First of all, if you know anything about me... you would know that I was born to be a 50 girl! And boy does this place fit my vibe! The inside is so adorable, and perfectly themed! It feels almost like stepping back in time! I especially enjoyed the music as it just brought the whole experience together. :) The menu had a Myriad of options! So many different burgers, apps, and honestly so many options that I can't even remember them all! I was personally very intrigued by the many different burger options and decided to go with the Burnin' love burger! And it was spectacular!! A perfectly cooked patty coated with a delicious slice of Jack cheese, fresh Jalapenos, hot sauce, salsa and (are you ready for this?) thick fried pickles! I especially enjoyed the homemade burger buns! And are you ready for the kicker.... this burger was only eight dollars! I mean if that isn't incredible, I don't know what is. And it came with a side of potato chips. Doesn't get much better than that price wise I tell ya. I also ordered a basket of French fries, and they were just about perfect! Salty and crispy and absolutely splendid. I wish I had taken some pictures, but I was so hungry and excited that I forgot! After lunch I of course had to get a milkshake! I decided to go with the chocolate cherry one. It had absolutely delectable cherry ice cream and an incredible amount of chocolate and cherry pieces all throughout! My waitress was also spectacular!! Went in today around 3:00pm on our way home. There were only 5 vehicles in the parking lot. The host showed us to the last booth on the right side. We sat down and waited then one at a time we went to the restroom. We waited some more and the waitress helped the people in the other booths. We waited 15-20 minutes and she never came to take our order. She had however waited on people who came in after we did. We finally left and told the host what happened. We have been there several times because we camp near by. And they were so busy we had to wait for a table. We were never treat badly before. I believe the waitress was intentionally not waiting on us. She was young, dark hair pulled up and wear dark glasses. I'd have to think tw before going again. We enjoyed this restaurant as we were just passing through. So much to choose from but delicious food! My son and I split a large cheeseburger sub (the picture only shows one half) and my hubby got the John Wayne burger. We shared onion rings. For dessert we got an Andes Mint milkshake, a strawberry cheesecake milkshake, and a peanut butter ice cream with hot fudge and peanut butter cups sundae (#1 under sundaes- picture is after I took a few bites) and they were all delicious! Very cute 50's style restaurant that is very busy. Lots and lots of choices except for what I would want, a Bleu Cheese Burger with crispy onion straws. Bleu cheese dressing is a terrible choice. All burgers are cheap and in my opinion lacking. The buns are homemade and tough to chew. The burger was supposed to be medium rare but it was over cooked. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Their pizzas are nice and big. Not too greasy or too much sauce. Two can normally feed my family of six for dinner and have leftovers. Their wings are absolutely delicious. I always got the mild and would mix ranch with it. The mild wasn't too spicy, but it did leave a bit of a burn. Their fries are delicious as well. The ice creams are always delicious as well. Perfect for an after school or game snack. The only thing is the parking. I understand the location leaves little room to work with, but that's what keeps us from coming more often. Which is why I cannot give 5 stars. I am crippled and can't walk far on uneven terrain. There aren't many parking options for me. So even if I were with just my kiddos, I don't know if I'm going to be able to get a spot close enough to go in. read more

The fried apps (mac & cheese wedges and breaded mushrooms) were perfect and not greasy. Hot as heck too! I ordered the mac & cheese skillet, the baby demanded carbs, with some fried chicken cutlet. I don't blame them for the saltiness; salt is hard to see when you're busy as all get out, and they were!!! A sign of a great place. My husband ordered the roast beef, mashed potatoes and brown gravy. The meat was SUPER tender and flavorful, the mashed potatoes were real, and the gravy was the brown packet stuff. The bite I had was very re-order-able, I'd just skip the gravy and ask for the beef broth. The maple walnut milkshake was just enough, as was my husband's peanut butter milkshake. The peanut butter ice cream is homemade and perfectly peanut butter! The portions are huge and we ordered smalls too! All in all a 4.5 star experience brought to a 5 due to the staff (awesome and friendly!!!), majority of the food quality, and the options offered for meals and desserts. read more

This place was a great find in the middle of nowhere. The fried pickles were amazing with a hint of spice & ranch. The duke burger was delicious with the homemade bun. The fresh cut fries are standard to their type of style. Chocolate shake was a great treat. My family loved the house salad, cheese burger sub, fried mac n cheese & tornados ice cream. I didn't try them so I can't really comment on them, but if they are anything like what I did eat I am sure they are delicious. Harshbarger's is one hell of a trip to the classic area of diners, an atmosphere you don't see a lot in restaurants nowadays, which is a possitive thing to note to stand out from the crowd. Not much to look at from the outside, but a cute step back in time inside. Staff was friendly and helpful and food came out in a reasonable time. My milkshake, made with their homemade ice cream, was delicious. Hamburger was good, although a bit small. I had a ton of fries which I could not finish. They seemed a bit old and rubbery, but they were hot when they arrived. Wife got fried shrimp and another guest ordered fish & chips. Both the fried fish and shrimp seemed rather dark, possibly from old oil in the fryers. Fish coating was also rather hard and seemed overdone. However, the biggest complaint from this visit was the extreme heat inside the building. It was 90+ degrees in there (confirmed by the waitress). We used Yelp to find a place to eat dinner during our long drive home. If you have the time to sit down for lunch or dinner, it's way better to find an independent business to support than to go to a forgettable chain restaurant. The food here was great and the service was very friendly. It's kind of awkward to be a lactose intolerant person in a place that specializes in ice cream and shakes but the waitress was extremely helpful by getting me a sample of their chocolate Italian ice to try. That's what I got for dessert and I was pretty happy with it, however, I still recommend the restaurant start serving soy or coconut milk ice cream so I can have one of their decadent Sundaes! read more

Went here with the wife after voting in the primary election. Nice place. Some interesting decor. Very friendly staff. I opted for the Hot Rod burger, comes with chili and chips. It was ok. The bun was good. Can't go wrong for $4.59. The wife ordered two hotdogs which she said was ok. We ended our meal with ice cream, which was pretty good.
