Calamari frito

Came in Sunday and had the calamari Frito. It was tasty I definitely reccomend it. Chardonnay never disappoints

For a restaurant located within a golf course, I have to say, this place definitely caught me by surprise- a good surprise ;D! The restaurant is centrally located, overlooking the practice t-hole and private driving range. The view is absolutely gorgeous especially if you find a seat outside on the open patio. We were seated right away... Our server Justin was very helpful in giving food recommendations and throughout our visit he provided the perfect amount of attentiveness while still giving us our private space. Thank you Justin! The food selection is quite large, which in my opinion is great! The variety from the menu is able to attract different likes and dislikes, also meaning there is something for everyone on the menu. My husband ordered the Salmon special, which was probably one the best salmon dishes we've ever tried. The salmon sat atop a bed of perfectly cooked mash potatoes and smothered in a delicious savory sauce. It wasn't too sweet nor was it to tangy, it was tasty. The sautéed veggies were also cooked to perfection. 5 stars on this one, allllll the way! I ordered the Chicken Radiatore. I love saying that, "Rad-deeyuh-tore-AY." If you love pesto, like I loooove pesto, then this is what you need in your life, stat! The noodles were a different shape I've never seen before- but they absorbed the pesto sauce so well, the dish is going to be one of my favorite pasta dishes of all time! With just the right amount of chicken pieces my dish was complete with a few pine nuts on top. After a few dabs of Tabasco, I was in heaven! 5 stars. So between the excellent customer service, and deliciously-satisfying food, it's easy for me to give View Bar and Grill 5 stars. Stop by for food (or a round of golf) on your next Napa visit ;)

Morning coffee, celebrating Father's Day. Looks like they are setting up for a big shindig today!

My family returned to The View Bar & Grill today to try out their breakfast items. Staff was again very friendly, down to earth, and we loved seeing how they all work together to help each other. It creates a pleasant atmosphere. I tried the breakfast burrito. It is a very American burrito, which I did not mind. All ingredients were very fresh and it was nicely displayed. I liked the salsa served on the side. My guy ordered an omelette with bacon and cheese. I was surprised to hear that it did not come with toast but only choice of potatoes. This is a place for members coming off of the golf range and not well known for folks coming off of the street so we did not forget that. Service is exceptionally friendly so it makes up for them being mildly green. We did wish that coffee was served hot and that they had checked back shortly after food had been set down. And on a completely side note--I wish they had more choices in mustard like they do with hot sauces. But that is just me being a fan of brown mustard!

Great food and service. Prices are good and the view of the course on nice day is the best. I highly recommend going a little off the tourist trap of downtown Napa and give it a try. They also pour a good glass of wine.

Rib-eye steak sandwich. Amazingly tender. No knife needed

We stopped by here purely by accident. We were looking for the restaurant inside of a golf course next door to this one. We walked up to the unmarked building. There was one sign that read "bar and grill" and pointed in that direction, but there was no signs on the buildings. We entered one of the buildings and it was a hallway / lobby to several rooms. A gentleman asked us if we needed help. We asked him for the other restaurant by name. He said it was next door, smiled, and said, "but our restaurant is better." We gave them a try. The manager / owner had them bring us a complimentary garlic fries, which was awesome. We ordered the rib-eye steak sandwich and tempura shrimp. The shrimp came in individual wine type glasses (see photos) each in a dipping sauce. The rib-eye steak sandwich was amazingly tender... no knife needed, at all. The prices were very reasonable. The atmosphere was casual, lots of golfers in there, obviously, it is in the middle of a golf course, after all. It was relaxed AND fancy. It made you feel comfortable... Especially since I don't golf... Unless there is a windmill or three-headed dragon involved. There is a bar, high tables as well as regular tables. It was spread out comfortably, so you felt your conversations were your own. The service was perfect. They made certain your glass was never empty and you received everything you needed. I will definitely be back... Did I mention I don't golf? That should speak for itself on how great of an experience this place was.

Are there private dining rooms?

We did not see any private dining rooms. The dining area’s central focus is the view of the sweeping Napa landscape. The environment is quite casual.

Unfortunately, this time they arrived prepared differently, with several tomatoes and other ingredients that completely changed the broth. Instead of the garlic flavor I expected, the broth tasted sour and bitter from the tomatoes. When I politely asked if the order could be corrected, Edgar was dismissive and refused to help. His attitude came across as arrogant and unprofessional, and I ultimately left hungry and disappointed. On a positive note, I spoke with the manager afterward, and she was extremely accommodating, kind, and understanding. I truly appreciate how she handled the situation and how genuinely sweet she was. Because of this experience, I do not plan to return while Edgar is working there. The manager's excellent customer service was the only bright spot in an otherwise frustrating visit.

I don't know what they put in their salsa. I know the main ingredients of salsa, but their salsa? Oh my gosh. It is delicious. It's my favorite salsa. I'm sitting here stuffed from dinner, and I still want some right now. My husband loves the chorizo burrito. He's ordered it both times we've visited. It's this big, gigantic burrito that looks impossible to eat, but somehow he manages. On our most recent visit, we ordered the chicken flautas as an appetizer. First of all, the flautas themselves were delicious. The seasoning on the chicken had flavors that felt familiar, but with a twist of something I've never had before. And the smokiness of the sauce on the flautas? Delicious. Just absolutely delicious. I also ordered the salmon, which was perfectly seasoned. I believe it normally comes with vegetables, but mine came with a salad instead. Whatever the reason, that salad was outstanding. It was so fresh and flavorful. There may have been apple, pear, or jicama in it... I honestly couldn't tell... but every bite was delicious. The atmosphere is fantastic, too. Elena took care of us on both visits. She makes it feel like you're visiting somebody's home. She is absolutely warm and hilarious at the same time. What really surprised me was that she remembered the beverage my husband ordered on our previous visit. I was like, "How long ago was that? Three months ago?" Another young lady came around and asked how we were doing as well. Very hospitable. Again, I really can't believe there weren't lines out the door. I mean, it's a cool crowd, don't get me wrong. But y'all are asleep. Don't sleep on this place. Y'all need to get there. I'm telling you... just wait.

Staffing has never been an issue, and it's always been easy to get help at the bar. The drinks are well-made and flavorful, though on the pricier side. The only food I've tried so far is the carnitas nachos, and they're definitely worth ordering. Overall, it's a fun spot for both adults and kids, and it's usually our first stop after checking in.
