I ordered to go and had the Mac and cheese (pretty dang good with a home cookin vibe) and the blackened fish sandwich that was seasoned with a perfect combination of spices and heat. Wow we are so in love with this place! My fiancé and I were just walking by when we spotted the menu outside. The moment we saw brisket pho at a BBQ spot, we both looked at each other like... wait, what?! As we kept browsing the menu, we thought, why not try it spontaneously? First off, we loved the backyard BBQ vibe on the back terrace it felt relaxed, cozy, and inviting. When we ordered, our server said, "Great choice" about the beef brisket pho and really hyped it up, which made us even more excited. My fiancé ordered the Asian salad with Mary's chicken popcorn so delicious. The portion was generous, especially the amount of chicken, which we appreciated. Then my pho arrived. I could see the steam rising from the bowl and smell that rich aroma immediately. The brisket chunks were thick and beautiful. Before adding any herbs, I had to try the brisket on its own and wow. Absolutely incredible. The taste, the texture, the smokiness it was an instant love. It wasn't overly salty or sweet just a perfectly balanced, mild smoky flavor, exactly how smoked brisket should be. And the broth? A rich beef bone broth that made the pho even more special. Once I added the fresh herbs and built my perfect spoonful noodles, brisket, broth that first bite was everything. It burst with flavor. Comforting, soothing, and deeply satisfying. A true hidden gem tucked away in downtown Napa. I immediately asked our server if this pho is always on the menu. Sadly, it's seasonal. I was honestly mind-blown. Something this good deserves a permanent spot. They really need to hype this dish up more sometimes the best items get overlooked just because people don't expect it at a BBQ restaurant. Came here for lunch after strolling around the Napa Farmers Market. They had just opened amd we were seated in a booth. The inside had a good vibe with amazing pictures on display. Brenda was our server and was very welcoming towards us. I've been wanting to try their BBQ for some time, and decided to order the Q for 2 plate ($59). The plate comes with a generous portion of beef brisket, pulled pork, chicken, pork ribs, and beef sausage along with a side of coleslaw enough for two people to share. All the meats had amazing flavor and were tender and juicy to the bite. The coleslaw wasn't too creamy with the right amount of touch and was fresh. I enjoyed the brisket and the beef sausage the most out of it all, but everything was great. I will say, however, though the ribs were amazing I think their dry rub was a slight bit excessive. I almost gasped from the back of the throat after taking a bite it was a little too much. Very tasty, but just needed to be toned down a touch. Came here for restaurant month (It's usually restaurant week), but hopefully this month thing sticks around and becomes permanent. The deal was pretty good ($26) for the chicken plate, pimento app and key lime dessert. The pot pie and salad was $26 as well but obviously didn't come with any extras. The fruity drink was apparently unimpressive being that I totally forgot what it was BUT I do have to say that the Old Fashioned was excellent! If you do come here and get the fried chicken, you HAVE to try sprinkling some of their spicy vinegar on it. Sounds weird but trust me, it works! This was a fantastic and convenient pre-show dinner option before heading to the Blue Note down the street! We were a party of 6, and I was able to make a reservation same day using Google Assistant (!) for a Sunday early dinner. When we arrived the place was hardly full, yet was full of warmth from our server who sat us promptly. On the way in, I noticed their well appointed and shiny bar area and I could tell there were a few regulars posted up enjoying the Sunday NFL lineup over cocktails (noted, a great place to do so!) Now on to the food...admittedly I was raised on Flints (RIP) and Everette and Jones while growing up in Oakland, plus a family of grill masters, so my tastes have been shaped by these bay BBQ classics, but I have to admit, The Q was solid! The highlights for me were the tender ribs, smoked chicken, pulled pork, crunchy fried chicken, and ALL the sides! Those particular meats were tender and flavored perfectly! I especially loved the greens and cornbread, and hubby was really impressed with the mac and cheese! I liked *less* the brisket and sausage -- I found the brisket sliced a bit too thick and not as tender I'd prefer it. And the sausage texture was also not my personal preference - I like less structure and more fatty, tender texture. One good thing my party appreciated was the BBQ sauce selections on the side - so you can sauce it up to your preference! Hubby and I were looking for a quick bite to eat for lunch. Nothing to heavy. We walked down main street and a few of the restaurants were closed, closing or not open yet at 2:45pm. We decided to go to Q R&B since it was on the list of places we wanted to try while in Napa. After looking at the menu, a salad or sandwich were my two options since I wanted something light. I went with the quarter pounder cheeseburger with fries and decided to split it. The staff was nice and very helpful. I love the setup of the restaurant. We sat in a small booth in the corner. There's a huge bar when you walk in. There table seating as well. They also have outdoor seating but it was starting to get warm so we sat inside. The burger was juicy and pleasing to eat. I came with a friend to The Q Restaurant and Bar on a Saturday evening around 6pm, and it was moderately busy. By the time we finished our meal, the restaurant was pretty full! It's a nice welcoming place, with some nice photos on the walls and comfy seating, and it looks like there might be a private room in the back available as well if you're hosting a larger group! We shared a butter lettuce salad, which was light, fresh and crisp, followed by the very generously portioned "A Taste of the Q for Two". This included baby back ribs, chicken, brisket, pulled pork, and spicy beer sausage, as well as a pretty large side of coleslaw, which we were allowed to pick from the 4 different options on their menu. We really liked the ribs, which were fall off the bone, and the brisket. The sausage and chicken were okay as well, but the pulled pork was quite dry. We got the pepper vinegar coleslaw, which was a nice light crunchy refreshing bite to cut through the meats :) Last but not least, we got the cast iron cornbread skillet which comes with honey butter - this was so gooood, not too sweet, soft with a little crispy crust and comforting - definitely get this! I love both the BBQ at the Q and salads. I have eaten most of the dishes at the Q . I have been eating here since it opened almost a decade ago. Great staff and with every year I have eaten there it has gotten better and better. I love the BBQ AND it is my favorite restaurant for salads, which I love to eat in Napa. Came in for happy hour with a friend. Located downtown with plenty of street parking. I walked in and was not immediately greeted. It was busy, packed at the bar, and there were a few small tables inside at the front. I waited for a minute until the host lead me to a table. The hostess was very friendly and brought water for the table. She knew I was waiting for a friend so interaction was minimal which i appreciated. I perused the menu and my friend arrived. We ordered immediately: guacamole and chips to share and we each ordered the brisket tacos. The guacamole was bright with lots of lime, but not worth $10. The brisket tacos were delicious, they give you two, but they were small, and it also came with salsa verde which tied it all together, beautifully. I would order this again. Service was excellent. They grabbed our plates when we finished our food and the hostess gave us hot towels for our hands. That was nice. I would definitely come back to try their dessert next. I ate at this restaurant 16 years ago in the Bel Aire Shopping Center and loved it then. Fast forward to now, I love the DT location and the food even more! Consistency is key. Our four legged fur baby was welcomed in the spacious and quaint patio. We started with the spinach and artichoke dip. My wife had the heirloom tomato and watermelon salad with feta and raved about it. I had a hankering for fried chicken since I had BBQ ribs just a few days ago. Excellent! I was looking for a place that had a good Happy Hour and Pooch friendly & Napa Foodie on FB recommended The Q. So off Í go with pooch in hand or on leash. I sat in the patio because it was a nice warm afternoon. It was early so Benji & me were the only ones in the patio but it was peaceful, until, I'll get to that in a bit. The service was outstanding from the hostess, waitress & helper. I started with a nice margarita then moved on to the ribs and then tacos. The small plate portions were generous and delicious. I even added a sundae for dessert. Ok perhaps it was too much for one person but I managed. And of course Benji got lots of attention. As I mentioned it was peaceful until to my surprise they had a drag queen bingo/trivia night and I as able to partake in the bingo portion. Yesterday, my sister and I were very hungry and were in town. We looked at a few places and landed on this restaurant. We seen it was rated high and we found items we could eat. So we came here. It was around 3:00 PM so it was quiet. We got seats in the back and they turned on the heater as it was a little cold! Brenda was our server and let me tell you her and 2 other gentleman were sooooo attentive to us! They took our plates and drinks when we're done. They took our orders when we were ready! They were awesome! Now the food was good! The deviled eggs were delicious! I am not a fan of pickles so my sister had them and she almost ate the whole thing! I told her to stop so she can eat her food! She had the Fish and Chips while I had the Fried Chicken Meal! Her food was so good (we tried each other food) and mines was so delicious! the collard greens had a kick to em! The food was so hot we had to slow down and wait to eat. The drinks were great! This review is long overdue. I was planning a company event and came across The Q in my search of bbq. The owner Kelly is amazing and such a pleasure to plan with. Before the event a few coworkers and I went in to try the "food". It did not disappoint. We each ordered a dish and ate it family style. The deviled eggs and fried pickles appetizers were delicious. Next came out the main dishes. We tried the Asian chicken salad, the bbq plate for 2. , the salmon special with a lemon sauce was to die for. The Mac and cheese was a favorite of all of us. Now let's talk about the cornbread and honey butter I have never had a better cornbread. We were sad that there wasn't any left. The weather was amazing and sunny so we sat outside. The service was top notch. At my company's event the food was a major hit and I couldn't have asked for better food. Kelly and her team did the drop off and set up for us. We had the tri tip, pulled pork, Mac and cheese, the cornbread of course. But the dish that out shined everything was the fried chicken. We were served by the manager who had an attitude with our group since we came in. I came in with a large group when the restaurant opened so there was no one there when we arrived. Even though they were not busy, the manager still FORGOT to put in my order and because we were on a time crunch I was unable to eat. My friends burger was undercooked and had to send it back as well. Instead of offering apologies and some sort of compensation for their mistakes, the charged us for everything. On top of that, they originally undercharged us and instead of letting us know, they charged the card with the new price. The Q has great food! Their tenders are delicious. Their burger is very juicy and I love to get it with a side salad! The only reason I am giving it 3 stars is because the service here is awful. And it's been this way since they were in target plaza but I always turned a blind eye. Now that they are located downtown, the service has not improved. There is one particular employee that has been there since the target plaza days and she is not friendly. She monitors the bar but again, she is not friendly. Most of the times I dine, are during the transition of lunch / dinner so I understand staff is also transitioning but I mean, there will be 2 tables occupied and she won't once come and ask you if you need anything and if you walk up to kindly ask for something, she is very dismissive. In our first night in Napa, we were looking for a casual spot for dinner after a long day of travel. The Q Restaurant was just what we were looking for. The vibe is casual, the service friendly, especially the owner, Kelly, who made us feel at home. We ordered the bbq platter for 2, which was loaded with pork, beef, chicken, and more! Eric was outstanding. I met a gentleman at the bar Sean he was very nice and gave me some Great recommendations on the food aspect. I ordered the chicken family dinner (mash potatoes, greens) side of Mac and cheese. It was the best chicken I have ever had. It was so good i bought a second chicken dinner plate to go. A lot of restaurants don't open till 5 o'clock, but the Q was open at 3 o'clock and we went in! Love the feeling in here... It's just so cute and quaint and there's even outside seating in a private room for a large crowd. We'll have a booth and they even had that for us. I got the bacon lettuce and tomato with avocado sandwich. That was absolutely delicious! It has a basil aïoli on it and was so yummy. My husband got the blackened cod sandwich and it was delicious as well... Both sandwiches were around $19 but you got a mountain full of Crispy, hot and salty fries with it!
