They've just expanded a bit, and are serving the same good quality breakfast/brunch fare as before! We ordered a fried chicken biscuit and I was really impressed by it. The size was a bit over the top, but that's what I get for ordering an entire chicken thigh on a soft buttermilk biscuit - the structural integrity of the sandwich would have been more sound had I gotten it on brioche. I don't think it needed egg, but then again, I have a smaller appetite than most. Very delicious, crispy, juicy chicken though :). It hit the spot for me! Another constant for Washburne is they have a really nicely brewed batch coffee... As in, it doesn't taste burnt, gross, or like work conference coffee - it actually tastes good. Better than the way others batch brew Farmer's Union coffee!

    Sausage biscuit. Delicious.

This place is always a must when I'm in the area! The biscuits are actually to die for! I got the breakfast sandwich and it was the perfect pick me up! The portions are small so i wouldn't come here for a full breakfast but it is nice to grab something and go. I was in this weekend and it took over 30 minutes to get our food so be prepared to wait! And my coffee was a little watered down but it was pretty busy in there. I've been before and had better experiences!

Delicious and beautiful. Perfect spot for my brunch and grading papers. So happy that Springfield has a great coffee shop.

Super cute spot!! It can be busy, but I've never had trouble finding a place to sit. Even if it's cold you can brave the picnic tables outside. Service is good. If you're dining in, go to the counter to get your drinks but they will bring your food to you. Bus your own table. If you want water, it's by the silverware, which you will need to grab yourself. Bathrooms in the back. Food is very good. Biscuits and gravy is one of my favs. Street parking, so be patient with trying to find it, sometimes it's hard.

We enjoyed our breakfast visit at The Washburn Cafe in Springfield. It was nice to get away from the hustle and bustle closer to UofO yet this place was really not far. They were super busy with locals and visitors but the staff handled it well and their counter service made it easy. The breakfast sandwiches were yummy and the coffees right on the mark.

Great food and coffee, but the girls up front have horrible customer service. I expect a little more in the PNW.

The women looked at it for a sec and then confidently said yes, which I thought was odd because it appeared to be Torani and I know the ingredient list says stuff like "natural flavors" which means you would have to email the company to find out. Anyway, I decided to order the drink since the syrup was vegan and saw they had alternative milks (specific options weren't listed). I was never sure if this drink was supposed to have milk though and she didn't asked so I assumed it didn't. The drink was tasty, but then I stared to feel not great and had a stomach ache. This was very unusual for me since I have a strong stomach. I've been vegan 10y so it is very likely I am lactose intolerant. I thought back in my memory and did think I remembered the drink being a little white, but I thought since it was so obvious I was vegan that hopefully she used plant milk. I decided to contact themt to be saafe. Website link doesn't work, phone doesn't work.... so I sent them a message on Facebook. They opened it later that day and IGNORED me. I am very upset about this as that is horrible customer service and this could be a serious issue if I were allergic to dairy and they used cow milk. TL;DR: My main issues are: 1. Likely used cow milk when it was clear I was vegan. I am suspicious since she did not ask about plant milk preference. I felt sick after drinking it. 2. Ignored a message from a concerned customer who might be having a medical issue after consuming one of their products.

I walked up and was instantly greeted by both employees at the stand. The menu is right next to the window. The Drink & Food: I ordered a 10oz Steamer [Kid's menu]. A steamer is basically hot milk with flavored syrup. Cool Beanz has an amazingly long list of flavored syrups; you can mix them up! An employee said, "the limit is only your imagination." I recommend coming if you want to be creative with your drinks and be out of the box, they would totally cater to it! I chose hazelnut and toasted vanilla. The barista accidentally poured too much syrup and asked if I wanted it to be extra sweet. Along if I wanted it to be a kid's temperature. I said yes to both, and he obliged. I bought a chocolate jumbo muffin too. It is a basic one from Costco. The Price: The 10oz steamer was $2. The jumbo muffin was $1.50 (pretty sure cheaper than the Dari-mart across the street; same Costco muffins). I think the menu prices are affordable compared to Dutch and Starbucks. Maybe only a few drinks actually reached $5 in price. Extra: They do have coffee specials. They have dog treats! Also, they do fill refillable cups. (I couldn't see the price menu for that too well. But it was about $0.50 off the coffee size on the menu - nice discount and saving the planet!) Overall, if you want some change in your daily coffee, definitely stop by Cool Beanz. Plus, they are local, so you're helping out the community!
