I'm impressed with the woman who runs this tiny restaurant across from the iconic Fisherman wharf sigh in Steveston. She puts out solid fresh burgers with nice spongy sesame buns and crisp lettuce and a fat slice of tomato. The wild salmon burger is a deal at $11.99 and tasty! I was surprised to see she is offering "Seafood service", I think she will prepare the fresh catch you can buy steps away off the boats. I might give it a try and report back. read more

Located along the board walk dock of the Fisherman's Wharf on Steveston. It's a tiny to go burger joint that serves hotdogs, burgers, fries, and drinks. Hardly any seats inside but plenty of benches outside. Burgers and hot dogs are cooked fresh off the grill. I wouldn't compare this to artisan burgers nor would I use the same standards when reviewing it. It's good enough. It's a street burger or hotdog "stand" comparable to the one's you see along metropolitan city streets in New York or Toronto. People flock to it. Are they connoisseur dogs? Nope. But they are good in their own right. Street food! It tastes good when ur really hungry or when you just came off of a walk or running along the boardwalk or strolling with a friend and wanted to get a bite. As you can see, it's not as sloppy as some big name burger joints I've had before in my reviews. Ahem! Carls Jr and Burger Priest! Veggies are fresh. There's ketchup, mustard and relish. No other bells and whistles. The place is really small but clean. Menu is simple. The cook was pleasant. Plenty of parking along the street for 3 hrs maximum. Decent burgers and fries if you want to grab and go. Let me just say right off the bat: Steveston has many better places for burgers. But, not everyone wants to necessarily sit down in a restaurant to satiate their burger needs. If you just want to grab a burger and run, Village Burgery might fit your bill. You can order at the window, and you must get your burger to go. Seating is pretty much limited to the benches that are scattered throughout Steveston Village and Wharf. The burgers themselves would not be what you would call "artisan" burgers. In other words, the patties are most likely frozen rather than freshly made each day. That said, the food is on par with any big-name fast food place. This place appears to be a mom-and-pop operation; depending on how busy it is, you might have to wait a while for your food if there are other people ahead of you since there is only one cook. Prices are really reasonable, however, especially considering all the other restaurants in Steveston charge a premium. The french fries are excellent; I wonder if they deep-fry in lard like the good old days. If you need a takeout burger, head to Village Burgery. read more

I have a fondness for this place now. I come back to try something new and of course my favourite is still the old fashioned hamburger and fries. Although my dietary restrictions won't allow me to eat fries, I will still venture forth and keep coming back. I don't know what's up with those other reviewers. The way I see it. if they're on Yelp and only have a few reviews, they're just users. Not members of the community who like to support those who serve. On this day, I was greeted with a nice surprise. I got to try their lamb skewers. They take a bit longer to prepare and cook but it can be worth the wait. Nobody does them like they do here in Steveston. Hmmmmmmm. I can just imagine if they took that same meat and made it into a wrap or a burger. Cumin and spices make for a wonderful scent and flavour that would be awesome in a burger! (hint hint....wink wink, maybe I should ask if they can do something like this for me). To be honest, I have nothing but goodness to say here. They work hard, try hard and mesh with the community. To those who may be reading this, If you use Yelp, You'll understand that the crew who are elite aren't always perfect, but they've committed to the Yelp community and try to show the good sides of the community that they serve and write for. They do not get paid, and try to give their honest opinions, but do it so with respect. I like to read all the reviews of a place, but realize that many with less than 10 reviews tend to be those who are just there to vent their opinion or to artificially prop up a business. However, there are those that are really genuine. Do something nice and say something nice and you get nice in return. That's how respect is earned. Sadly your better off getting a fast food burger in terms of both quality and price, homemade they say, doesn't mean they're good, not fresh, overworked and dry. This is a normal Burger Joint near Steveston where the tourists are. I was disappointed in the burger. There was no flavor in the patty itself. It is catered to tourists in the area, therefore, it is understandable if they don't want to put too much effort into the spices given that they already have a financial foothole, however, all is not lost...the fries were nice and crispy. This is important to me with fries. The service was good and the prices were as you expected given the market but not out of reach. The only complaint is really add some spices to the patty. Shockingly bad. I ordered a burger & fries for $8.95 (price & location lured me in). The fries were decent, but the burger was inedible. My 11yo son couldn't take more than a few bites and his standard for good burgers is low (think McDonald's). The meat tasted so odd, I actually wondered if it was rancid. Place was taken over by new owner and we decided to try . I placed my order for a tuna burger . We sat down and a second customer came in placed an order and sat down . The female who ordered after us was provided her order first!! Then he tells us to wait a few more mins ( which we had waited at least 20 mins so far) we eventually received our order my tuna was super dry . My wife and I were buying fish at Stevenson and decided to check this place out. We ordered the large hand cut fries. The wait was a bit long (more than 5 minutes, especially considering that the place was almost empty), but the fries were well worth it: solid portion, fantastic taste, and fairly priced. The service was also incredible, the owner noticed that our bag of fish was leaking and gave us a tray for our car for free. Neither my wife nor I even saw the leak! Had he not done that I'm sure the car would be smelling terrible right now. All in all, despite the slow speed, their service and the taste of their fries were satisfying enough that I would recommend this place to all my friends. read more

I had a very good experience when I tried their foods last Saturday. It was a lovely day. The owner gave us a very good recommendation to their burgers. We tried salmon, oyster burger combo. They were fantastic! Happy as we all have got what we expected! Food is fresh and delicious! Owner is pretty friendly. He gave us a try on some other foods and they are also good! We will definitely come back and try other kinds of burgers next time! When I was there, everything is in good order. Under new management. Family owned with friendly service. Had the Halibut burger, it was fresh, lightly pan fried, moist and delicious.

I was there in last Saturday and ordered a bacon cheese burger. Waiting time was told about 7 minutes and I got the burger about 10 minutes. Great taste and good price. I will try the Oyster Burger next time, it looks good. :) read more

Have been to this place a few times. Very friendly people and good food, especially the hand cut fries and tasty homemade beef burgers really satisfied me! Rude rude rude! Thought we would try it since yelp said it was 5 star. Big mistake on so many levels. Orders halibut burger and fries. Lady walks in after us, orders and sparked a conversation in Chinese with the guy. No idea what they said but she ended getting her food before us!!! What?!?! Dock 2.5 mark! Get our burger and it was "meh". Not enough sauce in my opinion. Dock 0.5 since I could've asked for more. By the last bit of my burger I still ha not receive my fries! I asked and they forgot so I told them forget I don't want them. He then proceeded to tell me the other lady took my fries.. Great she took them, I still don't have any. He kept telling me someone took them. I was so annoyed that I told him it doesn't mater that she took them. He should know who gets what order. Of course he did not own up.
