chips (which were good) and warm cooked cabbage (it was OK). My partner, who is not into veg food at all, had the chicken salad. He really liked it and I can say my sample was very good as well. read more
