Came here for a birthday, it was a $5 cover charge. As soon as we began walking toward the bar it reeked of SEWER, extremely disgusting! I got to the bar and my nose was drowned in FABULOSO (a household cleaning liquid) oh my gosh, i felt like i was getting high off of cleaning supplies. I looked at the rest of my group and they all had the same face (what is that smell?) This is a review of the club portion. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU ARE NOT LATINO/HISPANIC. THEY ARE VERY RACIST AGAINST BLACK PEOPLE! A mixed group of 5 of us went to drink here at about 11pm. There was cover of $5 and I was free because it was my birthday. -$20. We all grab drinks and spend another -$100 each probably. My boyfriend walked me to the bathroom-- which was completely dark and empty-- opened the door to it and stood there talking to me while I'm using it. I hear another male presumably with his girlfriend harass my boyfriend for being "in the girls bathroom". My boyfriend explains he is in there just waiting for me to get out because there no main door and no one was in there. The guy continues to harass and so I hurry out and see that he has called for security. We are black and the security and guy and girlfriend are Latino/Hispanic. The security guard says we have to get out because we make the girl uncomfortable ! Unbelievable. Whole time the girl is smirking with her privilege! We were kicked out for BEING BLACK. This is disgusting treatment and we need all our money back since we can't even use the restroom. read more

First of all this is my favorite place! Everyone is so incredibly nice! All the employees are absolutely incredible the bartenders help you fast and the security is there immediately if there is a problem! And the DJ holy crap!!! Dj Beazie Beats is the best DJ in Riverside! He pays attention to what the people like and if you're POLITE and RESPECTFUL he'll play the song that you request. I see everyone that works at this bar as family. This bar is hands down the best bar in Riverside especially when you include atmosphere,people, and music! I can't think of too many nice things to say about this bar, honestly. the drinks and beers are way over priced compared to the other bars on university, the place has no air conditioning (so dont even bother going in the summer, unless you like to sweat while you drink), the staff has always been rude and unhelpful to me, the minimum on debit/credit cards is like $15 bucks, the beer on tap has never been cold enough, and the patio is filled with creepers that bum cigarettes. the only reason i ever come to this bar is to use their bathroom when i dont want to wait at menagerie next door, or to visit the awesome DJ's they have on thursday nights that are not nearly appreciated as much as they should be. if you want a good riverside dive bar, go to sire instead. read more

She started screaming & shouting to kick my friends & I out. I was so confused & shocked. She told the manager that I called her a b***h, which was not true. She really did fit the description but that word was not used. So then I get greeting by a small Asian man (the manager) who without any clarification of the situation kicked us out. I like the darkness of the place. The arcade game is a nice touch. The restroom needs a grenade. It's a beer and wine place so it'll take some time to get rocked in here, but when it happens there's plenty of places to sit or lean. The smoking patio is a treat if you're a smoker, an albatross if you're not. The bartenders are decent for that area of Riverside, but they're not really bartenders per se, since they don't really mix anything--well, unless you get a black & tan. I definitely don't mind stopping in for a little pre-gaming, but I definitely would not spend more than 30 minutes in this place. Your life may flash before your eyes. Don't get scurred. read more

If you happen to drop by at night on a Tasty Tuesday you'll be sure to catch the awesome dynamic that is Natalia and Gabe they're pretty damn entertaining together. I'll admit, I came into this place with a snooty attitude. First off, it's in Riverside and second...actually, that's the end of the list. The DJ spins some really good music (on a Friday night around 11pm) and after a few beers, everyone is in a dancing mood on the makeshift dancefloor between the entryway door and Big Buck Hunter rifles. Got there before 10 (pregaming) and most of our group was allowed in except one person so most of us went in but kept waiting by the entrance till they let him in. Over 2hrs of him getting back in line, not only did they keep saying he was drunk, they brought more security guards and detained him and told lies to the police passing by that he was pushing and screaming at people in line. We saw what happened and than pointed out that we were also drunk (which since we've been inside only had 1 beer waiting). My husband has a sentimental attachment to this place as his first legal adult beverage was purchased and consumed here. It's a low key joint, and Eileen C. and I have spent many a night chatting it up here with our friends over a pitcher. It's mostly locals so expect that special brand of peeps that only the 951-former-909 can produce. They only sold beer last I checked and a terrible screwdriver, but I've heard they've gotten a better liquor license and have a full bar. I have yet to verify that though. Quarter operated pool tables, a decent DJ on Friday nights (he brings the old school 80-90s hits), and an outdoor patio. It's a hot mess, but a great place to spend a low key night. read more

Worthington's is one of my favorite little bars in Riverside. I use to jokingly refer to it as the "hipster bar," but it truly carries that vibe on designated and random nights. I had good times here. Loved playing DJ with the jukebox- since my taste in music is awesome, people loved my selections.Had some friends of friends DJ here spinning an awesome dub-step-ish remix of Thom Yorke's "The Eraser" (that memory burned into my brain FOREVER). Security here are probably the rudest people you will ever come across. Had mints in my purse and the security throws them aggressively cause apparently mints aren't allowed? Very unnecessary. Small cramped space so when its packed its a really tight squeeze and it smells like b.o. from the sweaty dudes. There's no ventilation so it gets hot in there, you can try to escape to the back patio but not much relief there. One plus is I caught a small burlesque show there which was cute and fun.
