Had lunch here last Saturday. Had the Blackened Chicken Tacos and they were good. Nice to have a choice of either flour or corn tortillas! On the other the black bean and corn salad was pretty bland. Out sever did a nice job very efficient and friendly. I would have given this a 3.5 off that was the option so the over all they currently showing isn't far from that. read more

We went to Kings island for the Winter Wonderland event. My fiancée was craving pizza and I was looking for nearby locations in the area. This came up and had great reviews on Yelp. They had me at wood fired pizza! You know I'm going! This was a late dinner so their dinner rush thinned out. The inside is very inviting, spacious and cozy. Menu was very impressive. Wood fired pizza (which you can choose traditional, gluten free or cauliflower crust), appetizers, wings, soup of the day, pasta, salads, sides, sandwiches, burgers, tacos, wraps, and seafood. Drink menu is also good. Bourbons, beers on tap, wine and specialty cocktails. We ordered: Drinks: -Cincy light on draft -House Red (red blend) Dinner: Wood fired Pizza -Margherita Pizza -Pepperoni Pizza We didn't wait long for our meal. It was delicious! I loved my pizza paired with my wine. My fiancée also enjoyed his dinner. I got another glass of wine and watched some football. Ryan was our server. Very friendly and attentive. Very good food but terrible service. Ordered second drinks near start of entrees. Server was nowhere to be found. Asked another about our drinks but they did nothing. Drinks didn't arrive till after we were finished eating. Server just laughed and said they all weren't at the bar the first time she checked. read more

I am going to be back to this place for sure. Every appetizer on the menu looks delicious. We tried the spinach app, and it was scrumptious. The tomatoes looked fresh. The spinach was flavorful, and the cheese was broiled to perfection crispy on top. I also had the margarita pizza, which was even delicious as next day leftovers. It was a perfect blend of cheese and sauce. It was a lunch workday so I didn't try the local beer brews, but the assortment looked interesting and local. Our service was perfect. We needed time for checking out a new menu and our server checked in the appropriate times. There is an outside patio that has heaters so even eating outside through the Fall looks to be fun. What was once a fabulous experience/food last time we visited, fell extremely FLAT on this visit. Service was slow, management seemed to only roll her eyes at her staff/ speak negatively and food was just average. My son's buffalo wrap was terrible and I was charged for a beer we never rec'd. I also witnessed the blonde hair manager take a bottle and throw it in anger after speaking to one of her male employees. Have eaten here 3 or 4 times.It has always been a pleasant experience. Today we were here for lunch. Our server was Amy, one of the nicest servers we have ever encountered locally. She was very attentive and personable, and since it was quiet, she stopped at the table to talk to us for a few minutes. We shared an order of pretzel bites which was generously sized. I also had a salad, a fish sandwich and a bowl of chili. The chili was one of the best I've ever had in this area. They have a pretty good sized menu and reasonable prices. This is an excellent place to meet friends. It can get busy at times (e.g. Saturday night) or during major sporting events, so bear this in mind. read more

My fiancée and I had just left King's Island and suddenly wanted to find a nearby pizza place. We'd been by this place before but hadn't tried it yet so we decided to go. Perfect decision for wood-fire pizza fans like us! The atmosphere and service were certainly enjoyable too. Our server, Ryan, was very friendly and welcoming. Their food menu is pretty big and isn't limited to just pizza by any means. The drink menu is pretty big and loaded with different beers, wines, cocktails, and especially bourbons. We started with a couple libations, the house red blend wine for my fiancée, and a Rhinegeist Cincy Light for me. As for our orders, we went straight to what we came for, pizza. She ordered a margherita pizza and I kept it simple with a pepperoni pizza. We definitely didn't wait long at all before our pizzas were ready and both were delicious. The way I see it, if you can't make a good simple pepperoni pizza, you can't make a good pizza period, but they absolutely know how to make very good pizza. Most importantly, the food was exactly what we needed. Something delicious and satisfying. We ordered the salmon tacos (super fresh, and great mango salsa), Mac & cheese (delicious), chicken bacon ranch wrap (the wood fired chicken was amazing!), chicken dumpling soup (very satisfying), two big beautiful salads and pretzel bites (only thing we found lacking, pretzels were tasteless, greasy and cheese was blan). Food was good, service was a slow start, took 15 min to get drinks ordered. But after that food was quick! Waitress was busy at lunch, but very kind. My biggest thing was that the booth we were in was very dirty, the ledge & top of booth suggests it's been a long time since it was cleaned. I really hope it was just that zone and not more of the restaurant. I didn't see until after we ate that another reviewer posted a similar cleanliness comment this week also. We stopped in this morning and fell In love with this little gem of a place. If I had a restaurant this is what I would love it to be. It seemed a little dark when we walked in but that is just the decor. After being seated promptly by a friendly face this place exploded with ambiance. Clean and friendly. Excellent service and the menu was simple yet pleasing. Our meals were great and hot when delivered to our table. We both enjoyed what we ordered which was delivered as how they were described. I went here for lunch today while in town for a friend's wedding. We were looking to eat somewhere nearby and I saw this place on Yelp. I was really hungry so we started off with the pretzel bites, which were tasty. They come with a tangy honey mustard dipping sauce and also queso. They were $10 but apparently it was happy hour, kind of weird because it was 1:30 p.m., so we got $3 off. I got the steak sandwich and it was good but not fantastic. The fries were pretty good though. My friends got some of the pasta choices and also a burger. Overall I'd come back here but I might get a different entree. read more

We were a party of 6 this evening. The menu sounded really good and we were excited to try this place out. Our cocktails tasted like mocktails. Then slowly our food came to the table. The first was soup served in a plastic take home container because there were no more bowls. It was good and hot. We laughed about it and moved on. Next, someone's side salad was brought. Followed a few minutes later by a buffalo chicken dip that tasted like all of the ingredients were put in a blender and then heated to serve. It wasn't bad but all agreed that this one was a bit odd. Next, two barely warm burgers were served followed by a pepperoni pizza. My husband's meatball hoagie and macaroni and cheese were served cold and could not be eaten. Finally my bang bang chicken and house salad came. The chicken was delicious! After speaking with the manager, my husband's inedible meal was removed from the tab and everyone was given 25% off. Very lackluster dinner at Barrel House. Started with the cranberry lime margarita which was $9 and I thought that was good value. Tasty drink. Ordered the breadsticks and they never arrived to the table. They were never put in. Asked for the burger medium. They accidentally gave our burger to another table. So they gave us a well done burger. I don't know why they just didn't make us a new burger??? Salad was pretty boring. Place was clean with lots of parking. Lots of tvs with sports on. Clean. This is a great family owned restaurant that is like an upscale sports bar. The inside is clean with nice touches to make it more elegant, but there are still TVs to catch sports. The large patio is great, with a part that can be closed off with a fireplace. The food is more elevated than bar food too. Food was flavorful and delicious. The pizzas were fresh and well topped. The wings were hearty and flavorful. For appetizers we had pretzel bites and barrel twists, both were great. Drinks, I highly recommend the Summer Sangria as it was amazing. My son loves the Sprecher root beer in the frosted glass. They have a great rotating beer tap. Service was great. Came here for an anniversary dinner. We were greeted immediately which was great, but our server was the main issue. Before we could even look at the menu she was asking for drinks, but was then walking away before I could even ask for an appetizer. Food came out fine, except for my fries being ice cold. After our food came out, our server asked how it looked. We said great. Then she didn't come back until we flagged her down, literally was no where to be seen, almost 25 minutes later to ask for the check. Would have loved another water, marg and beer, probably some dessert but that didn't happen. Not likely to return, or if we did would specify for her not to be our server. read more

We went this evening around 6:00. We were seated immediately, both booth seats and menus were dirty. We sat for 15-20 minutes without a greeting, server or anything. Several servers made eye contact then looked away. The table RIGHT next to us that were seated after us got waited on immediately. After patiently waiting so long and counting 6 servers waiting around the food window we got up and walked out. Very disappointing as I had expected more given the previous reviews. read more
