Our double date crew has a tradition of meeting in Wheaton as the perfect geographic middle ground, and this time we wanted Greek. Molos did not just deliver, it set a new standard for our little group dinners. We started with the Pikilia tasting plate and built our own trio of spreads. The roasted red pepper hummus was the unanimous table favorite, bold and deeply flavorful. The melitzanosalata was earthy and subtly sweet, a quieter but beautiful complement. The tirokafteri was good on its own but genuinely shone when swirled together with the other two. And the pita. That pita. Pillowy and soft with just enough structure to carry a generous pile of spread without collapsing. Outstanding. The fried zucchini with skordalia was fresh and light tasting despite being fried, a real trick. The potatoes needed a touch more salt to fully wake up but were otherwise solid. The saganaki was a table highlight, lit tableside with a proper OPA moment, gooey and beautifully crisped on top. Think mozzarella stick that went to finishing school. Mains were all exceptional. The filet mignon was wonderfully cooked, the EVO lemon sauce bringing a bright refreshing contrast to the richness of the beef. The pork chops were well charred and seasoned with the same confidence. The chicken ala feta was bright, light, and satisfying all at once. Dessert was a sampler of everything on the menu, all some gorgeous variation of creamy whipped filling, phyllo dough, honey, and nuts. Every single one cohesive and complementary. We tried them all and had no notes. We sat outside on a lovely evening, left with leftovers for days, and paid a price that felt almost unreasonably fair for what we got. The menu and the space are a lot bigger than when I was here in 2022. Prices have also gone up, at least for the mains; that's life. The atmosphere is still delightful with little sparkle lights along the windows and plenty of outdoor seating. They've added an Instagram wall ("Ouzo made me do it"). They now have a proper roasted Greek potato on the menu, and a vegetarian moussaka which I'm very excited about. Vegetarian items still not labeled; GF are. For mains, and vegetarians can get the spanakopita; a buttered macaroni with cheese; or combine various tasty dips from the appetizer section. There's also salad which I ignore. The online menu has a few appetizers I didn't see (zucchini with skordalia! Oven-baked lima beans!). Warning, at least where I was sitting: the booths can move (not nailed down) - be careful when you get up. I got the chef's special spanakopita/tiropita and the roasted potato; be very specific when ordering as I was served the special "Molos Greek potato" with garlic yogurt and shredded cheese, which was fine but not what I wanted. The spanakopita and tiropita were tasty, with a good ratio between filo and filling, served on a folded cloth napkin (great idea, even perfect filo-wrapped items can be a bit greasy). Service started a little slow, as there was apparently a big party (they do that and they cater now). It was OK though I'm not sure English was my server's first language. I'll be back for the moussaka, which looks great (someone at the next table ordered it) and will be very precise when ordering my roasted Greek potato. Molos Greek Taverna offers what we don't see a lot of in the area: upscale Greek restaurants. And they have a solid offering! Located a bit off the main downtown area of Wheaton, it's still very easy to find. Walking in you are met by a friendly staff and, upon taking your table, and even friendlier wait staff. It's always refreshing when they are truly happy to see you for a meal. We gave the menu a once over and, naturally, ordered the Saganaki to start. It was tasty and primed us for the main course. Of course I had a gyro plate and it was delicious! What really made it special was the atmosphere though. The entire time we were there we were relaxed and felt right at home. I love that downtown Wheaton has a little bit of everything! I finally came to Molos for my birthday from the outside. It looks quite small, but we were seated all the way in the back which turned out to be nicely spacious yet still intimate. You are a group of four, and one person had never had Mediterranean food before here's what we ordered for the table: 5/5- Grilled Octopus- a great hot starter for those who enjoy seafood, perfectly tender and flavorful with oregano and lemon. 3/5 Tasting Plate- Included three dips: - Meliizanosalata- eggplant dip - Skordalia (GF)- whipped potatoes with garlic unfortunately the garlic was very strong and overpowered the dip. - Tzatziki (GF) - also extremely garlic, which made it hard to enjoy One major plus the restaurant offers a ton of gluten-free options, including gluten-free pita bread, which is such a rare and a welcome find! Dinner: 5/5- Horiatiki (GF)- Greek village salad with vine, ripened, tomatoes, cucumber, barrel, aged feta, red onions, peppers, Kalamata, olives, and an oregano. I'm not a huge fan of olives, but I do appreciate the flavor they add to the salad, the small portion was perfect, especially paired with two grilled souvlaki skewers- tender, juicy juicy and well seasoned. 2/5- Greek Potatoes- These were a mess from me. Typically Greek potatoes are crispy with a bright zest of lemon but these like both honestly Petes grocery store does them butter. Service our server was wonderful. I initially ordered a Cosmo, but it tasted strongly of black licorice. Without hesitation, he happily switched it for a glass of red wine. Most of my Greek dining experiences are late nights at coneys in Detroit. I order the same dishes every single time. A cup of chicken lemon rice and a small Greek salad. At Molos, I ordered the same. The chicken lemon rice soup was pure heaven with complex flavors and depth. The salad was hearty and filling. The atmosphere of Molos felt very casual, yet fancy Greek. Tables with well behaved children, first dates, after work gathering all blended well together in the small dining room. What a lovely experience! read more

Molos needs a second try with me. I went with a group and we had a big party with us. We were dining at 7:30 pm and our table had ordered quite a bit of food. I don't think I got the full experience I wanted though. When walking in, it was a bit confusing because there were two entrances. I came through the one side and a customer had to direct me that the front is where the host stand is. I suggest some signage for people that walk in that door to help direct them. The menu offered some options that were different to me and I was willing to try. I really enjoyed the watermelon salad. That was my favorite appetizer. The octopus was also delicious. We received two tentacles and shared with a couple of people. For an entree I ordered the Lobster Pasta. I don't normally order pasta at a Greek restaurant, but I was curious. The sauce was a vodka creamy sauce and they were generous with the lobster inside. By the time we wanted to order dessert, we couldn't because we were told the kitchen was closed. We were basically shut off and didn't receive much of a warning. it was disappointing because no one said anything about closing time or kitchen closing. So that threw me off. While our server was nice and accommodating, I was very much so looking forward to having dessert and couldn't without warning. Pricewise, the food was priced at average. My partner and I came here. Cute little place downtown. Right by the train- you can see it while in the restaurant depending on where you are sitting It was not busy when we were there- service was not great. Server rarely ever came by. We had to get up and ask for check and then get up and remind her and then get up with our credit card to hand to her But the food was phenomenal. The chicken with feta was so incredibly tender and delicious. The mousaka was pretty good too. But I'd def get the chicken next time Their dessert menu had no prices next to it which we didn't like. We ordered something that had whip cream on top with shredded baklava tasting dry noodle thing. We didn't like the texture of the dried noodle thing after it's been in your mouth but the beginning bites are full of flavor. I went there at 6:00 on a Friday night. I was surprised at how nice it is inside, with a very homey feel. It had the perfect balance of having plenty of other diners, yet being able to be seated quickly. The service was very friendly and efficient, with plenty of staff taking care of you. As a guy who drinks a lot of water, I also liked having the bottle of water served to my table automatically. I ordered a small, Greek salad which was fresh and tasty. My main course was the Colorado lamb shank with Greek oven-baked potatoes. It is also available with rice or fries if you prefer. The lamb shank was delicious, very tender and perfectly seasoned. What really surprised me was the tomato sauce. When I've had this dish at other good Greek restaurants, the accompanying tomato sauce was a non-factor, a simple sauce. The sauce here at Molos had a more complex taste to it, which added some nice flavor, yet didn't detract from the flavorful lamb. In summary, the ambiance is pleasant, the service is excellent, the people friendly, and the menu is extensive. As I looked around, I saw lots of couples, families, and groups of friends - all happy. What an amazing place! Made a reservation here for an early dinner as we were nearby for a family holiday party. When we entered, Yia Yia was at the hostess table and we were told by our server that all the recipes were hers! We started with some meatballs and feta fries - yum! My one daughter ate half the meatballs on her own! Other daughter had the lemon rice soup. For entrees we had two kids pastas, a lamb chop entree and an orzo and shrimp special. The kids took most of theirs home as they filled up on bread and appetisers, but we finished ours and lived every bite. Save room for dessert because they have some really unique offerings - sadly we did not! I hope we are in the area again because this place is so inviting and just great place to have a really authentic meal. All in was about $200. read more

Went here on Saturday at 5 for a family birthday dinner. The inside was decorated super cutely and was a lot bigger than it looks. It was empty when we came in, but quickly filled up by the time we got our appetizer. It does get a little loud when it is crowded, so if you're looking for a more quiet setting, I would come around when they open. The dining areas were very clean. Our server was attentive and helpful with explaining the dishes, and the bussers were quick to clear our table throughout the meal. Highlights include the saganaki being lit table side, the birthday baklava treat, and the overall freshness of the food. I got the souvlaki in a pita and the chicken was juicy and seasoned well. The fries were not too greasy or soggy and they gave a large portion. The standout was definitely the side of tzatziki! It paired perfectly with the pita, chicken, and fries. Reservation were made, so we were seated immediately upon arrival. The hostess, who I believe is also the owner, kindly asked if we preferred a high-top table, and we happily agreed. Our server was warm and attentive, taking our drink orders right away. We started with the calamari to share, and it was absolutely perfect. One of my pet peeves is when restaurants pad appetizer plates with salad to justify entrée-level prices--but not here. This dish was all calamari, beautifully cooked and generously portioned. For my entrée, I ordered the Baked Greek Chicken with potatoes, while my friends chose the Pastichio and Moussaka. The food was excellent--flavorful and satisfying--but it's worth noting that Molos offers a modern twist rather than strictly traditional Greek fare. Service throughout the evening was top-notch. The staff was attentive without being intrusive, and the ambiance was calming with a touch of Mykonos charm in the decor. Recently had a large party in a private room at Molos Greek Taverna. Everything was wonderful. The owners were very attentive, and easy to work with in planning our event. The staff did a great job, they were on top of everything. Tricia could not have been better. The food got RAVES! Their Filet Mignon was the best I have ever tasted (I used to give top 'creds' to a well-known Steak House , but this was the best Filet Mignon I have ever tasted. The Salmon, and Seafood Pasta were both great hits as well. Appetizers were tops as well. Cannot say enough good words for the evening!! Highly recommend!!!! read more

Had a reservation for a Saturday night for my wife's birthday. We arrived a little early which was not a problem because they had open tables. They wanted to sit us by the door but I asked for a different table. Tables for 2 are very small! We were greeted by our server Bob who was very nice but seemed rushed. We told him it was our first time and he asked if we were celebrating anything. We told him a birthday. We started with a bottle of their Greek red wine which was amazing except he spilled some on our appetizer plates and never brought back new ones. Since my wife is Gluten free,they have many good items to choose from which is a plus. Started with the cold appetizer tasting plate Pikilia. We had the Taramosalta which consisted of whipped Greek cod and potatoes ( Our favorite) ,Tirokafteri which was whipped Spicey feta and Skordalia which was whipped potatoes and garlic. (Our least favorite) Came with gluten free pita . Our main entrees were Souvlaki with chicken and pork. It comes with fries but we asked to substitute the fries for their Molos Greek potatoes. I think the server got confused because we got both and paid extra. Also had the Greek pork chops with roasted potatoes. Very good but could have had a dipping sauce as they were slightly dry. Would have loved to give them 5 stars as the food is amazing but service is lacking. Empty plates are not cleaned in a timely manner and since they close at 9pm you feel rushed. Plus they never acknowledged my wife's birthday when other patrons received a free dessert. We will definitely be back ,maybe in the summer when they have outdoor seating to try a few more of their authentic homemade Greek dishes. read more

Tried this place a few weeks ago and have been back twice since. Food is extremely flavorful, fresh and portion sizes are generous. A few dining rooms to choose from, but great for a night out with friends, family or date night. Service is good, but when it gets busy you may have to wait for a bit. I'm so glad to have found an excellent Greek restaurant, and I will definitely be coming back in the future. I came here last night for the first time with my boyfriend and loved it. It was a great spot for a date night. The atmosphere is nice and relaxing, and the decor is super cute and modern! Service was great! The food was amazing. We ordered the saganaki and it was perfect, and the portions were large! I ordered the lamb chops (5) for dinner with a side of Greek potatoes. Lamb was cooked just how I like it and had a ton of flavor, and the potatoes were delicious, lemony, and had just the right amount of seasoning. I enjoyed the Mavrodaphne wine with dinner. So far, the few Greek restaurants I've been to have this wine. It's very sweet and rich. It's an excellent choice if you're a sweet wine lover. We came on a Friday night and it was quite busy. We did make a reservation in advance. This place is perfect for both group dinners and romantic date nights. Always amazing! Some of my family go to Greece every year and this year they came back from a two week trip and wanted to go to Molos!! I asked 'Aren't you tired of Greek food? You just came back from a two week trip'! I got a bunch of very loud 'NOs'! So off to Molos we went!!! Even the Greek side of the family raves about the food! We bring everyone here and our out of state and out of country family makes a point to come here...every. single. visit. Tips for your visit is to treat yourself and try the specialty drinks and dishes. Don't stick with what you know...you've had baklava - now try bougatsa!!!! :) You know what gyros is and can get it anywhere so splurge and get souvlaki but don't waste time with fries - get the potatoes!! Can't decide on the appetizer - get pikilia so you can pick 3 spreads and try them out. Watch for the days and times they are open and call ahead to see if you need a reservation just to be on the safe side. Very excited to have Molos in downtown Wheaton! The food was great - we loved the trio of mini gyros, it was very fun. The saganaki is a classic and they even light it on fire for you in the dining room. They also have fun greek sodas on the menu. The service was great and we didn't have to wait for a table. I LOVE black licorice. While the drink itself has changed on the menu (replace vodka with ouzo) - the bar tender made it for me. It's delicious - but you must love licorice / ouzo. Definitely one of my favorite drinks out there. For starters - we got the baked feta. Really delicious and perfect on the bread they give you to start. For entrees - we got the lamb burger and Seafood pasta. My husband loved the mixture of seafood / flavors in his pasta and while I liked my burger, it wasn't my favorite - more sauce would have been ideal. The most memorable thing about last night's meal--besides the excellent food--was the hospitality of the staff. We were greeted warmly and seated promptly by host Jimmy who periodically checked in on us. Server Sam helped orchestrate our meal, recommending dishes and following up to make sure we were enjoying ourselves--which we were! Sam's sense of humor clicked with ours, resulting in lots of laughs. Over the course of 2-1/2 hours, the five of us made our way through appetizers (grilled octopus and flaming saganaki), mains (various forms of gyros with feta french fries, salmon), piping hot loukoumades (donuts) three bottles of wine, and on-the-house shots of something much better than ouzo. My friend and I decided to explore the menu a bit so shared a variety of items. We ordered Greek Meatballs, Avgolemono soup, Baked Greek Chicken, and Greek Salad. The meatballs were delicious with a yogurt olive oil swirl around it. The chicken was a little dry and lacked the flavor of lemon and seasonings I expected.
