We have been here before and always have enjoyed the food, ambiance and service. Tonight - not so much. Beer was good. Service ok. Food - not what I remember. Nachos were not consistent with past time - too much Kimchi and too many chips with nothing on them - we did our best so they were ok - but just ok. I was very excited to see a Gramma pizza (new item on the menu) but it was served cold and soggy. We brought it home to try and resurrect it in our oven. Wish us luck. read more

The Vinyl Room has finally opened in Beacon after moving from Wappinger Falls. They have taken the previous place and dialed it up to 11. If I was given an unlimited budget to design my personal perfect bar I would have spent that budget, then come here and realized how badly I messed up and what I should have done instead. The back of the bar is up cycled pin ball machine headboards. There is art on the wall made of cassettes and floppy disks. There are arcade machines. There is vinyl to purchase. The tunes are kicking. And that is before you even get to the drinks and bar staff. Which are all stellar. It's already difficult enough to decide where to go in Beacon. We went here to eat for my son's 19th Bday. We LOVED the decor, music and food. Their menu is small but covered all our dietary needs (some of us are vegan, some vegetarian and some meat eater). Food very tasty. Good presentation and flavors. We had a few dishes from the menu and none disappointed. Staff was attentive and friendly. There is an arcade room downstairs that my kids really enjoyed. My husband and I loved being able to share with our kids this little time capsule. Was very disappointed with supposed to be a throwback withhold hip-hop 80s and 90s but it seemed like the DJ didn't really know how to mix old school hip-hop he was okay at best the real problem was I really didn't like the five and it took 30 to 40 minutes to get one drink at the bar the bartenders seemed a little off-beat and seem like they didn't really know what they were doing I think they need more staff and they even need a few more waitresses running around the place to help out that falls back on management I really do not recommend this place and me personally I probably won't go back read more

The new location is in Beacon is primarily a bar. It may be a really cool bar, with a good selection of beer and specialty coctails, but don't go for the vinyl. You will be disappointed. Some of the photos posted are from the old location, which had a lot more vinyl. The new place has one small browser of records, with just enough room for two people to stand and browse with no elbow room to spare. I couldn't tell you if the small selection of vinyl is good or not, because two people were browsing when I was there. My review is basically one star for the vinyl, four stars for the bar. read more

Honestly this might become my new favorite spot. The food was good but I feel like alot of it is overpriced. 2 small sliders for almost 20 bucks is a reach, but it's Beacon so thats to be expected. The drinks were yummy and fun. I sat in a booth with my husband and 2 kids. Honestly the highlight of our experience was our server Mark. I frequent restaurants across the 845 and used to serve for 25 years and I cant remember having such a memorable experience because of how our server was. He was so kind to my kids and even got them these cute little magnets of cassettes to take home. He anticipated everything before we even thought to ask. Not gonna lie, the cocktail ingredients were a bit intimidating due to all the things I've never even heard of, but he explained everything to me to the point where I thought I created this list! I must have asked him about 12-15 questions and he answered all of them with ease and made me feel very comfortable, the guy can sell a cocktail. I didnt even feel like I was at a place of business, I felt like I was invited to his home and he was a tremendous host. Originally I was going to go to the bar my second time around, but honestly I want him every time I come here. I truly wasn't expecting such top-tier service from a place like this, he belongs in a 5-star restaurant, seriously we were all surprised. He brought my kids downstairs to the arcade and they had a blast, I will definitely be coming back for him and the yummy drinks. The food was my only gripe. We got the chicken sliders, cauliflower pizza, and pretzel bites. Don't get me wrong, all of it was delicious, but they seriously need to either bring down the prices for the slider and pretzel bites or give larger portions because I would have ordered more if they werent so expensive. The pizza I get because you get a good portion and theres alot of ingredients, but that was my only gripe. Other than that, everything was on point. Finally a place where grown folks can go out in the Hudson Valley and listen to old school hip hop without feeling uncomfortable. The staff was extremely attentive. Dancing is encouraged. They have a "door" behind the bar that connects you to the pizza shop next door in case you get hungry. They have a great craft beer selection too. Great place to visit after a hard day at work. Drop in, have a drink and enjoy some great music. Old retro arcade games line the walls, and depending on when you visit, there may be a DJ spinning old funk, jazz, hip-hop, or a live band. It's clear to see that the owner of this establishment has a passion for good music, and creating an environment of positive vibes and good company. This bar is an absolutely amazing (and unique) addition to the growing village of Wappingers. I stopped in for some drinks with some friends prior to attending a performance at the county players theater. The bartender (who I am under the impression is the owner) was absolutely fantastic. Had a great conversation with her over some beers and would absolutely make a return trip (and make this a spot I frequent). As the name implies, there are vinyl records for sale here. As someone old enough to remember people owning vinyl but young enough never to have owned any himself, it's fascinating to see so many records for sale here. The Vinyl Room is becoming such a staple in the Village of Wappingers! The concept is awesome and It has something for every age. You can enjoy pizza from Wagon Wheel and Delicious Craft Beer with your kids while they play old school Video Games or visit them later on at night on the weekends for music from great DJ's from all over. I held off reviewing this store because I like to support local businesses, but I hope the proprietors will take this as constructive criticism. The concept is great: beer, cider, vinyl: what could be better? The space is great and the people seem nice. But OMG they have to get a handle on pricing. Little consideration seems to go into pricing a record based on condition and a vintage record that is beat to crap is just simply a beat up record and should not be priced as something special. But the real problem of this store was clear to me when I saw a record I had just bought for $20 in mint condition from another local store, on sale for $100 at the Vinyl Room (This Mortal Coil's first album). With discogs.com and eBay there is simply no excuse for this kind of price gouging and the better stores in our area actually make a point of pricing more valuable records five or ten dollars below their listed discogs prices as a show of respect for local customers. This store simply shows contempt for customers with such price gouging and I have vowed never to return unless I hear that they've changed their business practices. With first class record stores like Hudson Valley Vinyl, Rocket Number 9, and Jack's Rhythms just a short drive away, why would anyone be cheated by this store? read more
