The service was so above and beyond, to make sure our anniversary is so special. They made sure we were taken care of and coursed our meals. The food was delicious, impeccable, and so good. We wanted a homey type of ambiance for our anniversary and this outdoor patio was perfect seating. They welcomed us with such amazing service and food. We cannot thank you enough.

Tuna Tataki with Cherry tomatoes and avocado mousse

The Village Bakery gets decent marks for the bakery and breakfast items. This review is for dinner which is hit and miss. Some of my favorite items haven't lasted long on the menu. Tuna tataki: excellent. lightly seared, sashimi-grade tuna with a ginger ponzu sauce. Heirloom Tomato Salad: ok. The flavors didn't quite work. Fried chicken: good; juicy and well-seasoned. The top secret hot sauce isn't that hot. Add a biscuit. Pork ribs with South Carolina mustard sauce. Tasted authentic to me, and I'm partial to Carolina style BBQ. Ravioli: fine-ish. I wouldn't repeat. Servers are nice but get slammed. Once I was able to eat on the back patio on a nice summer night -- very pleasant

We came to Village Bakery & Cafe for their Father's Day prix-fixe brunch and had a really nice time overall. The prix-fixe menu was a great deal and included a muffin, appetizer, entrée, and dessert. We also had a Bloody Mary and some Brut Rosé, and both were good. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and well prepared. The restaurant was packed for Father's Day, with lots of families celebrating, which made for a fun atmosphere. We also loved the bar area, and after brunch we stopped by the bakery next door to pick up a few treats to take home. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is that the meal felt a little rushed. We were in and out in about an hour, including drinks and dessert. Our appetizer arrived almost immediately after the muffins were dropped off, before we'd really had a chance to enjoy them. Throughout the meal, empty plates tended to sit on the table longer than expected, and courses came out very quickly one after another. That said, everyone was friendly, and the manager was especially kind and attentive. I'm sure they were doing their best to keep things moving. We'd definitely come back, but probably on a less busy day so we can relax a bit more, enjoy the patio, and take our time. Great food, great drinks, and a lovely atmosphere--just a little too fast-paced for what we were hoping would be a leisurely experience.

    Shakshouka

The shakshuka was pretty decent combined with the delicious crispy bread, but the cinnamon roll was very dry and felt more like a dinner roll dough than a brioche. The decoration and atmosphere was sooo cute though, it has the settings for a perfect brunch spot, just wish the food was a little better. The service was pretty slow, it took a while for the staff to come around and get the bill so don't come here if you're in a rush.

    Giant marshmallow latte and mocha

Found this place through social media for their giant marshmallow (in any drinks) and we've been coming regularly. Mochas and lattes are amazing. The breakfast sandwich w bacon is our fave too Service is great Ambiance: casual, has 8 window seats

GOOD LUCK FINDING PARKING. Came here for the viral giant marshmallow from TikTok. Ordered a hot chocolate to go with it, as well as a ham and cheese croissant. The hot chocolate was not good. It tasted extremely watered down and the marshmallow was just that--a giant marshmallow that wasn't anything special because of the terrible hot chocolate. I didn't finish it. The ham and cheese croissant had close to no cheese inside and just one piece of thicker cut ham. I liked the ham but my cheese? Nowhere to be found! The croissant itself was buttery and flaky in the best way, but I was surprised to find that the cheese inside was just a tiny piece, hardened to the point that no amount of reheating could revive it. Not to mention their ordering system between food and drinks is completely unorganized. You'll get your drink first and then you don't know when you'll get your food and which area you'll receive it in. Service could have been a bit friendlier too. Don't come here

    Almond croissant and iced latte

This is one of the few brunch spots in the bay that also serves good espresso! I visited on a whim for brunch on a Saturday afternoon, and despite not having a reservation, I was seated with my husband in a few minutes. Staff were friendly and the dishes were high quality. The outdoor patio is perfect - shaded but bright. My almond croissant was wonderfully crunchy but moist, and my iced latte was delicious. My husband's chicken and waffle was tasty also. Afterwards we explored a few of the cute stores nearby. Overall, a relaxed Saturday afternoon well spent.

I grabbed coffee and pastries after eating at their sit-down restaurant next door! I'm not sure why the review is so low -- the staff is friendly, pastries are tasty and vibe is great overall. Worth a try!

I came here for lunch, and I highly recommend making reservations during the weekend. I opted to sit in the outdoor patio, and it was so relaxing there. It's fully covered, so you don't have to worry about the sun or bugs. I got the pancake, and it was massive! It was so good, too!! The service was excellent!

Stopped by for a quick Americano and desert. Unfortunately the experience was just okay. The service was a bit slow even for a simple order. The main issue was the quality of the baker items, the first cookey they tried to give me literally fell apart before it reached my hands. While the atmosphere in Woodside is always relatively pleasant, the execution was lacking this time around. If you need a quick coffee its worth a stop but I wouldn't have high expecations.

We love the Village Pub and were excited to try the Bakery. Unfortunately we were left disappointed by the food and service. Stracciatella do Buffalo Toast ($21): fantastic appetizer. Nicely prepared kale and fresh toasted bread. This was the best dish we tried. Rock Shrimp Linguine ($45): shrimp was cooked well, but the sauce was under seasoned and we couldn't taste the saffron at all. Disappointing for the price. Five-Layer Lasagna Bolognese ($30): good, but not great. Layers were a bit light on meat and the bolognese was bland. It was served on top of what seemed to be a pizza-style tomato sauce. Skillet Brownie ($14): great! We had a few odd interactions with the staff. When ordering the appetizer to share our waiter told us we "look like good eaters" and should order the soup as well. We passed since we were planning on dessert. Later, as our mains were being delivered, a waiter completely unrelated to our table came up and began telling a story about how monks lived longer in the old days because they drank beer instead of water. This went on for a couple minutes as our food got cold. Our appetizer was delivered to the wrong table so we had to wait as it was re-prepared. This almost happened with our dessert as well.

The cinnamon roll, which used to be covered generously with white icing, now barely has any at all.

Do not order delivery from here It seems like the food is not even the same as what they sell in the restaurant. For example, I've been to Village Bakery in person many times and fell in love with their large, fluffy cinnamon rolls with heaps of frosting. For the first time today, I ordered them delivered and they were completely barren, with no frosting at all. Perhaps they changed their recipe. It was bland and forgettable. Thumbs down for wasted time and expense.

Faves: * BAKERY BURGER - 3 stars ($24): Luxury burger was fine, a little soggy so somewhat of a disappointment for the price tag, which doesn't include things like avocado or bacon. French fries were solid. * FRIED CALAMARI - 3.5 stars ($22): Standard calmari, on the oily side. Did not really notice the calabrian chili. * JUMBO STEAMED ARTICHOKE - 3 stars ($22): An artichoke. Maybe I got a dry piece? * GEM LETTUCE - 4 stars ($23): Creamier than I expected but good. Ordered it with the $14 prawns which were deeeelicious. Pricey though all together at $37 eek. Pastries and Desserts * Wonder cookie is chocolate overload * Breakfast sandwich pretty good and flaky * Ham and cheese - just OK

Simple syrup latte and cinnamon coffee cake.

We purchased the black sesame crossiant, which had a nice flaky texture and nuttiness. It also included chocolate as part of the inner layer of the crossiant, so it was partially a black sesame and chocolate crossiant mashup. The outside was topped with a black sesame and cream cheese-like frosting -- I could have had a little less of the cream cheese flavor (generally not a fan of cream cheese), but did enjoy it. If you want to enjoy any of the crossiants at this pop-up, get there early. We arrived only 15 min after their opening and was online for 1/2 hour and almost missed the black sesame and also missed a few of the other pastries already. It seemed like this popup had frequent visitors and that they tended to order in bulk, with each customer ordering multiple boxes of pastries even for a small group. We saw about 15 minutes after we left they were already sold out, so even arriving after the 1/2 hour mark may be too late to enjoy any of these pastries. There were a lot of options for fans of sweet pastries, but no savories at this one. I'll watch to see if the menu expands and maybe go again for the black sesame and a few other options in the future.
