This is a good vitamin shoppe. Great selection. Retail prices (you can find cheaper on the internet). Reasonable return policies and decent customer service. Sure, you get the occasional bonehead who has no idea what he's talking about and then tries to sell you a product (the bottle said "augmented protein" and the employee told me it had a lot of "augment.") But a lot of the time you get someone who is pretty knowledgeable and you get accumulated "points" at the end of the year where they send you a coupon based on what you spent. My husband's doctor suggested something I had never heard of before and I started by calling a few health food stores I was familiar with, I couldn't get a response. Benfotiamine. What the hell was that, I thought? I stopped by another vitamin store on my way to Whole Foods in Glendale, and they told me they didn't stock this item, and my best bet was to order it online, BUT if I really wanted, they would order it for me. Thanks. That's customer service, right? So then I ambled down the street and saw this shop. I'd never really taken notice of it. I went in and sure enough, they had it! And not only did they have it, they had two different brands of it! Now, this is really the only thing I buy at this place. They have all kinds of vitamins and those weight enhancing products for like body builders and stuff.....and weight loss things....everyone is really nice. Oh and they have a frequent shoppers card. The good part is that I buy a bottle of this stuff about once a month and at the end of the year, I got a certificate for $10 off my next purchase. That's pretty good, better than most places. You know what I really like this place. I usually get my stuff from Amazon, but if I'm impatient I always just go here. No haste Amazon price match no matter how good the deal is, as long as it's shipped and sold by Amazon. Compare that to Get Yok'd which is so hit her miss, one month they price match, one month they don't, another month they don't but are willing to give me 10%. Even if it's cheaper with the 10% I like the comfort of knowing what I'm going to get. Purchasing supplements shouldn't be like playing Russian Roulette. My experiences at this Vitamin Shoppe are always mixed. The staff is amazing but they seem to have extra stock of the crazies (customers) whenever I'm in there. Maybe my timing is off on those days. There is a pro there that I love and her name is JC (something like that.) and she is always very helpful. I called Vitamin Shoppe, spoke with Helya who confirmed they had it in stock. I went in, purchased the melatonin and was surprised to see many other products I use in stock. I ended up purchasing 4 other items. One item I had an issue with it. Knowing their Covid policy is 'no returns', I called just the same to see if I could exchange. I've worked retail so I can appreciate good customer service when I receive it. Here is some basic info. I'm a mother of 3 kids under 2.5 years. Making quick trips to the store isn't so quick anymore. Getting back to my experience... I called this location and I know they're always busy because I've been a customer there for almost 2 decades. I had a couple of questions and Maria was so great, friendly, and patient over the phone and that's hard to find. She asked a some questions and gave me some recommendations and told me what was in stock at the moment. This shop is not convenient for me, but I will make the drive from Burbank just because of Maria. I tried to do the same thing calling a GNC store that is more convenient, but didn't receive and help over the phone the gentleman just kept saying to come in for some help. Where do I start with this amazing company! I have been shopping here for years I've lived in many different cities but I've always been loyal to the company as they have great products, their prices are competitive and the staff are always knowledgeable about what I may or may not need that with support my body's needs and health. One of the things I value most about the company is how the staff are trained in understanding the body's needs and how I can always ask any question I want knowing I'm going to get a great answer leading me to what it is I'm looking for. Today I took my time and I was helped above and beyond by Andrea who is not only patient with me but super knowledgeable about a lot of questions that I had I also appreciate that they honor their price matching policy. There were new product that I found cheaper on line and Andrea took her time to validate those websites and honor the prices would save me money what else can I ask for from this company for practice is what they preach I will continue to come to this location because of Andrea and the knowledge that she has, and her pleasant and welcoming demeanor always makes me feel welcome whenever I come to the store. Although making sales is important I don't feel that this is ever been the case with this company it always feels like helping me support my needs are first, and then getting the sale is after which is why I've been so loyal for years. I've never had an issue here with anything at all. You should know what you're going in there to buy, so don't go in there relying on the employees to give you the best advice because they don't know your body. Wandered around aimlessly for a bit. I was clearly confused, but there didn't seem to be any staff available. No one offered to help. After about 5 minutes of walking circles, I stood by the counter and waited for the customer ahead of me to finish checking out. Instead of addressing me after the customer left, the clerk began bickering with a fellow employees. Then another man approached the register so that customer was helped. I continued to stand there like an idiot for a bit hoping to be acknowledged. After a couple minutes I decided to approach a different employee who was occupied with the computer system. "Excuse me"... the employee mumbled something, but I was sure he was talking to the computer because that's what he was looking at, no eye contact with me whatsoever. Then the phone rang so the employee lifted his finger for me to wait and walked around the counter to answer. The employee FINALLY asked to assist me after hanging up the phone. He took me to the correct shelf, pointed out my item, then walked away. They didn't seem to carry the exact item I was looking for. I would have asked about the item availability...possibly at another location, but I wasn't willing to play another game of cat and mouse for assistance. I left empty handed. Ordering online from another dealer. When did customer service stop becoming a priority? I am giving two stars instead of one because of the location's variety, organization and cleanliness. read more

It was my first time shopping here. Ordered online for curbside pick up. Wrong item was brought out. Went in the store to get it corrected and was questioned if it really was the wrong item. I showed them the website and my order info, and advised them yes it was wrong. Then it became a issue of the employee asking out loud who got this order ready and telling me instead of a return she could look through all the shipment boxes to see if they had it which would take about 15-20 minutes. I said no thank you and then was told well a refund would take about as long. I insisted on the refund.During this time an employee being trained had questions and the person helping me told him "you know I'm busy right now so I don't know." Then what I think was the store manager walked in and more of the so who prepared this package conversation started. Plus they started talking about another employee who hadn't called in sick and questioning if she had text the other employee. Anyways they ask for my ID and process the refund, but you know what?....these were all such strange and unnecessary interactions. The employees don't seem happy, they seem stressed, and it seems like customer service is not their strong suit. I hope it gets better for the employees. The store looked clean. I love this place. Been coming here for the last 3 years and I know this review has been long overdue. Prices are always competitive, definately a lot cheaper than GNC and I dont have to pay a yearly fee to get any discounts. Plus you get a coupon at year end to use towards buying items in the store. I had a very similar treatment by "Roger" who kept following me around the store. Not sure why but was it because of my skin color? I am currently taking some classes at the local college and was carrying my backpack. If the person was suspicious of that he should have said something instead of making me feel uncomfortable. I'm a huge fan of The Vitamin Shoppe franchise. That said, this is the absolute worst location I have EVER been to. The staff is mediocre and unfriendly. I made a suggestion to the manager Lola about stocking a flavor in a product that they already carry - a flavor that's carried by every other Vitamin Shoppes in the LA area - she could not be bothered nor have cared less and blew me off promptly. The Vitamin Shoppe as a company will keep my business because both the Fairfax and Santa Monica locations are great - I will drive significantly further and out of my way to deal with a staff that's both knowledgeable and cares. I've been a long time customer of the Vitamin Shoppe. I prefer to go to my home store because they know me and my needs. I was in the Glendale area and decided to come here wow what amazing customer service! Helya really went above and beyond my needs, she's so kind and able to multitask. She answered all my questions and was climbing ladders for me to find my product. Richard was also great he made sure I was happy with my purchases which I really appreciated considering he was so busy with other customers!
