I came here a few months ago on a Saturday evening and it was busy! The restaurants decor was nice but a little confusing because in my Opinion I didn't think it aligned with the food they had on the menu. I will also say the seating area towards the front of the restaurant is a bit close but not uncomfortable. None the less the food was good I'd give it about a 3.5-4 stars. I ordered the pork chops and a dessert. The waiter was super attentive/accommodating and friendly. Because the seating is so close I didn't have trouble hearing the person I was with even though it was really busy and noisy. I'd love to go back and try other items on the menu. read more

The Warehouse came recommended from a local coworker. I took two other out of town colleagues for dinner here and we had a wonderful time. Our server, Eddie, was great and very tentative. We ordered a nice bottle of wine that had all the summer vibe and was delicious. We shared the crawfish and shrimp beignet which was so yummy and the sauce was fantastic. I had the sautéed shrimp Diane while my other coworkers had the Étouffée and the salmon. We were so full from dinner we opted out of dessert. Terrible. Went for lunch and the food was really bad. All of the food tasted and looked like it had been waiting under a hot lamp for 30 min. The fried oysters were rubbery and there was just a small portion. Even the pickle served with the oysters looked wilted. The lobster salad was not much better with tough and wilted avocado. I will say there was a nice portion of lobster. The very worst was the peach cobbler. It tasted about a week old with a soggy crust. Horrible. Our server was not much better. Came here with the whole fam for my mother's birthday dinner, and it was a very good experience from start to finish! The restaurant is long and skinny, like many places in Old Town, but they make good use of their space, in my opinion. We were seated in a raised booth area that had an easy place to hang our coats and bangs on the other side of where we were. We ordered some appetizers to share, including the calimari which I really enjoyed, and the texas cloaked shrimp, which I didn't think was worth the price since you only get four shrimp, but was tasty. My sister-in-law and brother also got a half-dozen raw oysters. I got a chance to try the She-crab soup, which our waitress recommended and was very good -- had a slight peppery kick to it that I really enjoyed but was too spicy for my mom. I also got the spinach salad which was pretty large and had a ton of gorgonzola on it (yum for me, but might be too much for others!) For my entree I got the special which was the horseradish-crusted salmon, which had a beautiful presentation but unfortunately upon first bite I felt it was a little bland. I remembered seeing something about a sauce on the menu, so I asked our waitress if I'd received the right dish. She said it was the right one, but then a manager saw us having a conversation and stepped in, saying that it was supposed to have come with a sauce on top. They brought the sauce out and it made the whole dish come alive! It was a lobster & leek lemon sauce that I seriously could have drank right out of the bowl. They were very nice and they also comp'd a dessert for me to make up for the mix-up, which I told them was unnecessary but they insisted. I opted for their house special, the traditional caramel custard and it. was. amazing. SO smooth and creamy, I couldn't believe it. I would hands-down return just for that dessert in the future! I was totally looking to go back to my southern roots so I decided to land at the warehouse. I called in advance was told bar and patio had lots of seating. When I arrived it was a madhouse. I won a seat outside with little space heaters that didn't provide no heat at all. Wasn't the best idea and I should have just walked. However, the customer service from the wait staff and food was enough for me to enjoy myself. The gator bites are so good, and the catfish melt your soul. I've been to this restaurant several times, always for brunch. The staff is always great. The atmosphere is great for a date, or an outing with friends. The food is always delicious, added bonus brunch entrees come with a complementary glass of sparkling wine. I was seated promptly...always great when you're a party of 1. I started off with the alligator bites served with a creole mustard. They were tender, seasoned well, and presented in a simple manner. Sometimes that's best. I did order a cup of the She Crab Soup....holy moses! It was peppery, creamy, and packed full of flavor! I could seriously consume a gallon of this soup. For dinner, I had the Branzino special topped with crawfish and lumo crab meat and topped with a mustard hollandaise. Ermagerd! This was AMAZING! It was tender and flaky (the fish) the crawfish and crab meat was perfectly seasoned and the Hollandaise ties it all together! I was so stuffed, I passed on desert. Date night at the Warehouse and I absolutely LOVE this place!! I started visiting Old Town Alexandria in the summer and have grown to love the area. It's a very cute walking town with several great businesses and restaurants. It's about 20 miles from Upper Marlboro and a pretty nice drive past the MGM and National Harbor. We walked in and were seated right away. The host asked if we wanted to check our coats so we did. It's New Orleans cuisine and what could be better We were very surprised that the chargrilled oysters were not on the menu, my boyfriend was downright disappointed lol. Our second choice was the BBQ shrimp and they didn't disappoint. Excellent flavor, perfect amount of heat. We both chose fish for the entree. We ordered a few things: CAJUN FRITTO MISTO SURF AND TURF PAN ROASTED MAINE SALMON 2 SIDE SALADS 4 COCKTAILS The steak from the surf and turf steak was very over cooked (medium, was well done) so we asked for a new one, which was under (rare), but my friend wasn't going to complain again lol. The crab cake wasn't great at all, kind of mushy. The salmon was very flavorful I would recommend, but the mash potatoes did give me college cafeteria vibes, but nonetheless good. Service was excellent. Water glasses stayed filled, they checked on us multiple times throughout the meal. The food was excellent! $95 for 3 entrees and 3 appetizers. My only criticism is the music selection, lol but the volume was fine and didn't disturb our conversation. Solid steak and service! For a spot called "The Warehouse", it's pretty upscale inside but you can dress very casually (because we were!). We arrived in a group of 7 without a reservation on a Wednesday evening and were seated right away. With a second floor, they have plenty of room. To start, we ordered a super smooth bottle of pinot grigio which lasted us about 6 glasses and perfectly tender and tasty Gator Bites and Calamari (tentacles included- YAY!). The gator bites were a real hit with my entire family including my kids. For my main, my 7 oz. Grilled Filet Mignon arrived perfectly cooked to medium rare (my request) atop delicious smashed potatoes with a wine and marrow-based bordelaise sauce and asparagus. It was so good that I finished my whole damn plate! My kids also enjoyed their slightly sweet Asian-style Noodles with Vegetables. We were all so full that none of us had room for dessert. read more

My sister raved about this place and has been dying to take me here to try their she crab soup, which is supposed to be the best. We came in for lunch and definitely felt underdressed being that we just came from the gym. I almost wanted to leave but was told it's not a big deal and that people wear whatever...but when I see the wait staff wearing tuxedo shirts and bow ties that implies that the dress code is more like a business casual. I started off with the cup of she crab soup.....eh. Maybe my sis overhyped the soup because I was not impressed. The crab meat was gritty and didn't have a lot of lump pieces that I love to find. The flavor of the soup though, was delicious and a bit on the spicy side. For my entrée I went with the spicy pecan crusted chicken. It was a huge portion so I only ate half of it and took the rest home. It was a pretty average dish, wasn't awful but wasn't anything to get too excited over. Getting straight to the point, would have had more stars, but for a place with tablecloths you expect a little more when it come to presentation of food if it doesn't fill the plate. The potatoes were very dissapointing as well. Felt more like I was eating at an average diner, beyond their signature crabcakes which were delightful. Granted we were here for brunch and maybe this is the kind of place more worthy of lunch or dinner instead with their various seafood and steak offerings. Visited Alexandria Virginia for the first time and use Yelp to find some places that were worthy of my one evening dinner. I wanted something classy and elegant yet relevant and fun. I found it! Parking was around the corner, on the street. But it was free because it was almost near 8 PM. We had a reservation and receded promptly. The service and staff were all incredible. The host, Tsegaye, had a beautiful smile and he was so welcoming. My date and I sat by the window which overlooks the historic street. We ambience was so great! Caricatures all over the walls bring a fan and cheerful vibe, yet the folded napkins on the table and pressed linens deliver some elegance. And Lgtb representation alongside couples and families of all ages always puts a smile on my face. Our server, Rahel, was so sweet! She explained all the specials and answered all of our questions. And even took our photo! The wines are abundant and served at a good temperature. As an appetizer we tried the alligator and when I say it tasted like popcorn chicken: if this place wasn't so renowned I would've thought they were lying to us; It tastes exactly like chicken! We also got the scallops as an appetizer and even though this place might not be known for its Mexican vibe, their guacamole is some of the best I've ever had in the world! The crabcake, standalone, is the most meaty, flavorful, worth it piece of food I've ever eaten. Typically crabcakes have a lot of butter and herbs and seasoning to flavor the meat and almost serve as a filler so that the crabcake cake can stay together. This was an actual crab patty. It was chock-full of lump crabmeat which was to die for. My date and I were so impressed! ($17 worth it) My date got the veal top with jumbo lump crab meat as her dinner. And I got the Shrimp Diane. Both of which were amazing and really great portions! I think if we hadn't ordered such delicious appetizers though, I may have been hungry. But in culmination, it was a great dinner! A+ to The Warehouse because this place is amazing! That being said, we took a walk around Alexandria after and saw plenty of restaurants that didn't come up on our yelp search. So this is a great starter, but, Yelpers, we must permeate down there more and keep getting good reviews all around!! read more

Cajun restaurant with all of your typical dishes from Louisiana. I was here for dinner on new years eve. Unfortunately based on my experience there with our waiter Alberto, I will never return. We were a party of four and Alberto our waiter didn't came back once to check on us. Forgets to bring our drink order out and when he remembered (15 minutes later) he just asked if I still wanted it. Didn't apologize or anything. He didn't seem to be really happy that we were a big table and nobody is drinking any alcohol drinks and/or ordered appetizers. He however managed to pay a lot of attention to the bigger table of 8 that was drinking and have a bigger check. The lobster calamari pasta was over cooked and blant. It sauce was over empowered with tomatoes. I wished it was a much better experience as the atmosphere was nice. I could totally see this place as a great date night. read more

I have been here before and, as always, the food was excellent. My semi-special order was done to perfection! The reason for the 2 stars is the unremarkable and inattentive service. We were sat reasonably quickly and drink and food orders were taken timely. After the food was served--nothing. Not a table check, not a drink refill, not even an acknowledgement that we existed. It was not that busy on a Monday at 8:30 pm and there appeared to be adequate staff. Long after we were finished, our plates were cleared and we declined dessert. More than an unreasonable amount of time passed before we could get our check. I do commend the Payment app as we would probably still be there waiting to check out. Hosted a Friendsgiving here a couple weeks ago for a party of 20 people. No fuss whatsoever in marking the reservation and they assured me they could do separate checks for all guests. The day of the event, it rained and there was a horrible accident which caused most of my party to either cancel or late up to 45 minutes. They didn't seat the guests that arrived until I showed up (as the host) which I understand and there is a bar so they were able to get drinks. It ended up being a total of 12 people. Staff was accommodating even though at one point the waiter tried to get us to combine checks. He finally conceded and the night went great. Food was great, company even better. The only reason I can't give 5 stars is because after we had eaten, the wait staff and manager kept hovering over our table like they were rushing for us to leave. Finally told me it was because they had another party after ours that they had booked. Would've been helpful to know there was a time limit on the reservation...it made our night end earlier than expected. Overall still a good time. read more

Apparently the men's room is on the lower level so if you happen to be seated upstairs then it is your quest in life to experience that; ladies room is upstairs. So I guess you should pick your seating based upon bladder size. The food was so-so. The wedge salad had artificial bacon bits that are Pop Rocks crunchy, so that set the mood for the entire meal. At least the dressing was good. I had flounder stuffed with crab and crawfish I believe. Now others sitting outside raves about the food, but I was not in this group. It was very bland and needed plenty of salt/pepper to resuscitate my taste buds. I think I had a slither of a flounder folded over to create the appearance of a stuffed something. The second entree was surf and turf which is a classic. Well you could actually taste the turf that the cattle had his last stand on. The crab cake was alright, but nothing to write home about. We were greeted by a very happy host who made us feel welcome for Sunday brunch! I was surprised to see that there were not very many people here on Sunday at 11 am. The food was absolutely amazing here, especially for the price. I love the chicken sandwich (John Carlyle). It had two chicken patties (or maybe it was one big one) so they didn't skimp on the protein. The sauce that came with it was really good as well as the gator bites sauce. Since my birthday is around inauguration, DC wasn't an option so Old Town Alexandria was the next best thing, if not better.
