We've eaten here several times. You'd thino it would be hard to screw up breakfast, but they managed. I ordered chilaquiles. They served me a plate of tortilla chips smeared with a little red sauce (the "chili") and eggs. I spoke to the server but all she did was offer me a comment card. Another time I ordered a French dip. The au jus looked like dish water with oil floating on it. A 3rd time, our service was really slow. Not giving them a 4th chance, obviously. read more

Just eating establishment runs at a loss and is supported by the HOA of Sun City. Unfortunately, when you don't have to make money, you don't have to make good food. We are fairly regular customers of the View Restaurant. This last time we went for breakfast and there only 4 or 5 people there. First thing we noticed was the floor under the tables and the chairs were dirty with crumbs and other stuff. When we received our coffee my wife's cup still had lipstick from another customer and we asked to change out the cup and a fresh coffee, this was done without a word from the waitress. She brought the next cup and it was equally dirty and had crumbs floating in the coffee, upon telling the waitress she took the cup and brought another still without a word. One of my two over easy eggs was over easy, the other seemed like it had been warmed up from another order. All in all our routine morning out left us with a bad taste and it will be a while before our shadow is seen there. read more

Im not a resident of sun city and am not old enough for medicare but I decided to come by to eat a few times and check out the vibe. I love this place. We live just outside of Sun City and have dined at The Views several times, including with friends and family. As implied, the views of the Catalinas are amazing! I don't know if we've just been lucky, but we have not experienced the service issues that some other reviews mention. Many restaurants are facing staffing challenges now, so perhaps it just depends on the day. My go-to dishes here are the green chile quesadilla, catalina grilled cheese minus the bacon, and pan-seared salmon. The food always has been good, and I appreciate that it can be accompanied with a nice glass of inexpensive wine. Oh, I also must mention the dessert special. The caramel cheesecake was rich and delicious! With decent food and amazing views, we'll continue to pop in periodically. read more

My in-laws live in a house in this neighborhood, so we sometimes find ourselves at the Views. It's not bougie (as you kids say these days), but there is something about this place that makes me like it. It might be the playful singers who frequent the Karaoke Sunday dinners: it might be the slightly sassy, but likable, no-nonsense wait staff; or it could be that the food is simple but good, or it could be that the food is reasonably priced. I wish I would have taken photos of this lovely place. My family, friends, and I came to Tucson for a wedding. I stumbled upon this place close to our VRBO thanks to Yelp. We were a large group of 13 and even though we didn't have a reservation, the host welcomed us and seated us promptly without hesitation. Would not return for several reasons. Service is below average. Although there was not a wait to place the order there was no follow up after the food was served. No ketchup for the fries and the ice tea was not refilled. Food was not good. Had the fish and chips. Quantity was good but quality definitely lacking. Some of the greasiest fish ever. First of all, the 25% off the bill for checking in on Yelp was a bonus. We chose the restaurant for its proximity to our condo. When we checked in, with a delightful hostess, the discount popped up! Our waitress Eden was pleasant, informative and efficient. She wrote down the discount - her first time encountering one. She brought our drinks right away, and returned for our food orders. Niece ordered the bagel & cream cheese (including salmon, lettuce, onions, tomatoes, and hard boiled egg). Husband ordered the Sun City (scrambled eggs, plain pancakes, and bacon), and I ordered the waffle with strawberries & whipped cream. Orders came quickly, delivered by a very nice young lady. Eden returned to fill Niece's coffee cup. She'd brought extra hot water for me earlier, for my tea. Food was very good! Niece didn't eat all the salmon (so much!) or tomatoes (again, so much!!). Husband shared some of his bountiful breakfast with me (scrambled eggs were fluffy and excellent). My waffle was light and good, with just enough whipped cream and sliced strawberries (didn't need syrup). When we paid our bill, our 25% discount became the tip with another $2 for extra special service and food. Before leaving for our road trip, we used the clean, stocked bathrooms. Came here due to the great reviews. First off I want to mention that there is a check in coupon but the restaurant refused to honor it. They actually blamed yelp for it. Beyond that service was prompt. We started out with the shrimp cocktail which was very traditional and tasted fresh. For entrees my companion had a Reuben with a side of sweet potato fries. Very delicious. I had the strawberry balsamic salad. It's spinach with pecans goat cheese and vinaigrette. I had the large. It was great for a lunch portion. Neither of us had any left overs. We indulged in desert as well. They have a nice selection. Our choice was the brownie sundae and the chocolate chip cookie sundae. Neither the brownie nor the cookie were warmed but the sundaes didn't suffer much from it. The brownie was soft and very moist. The cookie was crisp. The vanilla ice cream it says is made in house. It was quite good. All topped with a nice helping of whipped cream and a cherry on top for good measure. The restaurant is clean and unassuming. There's a variety of dishes to choose from so I'm sure most will find something they like and I believe it will be pleasing. All in all it was a very satisfying meal topped off with a most beautiful view of the surrounding mountains. read more

This review is not based on the service except for the fact that I received the wrong breakfast. Server was very nice. It was busy and we waited briefly for our food. I was served fried potatoes without ordering them. I ordered a frittata without ham and changed the type of cheese. What I received was a frittata with nothing but ham. I ate half of it after pulling out all the ham and it was quite a mound. The server was kind enough to take it off the bill. read more

Now this review is excluding breakfast. I still think they do a good breakfast. I usually get an omlette or the oatmeal which they do a good job. We hardly ever do dinner here. When we do it's usually a long time in between visits. I'm always hopeful that their food will improve. Instead it seems worse as time goes on. It's almost criminal what they are charging for what you get. I got a hamburger last night. The bun was like they pulled it out of the freezer not long before serving. Very cold. And they charge an extra dollar for a pathetic piece of cheese or serving of guacamole. So buy that time is like 17 o 18 for a really sub par hamburger. Now compare that with a burger from Trident. Good sized burger dressed (variations) for 16.50. meat is always fresh. . I just don't understand how they can charge what they do for what they serve. And according to family that live in sun city, the views is subsidized by the Sun City community. Really awful food. read more

They have revamped the menu in the past year. Decent variety of options, and the food is great. It can get very busy on nice evenings. They have live music on Friday and Saturday evenings, and you can bring chairs, and sit on the lawn. They will still serve you on the lawn. read more

We were in the area and wanted something close by that was not too expensive and certainly not a chain restaurant. This place fit the bill in all ways! Views, nice menu and reasonable prices! However, as a fellow Yelper, I have a duty to save you, as some of you have saved me, from an unfortunate experience. I could write a scathing and sarcastic review, but the service was slow, my wife's food was cold and tasteless, and most of my shrimp cocktail was served in my lap. The time was 2:45 PM, not exactly the rush hour. There were six waitresses standing around. I had no complaints about my tuna salad sandwich and the shrimp cocktail. They were OK except the shrimp in my lap. Fortunately, the sauce didn't fall into my lap. I cannot fault the server, because of the way the cocktail cup was designed. It was stylishly long stemmed, but the cup was a disaster waiting to happen because of instability. It was thirty minutes before we got our drinks. As I said, my wife ordered hot food but didn't get it. This place isn't understaffed--it's under-led. If there is a manager, that person doesn't understand the difference between leading and managing. If five of the waitresses were a baseball team, they wouldn't even know where the ball was, much less what to do with it. This restaurant violates all nine Principles of Warfare, but the two that they really fail are Unity of Effort and Economy of Force. Additionally, one does not receive an itemized bill, hence, you don't know what you are paying for. I suggest that the owners conduct a bottom-up review, or even better an up-your-bottom review of their business. If they placed a leader on the staff they could operate more efficiently with less people standing around. My advice to fellow Yelpers--don't go to The View Restaurant. The view won't make up for the dissatisfaction. read more

Was expected to be seated somewhere with a "view," seemed like only three inside tables would've offered that. The atmosphere was very reminiscent of an assisted living community with cafeteria style tables and chairs and outdated carpet. Well, it's been over a half year since we came here and things have not improved. We came on a Tuesday. Yes, it's during the snowbird season, but still, the place had maybe 60% of the tables filled. We got seated quickly and then waited almost 10 minutes for our server to come take our drink order. Then another 10 to place our food order. Food was just not coming out of the kitchen for anyone. There was at least a 15-minute time period where nothing came out for any table. It was to the point that many tables were asking about food orders. When ours finally came out after almost 30 minutes, it was good food but just slow as molasses in January in Alaska. And to top it off, our server never came back to check on us until we were done eating, and we had to ask for the check. Total time from the time we sat down to leaving was over an hour and a half, and we weren't the only ones who had bad service. This used to be a nice place to eat that was close to us but not anymore. Hopefully, they figure things out, or they may not be here very long if they don't keep locals happy. read more

WHAT A SURPRISE! I'm just gonna get to the point , this place was excellent! Great view great, excellent food taste for breakfast, Reasonably priced, friendly and clean atmosphere. On a whim, we wanted to try something new...so we ended up at a golf course restaurant. I ate off my dads plate because his potatoes were worth getting off ketosis for! It may have looked overcooked but they were really good. The outer crispiness along with the soft sweet middle was pleasantly delicious. My hubby's 3 egg, 5 inch tall omelet was a perfect medley of flavor while my crisp smoked bacon hit the spot...oh lets not forget my 2 small buttermilk fluffy pancakes "schemerred" liberally with butter topped off to an outstanding, no frill, budget friendly yet with a hint of "eleganza"(mountain view and the lush greenery), childless feeding ritual! Needles to say, I will be back for Saturday prime rib! And by the way, bathroom is nice and clean with an arm sanitary handle. I went here the other day and was pleasantly surprised to see the pleasant views. It became very clear where they got their name from. It was not very busy in the morning and the food was delicious. It was prepared within no time. I had the sun city with biscuits and gravy. My friend had a plate that I believe was called the Mildred. Everything was prepared very well. The service was great as well. Our waitress was there for everything we needed without being at our table every minute. I expected a nice place like this, in a country club to be quite pricey, but it was actually quite reasonable. The only dilemma I have with this restaurant is the location. If it wasn't a 45 minute drive for me, I would be here quite regularly. read more
