    Simply Salmon Salad
    Cliff N.

Here is my salmon salad that is always a pleaser! For lunch or dinner, this salad is fresh, light refreshing and the salmon was delicious, moist and full of flavor but not undercooked either!

French dip. They dropped a fry in the horse radish sauce before delivering it to me.

The food here is just not good. There are so many simple dishes that can be done well but hop creek fails miserably. I believe the most common complaint about french dip sandwiches is the consimme broth is too salty. At hop creek there is no salt on anything. It's as though they live in an age where salt has not been invented. Salt is life folks. Beer selection is ok. Service was good.

We had a reservation for a Saturday at 5 pm and were seated right away. I'm glad we had a reservation because the place seemed to fill up fast!! Our waiter was great and quick! Food came out fast and as ordered. No complaints!

No beautiful pictures today but but but... the experience was fantastic! Food - burgers were excellent - juicy and well done; garlic fries are good - with real garlic not just salt. Battered cod was perfect, not greasy at all, poke was fresh and tasty. Desserts were interesting and surprisingly good. Great service! Our server was spectacular. Pleasant always smiling. Love it when they don't write it down but remembers everything. Prices are very reasonable. Everything under $20. We were running away from places serving food for $50-100 per person. The funny part is - I normally will take pictures of the food before we eat. But I'm guessing we were all anxious and hungry that I forgot to take photos of the food. The company was great too - late lunching with dear friends.

My husband and I were in Napa and wanted to try Hop Creek for the first time for my birthday dinner. It was dark when we arrived and the shopping plaza that its located it was not well lit. We parked and got out, not sure if we were in the correct place but finally saw the sign. We almost did not continue to look for the restaurant because of the minimal lighting and confusion as to where the actual restaurant was at. I am glad we did continue to the restaurant as we walked in, the employees were nice. The restaurant was busy but we were seated fairly quickly to the patio area we requested. It was so nice and spacious with lots of heating lamps, beautiful greenery and lovely lights. I was so happy we decided to eat outside. Our waitress was absolutely a doll and was very helpful. We decided to just get some appetizers as we had a very large and late lunch. We chose the fried pickles to start out with. My husband chose the chicken bacon flatbread with the ranch and bacon on the side, and I chose the combo flatbread. As we were waiting on our food, we just enjoyed how peaceful the patio was. It was a chilly night but the heating lamps helped keep us comfortable. When we got the pickle fries, my husband pointed out the dip. It was supposed to be cucumber ranch dressing, but it tasted more like dill ranch. Either way it was very good with the pickle fries. We both enjoyed our flatbread pizza. My husband really enjoyed the cheese option that was used and I liked that they was a good amount of toppings on both. They also gave me a complimentary dessert that was so big and tasted amazing! We definitely want to come back, and try the main menu, not just the appetizers. I do suggest maybe more lighting and more obvious signage as to not confuse the people who have never eaten here. All the employees were very nice and attentive. The restaurant was very clean and I loved the decorations!

I never have a bad experience at Hop Creek. It is a local joint out of the way meaning not many tourists know about it. I always sit at the bar. I always have good drinks and good conversation. Highly recommend.

Never disappoints. We are locals and it's our go to place. We don't live far when you don't wanna cook. I always recommend them to people coming from out of town when I drive groups staying downtown

Came here with my dad to celebrate his 63rd birthday, and everything was on point. We started with the Ahi Tuna appetizer -- fresh and flavorful. I had the Western Burger with pepper jack (juicy and full of flavor), and my dad had the fried cod, which he really enjoyed. What really made the night was the staff. Whayett, Clara, Josh, Ruby, Courtney, Melissa, Owen, and Mike all helped us out and made sure everything was smooth. They even let our dog hang out with us on the patio, which meant a lot. Great food, friendly service, and they made my dad's birthday feel special. We'll definitely be coming back.

Popped in to celebrate my husband's birthday and scored seating on the patio. It's lovely for the warm Napa evenings as the sunset cools everything down. Service was fast, attentive, and food was delicious. We enjoyed a few cocktails and there was plenty of room for my son to play near our table. Again, this is a local spot, tucked away and honestly, just a great place to get off the beaten path. Shout out to Joshua for AMAZING service and just being a great person. We'll be back!

Five Stars for Hop Creek -- Pub of Champions and Pickle Wizards If pub food had a hall of fame, Hop Creek would be inducted with a standing ovation and a deep-fried dill pickle tossed into the crowd. Those crispy little brined beauties were so good we briefly debated switching careers to full-time pickle critics. The Brewsed Black and Bleu burger? A glorious tower of bold flavor, beefy bravado, and bleu cheese sass. It punched our tastebuds in the best possible way and left us emotionally bonded to our napkins. And let's talk about the Classic Reuben on marble rye. If sandwiches could write poetry, this one would've penned a heartfelt sonnet about melted Swiss and sauerkraut destiny. Rich, tangy, toasted perfection. Atmosphere was laid-back and lively--the kind of place where you feel equally at home sipping a local brew or making loud declarations about your new sandwich-based religion. We'll be back. Probably wearing shirts that say "Team Pickle." No regrets.

Melisa are wonderful server. Merry Christmas

Took my sister for her 83rd birthday today with my other sister, my nieces, my great niece, my great, great niece and my cousin to hot Creek for lunch today. Melissa was our server and everybody else that works there really nice to us.. I had the fish and chips three of them and french fries and they're yummy. Yum. My niece had the fish tacos. She like those my sister had the sandwich she liked that, my sister had a hamburger with bacon, and that was really good. The service was wonderful. We sat in the back room in the back so we could hear each other. Thank you for the great service Melissa.

The fish was perfectly cooked, and the portion size felt fair for the price. The staff struck a great balance -- friendly and attentive without constantly interrupting the meal to ask if everything was okay. It made the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. At one point, the music was slightly loud for my liking. Another guest politely mentioned it, and the staff immediately turned it down and made sure everyone was comfortable. That kind of responsiveness really stood out. What truly went above and beyond was what happened after I left. I had forgotten my hat on the seat, and instead of just putting it in lost and found, our waiter actually ran out of the restaurant and caught up with me before I crossed the street to the parking area. That level of care is rare and genuinely appreciated. Overall, this was a 10/10 experience. I'd absolutely bring my family here -- kids included -- and would recommend it to anyone considering stopping by. .

So we thought- to my left was glass and seated there was a couple- it was a little uncomfortable - they can do something about that - a little Curtain - some steamed something ? we were looking at each other and it was kinda different . Not bad - not good - just different . We waited 10 full minutes before someone came over and brought two small waters which is ok- and then left - at least he said hi. Our waitress then showed up and didn't say her name - and asked us if we were ready - and then we ordered - I was in mid sentence and looking down and then swoop - the menu was gone - I guess I didn't want to add to my order- Our food came out and the Calimari was good, a decent portion, a bit salty - but - it was good . Then came our food - I got the short ribs - I will say it was really good and the meat just shredded nicely ....it was exceptional actually. My brother got the salmon and I will say it was delicious-- both were small portions with a big price - that's Napa . I don't know how it was 140$ for dinner - for two- but it is what it is. Then we were asked for dessert - a menu came and we waited it took a while for our server to come back - and since we waited so long we were turned off to get dessert ... so we went to Annette's up the street . No worries there is always something around the corner . If you read my review.. you will see she never checked on us - she did come back to get a drink refill - and that's it.. It's the 16$ an hour plus tips I guess... bad service for she will get paid anyway- service used to be important - now it's devices- it seems like she was looking at her device the whole time - the little computer they used to order the food. Maybe that's how they run the place .. it wasn't busy- it looked steady - but not busy tonight 3/7 around 730 pm... No one came by to say hi, or to welcome us in. Maybe at the desk ,, the hostesses . Maybe.. but during our stay - no one Napa is dying - bad service and good food - it doesn't mix well and let's say there are other options- I'll be taking those options in the future - look around you may find something you like - the food is good here - yes it's - the service - stinks - It's a cute place inside - neat- clean - plenty of room- The menu printing is way too small - I had a hard time reading it - possibly size 6 lettering .. I don't know - I'm not an expert on font size - I am an expert on reading - and it was hard to do -

Nice touches adorn the restaurant throughout. The menu has a lot of wonderful options. The service, provided by Alex, was excellent. We started with the Dungeness Crab arancini, which are probably the best thing we ate all evening, and that's saying a lot because everything we had was great. These arancini are perfectly fried crab meat rolled into a ball served over a delicious tartar sauce. I wish I had 3 orders of this, at least. We ordered the soup of the day and their bread service. The soup was a white bean and sausage and it was perfectly salty and fatty. The bread and butter was a perfect accompaniment. The Carpe Diem salad was also really special. It had these Cabernet soaked dried cranberries that were so good and tart. For an entree, we ordered the short ribs which come over a risotto. It felt a little heavy, and maybe the sauce could've used a little acid to cut the heaviness. It was still really delicious though. For dessert, we had the espresso crème brûlée. This was just the icing on the cake of a great meal. I love Carpe Diem and hope to come back soon!

They had already ordered and eaten, and I simply wanted to join them at their table. Instead, the staff refused to allow me to sit with my own group and made me sit at a separate table next to them. What made this especially frustrating was that the patio was nearly empty. Multiple tables surrounding us were completely vacant for the entire time I was there. There was no crowd, no shortage of space, and no reasonable explanation for why I couldn't sit with my friends. The staff chose to enforce a rule--or make a decision--that served no purpose other than creating an awkward and unpleasant experience. Restaurants are supposed to be in the hospitality business. Separating a guest from their own party when there is abundant empty seating all around is the exact opposite of hospitality. The complete lack of common sense and flexibility was astonishing. I've never encountered a restaurant that would rather leave tables empty than allow someone to sit with their own group. It was a needlessly rude and frustrating experience that left a far worse impression than anything related to the food. As a local resident, I've dined at plenty of restaurants in the area and have never encountered anything this rigid or inhospitable.

Perfect ambiance to sit, drink, eat and enjoy a beautiful sunset. We started with The Morel mushroom tartare, which is morel mushrooms, with an egg, shallots and chives oil over a perfectly well toasted sourdough. Delicious! The steak tartare did not disappoint either. Great balance of flavor between the two. The mushroom earthy flavors along with a light hint of pesto from the morel tartare really balanced out the richness from the steak tartare. The pickled figs served with in the steak tartare really called my attention as they were delicious as well. That was my first having pickled figs :) The salad was delicious, I am a sucker for cheese and the perfectly ripe figs along with the chèvre cheese truly hit the spot. The wild flounder pouched was the wild surprise! I love a restaurant that preps their seafood just right. I love seafood! And I do not like it when it's over cooked. This dish did not disappoint! The salad was a great portion size for a meal (or to share as a side), it was perfectly dressed, and the toppings were proportional & balanced. One of the better salads I've had out! The smoked salmon was good but nothing to write home about. Their house chips are nice and thick, which I like, but a little too salty for me. I'd like to come back up to try the mussels, duck or some other entree next time I'm in the area, though I probably wouldn't go out of my way.
