I order takeout from here all the time and it is SO good that I have to write a review. The vegan chicken salad wrap is probably my favorite item. Whenever I'm craving salad or some crunch, I order that with the crispy chicken, non-spicy, with avocado and sprouts added and veganaise on the side. It is SO good and gives me that chicken salad fix that I miss since going vegetarian. It also comes with chips! Oh here's another tip: I dip the chips in the veganaise and then stuff it inside the wrap for added crunch and to distribute the veganaise in the wrap. I also love the coconut cake, cashew crunch bowl, pancakes, and everything else I've tried here. Everything tastes homemade (in the best way!) like everything is made with love, and you can taste it in every bite. Like i said, I order from here all the time and it is so fast. I know some of that depends on the driver, but they always prepare it super fast and package it up with care. My food is always still hot and fresh by the time it gets to me. The fries are somehow still the perfect consistency by the time they arrive! (If you like McDonald's and in n'out fries you'll love these!) Saw this place on TikTok and saved it to visit later. I'm glad I did! Firstly, the service was very friendly, and I appreciated that. This place is unassuming when walking in, but there's a second room with more seating so don't be afraid to dine in with friends. I loved all of the art on the walls as well. To the food! The menu has a solid amount of items to try, and I went for a basic drink, app, entree combo. The thai tea was super tasty. The app and entree were brought out super quick, and were both piping hot. Spring rolls were decent and what you'd expect. It was the chow mein that was the star. So flavorful! Portion sizes on both were great, and I only finished half before taking the rest home for later. I've been coming here since my vegan friend showed it to me a little over a decade ago. I always get the same thing---the fresh spring rolls with peanut sauce. IMO, they have the best spring rolls! The ingredients are fresh, and they are rolled fairly large. The Vegan Joint opened my eyes to how peanut sauce should taste; prior to eating it here, I used to dislike peanut sauce. Now, I know how it should taste. Since I haven't really tried anything else, I can't say which other dishes are good, but I know my friend had a ton of them, so I suspect they are great too. The only difficulty can be finding parking. There is free parking in the neighborhood, but you might have to walk a ways. If you're lucky, one of the metered spots in front will be available. I would say the vegan joint is heavy on the Asian food. I wasn't expecting it, but my husband got pho and I got papaya salad. Both were very good. However, the papaya salad had some warning signs with the three peppers. I knew that meant spicy and I can handle spice, but let me tell you it was very spicy! Lol Our random tropical pancake with blueberries and banana was delicious fluffy buttery all the fruits. Restaurant is cute. Service was very friendly not very fast but not terrible. I ordered their Valentine's Day special and received a dish that was totally different from what was pictured on their social media, despite asking for that exact dish. The pictured dish had bell peppers, basil, tofu and onion with noodles. My was tofu, broccoli (which I can't eat) and bean sprouts. When I called to inquire if I'd received the wrong dish, the woman said she misunderstood and rang up something different. She said she'd let her manager know and they'd call me the next day, which didn't happen. I commented on the photo of the special on their social and noted it looked different. They reached out to me and I explained what happened. They offered a simple apology and nothing more. I'm not expecting much but remaking the dish I requested would be good customer service in my opinion. Guess that was my first and last time visting Vegan Joint in Palms. read more

This place is such a hidden gem! I'm not even vegan but the flavor this places keeps me coming back. The flavor of their tofu is the best in the game and their sauces are 11/10. I whisk they bottled them up and sold them. I was used to ordering take out but decided to eat in last week and the service was excellent. Perfect for when you want a light meal that's healthy and packed with flavor. located in a very walkable area of palms, there's also a lot of parking all around the streets. I got the tofu tacos here and they were so bomb. Tofu was perfectly cooked and the sauces complemented it nicely. My friend got the chicken spring rolls and she really liked them. Let me start with the breakfast menu, we ordered the breakfast burrito, two different omelettes: one Italian sausage and create your own omelette and the pancake with chicken with tofu scramble on the side and they all blew me away, tastebuds and all! The breakfast items I use to love before I was vegan now I can enjoy again. The texture and taste of the fried chicken was phenomenal! I cry because I can't sample this again into the next time I'm in LA! For takeout night the second round we ordered chicken satay and dumplings for appetizers and Green Curry, Pad See ew, which were also super delicious and I love how everything here is Non-GMO and vegan and the versatility in making various American breakfast foods and Asian foods, different in the menu but the quality results in supreme flavors, texture and great quality food. I have been eating at The Vegan Joint for well over a decade, and it remains one of my all-time favorite restaurants in LA. My go to dishes are the hot drumsticks (best vegan chicken I've ever had), the fried oyster mushrooms (also the best mushrooms I've ever had), the garlic fries, the dumplings, and the curries. I think they need to be double-dipped or requested extra crispy because they serve them pretty soft. The service is solid and on a nice day you can sit outside and enjoy the atmosphere of Palms. Exploring vegan options in the area as my college best friend and his partner have been true vegans for years. We settled on The Vegan Joint after some time on Yelp as it was relatively local and I was pleasantly surprised. We originally wanted to try Berbere in SM but it was closed alas. I'm relatively strict on my gluten-free intake as I get some unmentionable symptoms when I do eat wheat products, etc, and I also have to minimize soy intake for the same reasons, which means often vegan food is incompatible with my eating needs. However, I'm starting to realize there's a few mushroom options on the menu and I tried the birria taco at The Vegan Joint. It was a solid 3/5, very light on the mushrooms and heavy on the hot sauce. My vegan friends rated it as some of the better tasting foods they ate during this trip to LA, but definitely not standout-worthy. Since they are strictly vegan, I took their opinions into consideration alongside my taco rating, and rated this place a 3.5/5, which puts it at better than average in my book. They ordered the kra pow, which they said tasted great and the hi-protein bowl which was a hit with my friend. The thickcut garlic fries were consumed insanely fast but only because we were hungry. The flavoring was really good but it could have been crispier. Service was great; the young lady and the lady closing the register at the end were both super friendly and checked in on our meal. 5/5 for awesome service. All in all, glad we tried it and probably would keep it in mind when looking for vegan spots again in the future. My server recommended the chow main so I went with that. I saw a photo from another yelper saying it's missing something, but I thought maybe his dish actually was missing something, and ordered it anyway. It was really light in color, almost like there's no soy sauce or hoisin sauce in it. That might very well be what was missing. It wasn't horrible, but it was pretty bland. I ended up taking it home and adding the soy and hoisin sauce and then it actually tasted the chow mein. I'd skip this item. The spring rolls were good, but the peanut sauce wasn't my favorite. The taste was okay (also a little bland for peanut sauce), and it had a weird texture, kind of gummy, instead of thick. It was almost like a gravy texture (too much thickener, not enough peanut). Weird. The service was good, and the waitress was sweet. She offered to remove the chow mein from the bill but I told her it was okay since I was planning to take it home. The food came out pretty quickly (I'm not so sure that's a good thing, given the quality of my food). The inside of the restaurant is a bit worn out but the neon signs are cute, and give it a more modern look and feel. We checked out local hot spot The Vegan Joint to see what all the hype was about and we were pretty impressed with the menu. There was Thai, Mexican and American dishes all under one roof! You don't have to be vegan to enjoy delicious vegan food but if you are vegan this is definitely going to be a spot you'll want to come to. This place had many good meals to choose from. Most of what I had was tasty. I love how you have the option of sitting outside or inside to your preference. Their ambiance also had a photo backdrop to take a instax film portrait at. That was a cool touch. The elderly woman who was our waitress was very kind and sweet. She was very personable and attentive to us while we dined inside. Very much enjoyed our experience with her. We ordered the thai tea, taco plate, fries and the yellow curry and both options were delicious. Especially the yellow curry. It was so rich in flavor with the rice. We came back to get that again. Our first experience with the fries were great, flavorful, and crispy, but the next time we came it was soggy and bent. That was the only downfall. We asked if we could get another as a replacement, but the younger woman gave us a hard time about it. Was not the service I was hoping for though. I think just having another order of french fries brought out that was crispier would have been the best way to handle that. So that's why I'm knocking a star off.
