I've had some amazing burgers and also some not so great. The meat was juicy but unevenly cooked, some parts were medium rare and others medium well with a little medium in the fade away. Decided to escape from Fresno for the day and my friend introduced me to The Wakehouse. It's cool to be able to sit outside and see the river! I started off with a margarita which was reallly good, especially since they put tajin around the rim! I decided to get the tri tip Cobb salad without the blue cheese. This salad was surprisingly good and I ate the whole thing and didn't even need to use any dressing. The salad was $15.99 which I thought was a little overpriced but that's just my opinion. They were playing a ton of Prince music which was a huge plus since I'm a Prince fan! Overall if your in the mood for a relaxing spot where you can watch the river and just chill this is for sure the place. The river is super low so I didn't see anyone float but if you ever decided to go floating this Is a great spot to stop and eat and drink! This is a place you could just chill and drink alll day which is what I plan on doing next time so make sure to bring a sober driver lol. read more

Horrible food and service. I waited over an hour for my food then I had to wait another 10 minutes for them to bring me cutlery. No napkins or drinks were brought over either. I have been to The Wakehouse three times to eat and twice for concerts. Only one of the concerts went smoothly. I had gone to the wakehouse when it was just opened and it was GREAT, I got a pulled pork sandwich and it was delicious, but it seems to have gone downhill. It's a nice looking place, but the food was bad. My first experience: I got the bruchetta chicken sandwich. There are no descriptions on the menu so I assumed bruchetta chicken = chicken, mozerella, tomato, some herbs, and olive oil. I was wrong, I got chunks of chicken, lettuce, diced tomatoes, and cheddar cheese all doused in a vinegarette dressing, to the point that the bottom bun was so soggy that I couldn't even pick it up and I had to flip it over to eat it. My boyfriend got a tri-tip sandwich and it was lettuce, tomato, a bunch of barbecue sauce, and tri-tip. The meat was so tough that he couldn't even eat it as a sandwich. The rest of my family got burgers and they all said that they were just incredibly mediocre. Only plus was the staff was very friendly and accommodating to our large group of people and their service was very quick. But I was incredibly disappointed in my food. Reading all these great reviews about how they have great burgers and delicious food made me think id be getting some amazing food, but mine was borderline gross. Maybe my experience isn't the norm, but it was very disappointing. My second experience: I went to an event that the wakehouse was holding (everclear concert). It was INCREDIBLY unprepared. I've been to a lot of concerts, but this was the least prepared I've ever been to. I understand that they're a smaller venue, but that would be all the more reason to have it organized well, to keep bringing people back. Lines for people with tickets and people for will call were not clear, apparently tickets printed online weren't valid (even though the ticketing website said "print tickets here"), chairs werent allowed on the grass, but they didn't announce this or put up signs so people just kept putting chairs on the grass and being asked to move until they just seemed to give up and let them sit there, which really obscured the view. They were selling food tickets at the door (just called "food tickets", not "wakehouse food tickets") but they were only for the one booth that the wakehoude was running so I spent all my cash on food tickets, was told I couldn't get what I wanted to get from another booth, went back and told them they didn't say it was only for their booth, and they refused to exchange my tickets back, even though I had bought them minutes prior and was one of the first in line to purchase. I didn't even have enough tickets to get actual food so I got the only thing I could afford, an ear of corn for 5 tickets (5 bucks!) which came out lukewarm. Parking was annoying, there were no directions at all so I just parked in a dirt lot just to be told that parking there was 10 bucks and parking near the front was 20 bucks. All in all, the bands were pretty good, everclear was great, but this event lacked a lot of planning that could have made it a great event. My third experience: I keep giving this place a chance because it's local and seems to be improving, but this experience was probably my last time, other than perhaps the occasional concert. We arrived with one other group of people in the restaurant and a few people at the bar. We ordered our food and then waited 40 mins until someone came out and told one of my family members that the item she ordered isn't available. About 20 mins later our food finally came out. I ordered a chicken taco bowl. It was half bland, unseasoned white rice and a good portion of the other half was iceberg lettuce. It said it had pico de gallo and avocado on it, those could have been redeeming factors and provide some favor to the white rice but there was hardly any of them. Basically, it was flavorless, about $12, and took an hour to get to me. Also, they forgot the cheese that I wanted to substitute the sour cream for and forgot the sour cream on another family members that ordered the same thing. The cherry on top; when the waitress picked up the literally untouched food and it was complained about, they said "oh I'm sorry" and took it away with no offers to fix the issue. Also, though not really to the fault of The Wakehouse as I understand it is a bar, there was a group of middle aged drunken women standing around the bar being so loud, literally screaming, that I couldn't even hear myself speak. Really done with this place. I had hope for it as a new business in reedley that is open later than most and holds events, but it's let me down consistently. The only GOOD food I've had there was when I went my first time when they had just opened. read more

Came here last night with a friend for drinks and conversation. The bar staff was friendly and the drinks were decent. The only is that the pool tables are outside where it's cold and the food was not really good. I ordered some hot wings And to be honest The meat was really tough and tasted like they had freezer burn. The band was also setup Inside the bar. Wich the bar happens to be very small so if u wanna talk to either. You have to go outside or yell at each other. For me it was just an oddly built place. read more

First time trying the place out and beer was good but the food service was terrible. We arrived right before the dinner rush. The waitress was nice, (offered recommendations) but we waited 45 minutes for our food. Other people arrived after us, about an hour later the waitress arrives with food to our table which actually happened to be the food of the people who arrived after us, even though we ordered 15 minutes before. They have something for everyone, and if they don't, they'll make something for you! #3... Dog friendly! It's great that we can go down for lunch or an early dinner and take the dogs and let them run around. If the dogs are bothering other people they can sit in the back of the truck.
