It's the only shopping center in Mammoth, and I find it very convenient. Located near the Village Lodge, it has a good mix of restaurants, bars, dessert shops (ice cream and chocolates), and a few souvenir shops. I personally loved how new and clean it is, it really reminds me of some European villages. A nice bonus is the outdoor sofas and chairs for resting. There's also a shuttle bus stop right on the road, making it easy for skiers and snowboarders to stop by after finishing the slopes. Parking is available across the street, with a smaller lot behind the village. Overall, it's a great addition to Mammoth town! Side note: It's Dog-friendly! read more

We paid for a very nice end unit condo, above the shops and restaurants. We were told everything closes at 9pm but it's 10:35pm and a bunch of loud drunk people are laughing, whistling and screaming. Nobody in my family can sleep. If you value rest and want to hit the slopes early, just beware this place is like a slum bar area and nobody enforces rules or curfew. read more

Great spot to visit in Mammoth I didn't stay at The Village, but I spent time walking around and checking it out, and it was a great experience. The layout is clean, well organized, and easy to get around. There's a good mix of restaurants, shops, and open space, and everything feels well maintained. The atmosphere is lively without being overwhelming, and it's a solid place to hang out, grab food, and enjoy the mountain vibe. It's definitely one of the best areas to spend time when you're in Mammoth Lakes. Would absolutely recommend stopping by if you're visiting the town. read more

It's a nice shopping area where the village gondola is located. There's some shopping available for clothes, ice cream, restaurants, toys, general store, etc. The area's pretty small. You can finish browsing the stores in 15 minutes. It currently has some nice Christmas decorations. read more

Cute area of Mammoth to visit for shops, food, and drink! Styled in alpine architecture, it gives off ski chalet town vibes. I came here after I was skied out one afternoon, and browsed the retail stores for ~half an hour. My group also came here one evening for a fantastic dinner at Shelter Distilling and a little bar hopping which ended with late night karaoke at the tiki bar. It's worth visiting while staying in the area! Pretty well connected via the free shuttle service, and there's a gondola between the Village area and Canyon Lodge. read more

This is way overdue but we had the best girls getaway at the end of this past October! The home was clean and had everything we needed. The bedding was comfortable, and the lounging area was perfect for relaxing and catching up. It was very quiet and in a great location, with easy hiking nearby which made our trip even more special. Charming little village nestled in between the mountains. Hubby took me here at the end of summer as part of our vacation. There's a couple of restaurants and souvenir shops. The area is very pet friendly too! Parking is limited but we recommend parking at the public lot in front of the Westin Monache and walking over. We bought a ton of souvenirs and merch from here. The hotel is convenient but it is very loud at night. We heard kids yelling while sledding late into the night on Thursday & Friday. But Saturday night is a whole new low. There is a DJ blasting music and our kids are up crying because it's so loud. It's probably fun for young people but not a good spot for families with young kids. read more

Wow! I can't believe how much Mammoth Lakes has grown since I last skied here. Such a classy resort with some upscale hotels, a beautiful lodge, and this cool village filled with shops, restaurants, coffee stops, etc. We didn't get to stay too long but the shops I visited everyone was very helpful and friendly. There is something for everyone here whether you just want to kick back and people watch, grab the lift to the mountain, eat some tasty food or shop to your hearts delight. As we were leaving, we discovered that the Mammoth Reggae Festival was coming in this weekend. We were kinda bummed we didn't plan better but good to know for next year. They host other music festivals throughout the year along with food, wine and beer events. Can't wait to come back and explore more of what this village has to offer. read more

Love mammoth and this location in particular is really great for skiing, shopping and dining! This review is directed at one bad front desk staff member. We borrowed a shovel from the front desk to dig snow off our car and they hung onto my husband's ID in exchange, putting it in a pile on the desk with 2 or 3 other IDs . The staff member who took his ID was female and very nice. However, when we came to pick up the ID and return the shovel his ID was GONE! The girl who helped us was panicking, it was clear it was not her fault. It was also clear that someone had given my husband's ID to someone else and hadn't checked the name. My husband went behind the front desk to help look and a rude male staff member who also works at the front desk told him it was unlikely he was going to find it. This staff member was completely unhelpful, although it was pretty clear he was the one who had made the mistake!!! Just beware if you deal with the front desk staff at all that there is one rude guy who does not check IDs when giving them back to people, and he will not apologize or offer to help. Luckily the guy who had my husbands ID mailed it back, but it was still a big hassle and I wish that front desk guy hadn't been so careless. read more

The worst place in Mammoth. If you're looking for peace and quite don't stay here. The village charges high rent rates and delivered nothing in return. The bars are open until 2 am, drunk crowd make noise, yields and screams all night. Guests are getting into shouting matches with bar goers, breaking into physical fights. The Village is a great amenity and social hang when in Mammoth Lakes. It's big, beautiful, open air, and there's always something happening. The wide walkways that wind through the space can comfortably accommodate a lot of people, so it never feels crowded. It has a beautiful mountain vibe while being modern at the same time. There's a reasonable pay parking lot directly across the street if you're driving, and the free trolley will drop you off right in the center of it all. I love the variety of restaurants and bars. Campo is a favorite, Pita Pit is pure nostalgia, and I've heard great things about the Mexican restaurant too. I was impressed to discover Shelter Distilling and the wine bar looked great too. Not to mention the ice cream shop! There's something for everyone. No trip to Mammoth is complete without some time here. Check out all they have to offer and plan your visit. read more

This is a grouping of restaurants, bars, and shops that all surround a hotel (the Village Lodge, which has a separate Yelp page). It's a bit touristy which can obviously get obnoxious (encountered a large group of loud and drunk guys). Still, it's nice to walk around and check out a variety of businesses. Plus, it's a cute and cozy area. As far as recommendations go, Shelter Distilling was a rather classy spot for a cocktail. The food options looked pretty basic so we actually left and went to Skadi, an amazing Nordic restaurant (a 5-minute walk from here). I highly recommend it if you want something a little classier (just be sure to make reservations). We actually stayed at the Village Lodge (which has an underground parking garage for guests) but I'm not sure what your parking options are as visitors. They might be limited. read more

This is the only place we've ever lodged at in Mammoth Lakes. Why, because I looked around and other places run about the same cost nightly. For a little bit more, you get a lot. We love how big the rooms are, with a full kitchen and living room. Plus you are able to walk to all the different shopping and restaurants. Never been here during the winter time, it must be very magical with snow all over the place. My husband and I, aren't fancy people. Wow.. all the stores have the correct Covid warning signs. They just clearly do not follow their own rules. They do not enforce them at all. Masks seem to be 100% optional as they clearly enforce nothing in any of the stores in the village.. Every store we walked into had many people in them with out masks.. To say we felt very uncomfortable would be an understatement. Given the fact that this new variant of Covid is exploding you would think they would be more vigorous about masking up. All the stuff we saw all Over the web site about having to wear masks in all public spaces and enhanced cleaning appears to be lip service . We stayed in one of the Village Condos. Pros: 1) The rental had three bedrooms and three bathrooms that could accommodate our large family. The unit was nice enough, although it did show some wear and tear. Cons: 1) The rental only comes with one parking pass. We had three cars since our older kids drove from other parts of the state. Public parking across the street was FIFTY dollars for overnight parking. 2) There was only ONE restaurant that we actually enjoyed - The New York Deli. We tried several other restaurants that were either WAY over priced or the food was just horrible. We came here to hike, so we probably won't be staying here again. I suppose if you come here in the winter to ski, staying here might be worth the easy access to the ski lift, but make sure you bring only one car and either cook your own food or eat out at restaurants not located in the Village. read more

Nice place. Very clean. Try to get a room somewhat close to the elevator. Elevator is at one end of building complex so if you are like us it was a difficult walk for our disabled person. Try to get a room on the 4th level. When the resturants are having outside music it is quite loud. They do stop at 10 so that is a blessing. Bathub/shower has a very high lip so difficult/unsafe to step into. No handles for assistance. Would/will stay her again. read more

At night, it's a nicely lit shopping and dining spot that is expected from a ski resort destination. My fiancé and I arrived around 6:30 pm with no appetite yet and just wanted to walk around first. You can get Mammoth souvenirs like the signature #mammothbeanie and other winter gear. There are familiar chain spots like a Ben & Jerry's and Starbucks. We eventually couldn't resist the smell of the BBQ and ended up at Smokeyard for dinner. In case you want small bites or drinks, some places offered happy hour. Since my hotel wasn't nearby The Village, no store or restaurant really captured my attention enough to make a second visit to the Village. read more

Booking through five star lodging is not the same as booking through The Village directly. Look at these fines! There's no bedding on the beds, and they told us to bring our own blankets. If I had booked through the The village directly this wouldn't be the case. The village rooms have bedding and they don't have this list of fines! And look what happens if you open their bedding, which they keep stored in the closet so you have no closet space. read more

I was happy to see all the signage saying masks required as you enter the village.... and most people are wearing masks and making an effort to keep others safe. But once inside the village you notice no one is enforcing or reminding people, so many people take off their mask or wear it on their chin. These same people also make no effort to stay socially distant so I found I had to work really hard to avoid them. All it would take is a few security people to remind people about mask rule. They use security people here all the time when having events. Hopefully they will step up their game and do a little more to help keep people safe and in turn help local businesses be able to stay open and not have to shut down. read more

The parking here is ridiculous. I parked at the Mammoth brewery which wasn't packed to begin with, went to the brewery and purchased drinks and a growler. Only to find out that unless you're physically staying at the brewery the whole time you cannot park there. Amazing right? Then we go across the street to the Village parking to be greeted by a "parking attendant" and when asked about parking he says "yeah pay at one of the kiosks". We walk around for a little bit and pay at the kiosk. Cool $5 whatever. We get to the car and there's a parking ticket for $35 bucks lol. Yeah ok come find me because I'm not paying that after I just paid for parking. Ya'll don't know how to answer phone calls either because I have no idea what "pay at the meter and mail to above address" means, what meter!? Lmao. This place reminds me of when I was in the military and the stores right outside the base charge ridiculous amounts of money to take advantage of people. The scenery is nice but the people are very rude and absolutely no help. And fix your automated phone bots. read more

If you are staying here, you will be paying a lot. Resort pricing at its finest. The condo/hotel is nice and much more modern than the inn. Very convenient to walk to the gondola and get to canyon. Having all the restaurants and bars within walking distance is also very nice. But...just like the mammoth mountain inn, the mattresses are horrible. I'm in my mid-40's and have a strong back, but one night on those beds, and I feel like someone in their 70's that worked manual labor their entire life. read more

One of our favorite parts of coming to Mammoth is stopping by the village. Each year it seems that the shops close earlier and earlier during mid-week. Not to mention that their store selection is meh. Yes you have a Starbucks! That's awesome....wait it closes at 6pm on a Tuesday evening?!? What's the point of having one?
