The Wash Spot is a pretty good, no really good, laundromat. It runs completely on a card system, so no need to worry about hording quarters. Also, when you load $20 cash onto your card, they give you a bonus $4! Sweet deal, and not the only one. You can register your card to your name and address so that if you lose it, they can replace it. Additionally, for a registered card, every 11th wash is free. Here are their rates: Wash: 2-load $1.99 3-load $3.29 5-load $5.89 8-load $9.89 Dry: 4-load $.39/11min 8-load $.79/11min Do the math, wash is maybe a tad high, but dry is cheap and flexible. But with the bonus deal, totally reasonable. And did I mention that they are open 24/7? And have free WiFi? And, if you are a college student, they will match when you add $20 to your card? This place feels really ran down. From how they never stock toliet paper, the cracked window with the duct tape treatment, the lint compartment was slightly open and people had been using a trash bin to hold it closed so they could use the big dryers, there are two of them and they both have open lint compartments! There is graffiti on the walls in the bathroom! The last time I came I had forgotten my wash card at home and couldn't wash my clothes because there were no wash cards in stock in the card vending machine. I will return because I love the big dryers and washing machines, plus the security of the cameras and the wifi isnt too bad either! A little time, effort and money could make this place back into a 4-5 star washing spot. I can definitely understand how it might not be worth it, people can be jerks after all. read more

It needs some fans or air!! I was driving though town so I am NOT fond of card systems as it only works well for long term residence... but PLEASE get some fans going for your poor customers! There is a fan/air conditioner in the wall that does not work.... and it had to be over 90 degrees in there at 8:00 p.m. Nice to have wi-fi but had to sit outside on the picnic tables with the mosquitoes to use it. as it was a cool 70 degrees outside. They rip you off with cards you have to buy to use in the machines. You end up with money on the cards but not enough to run another load or to justify another trip there. Ridiculously expensive in the end. The dryers were filthy and I had to clean the filters myself. They looked as though they hadn't been cleaned in months. Ended up breathing in the dust. The filters were still disgusting even after I tried to clean them. Not the costumers job. read more

You're better off taking your clothes down to the Winooski river and beating them against a rock. There is no air conditioning (or even a fan) during the hot summer months. All of the machines operating causes it to get so hot you can barely stand to stay in the building for any longer than necessary. You can either sit in your car (also hot) or sit by the stinky dumpsters. The bathrooms are a little gross and always out of paper towels or toliet paper. The worst part is the wash card system. Its inconvenient that $10 is the least amount of money that you can put on your card when paying by credit card. Also the wierd pricing makes it hard to totally spend all that is on your card. I also have been charged double for loads of laundry. I emailed the owner and was told that he would look into it. I never heard back from him and the $6.19 was never added back to my card. read more

Super convenient and inexpensive. We were visiting friends and wanted to clean our hosts' sheets and towels. The wash spot has machines that will wash/dry FOUR loads at a time-- one machine says it'll wash, like, 8 loads at a time. My mind was blown. It was so convenient, my husband thought it would take hours, when it took a little under an hour to do three sets of sheets and two sets of towels. They use a wash card and there's NO NEED FOR QUARTERS. The wash card machine was super confusing but another customer was so nice and helped me out. She also gave me a cap of liquid detergent because the dry stuff they sell there allegedly isn't very good. Yeah, it's hot in there, but there are picnic tables outside in the shade on the river and there's free wifi. read more

Guard your wallet, or more precisely, your "card" here!! Not due to other customers, but the thieving machines & manager! And don't expect to get any customer service on a Sunday, even if you DO talk to the manager! I inserted my card to a 3-load wash for $3.54, & nothing happened. (I've washed here before so I know to expect the digital countdown. But nothing this time.) It was a hot Sunday afternoon & this was my 6th & last load. I just wanted to be done. So I inserted it thinking that it did not "read" my card the 1st time. Well, it sure had read my card the 1st time bc the balance had been -$3.54. Now it had been deducted TWICE & still nothing! I went around the back & found the manager hanging out with a friend. I told him what happened & he said he couldn't do anything that day. He said to come back the following day. Great - just what a busy person that is temporarily without a washer & dryer needs. I picked up that last load & all the other 5 wet loads & went down the street to the friendly & accessible laundromat at 321 North Winooski. Staff is present, friendly, & willing to answer questions. I finished my laundry there & picked up some delicious Pho Hong to boot! Changed my evening! I return 2 days later to the rip off laundromat & remind the manager about what happened. He didn't seem to care until I mentioned that I work at a local college & will be sending my reviews of the local laundromats to incoming students. He then takes my card # & writes $3.54. I explain to him that I was deducted $3.54 TWICE. He nodded & said to check my balance the NEXT day. Great - I need to come here again?!?! A THIRD visit because I was ripped off?!?! So I return 3 weeks later to use up the $7 I should have been credited. I insert my card & I was credited only $3.54! I add money to the card because it's 10pm & I need to do laundry. I get some machines going & this time, a 2-load machine does not start. I slide my card in again thinking it did read my card. Guess what?? IT HAD DEDUCTED $2.14, & then again! It did work the 2nd time, but now I am paying $4.24 for a double load instead of $2.14. I am not going to bother trying to communicate with the manager any more & just try to warn all unsuspecting customers. I am cutting my losses & not coming back ever again! Save yourself the grief of machines that steal your money & a manager who doesn't give a shit. read more

I have to drive by other laundromats to get here, but it's worth it. The machines are well maintained, the hot water is actually hot, the wifi really exists, and you don't have to fool around with quarters because they use a card system. This is by far the best of the four laundromats I've tried since moving here. It can get crowded, so I try to go early in the morning. While there are plenty of machines, there's not much space to move around or fold your clothes when there are people there, and I wish the air conditioning worked better in the summer, otherwise I'd give it 5 stars. read more

This place is okay I guess. One of the windows is broken and they duct taped it back together. Their prices are high for one load, I usually spend about $10 just on my clothes alone every visit. Also they say they have A/C but they definitely don't. I have a student discount but I had to argue with the manager to get him to give it to me even after I e-mailed him, which was hard because he didn't speak English. I gave up. Wi-fi can be spotty. I like their card system though, gets rid of all the quarters. You pay to load money on a card and use that instead. Nice view outside. read more

Pretty good usually, except when one of their machines breaks, they have no one on staff to put up a sign, so you end up losing money. Then when you try to call them you get a dead line, then when you email them, they answer back once or twice, but don't address your concern or provide a refund. The music doesn't stop and is horrible, at least have a mute button somewhere, or, just maybe, have the radio out??? Or turned down??? Or not on a shitty pop channel??? There's never any toilet paper, and there's always trash everywhere. Honestly I've lived in many hotels and had to use plenty of laundry matts and this is the worst of them. Your Wi-Fi works on phones, but not laptops??? And no, this isn't a glitch on my personal laptop, my friends have brought theirs and so have my family members.
