I came here on a Saturday for lunch with a friend (neither of us are vegan but she has a strict dairy allergy and also a garlic allergy) following several recommendations for this spot. We parked in the lot behind Thai Vegan. Understandably, we realized the garlic allergy would cause some issues regarding ordering but they are very strict on no customizations and almost entirely no alterations from their menu even if it was just removing the parts that contained garlic?? For this, I would not say this is an allergy friendly place. There is limited indoor and outdoor seating and because its quite popular, you very well might have to take your food to-go. Pad Thai 3/5, this was just okay. The price is decent and it is a LARGE portion, I ate 1/2 for lunch and took 1/2 to-go for lunch the following day. Shrimp spring rolls (swap from Vegetable Spring Rolls) 4/5, my friend opted for this and since they couldn't do plain veggies (sans garlic per her allergy), we swapped it entirely for soy based shrimp. She quite liked this alongside its peanut sauce but we had to go back and forth to order this in a way that was without garlic and therefore wouldn't harm her. read more

This is based in togo order. I came here for the first time and it was the server was nice and took my order fast. There are sears outside and a few seats inside. Didn't have a chance to dine in, but the takeout was excellent! Ordered the Pad Thai, green curry and tofu Satay skewers. The tofu skewers were done really well, spot on with the right texture and flavor. Pad Thai was great and very fresh tasting, green curry was great too. My only suggestion for the green curry is it seems to come with yams which kind of have a dry texture, but if they offer sweet potato or regular potato I would sub for that instead. Amazing food, beautiful environment, friendly service. You get all the flavors of Thai food but made with plant-based ingredients. The prices are unbelievable for the portions they give you - one plate of Pad Thai, as an example, could be enough for two people depending on appetites! Not only do they have AMAZING vegan Thai food options, but also vegan sushi options. I could not recommend this place enough. They also have a little shop inside with hair clips, bird figures and more. It's in a plaza with a couple of other stores. Again, I highly recommend. This is what we call bang for your buck. I ordered pad Thai, chow mein, and tofu spring rolls and the bag was like 6 pounds. HUGE portion sizes for such decent pricing you can't find anywhere else. The flavor of the Pad Thai was a bit lacking. I could tell it was Pad Thai but the flavor could be much stronger. Decent chewiness to the rice noodles. They are a bit wider than the typical noodles I've had with pad thai. The tofu spring rolls were like burritos. They were okay. Loosely wrapped. Mostly vegetables and a bit of soft tofu. The sauce is coconut peanut, I believe. Not sure if I would get it again despite the solid portion. Note for the online ordering system...I ordered for the first time online using Beyond Menu which was what I was linked to via google. I arrived when my order was to be ready and the lady was super confused and proceeded to scroll up on my phone to see what platform I used. She then checked her phone and went "ah! Beyond menu!" and may have pretended to check with the kitchen and said it wasn't ready yet. It didn't seem like they even looked at that online ordering system. So I had to wait an additional 10-15 minutes since they didn't even see the online order. So be wary if you order online. I would probably call in the future instead. Overall, this is a solid place for huge portions and budget pricing. Not the best tasting and flavorful food, but good enough and you truly can't beat the price/portion ratio. read more

Came here Sunday ready to eat after the Pikmin X Hot Girl Walk and was very taken aback! The pad see ew was AMAZING and the portions are so generous. Couldn't believe I could find this in Santa Monica. I'm going to be making the trek down here more often. Despite the shockingly uncreative names, I really love coming here. It's all really delicious with generous portion sizes too. Expect VERY casual vibes, they have both indoor and outdoor tables but you'll get the food on a paper plate with plastic utensils. My only complaint is they don't offer free water. Even coming back 7 years later, the pad thai is still just as chewy and delicious as I remember it. Prices have increased to $12 for pad thai, but each takeout box is at least 5 pounds. I've been coming here for well over 10 years and I am finally leaving a review because I finally took a picture of all the yummy food we ate. Whenever we come we always get papaya salad and green curry, must gets!!! and the other dishes we always change around, I do enjoy their pad Thai but I love their spicy mint noodle more! Finally took the time to grab dinner from here I got the Vegetable Tofu Fried Rice with added chicken tofu and beef tofu and I got to say it was worth the short wait. The rice was very fluffy and moist, loved the vegatables in there, the chicken was buttery, soft like a little pillow, and the beef had this yummy sweet nutmegy flavor. I took my food to go, so I can't say much about the ambiance rather than the place being pretty small/having limited seating and you having to come and get your food once it's ready (you don't have a server bring it to you). Wait time - I went on a Thursday and ordered ahead through grubhub, and still had to wait around 40 minutes to get my food (I didn't have a big order either). I have a feeling they forgot and didn't start working on it until I got their attention and asked about my order. Pad Thai - pretty good, but not outstanding, nothing out of the ordinary. If I went back, I'd probably get something else. Fried Dumplings - by itself, they are pretty bland, but the sauce definitely brings in more flavor. Do not buy any of the snacks or foods they have displayed at their registers. Unfortunately it is VERY OLD, hard and stale and expired items that seems to have been displayed for a very long time. I bought a bag of plantains hoping it would be good but when I got home to eat it, it was disgusting and tasted awful. The solidified oil that I was fried in had aged horribly and tasted bad. I don't live in the area so unfortunately was not able to try it before leaving their place. I should have tried it there and returned it if I could. I learned my lesson. The Westside's vegan Thai food gem, rivaling Vegan House Thai Bistro in Hollywood. Ordered on a delivery app, and the food was phenomenal. I have tried several vegan options in this area, but they all suck because they lack flavor AND are more expensive!!! Not only is Vegan Thai's food LEGIT, their prices are the best. Each entree is only ~$10, which is a great deal compared to other Thai restaurants that sell their subpar noodles for $15-20. This is a pretty unsuspecting place when you walk by. They have a order at counter style, with self service for food/utensils. Given the price and location (Santa Monica), this place was amazing for portion and quality! The pad Thai was a clear winner, with the fresh rolls being quite good as well. The "fried" rice options are poorly prepared, disgustingly mushy, bland in taste and poorly presented.
