Let me preface with, I never complain! My buddy & I had 4 hours in Denver before our flight back to MN. We waited 45 minutes for our 2 topping, 10" pizza while everyone around us got their food. To top of the experience, when the non smiling server/bar tender girl brought us our za, there was no, "sorry for the wait" or "this ones on us". This is the first and last time I will ever come to this place. Came to see a friends band play, sat out on the enclosed patio with friends. The have these 3 propane gas heaters just cranked all the way, it's freaking 80 degrees in here. Everyone is just miserable, I'm in a short sleeve shirt and sweating. My group has requested several times to please turn the heaters down. The staff just completely ignored this request, they could care less. Forget this place, why pay to drink beer at a place where it's so hot the beer warms up in and the staff blows you off. Screw these people read more

Spent $25 on the pizza when you included the delivery cost. The delivery never happened. It wasn't a $25 pizza. I used their online ordering system and it didn't really work correctly. Received an email saying it would be 3 hours until the pie was delivered. I ended up driving to the place asking for take out instead of delivery. They couldn't refund my cost of delivery, so gave me a beer instead. The place was total amateur hour. They didn't know how to fix issues with their delivery website. Not sure what happened here, but the place has under gone some renovations with the establishment, and unfortunately with the staff. The people who I enjoyed working there are gone, and so has that loving feeling. Last time we went, place was slow, and the service slower. I have heard the same sentiment from other regulars as well. It's sad because they had one of my favorite pizzas in Denver. Will never ever return here again. Paid to see Mike Doughty play and it was the worst place I've ever been. So ok, Mike was a dick and we all know that, but it was the "bouncer" with a pony tail that pissed us off. First, he came over to shush us even though we weren't even talking. Plus he was staring at us from across the room just waiting. When my friend asked his buddy to get more beers in between songs, he was escorted out, and the bouncer even grabbed his arm and made a scene. After that I left and joined my friend outside the bar. Then my other two friends were also kicked out for talking IN BETWEEN SONGS. Obviously this just ruins the moment so as we were outside waiting for a friend to get her pizza to go, the bouncer came out to start even more shit. We went to another bar and found several others were treated really crappy too. I'm fine with being quiet during a concert. But expecting a standing room only at 1030 at night to be completely quiet in between songs is just stupid. Oh the pizza sucks!! read more

Though it won't be the best pizza you'll have in Denver, it's worth going to. Love the location and it's usually not so crowded during the weekdays. The pizza slices are huge, flavorful, and the thin crust is perfect. I wouldn't recommend going during their busy hours because you definitely will not receive any "service" since everyone is busy busting their butts to fill orders. If you go on a slow night, the staff is friendly and even suggests their favorite pizzas. read more

I "heart" The Walnut Room & The RiNO District too! The Happy Hour is still the best in town, even with the absence of the $5 pizza (but who cares, it's only a dollar extra for the cheese pizza which is amazing even without extra toppings). I love the pizza here and I always have. I loved their salads as well, but the last few times I have ordered the salad was limp, sad and looked old. Apart from that I love this place. So pretty pretty please fix your salads. I get delivery but you used to be so much better, also please bring back the eco friendly containers. read more

Let me start by saying that I'm writing about the pizza...not the music venue. Now I'll say, I'm not a live music fan, but I am a pizza fan - and this is one of the best tickets in town. There are no frills here. When you can find a table, they'll just put the pie in front of you and give you a few pieces of heavy paper to eat it from - no knives, forks and plates - who needs 'em anyway? I suggest the Iron Maiden pizza - it's basically a meat and hog lover's pizza. And order a medium - when we go here two of us always order a large, anticipating boxing it up and bringing it home. I'll start out by saying that overall I enjoyed the venue itself and would absolutely go to another show here. What I'm not sure of is whether or not I'd try to eat/drink here again first. Our first visit started out well enough, got a patio seat and started deciding what to order. 20 minutes later, we still hadn't been greeted while new tables around us had. So we stopped someone, they got all deer-in-the-headlights and said they'd find someone. 10 minutes later someone greeted us then tried to run off without taking orders. No way. We ordered. And then waited. Drinks took another 10 minutes. 10 minutes after that we checked on food. More deer-in-the-headlights. I'm pretty sure they forgot to drop the ticket, since all the parties around us had been served (maybe we're just very forgettable?). 10 more minutes and we need to move into the venue space. Our server, who had been trying, says she can bring the pizza to us. Which we finally get a half hour later. The kicker? It was the wrong order. No manager in sight, but we'd overheard someone else saying that they were short staffed. I get it, restaurants get busy. I work in one, I know. But I'd called earlier that day and was told that it was going to be a very popular show, so if they were short staffed they had time to find coverage. As a customer, we shouldn't have to follow up that much asking for service, for food, for our check and to report on the experience. Plus it shouldn't be that much of a surprise that we weren't happy. But the venue itself and the show was fantastic, great sound and definitely worth the wait. read more

Went here a few weeks ago. It's really small in the front area and we had a group on about 10-15 people, but we came earlier (about 5ish on a saturday) The food was actually pretty good. NOT Gormet or fancy at all, but it was good. The pizza is greesy.... omg, but I love greesy pizza... My brother in law got wings and gave me one and they were actually really good too. Beer was awesome, cold and cheap. was fun bouncing from table to table trying different pizza's. If your wanting just to chill and some drinks this place is really fun. This is our local watering hole, and how we meet most of our neighbors in our loft building ;-) Walnut Room is also some of our favorite pizza- the mile high club is to die for if you like kitchen sink style! The patio is great in the summer- pretty large. Their happy hour is always pretty good too. When never actually been for a show, but have always heard good things about them. I'm giving The Walnut Room 5 stars based on their pizza alone. I've been in for drinks a couple of times and seen a show there once (they do have a good sound system, but they don't book many acts that interest me), but they deliver pizza to my house upwards of 4 times a month. The pizza is thin crust and square cut, but that doesn't do it justice. It's simply great and if you live in the Five Points/Curtis Park area, don't you dare give Papa John's or Dominoes another cent of your money. I have been a regular for over a year. Up until recently I would have given them a good review but as of lately, im extremely disappointed. The staff never seems to pay attention. Which is probably why it takes them 30 to 45 minutes to serve my food after ordering. Having worked at a pizza place for a few years I know it only takes 10 to 15 minutes to cook and serve pizza. I'm going to say the the pizza is thin and crispy, greasy and cheesy. It was good, but not great, but I think they added some addictive ingredient in it that makes you want more. I've heard of The Walnut Room before, mostly as a music venue but also for their pizza. I've even had their pizza before, delivered to The Meadowlark when we were hanging out on their patio. The pizza is good. Nothing to get excited about (they use rabbit pellet sausage, a huge minus in my book), but also nothing to get pissed off about. We actually went to The Walnut Room for the first time for a Sunday afternoon kid's concert (The Dinosaur Squad, pretty fun). Yeah, I'm the Dad of a toddler now, and this was a good opportunity to hang with other parents and kids and drink beer. Now, driving down Walnut toward TWR you start to think "What the hell am I getting into?" especially when you have your 14 month old in the car. It's a very industrial area, so I was expecting TWR to be huge, broken down garage type building. It's totally not! TWR is a new, brick building with a parking lot and plenty of street parking around it. There is a nice big patio out front. Inside, the bar/restaurant area is clean but small, if not cramped. Especially with a bunch of parents with their kids waiting to get into the stage area. The stage area is also small, but I'm going to call it "intimate". I would love to see a rock show here. Walnut Room has so much to offer, let me list the ways. Large parking lot, music venue, large patio with TV's (in the winter there is a big space heaters and it is covered) Nice size bar with plenty of beer options on tap. DELICIOUS thin crust pizza, savory buffalo bites. And round it off with a chill environment. It is a great alternative to fighting the crowds downtown! I read somewhere that they are expanding their menu, which is exciting. One thing I wish is they would expand there delivery area so it reaches to my house. My recommendation is to check it out, eat lunch there then explore the area and check out the surrounding breweries. read more

I've never eaten at the Walnut Room, I've only ever ordered food from them while enjoying HH at Stem Ciders just down the street. I have to say they have really delicious gluten free pizza and their baked wings are also really yummy. Great pizza but even better music! Like all other place in the RiNo this place is blowing up. But, give credit where credit is due, Walnut Room was one of the first to hold their ground in the undesirable location that has now become the new it place, so congrats! Yes the food is certainly great for bar food but the menu is pretty simple, again it bar food so don't expect to be wowed. The magic is behind the little black door that opens up into an intimate music venue that had hosted several big name through the years and all that attend get to feel as though they are having a coffee/beer with a close friend......that friend being the talent on stage. The place is so small but has amazing acoustics. If your favorite artist ever comes to town and plays the walnut room DONT MISS IT! read more
