This time I stayed in the Venice Beach room. It doesn't have a patio or balcony like the other rooms Ive stayed in but it does have a nice view of a lovely garden below and a glimpse of the ocean. They have a delightful full breakfast delivered to your room each morning and a wine and cheese hour. The only downside of the room is there is no ac so it is really warm at night even with the windows open. I also didn't discover a fan available until too late. Tip If you walk across the bridge in front of the hotel there's a set of stairs that take you down to the beach. Overall a lovely stay and I can't wait to return!

If you're staying here, I would recommend not just using it as a place to sleep - try to actually indulge in all the amenities they have to offer. Did I mention the freshly baked cookies at 7 PM? Our room had a fireplace with an ocean view. We were able to enjoy our wine in our private patio and even got the cutest thermos set to take home! The breakfast in bed was delightful. It was on time and fresh. Food was just okay, but the daily special (French toast) hit the mark. Great for anniversaries, birthdays, Valentine's Day or any other celebration!

They offered complementary wine in the evening and breakfast in the morning. Their breakfast was provided by nearby bakeries which was really nice to support/highlight local businesses! The hotel was clean, quiet, and staff were all very friendly. Even the interactions that we witnessed were all very helpful and pleasant. This hotel is walking distance to a few restaurants by utilizing the walking path along the water. The only negative about our stay was the temperature in the room. It was very warm (even in March) and since there is no air conditioning we were forced to keep the back door open and bugs were coming in from the crack of the screen door. Otherwise very pleasant stay and we'd come back.

Daily breakfast is included with your stay. The breakfast consists of pastries, bagels/ cream cheese, yogurt, oatmeal and hard-boiled eggs. They also offer gluten-free bread and pastry options, which I appreciate. Coffee, tea and juices included. There is no hot food. One thing to point out is the rooms do not have air-conditioning. This typically isn't an issue because half Moon Bay runs cooler and comfortable temperatures for most of the year but my husband and I do prefer a colder room at night time so we slept with the door open. There was no ceiling fan, but they do have a couple of portable fans stored in the closets for use. Shower in our room had low water pressure, so not great for those with longhair. The hotel is right next-door to Sam's chowder House so easy walk. Beach access-there is a beautiful walking path right downstairs, which you can access from the hotel. The only thing between the walking path and the ocean is some rocks. I was told by a local that the water directly in front of the hotel is not swimmable but there is beach access with some water about 5 minute walk down the path. The path is smooth so easy for strollers, bikes or other means.

We didn't have any reservations and as we got closer to our destination, found this quaint B&B and decided to stop and check it out, even though I found a room on a 3rd party site. It was almost 8pm so the inn keeper wasn't on site but there is an intercom and a number to call for these situations. Sandra was very helpful and honored the price I had found on another site. Lucky us - the last room available was their Nantucket Suite! Check in was a breeze and Sandra walked me through the grounds via telephone, letting me know there was complimentary wine and cookies and also a hot breakfast served direct to our room in the morning. I loved our room! It was spacious and light, tastefully decorated and exactly what was needed after a few days on the road it also had a jacuzzi tub which I took full advantage of. Plush pink robes were provided as well. There is a coffee maker in the room, along with some complimentary water and some basic amenities such as :mini fridge, microwave, wine glasses, etc. a perfect place to stay for a few days even though we were only there for the night. The bed was a King sized and super comfortable; it had the perfect amount of blankets to cozy up in. Breakfast was brought at 9:20 (I chose the 9:30 slot so perfect timing) and consisted of scrambled eggs with chives, toasted English muffin with butter and jam, sausage and a variety of fruit, along with a cup of orange juice. A perfect way to start the day! We had a great night here and I highly recommend this Inn to anyone staying in the area. It's located in Main Street, very close to the downtown area with a lot of shops.

To start off with the positives; the location is nice, the woman at the front desk was pleasant, the room was very clean, spacious, tons of closet and dresser space. The mini fridge and keurig were nice to have. As was the wall mounted electric fireplace (just for ambiance). Now for the "just okay" stuff, the tv has dish but that's it. There was no way to connect to any apps or options besides basic dish. The WiFi was a bit spotty. The parking lot is tight and small. The bed was mostly comfortable but the mattress is definitely on the thin side. The mini fridge rattled every 30 mins or so. The building is old so the walls and doors definitely look worn down. All of which were not huge deals to me. Now, on to the cons. This is where I find the website to be misleading. First the ocean views may be visible from the top floor, most expensive rooms, however my view from a bottom level king suite, was the construction site next door, the highway, and a peek-a-boo view of the ocean from a break in the trees across the highway. I also had no sliding door or any outside space other than the shared decks in front of the inn. There is also no restaurant or food/drink available to order. However, the worst part (in my opinion), is the noise! I could hear every step taken above me, every time someone scooted a chair, turned on a shower, etc... I could also hear very clearly everything happening outside my room. To the point of worrying that the tv in my room would be too loud for the other guests. If I was to stay again, I would definitely request a room on the second floor. Overall I would say it's a decent inn and a good option if you're needing a quick overnight stay. A bit overpriced but I feel that tends to be anywhere close to the ocean. If you're looking for something fancy or newer with more updated amenities, I would go elsewhere.

Sitah and Dale (the owners) and their staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Their affable mien, as well as their superb culinary skills, made our stay memorable and deeply satisfying. We chose the East Room. It is lovingly decorated, spacious, and well-furnished. The queen size bed, desks, sofa, mini-fridge, and heater that warms up the toilet seat provide just about all of the creature comforts one needs. The room also has a fire stove to delight the pyromaniacs and a huge, deep stone soaker tub that can easily accommodate two sumo wrestlers (or half a dozen jockeys). A couple of things to note: (1) There's no cell phone reception (at least not T-Mobile or Sprint). But there is free WiFi. (2) While the windows and skylights may infuse the room with a bright and cheery feel, they may make it hard for you to sleep in late. So don't forget to pack your sleep mask.

I am so delighted to now say that Sitah and Dale made the most special day of my life a total dream. After searching up and down the California coast for a place to get married that felt "right", I was feeling pretty disheartened and was ready to throw in the towel. But, on a whim, we decided to take a trek to Bonny Doon on our way to another venue location and I happened upon the Redwood Croft for a potential place for out of town guests to stay. And wouldn't you know it, they mentioned they host events on their website! My now husband and I took a day and drove down the coast from San Mateo and stopped in to chat with Sitah about her home. The place was (is!) stunning and from the moment we set foot on the grounds, we knew it was the perfect place to get married. Sitah and Dale charge a reasonable amount for the 2 night rental of their whole B&B, plus having nearly 100 people on-site for a wedding! It was so magical to spend the night there before the wedding, then to wake up and eat Sitah's homemade blueberry pancakes (which she made a batch gluten free for me! So amazing!) and spend the rest of the day primping and relaxing before we said "I do!" on their beautiful back lawn and garden. They made everything go so smoothly and they opened their home to my family for the weekend -- it made the wedding weekend just sublime. Before we had our big day, the hub and I spent an impromptu overnighter at the Croft, just to get a feel for it. Our night was peaceful (we stayed in the East Room) and I can't wait to go back now and spend special weekends and anniversaries there. Thank you, Sitah and Dale, for making our day a true piece of romance. Our memories will be sweet and our life will be grand and you had a hand in making that come true for us!
