Do not purchase anything from this place. I went to this place when my department approved external vests. I purchased a vest for $400. Pros - Durable material. Cons - Lousy customer service, the vest design was not what I had ordered, the vest itself took months longer than promised, I had also ordered some uniform shirts that never arrived - when I asked for my money back, it took months of phone calls for them to return my money. Almost had to take them to civil court. read more

Their vests just simply do not hold up and look pretty cheesy. The colors fade, the pouches look cheap and overall do not last as long as BPS vests or other competitors. read more

Just had a new vest made for a deployment to a civil unrest and my vest came out excellent! Rick was who assisted me. He took his time to go over all the details with me and customized it for my comfort, efficiency and liking. It is absolutely fantastic! The quality it A+++ and you can really tell the seamstress went above and beyond. I would recommend this business any day, any time. The vest is light weight, which helps with standing on your feet for 12hrs/more. It was customized to my qualifications, including pockets for certain types of ammo and patches. Amazing work! Had some repair work for an over vest that I 'inherited' from a retired co-worker. The quality of the vest is excellent, but the color eventually fades after about two years, as well as the overall material parts (Velcro, strapping etc). Since I'm local to Lawndale, I played a little phone tag to see if I could walk it in to have the repair work done. Not easy to coordinate with them, but once I did, they took care of the repair work which they did while I waited. They were also VERY fair in their repair charge for the work they did. Look, nothing good comes easy, and the end repair results were more than worth my continual efforts. I do understand the other one-star reviews here, but this place appears to be a two person show, with quite a bit of orders. Overall, better quality than the Blauer or other over vests. Consider the wear and tear to standard uniforms and their 'shelf-life' and compare to these vests. The over vests are not cheap, but extremely durable. Worth the time and money, but don't reply on normal turnaround time. read more

My fiancé put in for a special ordered vest in August and paid the extra $100 for expedited delivery. It was finally delivered to the wrong address after two months wait. And currently as it stands, as of December, John Gurrola has avoided all of my fiancé's follow up calls and most of his emails inquiring about reimbursement for the expedited shipping. Terrible terrible service, if you are in any form of law enforcement and are in need of a vest, go anywhere else. Literally anywhere else but the vest man. read more

My husband ordered it through his work and so far we are not happy with their customer service what so ever. Not certain how new this company is but they have a lot to work on if they're going to stay in business. Very rude, and they are all definitely not on the same page. One person told us things were included when the other told us they weren't on more than one occasion. And to make matters worse were completely unapologetic of the miscommunication. I assume they think they'll survive just off the product alone. WHICH, we've been waiting forever now for and who knows how that will turn out.. Fingers crossed. read more

There are two things I can say about this company. The first thing is that their external load bearing vest carrier had a few issues with quality which led to our agency canceling our pilot program with their vest. The second thing is that when we notified this vendor of our intention, he became hostile and rude towards us. Our interaction with the president of the company became extremely questionable when he became verbally aggressive and rude in public towards members of our agency. I had heard this about this guy before but this was a first to experience this type of treatment by a vendor. I cannot recommend this vendor. Please contact LAPD and find out what their interaction was like with their president. read more

DO NOT BUY... The customer service is terrible. I had an a trauma plate in the back of the vest that ripped through in less than 3 months. I was promised a weeks time for it to be fixed but took nearly 2 months. I have had the external vest carrier for about a year and my magazines, hand cuffs and radio are ripping through the pouches.
