What a vibe this place has. A very up beat neighborhood bar and grill with a chic interior and inviting patio. High energy and fun everywhere. Lol. The service was on point with attentive informative and timely interactions. Great cocktails by the bartender always starts off the experience on a high note and the appetizers and mains were over the top. The Cajun crab dip was amazing with lots of crabmeat, parmesan cheese, heavy cream and herbs. It disappeared almost before I could get a pic. One of the specials was a fried lobster. With fries, cole slaw and cocktail sauce. Different and so good. Order it. And the Blackened Redfish was out of this world with dirty rice and crab pontchartrain sauce. Oh my my! We came here for our 21st wedding anniversary. I really wanted to like this place. The location is great and the restaurant is cute. We arrived at 6:50 for our 7pm reservation. We were told that they wouldn't seat us until 7pm and that it may be 5 or 10 minutes after that. A little irritating, but not a deal breaker. 7pm comes, 7:05. 7:10. We ask how much longer. We are told they are waiting on tables. Um, ok? 7:15, 7:20, 7:25....finally a table. Why even make a reservation if we aren't seated until 25 minutes after? They take us to our table, a party of 2 mind you, and sit us at a cafeteria style table for 6. There were PLENTY of 2 tops around. People who came in after us were seated at them with no problem. Again, weird, not a deal breaker but getting more irritating. Our waitress came over quickly and was amazing the entire night. Attentive and prompt. She took our drink and app orders. This is not an inexpensive restaurant. It is marketed as upscale. Why did she bring us drinks in plastic cups and say they were out of glasses? Excuse me? I am paying over $200 for my meal to drink out of plastic cups? We get our appetizer and it is delicious. Cajun Crab dip. There is a lot of dip and only a small bread loaf, so we ordered an additional loaf after we ate that one. Our waitress put the order in promptly, but the kitchen never sent it out and she had to go find it. By that time, our app was cold. We still ate it, just another disappointment. Our entrees came out promptly, both of us having ordered the Delmonico ribeye, medium. I added a lobster tail. We both had mac and cheese. I had greens, my husband Brussel sprouts. Neither of our steaks were cooked medium. Both were medium well and tough. $52 steaks, fyi. We had already been there an hour and with all of the other incidents, I was just ready to go. Sides were good, lobster tail was cooked perfectly. To sum it up, long wait even with a reservation, weird seating, plastic cups, forgetful kitchen and over cooked steak. Finally had a chance to check out Coalition Steak & Seafood in Alpharetta, and once again, Atlanta Eats was spot on with the recommendation! The restaurant is in a really nice area of town in Alpharetta with beautiful surroundings and really nice decor, just a really, really nice part of the city. We started off with the Louisiana spring rolls, Cajun crab dip, and a jumbo lump crab cake. The crab dip was really good, and honestly, all of the appetizers were excellent. For the main course, we had the Parmesan-crusted salmon, jumbo stuffed shrimp with crab, branzino, and blackened redfish. Everything was cooked to perfection, and everybody really enjoyed their dishes. The service started off a little slow, probably because we were waiting on one of our party members, but once things got going, we had impeccable service for the rest of the evening. Shout-out to Jason for taking great care of us! The mixed drinks were really good too. A couple had a little more ice than I would have preferred, but hey, it's summertime in Atlanta, so maybe that wasn't such a bad thing! Parking can be a little challenging. There is a garage on the side of the building, but I believe it's primarily for the apartment complex. We parked there and didn't get a ticket, but street parking was definitely a little difficult. All in all, we had a really good evening. The prices were reasonable, and they even offer a military discount, which definitely made the experience even better. If you're in Atlanta and don't mind taking a drive up to Alpharetta, I definitely recommend giving Coalition Steak & Seafood a try. Sat at the bar at first because even though I reserved a table, nothing to my usual was available. Unfortunately the bar tender, Deidra, was very rude and blatantly talked about me to her coworker after I asked a simple question about seating space at the bar. What made matters worse, she served another person who sat down after I did, which lead me back to the hostess desk because I did not want to have a bad experience at the bar!!! I sat outside and the wait was very long before a familiar waiter (the saving grace of this experience) came along. Another waiter brought my drink spilling out and I had to ask for napkins, otherwise it would be a mess. Food is always on point! I had the 'Fruit of the Sea' Special. DELICIOUS!! The weather was perfect, and the patio was clean, spacious, and inviting. They even had live music entertainment on a Thursday night, which made for a great atmosphere. The service was excellent and very attentive. Since it was our first time visiting, our server took the time to explain some of the most popular menu items as well as their personal favorites. Based on their recommendations, we ordered the seafood platter, which was just enough for two people to share. If you have a bigger appetite, though, you may still want to order an additional entrée alongside it. The only downside was a noticeable odor when walking inside the restaurant. It smelled like a mix of bleach water and stagnant or dirty water. It's something they should definitely address, but it wasn't enough to negatively impact our overall experience. So my experience at Coalition this time not so good. We ordered the snow crab claws for the appetizer. Unfortunately someone put way too much much salt in this dish. The crab was ok but too salty. Best item on this dish was the bread. My spouse attempted to order the 3 pound lister, but was told it was sold out. Not sure why it's on the menu if it sold out Friday. So I ordered the crab salad and my spouse opted for the whole main lobster. Once again they were sold out of the Maine lobster. She opted for the twin lobster tails. My salad was just ok. The bang bang chicken should be drenched in the sauce to give it the kick it needed. Drizzled was lackluster. Lychee martini was good, had a big lychee fruit in it. Pear dream was almost tea-like but good. Wouldn't get again but did enjoy in the moment. Scofflaw cider was ehh. My fiancé didn't care for it, so it was a chug it and go kind of drink. Steak frites had a fine cook on the steak but more concerned with the flavor, which was lackluster. The fries were really crispy, but because of their size, they didn't have much substance. Not something he'd get again. Chilean sea bass blackened didn't have the kick of flavor I hoped for. The sauce was good if you like Asian-inspired dishes. The potatoes were fine. Needed more seasoning. Mac and cheese was cheesy but needed more of a flavor profile to wow me. Overall the sea bass was meaty and cooked well, but the sides were just okay. Didn't hate the meal but didn't stand out so won't be going back again. Food did come out quickly so the service was good. We got out of our rideshare, right in front of the restaurant on the corner of Moulton and Canton. I entered and we were greeted warmly by the hostess. I informed her that we had a reservation. She reviewed her system and acknowledged our preferred patio seating request. They informed us we could go outside, pick our own table and our server would be out shortly. We sat there for about 2 minutes and our server came out and gave us some menus. We reviewed the beer selection, it was not huge with about 10 options. There was one line that suggested to ask about the 2 rotating taps. That is exactly what we did and were informed one was an Allagash White, similar to a Blue Moon and I think the other one was a pilsner. Wifey ordered the Allagash and I just ordered a Creature Comforts Tropicalia. Soon after we decided on food, Wifey ordered a lobster roll, which was really on the lunch menu, but she decided to order it for her entrée. She added a side of Lemon Garlic Spinach. I decided to go with the blackened Chilean Seabass, which came with roasted potatoes and broccoli. There were a few choices for an accompanying sauce. I was eyeing the Cherry Ginger Soy and our server confirmed it was a good choice. As we were sitting outside on the patio, it started to rain pretty hard so we had to play musical chairs and move to another table. The food came out quickly and looked delicious. We started digging in and I really enjoyed my blackened sea bass. It was seasoned well and the sides went well with it. Wifey also enjoyed her lobster roll, but did comment it was on the salty side. She said the portion size was just enough. As we were finishing up,I asked about the desserts and our server mentioned a peach bread pudding and a creme brulee. They both sounded good and made me really think hard about it, but eventually I decided against it. I will definitely have to come back for that peach bread pudding. Unfortunately, this was not the fine dining experience we expected. We waited approximately an hour, which was already disappointing, but the biggest letdown was the crab legs. They were some of the skinniest crab legs I have ever been served, especially at a restaurant presenting itself at this level. For the price and atmosphere, I expected much better quality, portion size, and overall attention to the dining experience. It was honestly embarrassing and very disappointing. I hope management takes this feedback seriously because the restaurant has potential, but this visit did not live up to the standard or value we expected. First time here because Instagram was a great PR for them. We arrived and were promptly seated however they did not acknowledge my reservation on a digital platform for credits. Our server JUAN alone keeps this review at 5 stars, he was so accommodating. We came in last night for our anniversary, he and the host congratulated us several times, we were sat in a quiet part of the restaurant and he brought us a champagne toast. When asked if we liked our Brussels (ordered as an app) we told him they weren't as crispy as we usually like but that it was fine because we ate most of them and our entrees were coming; he brought another order that was crispier. My favorite was when I went to start the last claw of my crab legs he brought out a steaming hot towel for clean up. His timing was perfect. The food otherwise/overall was good. My husband liked his grouper but wished there was more of it, and really enjoyed his sides. I loved my crab legs, hard to go wrong! The garlic butter they served was so lovely. Ok, it was Fathers Day and it was packed! So glad we made reservations bc they were turning away people they were so busy. We got there right on time but they were behind on tables. We grabbed a drink at the bar and we had to close right out bc our table freed up. The bartenders were slammed! We got our drinks and was surprised they did t have any Father's Day special drinks. We got sat and the server was friendly. We had a GF and nut allergy but I didn't seem to sure of that situation. We had to ask multiple times and surprised the steaks weren't marked GF. We started with the delicious oysters (gulf) we ordered a beer that came after we finished our meal. We did get one in a weird cup! Like i mentioned they were slammed. We ordered a large salad to split, they brought out a small and didn't leave it. We got the large salad AFTER our meal. The timing was off! Server seems preoccupied and even apologized for being off her game. Good thing the food was DELISH-loved the lobster! We split the Neptune of the Sea and it was plenty for two. The steak was really good and cooked perfect! We sure enjoyed the food and understood why the service was off due to how busy they were. But when you go to Celebrate a special event and spend that kind of money, you want that "extra special!" That was definitely missing. This was our first time coming here with the new menu and it was delicious. We started with the bang bang chicken appetizer and it was very tasty. I got the blackened shrimp with broccolini and Brussels sprouts. Everything was delicious. My husband got the crab cakes and they were really good. The desserts were great too. I just walked out of Coalition for dinner. I ordered a salmon BLT sandwich. Had to be one of the worst sandwiches I've ever had. Tiny amount of fish, overcooked, drenched in mayonnaise with a soggy tomato On very thin, white bread basically. I don't leave bad reviews often but this was ridiculous for the price especially. The waiter asked me how it was and I told him so the manager came over and said she was going to take care of it and only took $4.40 off the bill. I wasn't looking for a discount, but if you offer one, you should at least make it reasonable. I will not be coming back here ever. On top of that I looked at their menu and the prices are through the roof. Most entrées were $40 or above. i'm telling you the restaurants are getting so expensive for what you get. Thisi place has gone downhill fast! We have driven an hour to Coalition Steak & Seafood several times because we expected an upscale, relaxing dining experience. Unfortunately, this visit was the complete opposite. We were seated near the kitchen, which wasn't a problem. The restaurant had a soccer game on the TV, but it was quiet and there was no indication anything unusual was about to happen. Without warning, a group of approximately eight staff members gathered just a few feet from our table and erupted into an extremely loud celebration, screaming at the top of their lungs as if they were in a sports bar. The outburst startled us so badly that it literally sent my husband into atrial fibrillation (AFib). He was visibly shaken and extremely upset, and we were prepared to leave immediately. Our waiter could clearly see how distressed we were. Since we had already ordered the lobster bites appetizer, he kindly offered to move us to another table. We appreciated his effort and accepted. We finished the appetizer, but by then the evening was ruined, so we left and had dinner elsewhere. What disappointed us most was the complete lack of management involvement. Our waiter knew exactly what had happened and how upset we were, yet not once did a manager come to our table to apologize, ask if my husband was okay, or acknowledge that the staff's behavior was completely inappropriate for a fine dining restaurant. This wasn't about cheering for a game--it was about professionalism. Guests who choose a steakhouse expect a calm, enjoyable atmosphere, not to be startled by employees screaming just feet away from their table. We have always enjoyed Coalition, which makes this experience even more disappointing. I hope management addresses this with their staff so no other guests have their evening ruined the way ours was. My fiancé and I went out for a date night celebration and decided to head to Alpharetta. We started with the lobster bites, it was a special. They were awesome! Cooked really well and the sauce was great! I do wish there was a little bit more bread that came with it, but it's not like the lobster needed the bread to taste good. Then for my entrée, I ordered the crabcakes and substituted the potatoes for brussels sprouts and it came with broccolini. There is a two dollar up charge if you change any of the sides...I wish they mentioned that when I ordered, but it was still was really tasty and I'm happy with my decision. The Brussels and broccolini were really good and flavored well. The sauce and the crabcakes was delicious! Although they put way too much on it, it still was really good. My fiancé got the tomahawk steak and he said it was cooked perfectly, but very light on seasoning, if any. So he does wish there were a little more seasoned to enjoy it more. But his potatoes were really good and full of flavor. Now to talk about the service. We booked reservations for the bar area and it seemed like that did not matter because they put us in a spot that was "first come first serve at the bar." We celebrated Father's Day at Coalition in Alpharetta, and let me tell you--we found our spot! From start to finish, everything was top tier. Drinks: I had the lychee martini (so smooth and refreshing), my husband enjoyed a classic Old Fashioned done right, and our daughter felt included with a strawberry mocktail that was as pretty as it was tasty. Appetizers: We started with the lobster shrimp bites and a dozen supreme oysters--both were fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Entrées: I ordered the seared swordfish with spinach risotto, crispy onion rings, and a rosemary sauce that tied it all together--perfection! We had a reservation but still ended up waiting about 30 minutes to be seated, which was disappointing--especially since reservations are meant to avoid that exact issue. It was very busy, so I understand the crowd, but the wait was still frustrating. Once seated, everything improved. Our server was extremely attentive and kind, and the food came out in a very timely manner. We ordered quite a bit--crab dip, lobster rolls, snow crab legs, and crab-stuffed shrimp--and everything was delicious and well prepared. Saturday (08/16/25), was our last day in Alpharetta, GA. Hunger and available parking made Coalition the best option for lunch. LOL, we did not know that the restaurant's name included "Steak & Seafood". The food was exceptional; we enjoyed Fried Calamari, New England Clam Chowder, and the best Blackened Salmon BLT sandwiches we have ever had!!! Likewise, the service was impressive. The entire staff was friendly and engaging. Scottie (our Server) was attentive, delightful, and very mindful of my wife's allergies. Lovely little restaurant in downtown Alpharetta. Came here as a last minute reservation for the New Year and they were so accommodating to squeeze me in and alter our amount of people! The champagne offered was great and such a great deal at only $30 a bottle and their burrata was nice and creamy and I love that they provided extra bread for us. I opted for something light, so I got the beet salad with shrimp. While prices are a little on the more expensive side- you get a lot of the added protein and you pay for the environment. Me and my family visited Coalition to celebrate one of my grandsons graduating 8th grade. Everyone had been there before except me and they all love the food. I loved that as we walked up, there was a musician on the patio and the live music welcomed you in. We always have tip money for live music. The Open air dining room with seating inside and out has a very easy welcoming and comfortable feeling with a spritz of stay a while and a splash of classiness & cleanliness. We lucked up and got Desirae as our server. She was patient, pleasant, kind, attentive and compassionate in serving us. I would ask for her anytime. Our appetizer was the bomb (meaning AWESOME), and all six of our meals were decidedly the best meals we all have had in quite a while. I had the branzino and it was yummmmmmmmmmmmeeeeeeeee. Thank you to the chef for switching out the fingerlings for the whipped tatters. For desert, unfortunately, the Crème brûlée didn't make the pics because it got demolished on site- but all other meals are in pics. Prices were fair. We did about 500 on a 6 party table that included tip so that was decent for the quality of food and service we received. No one had adult bevs, BUT, I've already officially quit my Friday night dinner/drink spots and added Coalition to my calendar. Will keep y'all updated as I rotate thru the menu on Fridays. I'll have grown up drinks next time but just know the table next to us was a party of ten and it looked like their craft cocktails were 10 out of 10. Their service was impeccable as well. My party of 3 made a same-day reservation for 7:45 PM. We were able to find street parking and there's a free parking deck across the street from the restaurant (near Police station); avoid parking at the attached garage, which is for residents of the apartments above the restaurant. The hostess was kind to walk outside and point me in the direction of the correct parking area. We enjoyed the sounds of a live band while dining. We started with the Cajun crab dip; it was okay, tasted more like a cheese dip with some crab on top of the dip. We also had drinks; the first sangria was very sweet, the second sangria was well balanced in sweetness and wine content, and the old fashioned was pretty good just not much in volume. We ordered a ribeye medium-well and added a lobster tail, broiled fisherman plate, and shrimp tacos with fries. The steak needed additional cook time to reach desired preparation. The broiled fisherman plate contained 4 shrimp, 2 scallops, and a half piece of salmon; this dish was mostly potatoes, yet it cost $48, not worth the price in my opinion. The side of bourbon street pasta was pretty good. The fries lacked salt. I was disappointed they were out of caramel apple cheesecake, but they did offer a birthday treat--two scoops of vanilla ice cream with a sparkler along with singing the birthday song. Overall, this restaurant was pricey for its casual vibes. The service, food, and drinks are all pretty good; I would consider visiting again if I am in the area. read more

My first visit. Upon walking up it appeared the entire kitchen staff was taking a break at the entrance of the restaurant. They were gathered laughing and talking. I had to say excuse me twice to get in. There was probably two other patrons inside the restaurant and 4 at the out door bar top. The food was subpar. I ordered the king crab legs as it came on the menu with broccolini and mashed potatoes. Cost $110. The only thing that came out hot and seasoned was the broccolini. Both the potatoes and crab legs were cold and unseasoned. There was a side of butter sauce which was slightly warmer. I had a $10 Coalition Margarita it tasted more like a mocktail. I ordered a dozen chargrilled oysters. The first round came out over cooked. The second round was better but 2 were just shells with no oyster inside just baked on toppings. They were otherwise good. Cost $24 (happy hour). I did voice my concerns to both my server and management. The female manger came over and ask if I wanted the crabs & potatoes "reheated". I declined as I was short on time and a remake would be more appealing. She stated she would work something out for me. Shortly after, I requested the check. There was no adjustment & I was not offered a dessert, or anything for my next visitShe never came back over to me. I paid the check plus 20% cash. Total cost $190 (rounded up). I went to the restroom. The manager was at the hostess stand as I left. We made eye contact. She turned to avoid me. This was Thursday 6/4/2026 between 4:30-6 PM. Overall the experience was not as advertised on social media. Again it was subpar. Maybe the second time would've been better, but I guess I'll never know. I do not recommend. read more

The restaurant canceled our Christmas Eve reservation that we had had scheduled weeks in advance via email with less than a week to go. I called and waited on hold for longer than 25 minutes to speak to someone. Finally the manager Keisha answered the call and was extremely rude. I asked since they were seating until 7pm, if since our reservation was for 7:15pm they could just see us 15 minutes early instead of canceling on us. I explained that we were bringing five people up to my parent's house because they're older and cannot drive at night. She interrupted me three times and said she wasn't going to speak to me because the owners had decided this and there was nothing she was going to do to accommodate me. If they need to cancel or reschedule a reservation, that is one thing. But to only contact the customer via email instead of phone, and not offer any other type of option on a holiday is just not the customer service I would hope for. Keisha being so rude on top of everything else was the straw that broke the camels back. We are now scrambling a week out from Christmas with no reservation for my parents who were so excited to try this place. read more

Went here for a date and I'm happy we finally tried it. My seafood stuffed shrimp and risotto were soooo good. I also had the coalition salad. That was also fresh and good. My lemon drops were good and strong. The only downside to dinner was the beignets, as someone who always goes to New Orleans they weren't the right consistency of actual beignets. But the rest of my meal was delicious. I will for sure return for lunch or dinner. read more
