The food is incredible, the cappuccino tasted funny & the amount of flies was disgusting. I can get past the cappuccino being off because their breakfast sandwich was even better tasting than the pictures that brought me in. Definitely go for the extra $1.50 for meet & $1 for the biscuit. It's a steal of a deal. However this place could be 5 stars if there wasn't a disgusting amount of flies. I constantly stopped sipping & eating to swat them. Order at the cashier, she was super helpful and explained things, made recommendations. Coffee was great, had an iced vanilla latte, great non-coffee options too. My daughter and husband had the Washburne which is a pork belly egg sandwich - my daughter had hers on brioche and my husband had the biscuit. I had a bite and it was sooooo delicious. The biscuit is large, fluffy, not crumbly. An absolutely perfect biscuit. I had an egg sandwich on the biscuit that had butter lettuce, thick perfectly cooked bacon, mama Lila's peppers, and a blue cheese sauce. Super good as well. No complaints about this place. I absolutely love this place! I might be a little biased since I know the owner, but here are my honest thoughts! The atmosphere is incredible. It is the perfect casual, yet classy coffee shop. The decor is so beautiful that you always have something nice to enjoy and look at while you drink and eat. The seating super comfortable and the window seating is so nice to enjoy on a nice summer day. The coffee is great. For nice espresso coffee drink the price is really quite affordable. The choice of roast is amazing and Charlie does an amazing job brewing the drinks. You always get some sort of foam art and really it is quite scrumptious. The food is amazing as well today they were making doughnuts and it was a great deal. Three small doughnuts for $2. They were fresh, sweet and great. There are plenty of other food options, more breakfast options typically. The price on the food is a bit on the expensive side, however if you take into consideration that they are just starting out it's not that bad. Any local might say this place has been around awhile and isn't that great, but its recent as of this past year that it has come under new management. They are working hard to make this a great hang out place with good food and coffee. We will always be coming back and as often as we can! The first time I came here I just got an iced soy latte with a biscuit. It was a good latte, but not great. But the biscuit man, that is a great biscuit. The second time I came I decided to treat myself a little and I got the pork belly biscuit sandwich and a Soy Chai Latte. I would give the biscuit sandwich a 7/5 stars if I could, I loved it. Everything about it was perfect from the pork belly, the egg, and the biscuit. The only thing I had an issue with was how messy it was, but that was to be expected. The atmosphere is very open floor, but cozy. The decorations are nice and neutral tones and the couches are comfy (the most important thing for me). Except with subpar vibes and so-so coffee. Let's begin. Environment and decor are spot-on cute. I especially loved the accent pillows with the wooden interior and exposed brick. What was not-so-cute was the lady barista who was short with me and my order. For reference, I carefully asked for an iced americano with *some* steamed milk over top and vanilla, explaining in the most polite way that I like the textures of the barely mixed coffee and steamed milk. This is something I commonly have at coffee shops that I local in SoCal but I suppose that's beside the point. What I received was some eye rolling, an annoyed tone, and essentially an unmixed latte. Lol. Tons of milk. My boyfriend and his sister both ordered flavored iced lattes. Ratio was really just SO much milk. I understand the the 1:3 ratio of espresso to milk but boy, the milk was poured with a heavy hand. When I had a sip of it, I needed to put on my binoculars because I couldn't find the coffee in that drink! Also worth discussing: the adorable mini cupcakes. Charming by appearance but cold and dense (they are stored in the fridge) in bite. Not quite a fresh cupcake by my understanding but likely better with a hot cup of drip coffee. Don't know if I just ordered the wrong thing but I wasn't too thrilled about feeling unwelcome and a nuisance for ordering a drink. *shrug* read more

Latte was good and so was the barista. Cashier guy a bit awkward and not ver friendly. The maple scone wasn't that impressive. The main issue I had was the amount of flies in the place. The person dining with me had to give up her $5 tea to the flies who actually got in her cup. Craft coffee. Located downtown with street parking in a historic, brick, storefront building that feels romantic yet current. They have a simple menu and everything that we ordered was good. A homemade style pop tart, a breakfast sandwich with melted cheese, egg, and sausage, a latte, and a black coffee, which is bottomless in a mug "for here". The interior is open and modern without feeling cold so they've done a really nice job with that. Helps to bring Springfield downtown into the 21st century a little bit more every day LOL. We spent about 17$ all together. A reasonable & simple breakfast. I'll go back. I probably wouldn't order here if I was in a hurry because you'll need to park and go in. However it's a great place if you have time to chill and want to meet with loved ones and friends. read more

Tasty food options, most everything I have tried has been good. 4. Private room the the back you can reserve 5. Light and airy space, decent amount of seating 6. Coffee prices are reasonable for the good quality 7. Friendly staff Not Great 1. Loud. Due to is popularity, it can get quite loud in the restaurant so be prepared to shout to have conversation 2. Parking can be a challenge 3. Portland-Hipster Vibe. If you are averse to this type of aesthetic, this may annoy you. 4. They need to attach names to orders. A lot of people order the same thing and will definitely pick up your order if you are not paying attention. 5. World's saddest Avocado Toast. 6. The biggest issue with me is the seating. They have very uncomfortable metal chairs throughout that are so painful to sit in. The fun part of going to a cafe is sitting and enjoying coffee and conversation. If you can't do that because the seating doesn't fit your body type then that enjoyment is gone. If you are tall, pregnant, plus size/husky, or have any back issues, you will need to take your order to go or suffer the pain of the metal chairs. Overall, I really like Washburne, it's a cute spot with good coffee. With some more inclusive seating and adding names to orders, it will be 5 stars. read more

I have been to Washburne cafe twice in this week and I love it. Coffee is perfect! Their latte and flavors have been very good and natural. I have tried vanilla latte and cinnamon with brown sugar latte; I have loved it. I have tried their breakfast and it been great. Their breakfast menu is limited but everything in the menu is made to perfection! Granola with yogurt and berry compote is delicious!
