My Great Dane was nervous and began growling when they tried to take her to the back for a needle aspirate. The vet and the tech both were so patient with her and brought out treats to calm her....she came back very happy and I was updated on findings, meds, and need for recheck. The staff was extremely polite , friendly, and accommodating. However, I will never get my babies groomed here again. I was super excited to try there groomer Becky. But she literally gave my babies the worst cut Ive ever seen! My babies were cut unevenly and appeared to have been cut by someone with no experience. Becky came to the lobby after I brought this to the attention of staff and she became loud and offered to correct the cuts. After picking them up they were in the same condition. My dog started having seizures late at night. This was the only place I could go. They charged me almost $2000 and told me that would include a 24 hour visit. I received a call about 12 to 14 saying my dog was ready to go. Once there And they brought him into the room. He had had another seizure. Instead of keeping him for the remaining time, they told me it would be an additional thousand dollars for them to keep him after had already paid the previous amount. They returned my dog to me a condition that was worse than when I left him this was yesterday . He died today. I wouldn't recommend your pet depending on. They are only about money. Since moving to Atlanta almost six years ago, I tried 5 different vets before discovering the Village Vets in Stone Mountain. They are the first one who didn't immediately want to sedate my cat before examining her. She is not aggressive. She is scared at the vet and attempts to make herself appear ferocious. If they come across a situation that goes above their level of expertise, they have industry specialists they have experienced working with, that you can feel comfortable referring to, that they either bring in, or will continue communication with as they send you to them. The doctors at Village Vets always, ALWAYS follow up with you after you bring your pet in for something. If you are concerned about an issue, you can count on them to explain things to you, in detail so you understand any decisions you have to make and be completely comfortable making them. You never, ever feel rushed and you feel as if you've made a lifetime friend that you'd literally do anything for. I moved to another side of town where I cannot use Village Vets anymore, yet I still send my pets recent records to them for their opinions or call for advice. We adopted our dog, Cali from the Atlanta Humane Society in 2005. She was a sweet and loving dog. We took her to one vet that tolerated her during the time of year for vaccinations. Cali has never liked going to the vet. So much so that she needed to be sedated annually for shots and nail trimmings. We decided to switch her vet one year and just try out Village Vets. WOW! What a HUGE difference! She actually enjoyed going there. Her tail wagged and the staff was so amazing. We got all of her vaccinations done at the Decatur location, but would board her at the Stone Mountain location. We were gone out of town for 8 days last week and they sent us pictures of her almost every day. Unfortunately, with her old age, degenerative arthritis, a fever, and a suspected mass on the brain, we had to make the hard decision to let her go on Saturday. Dr. Irish called us on Friday evening and early Saturday morning to fill us in on everything. She even waited 4 hours past the time that she was supposed to get off work for us to get there straight from the airport, and for our sons to get there to say their goodbyes, and walked us through the process. Her bedside manner was amazing. Our dog was in the best hands and care possible and we are honored that Dr. Irish was a part of her journey. Dr. Irish made a very hard decision and situation as good as she possibly could. Our family could not be more thankful for her and all of the patience that she had with us between Friday and Saturday. We miss our baby, Cali tremendously but we know she is no longer in pain and isn't suffering anymore. read more

Our Cockapoo has ran into fleas hard! this time it was a really tough set , terrible itching and her hair was getting shabby too-we all needed a intervention ! We liked the clean office and enjoyed seeing the various patients come through. Our visit was very nice. The staff genuinely love their patients and you can relax under their guidance. They even helped me through adjusting to a new medication set for cocoa through a thoughtful follow up email and a phone call to work through a moderate issue. I appreciate the above and beyond service. That being said, maybe an insurance option would be a great idea if you were to come regularly as it's a premium veterinary clinic and maybe cost prohibitive. With so many patients there was a good bit of others dog hair on my clothes when we left. But that's ok , they gave us free drinks and dog treats! The front desk staff was half and half our checkin lady more friendly than the petite checkout receptionist . A great veterinary practice, try them definitely. read more

It was after hours, so I took my dog, who had been bitten by a snake, had to the closest emergency vet. We had to sit in one of their rooms for almost 3 hours while they calculated what our bill would be and got our approval to pay it. They seemed much more concerned about their bill and they were about my dog, who was laying at my feet totally untreated for the snakebite, obviously in pain. She ended up having to stay there overnight. I was so concerned about her, probably mainly because they weren't. I picked her up first thing the next morning. I will never go there again. read more

I can't say enough about these Wonderful Pet Docs. Both Dr. Flanagan and Dr. Roberts did SO VERY much to extend the life of my rescue companion dog, Cookie. At 16 years of age, Cookie was very ill. With these 2 Doctor's assistance, they helped me have 6 more Wonderful, pain-free months with my furbaby. When the time came, their attentive and loving care helped Cookie go permanently to sleep. They cried with me and consoled the family as if Cookie was truly a family member that we had just lost. Then a sweet note came a few days later for Dr. Roberts. Dr. Tyler, her tech Taylor, and all the other assistants we dealt with were so kind. We walked in on a Saturday afternoon without appointment when our dog was having some unexpected issues. As anticipated, they were busy as they're one of the few vets open on a Saturday afternoon, but they saw us quickly considering everything that was going on. They treated our sweet boy just like he was their own. They even made sure to adjust to a calm demeanor as he's very nervous. They truly care! For an emergency exam the price is very reasonable and I got very clear directions and notes to take home. They gave me additional treatment options, but did not pressure me to spend more money doing so unless I wanted to. I really appreciate vets that don't run up the bill just because they can. The facility is nice, clean, and modern. My favorite part about the short waiting stay was the dog trivia on the TV and being able to see the sweet cats hanging out in their room. Dr. Tyler also went out of her way to follow up with me about my pup a few days later as well. They are truly a great facility and crew to have close by. Plus, their Decatur location is 24 hours! All 3 stars are for doing an excellent job performing emergency surgery at midnight on my 8-year-old GSD who had bloat. Minus 2 stars for not having the good bedside manner to follow up with anything more than an email after a high-risk, $3,500 surgery. I've owned 8 GSD's in my life and they have had all manner of illness and injury and our old vet always, always followed up with a phone call, even after relatively minor problems. I picked The Village Vets to be my children's doctor after moving to the area based on their reputation and I am extremely disappointed that an email from the Vet Tech is all the after care we received, especially after going to great lengths to explain how serious things still were when we brought Raiden home. The doctors we dealt with were both extremely knowledgeable. The Vet Techs were also knowledgeable and helpful. The front counter staff were also very pleasant to us. The successful operation was obviously the most important thing, I get that and I am very pleased that my pup is on the mend, but my customer service expectations are a little higher than just an email. read more

We're a two dog family, and both pups are loyal VV customers. Dr. DeLong usually sees us, and she's absolutely great! My pug needed surgery to remove bladder stones earlier this year, and everything went perfectly. As a nervous mama the few weeks before the surgery, she made me feel much more at ease and was very responsive to my numerous emails. She made a few follow-up calls after the surgery to make sure everything was ok with my little man. We've seen Dr. Irish as well a time or two, and she's also very friendly and helpful. The facility is always clean and the staff is always very friendly. It's a great place to take your four-legged baby for the best veterinary care. read more

I love this place but the prices are so expensive I will now be taking my cat to the Planned Pethood of GA. We took our kitty here for 2 visits for shots, anti-flea medication, and bloodwork and the combined price was over $515! The prices are mind boggling. I came here because a friend recommended this group and while they are great to the pets, I cannot justify the price. We saw Dr. Flanagahn the first time and I liked her best and we were seen promptly. The second time we went, we were scheduled to see Dr. Irish and waited in the room for 20 minutes and no one came, I had to go to the front desk and ask what was going on. I've called the group several times to ask about pricing before I go in and what the office ladies give me is never accurate compared to the final price. They really need to be more transparent about pricing. I would come to the Village Vets again if my cat had a serious health issue and needed surgery but for normal things like shots, flea, dewormer, nail trim, neutering, etc-- advise you to go to Planned Pethood of GA and save yourself hundreds if not thousands of dollars. read more

I have been to this VV when I had to get my rescue dog neutered. That went fine, however, after the experience a friend of mine had with the Village Vets in Atlanta I can not, and will not, recommend any VV at this time. I will not go into the details of this terrible and ridiculously expensive experience, but hopefully when my friend is done dealing with her dog's illness she will contact VV and go over all the things that were done incorrectly. We've been to the Village Vets with three of our dogs since we moved to the metro area 6 years ago. The last few visits I have become increasingly frustrated with not only the price but the attitude of the vets and tech that I of course would want to get every single service--without asking me first. Our bills for simple ear infection treatments were adding up to 200 plus per treatment including a follow up (50 exam, 25 swab, etc.) It was unreal. We got a new puppy and decided to try Mountain Park Animal Hospital--and how pleased and excited was I to see a quote before they did any services? Will be our other two there as well. My old vet left prior practice and it was hard to change after 14 years . I went to village Vets on recommendation of a coworker. I was so glad I changed. dr Irish was great and the place was spotless. My dog has some allergy issues and she took and is taking the time to find out what is really going on with him .
