Passing through Reedley CA and needed to get dinner on the way, so we decided to try this restaurant. The service was very friendly and the food was delicious, but it takes such a looooong time for the food to get ready. Be prepared for a long wait (at least we had to wait 20-30 minutes for a salad and a burger). read more

What a hidden gem! Stopped in for a quick bite and honestly wasn't expecting much. Boy was I wrong! Everything from drinks to the food was superb. I had the Kafta sliders and my husband had the veggie tacos. We consider ourselves serious foodies and this place was top notch. The outstanding service may have been even better than the food. My friends and I went tonight to have dinner and catch up. It was 3 of us to start and We were seated and got our drink order immediately. A few short moments later 2 more from our group showed and they were also Served immediately. Service at the beginning was prompt and great. Once our food order was taken, that's when the service went down the crapper. Our drinks weren't refilled, we weren't checked in on, at one point one of my friends walked in to get a drink. The 2 The fair complected Hispanic girl was the only one that remained courteous. The taller long haired Hispanic girl looked annoyed with my group, and don't get me started on the full figured girl with the long lashes. She genuinely appeared to hate her job, or maybe she had a rough day, regardless it showed. The food itself was good, the lack of service however strong start but lost steam. I'd love to say it was busy but there was a total of 9 tables including ours filled for about 4 girls working. So finally giving the wake house a go.... As it was Known as "Kelly's beach" for years I visited it as a young kid with my dad both as a camper and also to eat and later as an adult for the night life. It was always fun but did die off painfully and sadly..... I've been to this site often in the last few months and witnessed a lot of remodeling, clean up and business over all so I was excited to try it. ( I'm always one for nostalgia) I want something as cool and precious as a riverbank honky tonk should be. So they've pouring money into this well deserving basket of memories at an alarming rate... new stamped concrete and wrap around patio with multilevel seating. New electrical installed for the campers and up graded bathrooms! All a big plus and at the same time mind you keeping that classic Americana look of a cool divey roadhouse. So all that made me happy . Dinner was good not great had a big fat juicy steak that I got rare not medium rare as I ordered it. Service was great had a very helpful waitress. Drinks were on point. So I really get the feeling that the wake house is still finding their stride and they are onto something very cool. But needs time to mature and do itself justice ( it's there but not there) if you know what I mean. I'm giving them a generous 4 out of 5 with the attitude they're a work in progress that's made a lot of progress. By the way $20 bucks for a big fat ribeye is a bonus! read more

We haven't been here in awhile but the places to eat in Reedley are slim picking so we decided on the Wakehouse. It definitely has changed, service was mediocre, food was ok, but the shocker was when we got the check and they add on random charges for every little thing. They charged us $1 for ketchup with our fries and this wasn't one charge for the table this was a charge for every plate that had fries (which were horrible and plain so you absolutely needed the ketchup). I get that the cost of everything has gone up but charging $1 for about .001 cent of ketchup is wrong and considered stealing from your neighbors in my book. We won't be supporting this business as they clearly don't support the community. Oh another crazy charge was for a garnish on our cocktails, for example: if the drink cost $17 to make then just say that, don't say $11 and then add $6 for a garnish. read more

Everything they serve from Food to drinks is from the garden, it's Fresh, it's delish-ish and flavorful.

This place used to have a different name. Since the store changed its name to "The Wakehouse", the food quality got better. I came here more than 5 times with co-workers or clients, and every time I ordered different burgers. All of them were good, so far. We often have a glass of beer and a burger for lunch, sitting at the outside table . I recommend this store. read more

I'm too sexy for my shirt! I was excited visit to the Wakehouse after floating with friends. I was welcomed in by security wearing my bikini. The sign outside said "No shoes, no shirt, no service." My bikini top was more of a crop top, I was wearing shoes, I thought I'd be okay. Ordered a drink and was served by the sweetest bartender. I bought a T-shirt with my drink. As I was waiting for my shirt the manager called me out and told me my swimsuit was not acceptable. I put my shirt on as a coverup. I would have accepted what the manager said but after seeing two other patrons walking around in their swimsuits and not called out in front of everyone or called out at all, I was not too happy. Had it not been for the manager's horrible attitude I would go back, but he was so unfriendly and uninviting I'd rather not. read more

The food was great and so were the cocktails. We had also had great service. The servers were very helpful and would check on us to see if we needed anything. The ambiance was so beautiful. They get 2 stars for flavor. It all tasted great, however, it was so dry I had to drench my fries in ketchup and use hidden valley ranch to drench my chicken sandwich. Which SUCKS because I don't like ketchup on my fries and even if I did, not THAT much ketchup. Even with all the ketchup I had to drink water with each bite to get in down my throat.. The chicken sandwich was way over cooked and had almost no sauce. They also use Roman lettuce on the sandwich. This would be fine but all of it was the "spine" of the lettuce. That doesn't make a tasty meal. Maybe switch to just the leaves, or maybe butter lettuce? I'm hoping this all is just because of covid. First time visitor last weekend. I was in a large group but they handled us well. Food: Our group ordered a few different things on the menu. My burger was delicious and messy. Service: I understand how much it sucks to serve a large group, but it was kind of disappointing how much time came between the meals coming out. Some people were almost done with there meal by the time i received mine. Someone who I do believe was the manager did come check on us several times to make sure all of our food had been brought out. Drinks: The server did her best to keep up with our water intake, with this insane weather. She did eventually bring us a pitcher, which made things much easier. Tables: The tables we had to wipe down a few times and they were still a little sticky. Atmosphere: I actually loved the atmosphere. Outside there were games, cornhole and volleyball on the river side and pool in a patio like area on the parking lot side. read more

I am glad to update my old review of the Wakehouse. Here tonight with my son to celebrate his 21st and to try the new menu. This location has really turned its self around. Staff are still super friendly as before but the appetizers are outstanding. We are extremely disappointed in the concert you hosted last night. There was no entertainment for over 2 hours! The bars only had pony kegs and the beer ran out almost immediately. The owner was walking around drunk and telling people he postponed the entertainment so he could make more money on beer sales. The beer pricing was inconsistent which makes me think the bartenders were pocketing cash. There were no trash cans anywhere and the bathrooms ran out of toilet paper. I'm not sure how you can advertise this as a family friendly event while having the main act start at 10pm and he played for less than an hour. Also, your rules for the event said "no disruptive clothing" yet women were walking around in barely more than underwear. It's absolutely ridiculous. I'm not sure who planned this event, but they obviously need to go check out how successful venues do things. We love supporting our local businesses but I'm genuinely curious how The Wakehouse is still in business if this is how you run things. If you know you sold out of tickets, maybe think about the fact that you need more food vendors, more full size kegs, and more employees. We are extremely disappointed and will not be supporting your business any longer, especially with the way the owner was acting. read more

Walked in this evening was seated by a nice lady she brought me a paper to scan to get menu and said a waitress would be right with me scanned then looked at a limited menu thought that's fine I will just have their burger named after the place sat back and started checking email suddenly it occurred to me that it had been a few minutes and hadn't seen a waitress or the lady that sat me set a timer on my phone and kept dealing with email ten minutes later still no one had even come out to see if I wanted a drink at that point I was done walked back to hotel across the street grabbed my keys and headed to a restaurant that actually wants to help their customers read more
