    Almond croissant and iced latte
    Alison V.

This is one of the few brunch spots in the bay that also serves good espresso! I visited on a whim for brunch on a Saturday afternoon, and despite not having a reservation, I was seated with my husband in a few minutes. Staff were friendly and the dishes were high quality. The outdoor patio is perfect - shaded but bright. My almond croissant was wonderfully crunchy but moist, and my iced latte was delicious. My husband's chicken and waffle was tasty also. Afterwards we explored a few of the cute stores nearby. Overall, a relaxed Saturday afternoon well spent.

Found this place through social media for their giant marshmallow (in any drinks) and we've been coming regularly. Mochas and lattes are amazing. The breakfast sandwich w bacon is our fave too Service is great Ambiance: casual, has 8 window seats

I came here for lunch, and I highly recommend making reservations during the weekend. I opted to sit in the outdoor patio, and it was so relaxing there. It's fully covered, so you don't have to worry about the sun or bugs. I got the pancake, and it was massive! It was so good, too!! The service was excellent!

GOOD LUCK FINDING PARKING. Came here for the viral giant marshmallow from TikTok. Ordered a hot chocolate to go with it, as well as a ham and cheese croissant. The hot chocolate was not good. It tasted extremely watered down and the marshmallow was just that--a giant marshmallow that wasn't anything special because of the terrible hot chocolate. I didn't finish it. The ham and cheese croissant had close to no cheese inside and just one piece of thicker cut ham. I liked the ham but my cheese? Nowhere to be found! The croissant itself was buttery and flaky in the best way, but I was surprised to find that the cheese inside was just a tiny piece, hardened to the point that no amount of reheating could revive it. Not to mention their ordering system between food and drinks is completely unorganized. You'll get your drink first and then you don't know when you'll get your food and which area you'll receive it in. Service could have been a bit friendlier too. Don't come here

Stopped by for a quick Americano and desert. Unfortunately the experience was just okay. The service was a bit slow even for a simple order. The main issue was the quality of the baker items, the first cookey they tried to give me literally fell apart before it reached my hands. While the atmosphere in Woodside is always relatively pleasant, the execution was lacking this time around. If you need a quick coffee its worth a stop but I wouldn't have high expecations.

I grabbed coffee and pastries after eating at their sit-down restaurant next door! I'm not sure why the review is so low -- the staff is friendly, pastries are tasty and vibe is great overall. Worth a try!

We love the Village Pub and were excited to try the Bakery. Unfortunately we were left disappointed by the food and service. Stracciatella do Buffalo Toast ($21): fantastic appetizer. Nicely prepared kale and fresh toasted bread. This was the best dish we tried. Rock Shrimp Linguine ($45): shrimp was cooked well, but the sauce was under seasoned and we couldn't taste the saffron at all. Disappointing for the price. Five-Layer Lasagna Bolognese ($30): good, but not great. Layers were a bit light on meat and the bolognese was bland. It was served on top of what seemed to be a pizza-style tomato sauce. Skillet Brownie ($14): great! We had a few odd interactions with the staff. When ordering the appetizer to share our waiter told us we "look like good eaters" and should order the soup as well. We passed since we were planning on dessert. Later, as our mains were being delivered, a waiter completely unrelated to our table came up and began telling a story about how monks lived longer in the old days because they drank beer instead of water. This went on for a couple minutes as our food got cold. Our appetizer was delivered to the wrong table so we had to wait as it was re-prepared. This almost happened with our dessert as well.

The cinnamon roll, which used to be covered generously with white icing, now barely has any at all.

Do not order delivery from here It seems like the food is not even the same as what they sell in the restaurant. For example, I've been to Village Bakery in person many times and fell in love with their large, fluffy cinnamon rolls with heaps of frosting. For the first time today, I ordered them delivered and they were completely barren, with no frosting at all. Perhaps they changed their recipe. It was bland and forgettable. Thumbs down for wasted time and expense.

Faves: * BAKERY BURGER - 3 stars ($24): Luxury burger was fine, a little soggy so somewhat of a disappointment for the price tag, which doesn't include things like avocado or bacon. French fries were solid. * FRIED CALAMARI - 3.5 stars ($22): Standard calmari, on the oily side. Did not really notice the calabrian chili. * JUMBO STEAMED ARTICHOKE - 3 stars ($22): An artichoke. Maybe I got a dry piece? * GEM LETTUCE - 4 stars ($23): Creamier than I expected but good. Ordered it with the $14 prawns which were deeeelicious. Pricey though all together at $37 eek. Pastries and Desserts * Wonder cookie is chocolate overload * Breakfast sandwich pretty good and flaky * Ham and cheese - just OK

Simple syrup latte and cinnamon coffee cake.

Friendly staff and great pastries and coffee. Nice tucked away location in woodside. We got the cinnamon coffee cake which was moist and not too sweet. A giant chocolate chip cookie, slightly dry, and a latte with simple syrup. Very decent, not the strongest coffee, but adequate. Would come back again.

    Chilaquiles
    Ariane D.

We ate at The Bakery Cafe in Woodside, and it was an outstanding experience! The service was excellent, and the food was simply amazing. I had the chilaquiles, and they were the best I've ever had--perfectly cooked, not soggy or dry, with perfectly poached eggs. The pancake was out of this world, and the French fries were served in a charming little cornet, just like in France. The presentation of every dish was spot-on. The restaurant itself felt cozy, clean, and stylish. The only downside for me was a 5% fee added to our bill, described as a charge for "San Mateo County employer-mandated expenses." This is likely related to local labor laws requiring restaurants to contribute to programs like paid sick leave or other employee benefits, and some businesses pass that cost to customers. I wasn't happy about this fee, so I might reconsider returning.

Every dish was beautifully plated but, more importantly, actually delicious. You can tell there's real attention to detail in every course. The highlights for us were the perfectly cooked beef dish with the rich sauce and potato gratin, the risotto, the strawberry tart dessert, and honestly the bread service alone deserves recognition. Even the little sweets at the end felt special. Great wine selection too, which made it perfect for an anniversary dinner. Service was polished, attentive, and professional without feeling overly formal or uncomfortable. The only downside was the reservation/seating situation. We weren't able to get reservations and ended up seated outside on a pretty cold evening. Thankfully the heaters helped a lot, so it was still comfortable, but it did feel a little odd seeing the dining room only about half full while outdoor guests stayed outside. Also worth mentioning: this place is definitely pricey. Not somewhere we'd casually stop into on a random Tuesday. But for a special occasion like an anniversary, the overall experience, atmosphere, presentation, and quality made it feel worth it. We'd absolutely come back again -- just with reservations next time.

Definitely worth getting the umami fries as they were seasoned to perfection. A perfect starting side! Horsefeather is a perfect brunch spot to stop by and try in this Old Town and Country Palo Alto plaza. I have never heard of this chain nor in their other locations before and was definitely satisfied afterwards with their great dishes and their aesthetically modern decorated interior. The dishes here are American so you'd get what you typically get for breakfast from scrambles to French Toast, and we ordered the French Toast, the Chicken and Waffles, and a Salad during our visit here. All of what was ordered was perfect and beautifully plated upon arrival and out of all that was ordered, I have to say the chicken and waffles with their matcha butter & syrup was their standout dish. I have never seen matcha infused with butter but it was perfect and complimented the waffle just right. The chicken was fried and juicy inside and the waffle in general was toasted with just the right amount of crisp on the outside and soft interior. French Toast was a definite close contender too, where the toast was still gooey soft as expected and served with syrup & cream on the side. Salad was good but nothing too extraordinary about it. The staff here were all very nice and on a busy lunch day, I was surprised & pretty sure just lucky was able to get a table in less than 10 min on a Sunday. For weekend brunch, Horsefeather is a perfect spot to visit & enjoy the pre-afternoon before enjoying Palo Alto. We had no idea a restaurant like this was out in Woodside. The unassuming cabin led to a rustic bar, which then led into a greenhouse room, surrounded by redwoods.
