I am surprised that this wonderful shop doesn't have higher reviews! I would check out their reviews on google, which seem more well-rounded. This shop is a beautiful space, with lots of natural lighting and elegant seating for your group. It is run by a knowledgable mother-daughter team, with a wonderful selection of dresses. If you book online through their site for a same day appointment, I would call the shop to be sure that time is available. They were accommodating and welcoming to my group, which included a baby. read more

I agree with another reviewer that this shop's reviews should be higher but I feel like that is the story with Yelp, unfortunately... a lot of miserable. That said... the Wedding Dress is just the best. Period. I wanted to support a local business and when I saw the designers they carried, I was hopeful I'd find my dress there. I did and I'm so glad I did. It is a beautiful shop and Jessica and Nancy instantly make you feel at home, beautiful and comfortable whether you are trying on a gown or going for fittings. The alterations, by the way, were expertly done. They are incredibly knowledgeable, attentive and kind. They understand the emotions involved in wanting to find the best fit, they listen and are simply a joy to be around. We also rented our tuxes there as well and the process could not have been easier. All around just a wonderful shop with great people. I can't say enough good things. It's no wonder this place has 2 stars. I booked an appointment on Saturday after having a less than stellar experience at David's Bridal. I received a confirmation email about an hour later saying my appointment was approved and confirmed. I made plans with my family to drive down tonight to go for my appointment and we showed up to find all of the lights off and the doors locked. I called them twice and emailed, but no response. I was forced to return home. Mind you, I don't live in the area. I was driving almost an hour from the Rochester area and now an hour back. 3.5, but round up for service. We drove out here from Rochester because my mom's friend's daughter spoke highly of her experience (both with the dress process and the in-house seamstress). I really, really wanted to find my dress here, but unfortunately the right one was elsewhere. My mom and I were running super late (a half hour) because of work and Kasey was exceptionally understanding and accommodating. My friend was able to get there before us and showed her pictures of what I was looking for so they could pull dresses for me. By the time I finally arrived, there were four dresses waiting for me in a room and I was able to jump right in. I apologized up and down for my lateness, but Kasey assured me it was okay. I tried on those four dresses and I think three more. I needed help from Kasey with each dress, which was more than I needed at another shop, and three of them I was so tightly into that I couldn't move so my mom and friend had to come in to see. That part wasn't great, but there was a dress that when I stepped out in it, my mom and friend audibly gasped. It was the closest to the other dress I was considering (at another shop) and it was perfect for me, but it wasn't my perfect dress. We tried it with a veil, Kasey and my mom & friend poured on the compliments, and I really did love it. But I knew when I left that I wasn't going to get it and I was disappointed because of the price of the dress and how lovely my experience had been (I'd even been given a coupon for a free veil). Kasey texted me shortly after to follow up and I didn't have the heart to respond until the next day (when someone else texted me). I don't think they have a huge selection and I understand the feedback about sizing, but if you are able to get here, I think it will be worth checking out. read more

Horrible place to look for a wedding dress. This establishment preys on young brides and pressures them into buying a dress, then gives no leniency with a return policy (all sales final/no questions asked). Do they not know what business they are in? Are they not aware of how fickle and fleeting wedding dress tastes can be? Do they not know that any and every decision of a wedding is subject to change at any given moment, including the bride's dress? They do not care. All they want is their revenue and profit to line their own pockets, and they could not care less about making sure you absolutely love your wedding day attire. With the business they are in, there is no excuse for their return policy on dresses. It shows a lack of understanding and outright disrespect to their customers. read more

Even before I ended up finding my dress at The Wedding Dress Shop all of the employees were so kind and excited. They have an amazing selection of gowns to choose from. The dresses are so beautiful!!! Price range was right where we thought we would be and not overpriced liked some other shops I had been to. Definitely recommend! read more

I have only great things to say about the Wedding Dress. The individualized service with the feeling that they are there for you. I have been there for three different wedding occasions and they show the same great service and care to each bride. I was disappointed with my experience at The Wedding Dress. The selection is small compared to other boutiques, and their prices are on the high end ($800-1800 before alterations). Many of their in-store dresses for you to try are are NOT a larger size so anyone could fit/be clipped into it. I did not fit in many of the dresses, and that was very discouraging and frustrating, and the woman helping just gave up on those styles/dresses and moved on. Body positivity and options for all sizes is not a priority at this store. Multiple people came in and out of the changing station as I was trying dresses on- so that also made the experience an uncomfortable one. The woman helping me knew that her dresses were not in my price range, I did not fit in many of their "try-on" options, and therefore it felt like she was rushing me out the door. I was in and out in about 35 minutes. Overall I would not recommend this store. read more

This prom season I rented two tuxedos from this place for my son. I chose here because we like to support local business. The first one was great however we were not so lucky with the second. Because we retuned another tux within a month they offered free shoes with the second rental. The shoes were scuffed, the soles were missing large chunks out of the heals in both shoes and the lines inside the shoes were torn and hanging on the inside. The jacket was also dirty as well. When I returned the tux and spoke to them about the condition the woman told us well the shoes were free. This was my sons senior prom!! You only do this once. Because they gave a perk for being a repeat customer those shoes in their opinion were ok because they were not part of the bill. As for the dirty jacket the woman acted as if I was a liar. She claimed it was impossible her staff would not allow that but they did. I would have been more then happy with a partial refund but the owner never called me back. This place does not have good business practice. Do not rent from this store. I have three sons and this place will never get our business again. read more

My family is orig. from the Buffalo area and we decided to visit this little shop over this past holiday season to search for my wedding gown. I have found hospital waiting areas to be be more accommodating! That's not saying much clearly! The service was horrible, not very clean and the condition of the merchandise left little to be desired. The girls were very nice to me before I ordered my dress. Then my dress didn't fit me. By the time the alterations was done I traveled at least 6 times back and forth. I was about to put my dress in the dumpster. Nancy (owner) was not very nice the whole time I was coming in and out their store. The Wedding Dress was the first place I went wedding dress shopping and it was an amazing experience! We had made an appointment, but we came straight from the airport (I had flown in from DC) so we ended up being early and they were able to take us right away. Jessica looked through my entire binder of pictures with enthusiasm and let me go through the dresses to pull what I liked while she did the same. Each dress was clearly labeled with the designer and price, as well as a picture of the dress on a model, so there wasn't as much guesswork as to what it might look like. Jessica found styles not originally in my binder, but proved very flattering! She was respectful of my budget ($800-$1000) and I never felt pressured to make a decision or uncomfortable to voice my opinion. The dresses are gorgeous and I felt I had so many options to choose from! I haven't made a final decision on my dress yet, but I would definitely highly recommend The Wedding Dress! read more

The first time I went in the shop, I wanted to try to pick out dresses for my bridesmaids. I was given a very quick hello and left to browse by myself. Fine. Then another girl walked in to pick out a wedding dress and the sales girl was practically falling all over her. I was quickly forgotten about so I got pissed and left. After ordering a veil from etsy.com I decided I didn't like it so I reluctantly went back to the shop (after looking at David's Bridal - going back to the shop was definitely not my first choice). I was given the same unfriendly hello and put in a room by myself to try on veils. I received no help from the salesperson. I picked one out and ordered it. I was told it would be arriving two weeks later. A month and a half later I called inquiring about the veil. They said it would be in a month and a half from THAT date. Fine. I called on the day they said it would be in. Then they told me it was shipped on that day so it would be in two weeks after that. Ugh. Fine. One month later still no call. I go in and ask where my veil is. The woman sitting at the desk didn't even bother to get up when I walked in the door. She stared at her computer and said, "Can you handle it?" to another girl there. She takes my name and goes to check. She asks another girl for help. It's apparent my veil is nowhere to be found. Yet, they make me stand there and wait while I watch them call people asking where my veil is. After watching them for (literally 10 minutes) fumble around trying to explain my missing veil the girl says, "It's on back order. I called earlier but it should be in no later than next Friday. If you don't hear from us call back. " Ok. You called who earlier? Not me. It's on back order? Shouldn't I have been made aware of that? Now I have to wait even longer? I've been waiting over 4 months and my wedding is next month. AND I have to call YOU back AGAIN? These people are rude, clueless, disorganized and did I mention rude? read more
