Just had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend tea with my family! This teahouse is so cute! Decorations start in the parking lot with tea pots everywhere. This weekend was a set menu. There was peach cobbler tea and Paris tea. The first course was a salad with apples and walnuts alongside a macaroni and cheese quiche. You read that right! I never had anything quite like that quiche, and I promise you, our ramekins were scraped empty! It was the best bite of the afternoon for sure. Then came a lemon scone with cream and raspberry curd. Delicious. Then came the tower of sandwiches and cakes. Cucumber sandwich, egg salad sandwich, Waldorf chicken salad sandwich, salmon mousse sandwich, and various desserts. This was the cutest place ever!! There's some parking in the back but also street parking wasn't too bad either. The WHOLEEEE place is decorated head to toe, like not a space was spared. It's gorgeous and welcoming and the people were so kind. The food was delicious and our tea included soup and salad in the beginning as well as a full teapot and lots of desserts. Came to Village Teahouse with my boyfriend's family for afternoon tea and it was so cute and fun! They have a huge selection of teas and there is definitely something for everyone. Most people get the full tea set + meal that comes with sweets, sandwiches, salad, and a choice of quiche or soup. Though it may not look like a lot of food, it was definitely a filling meal. None of the food blew me away, though, and it was pretty pricey. I would say you definitely are paying for the experience. read more

We loved everything about this teahouse! The decorating was terrific-there was not one detail overlooked. It was still decorated for Christmas and sugar cubes had holly on them! I guess you pay for the experience? The tea was not good, it was bitter and over seeped. Green tea should not be boiled of seeped for that long. They should know how to do tea at a tea room. The high tea food portion was so disappointingly small. The à la carte tea sandwich is pathetic how small it is. The only positive is that it tasted not bad. Staff, service, food, and vibes at Village Teahouse were beyond my expectations. Their tea menu was extensive and a lot to choose from. Ranging from florals to sweet to herbals. We chose a tea meal so we were able to get unlimited refills and they gave you the option to choose new teas for each refill. We Specifically choose the Katherine Tea Meal and the tier of food is adorable! We each got our own teapot and went through ~3 refills each and tried each other's tea. Staff was super sweet and attentive. They made sure we were taken care of and got our refills right away! Typically it is a 2 hour seating, but we did not feel rushed and had enough time to spill tea with each other They also have a small gift shop when you enter the building and this place gave off a victorian tea house vibe. Had quite a disappointing experience. Second tea house I've been to in the area. Upon arrival, we entered exactly 3 minutes before our reservation, and the (older blonde) lady at the register was checking someone out. She appeared very flustered, asking our name and said "oh you are early, but luckily we have your table ready" like it was quite an imposition. Next, when I made the reservation, I requested a high chair. When we were seated, there was no high chair so I politely asked if we could get one, and she again said "oh okay, but you're going to have to wait" like it was too much to ask, as we carried a young child in our party. He is a very well behaved, and well mannered young child. He quietly sat, ate, and played the whole meal. But he is still very young, so he babbles and doesn't know not to talk over people. So when this same server was taking our order and he was babbling, she waved her hand at his head shushing him "be quiet now". His mom was already correcting him. That is in no way your place, and he is not your child to discipline. This surprisingly poor, disrespectful and unprofessional service has turned me off from returning sadly. read more

Horrible experience, I hate leaving negative reviews but this was completely necessary. From start to finish we were extremely rushed. My friend had gotten a Groupon and invited my daughter & I to go along. We arrived on time. But from the second we sat down it was like they didn't want us there. Shame too because I was looking for a place for my daughter's princess tea time birthday party but this certainly won't be it. They made us feel completely unwanted, like we weren't good enough to be there. I would never recommend going here. Very thankful I got to have the "experience" we did because I wouldn't set foot back in here. Then to blatantly tell us, "you know you have to tip whatever the original price was vs that of the Groupon" was completely unnecessary & outright rude. If you don't want people using Groupon, don't offer them. Period. Not our fault at all. Judging by the reviews since so many got to sit and enjoy their tea, including having 3+ pots whereas I could barely finish the one because we were being rushed, I barely had a chance to look at the menu. I have never been made to feel in such a manner as I had at any establishment. Absolutely repulsive and shameful. Won't come back & will tell everyone I know how terrible it was! Shameful. Had lunch at The Village Teahouse for the first time today. Met the owner, Meg, who was lovely and shared her story of starting the business 10 years ago. Ambiance, food and our server, Rosemary, were fabulous. My friend and I had the full tea experience and it was better than I could have expected. There were dozens of teas to choose from and one looked better than the next. I had the "snowflake" which was a combination of winter berries. The nut soup and salad were delicious. Our group of thirteen ladies enjoyed numerous cups of a variety of delicious teas during out tea party yesterday at The Village Teahouse. We started our Minnie's Senior Tea Size Meal with two teas suggested by Meg, the owner, Jane Austen and Sleigh Bells. Our delicious meal: quiche, salad, cherry and pecan scones with cherry curd and Devonshire cream (my favorite), tea sandwiches, and petite sweets. Other teas we enjoyed were Apple Cinnamon French Toast and The Village Teahouse Special Blend. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, especially on a cloudy, overcast day. There are so many adorable touches throughout, from the teacups to two-tiered serving pieces to beautiful decor, much of it tea-related! Going to tea has always been a special tradition for my grandmother and I, and it was so special sharing the experience with my kids They put us in the Alice in Wonderland room, which made the littles' day! My family and I were looking to try out a local teahouse and found this location on Google. We have never been here previously. We made reservations and the gentleman who answered the phone was so kind and accommodating. He addressed our concerns (making sure there was easy access/entrance for handicap/disabled people). He also asked us if there were any food allergies or children that would be attending (which we said no). The grounds are so cute!! We were worried that there would not be any parking (since again, we did not know the set up and whether there was street parking or a parking lot), but there was a nice parking lot in the back! It had a beautiful pink Cinderella carriage and some flowers out back. As you walk to the front of the teahouse, there are teacups lined on the fence, a windchime of spoons, and a cute decorative fork outside on the porch! When you enter the Victorian home, you walk right into the gift shop. There are two rooms, one is their classic Victorian tea room, the other is a themed room that changes every couple of months. We luckily were seated in the themed room (which was 40s/50s themed, it was adorable!) My Nana especially loved it, as it took her back to her childhood/teenager days. My Mom, Nana, and I all went for the Margaret Full Tea. This comes with an unlimited pot of tea (there are so many flavors to choose from!), soup or quiche du jour, salad, 1 scone with clotted cream and lemon curd, 5 tea sandwiches, and some petit sweets. Our server was Kim and she was very helpful/friendly. We informed her that we have never been there before and she helped address all of our questions and always checked in on us to see how things were or if we needed anything! I ordered the creme brûlée tea and it was delicious!! Even the sugar cubes had cute sugary, decorative flowers on them! My Mom ordered the American Breakfast tea and my Nana tried the Back Porch Blend tea. They both LOVED the Back Porch flavor, which was raspberry and orange. Next, I ordered the soup du jour which was a coconut sweet potato. The soup came out boiling hot, but it was delicious! The salad was a small house salad with an orange vinaigrette. My family and I have never heard of an orange vinaigrette previously, and were pleasantly surprised by how it tasted! My Nana ordered the quiche du jour which was ham & cheese! The scone of the day was lemon blueberry (my Nana's favorite!) and they were fresh and warm. So divine! I was not a huge fan of the tea sandwiches, but that is not the teahouse's fault (I am just an extremely picky eater), but I wanted the full experience of the tea. I took a couple bites of each tea sandwich to give them a try. They were chicken salad, egg salad, a cucumber sandwich, red pepper sandwich, and I forget what the last one was. My favorite out of the 5 was the chicken salad! The desserts were delicious, my family and I absolutely loved the cute cookie shaped like a teabag dipped in chocolate! They even gave us mini peanut butter Easter eggs since we arrived the weekend after Easter. The check was given to us in a beautiful coin purse! Such a cute concept! We also received yummy mints!! We were the last people to leave the teahouse (since our reservation was at 2 and they close at 3) but we made it in pretty good time (we got out of there around 3:10/3:15). We also signed up for their newsletter, as we would love to hear about when their next events are (they apparently have a Titanic tea in June where they assign you a passenger and you dress in Edwardian clothes!). They also have a cool concept called Tea Flutters where they house select 4 different teas and allow you to try them for $10 (similar to a beer/wine flight!) Finally, we received a loyalty card. 10 punches gives you $15 off of your next meal or at the gift shop! We had such a lovely time and we will definitely be back!! The tea and food is always excellent and I just love the cozy charm here. It's a fun touch that the decor of the room changes per season! While planning the bridal shower (which took place in the spring of 2019), the owner was very helpful and accommodating. My maid-of-honor and I loved working with her because she was honest about any issues, but really worked with us a lot to make the shower happen. I love going to tea, it's always such a fun time. I've visited several different teahouses in the area, but this was my first time at the Village Teahouse. I'll start by saying that if you plan on going, it's safer to make you reservation in advance, the teahouse is small and they get very busy. I called before we came and they managed to squeeze us in, but I'm not sure they'd be able to if we just showed up. Once we were seated, the selection of teas to choose from was extensive. I chose the creme brulee tea which was delicious. Our service included unlimited tea, so I allowed to choose more than one flavor. The teas came in adorable tea pots, each one different from the other. The food was also delicious. My partner and I both took the Margaret full tea service. We started with a sausage and pepper quiche that came with a side salad with a really creative and delicious maple vinaigrette. After that we were given a fresh almond cherry scone that melted in our mouths. It was followed by a finger sandwiches and dessert tray. Everything on it was absolutely outstanding, but our favorite was the mini pumpkin cake with a cream cheese frosting. So yummy! I definitely recommend going, just be sure to make reservations.
