Okay, I am a spoiled consumer of hot dogs because I've had a regular diet of Coney dogs both on Coney Island and in Olneyville, RI and a have of Coney dogs in Fall River, MA (Nick's) not to mention many, many hot dog experiences at multiple vendors in and around Chicago. I have very find memories of leaving the YMCA as a kid, for many years, then walking to the corner Rexall Drug Store, where they have a soda fountain, and ordering my favorite hot dog with cole slaw. Of course I added mustard and onions but that's just how I get it here. The bread, dog and slaw are very good and I'm a happy camper. While I'm hooked on slaw dogs they do have a nice variety of other specialties beyond a basic dig like the Kraut dog, the Driftwood (smothered in chili) and the bacon dog (with jalapeno cheese & white sauce), the Alabama (with spicy peppers, tomatoes & white sauce) and the Galley dig which is everything on. I have promised myself to try that one day :-) They also offer over a dozen flavors of delicious hand packed olive creams which you can have in a cone or cup plus some cool specialty shakes and sundaes and, oh yes, floats! It's not a big dine-in place but my favorite thing is to grab my dogs or ice cream and sit out under one of their shaded picnic tables and enjoy the outdoors. Bottom line: These are some really friendly folks who have carved out a business with two of my favorite things. I recommend that you give them a try!!

The Wacked Out Weiner is an incredible place to have an awesome lunch. The food is fantastic. They only use Nathan's all beef hotdogs. They dogs have a great taste and that fabulous "Snap" to them. No soggy dogs here!!! The combos prices are amazing. AND 31 DIFFERENT TOPPINGS to choose from!!! Combos come with a 20 oz coke product and a bag of chips. Where else can you get a great lunch at a great price. And, the staff is super friendly. The atmosphere is amazing. Not to mention the totally cool t shirts. They are also a must have. I was in the Foley area heading to the beach and I found this interesting hole in the wall restaurant. As soon as I walked in, the staff was very friendly and hospitable. The owner helped us decide what to order. Basically, it's a build your own hot dog. You can add as many toppings as you want (they even have macaroni as a topping). The hot dogs were delicious and so, so cheap! A 1 hot dog combo with chips and a drink was less than $6. I definitely recommend this place! read more

Visited the Foley location for the 1st time today. Let me say, this place is amazing. From the time you enter till the time you leave the hospitality and atmosphere was amazing. We were told this was the original location and let me say it does not disappoint. The dogs as well as all the toppings were fresh and tasted that way. The chili, slaw, and chow chow were off the hook. They will even top it off with real bacon pieces. We will most definitely be back. read more

We stopped by The Whacked Out Weiner in Foley, Alabama, and it did not disappoint! We tried the Chicago dog (pictured) and the Reuben dog, and both were delicious. Everything was made fresh, and the flavors were spot-on. It was a great meal for the value--plenty of food without breaking the bank. The owner was super friendly and made us feel welcome. For a hotdog place, they know how to make a mean Mac and cheese!! Amazing service, very cheesey Mac and cheese, and they had a sweet tea slushie that I would suggest even to a sweet tea hater. 10/10, would go again. As a customer walking in the door of a funny named hotdog shop I was expecting to have a decent hotdog. However as a family member leaving that family owned small business I truly enjoyed my visit spent there. And I honestly felt a sense of family as I left.
