A toliet seat you can't even sit on. This was my "Titanium Level" upgrade ‍
    Tommy P.

I've only stayed here twice. First time I was upgraded and they just cleaned the carpets in my room and they were still wet and the room smelled so bad it go into the bedding. This time they upgraded me and acted like it was a big deal to be on the 12th floor. I wake up to a toilet seat that's unusable. Won't be staying here again.

I like this place and overalls like my room. It's spacious, clean and comfortable. It's got a big tv and complimentary water. There are several restaurants and bars walking distance. The temperature in my room has been perfect and I haven't needed to make any adjustments. Lobby restrooms were very clean and the receptionists were very nice. I would stay here again.

Very nice hotel and the beds are super comfortable. My company put us up here for the night and I slept like a baby. The pool was super enjoyable in the evening complete with a fire pit next to it. Sure wish there was a hot tub. Complimentary champagne after 3pm when you check in. It's a half a flute but some is better than none. The bar downstairs is great for night life. There was a saxophone player that was amazing. I never got the food I ordered and, after 30 minutes of waiting for it, I canceled the order. Keep in mind, the food I ordered was bruschetta... you don't even have to cook it. Come morning, I WAS shocked to see that their breakfast buffet is $27 each for adults. The food was gross. I have had better breakfast at a much lower scale hotel. I would NEVER pay for that again and I feel like a fool for paying for it in the first place. Very limited options and they even serve little boxes of cereal... the eggs were runny and the bacon full of grease. I would stay here again if I am ever in the area but would steer clear of the breakfast.

Stayed here on a recent business trip which is right next door to our Woodlands Corporate Office so it was perfect, the hotel is very clean and has a great layout. There is a Starbucks in the lobby area, an Italian restaurant Sorriso and a bar on the 2nd floor with poolside service. The rooms and beds are very roomy and comfortable, I was on the 3rd floor overlooking the pool area and waterway, the front desk staff was very helpful, friendly and accommodating. The pool area is nice and clean and plenty of places to sit or lounge, this place is centrally located with lots of eateries and shopping within walking distance. There is a mall with large movie theater and also the Market Street which has more upscale shopping like Tiffany & Co., Brooks Brothers, Rolex, Tommy Bahamas, LuLulemon etc. lots of great food choices here also. Overall great stay and will definitely stay here again, highly recommend if you want something centrally located with access to everything.

Awesome pool area with shade, music and a bar inside the glass doors

Absolutely gorgeous stay. We loved it. The rooms were spacious and very clean, as were the facilities. The only thing, the door to the adjoined room (we didn't know them), let a lot of noise through it, so it was hard to fall asleep with cackling girls next door. I turned on the white noise machine, and it helped, but it was the same recorded nature sound on loop. Annoying (I know, I'm super picky), but if they changed it to the air kind, that'd be better.

Seldomly have I wished more than 5 stars were available while leaving a review and this is one of those times. The customer service made this location stand out above all the others. The rooms were impeccably clean. Chatting with the front desk was so efficient and prompt at answering. Through his kindness and dedication to Marriott, John Magee, made our hearts be full of joy through our entire stay. Thank you so much for having such special members of your team such as himself. The continental breakfast was out of this world! Attention to each detail of every item was definitely noted. Fresh bagels from New York! Truffle butter on the the avocado toast! Fresh eggs that aren't made from powder! The coffee! House made gravy! Smoked salmon! Fresh juice! Please make your entire team know how special their contributions to the Marriott are.

The hotel it's self was nice, location and room cleanliness were on par for Westin. Staff at check in was lovely, but beyond that it was a challenging to navigate our stay. There was no information in the room notifying us of the WiFi situation, room service, pool hours, hotel restaurant info, nothing. Even after looking on the website, it wasn't helpful. We ended up getting charged for wifi unknowingly. We had to leave and go eat at another restaurant out of the hotel because all the bartenders at the bar had their masks down or off and 50% of people staying at this hotel/walking around/bar area/pool area were NOT wearing masks. They were not enforcing any of the mask requirements so it was a very anxious stay. I wouldn't stay here again for these reasons.

Not what you want as a welcome gift... Things didn't get quiet until past 1am on a Thursday night. The provided earplugs didn't help.

I'll start with the positive: the hotel is beautiful, the staff is courteous. I loved being right on the Waterway. The room was comfortable and a pleasure to be in. The fitness center had enough equipment for all even in the early morning. I wished the blinds were motorized so that I don't have to look for the correct chain, but that's not a big problem. So, why such a low score? The noise. It's never a good sign to find a fresh pair of earplugs and a note about the "vibrant nightlife [...] just outside our doors". The first four were "highlighted" by the same four or five songs broadcast in the square until ~11 am. Annoying (I can still hear them) but whatever. The last night, though, the mood switched to a nightclub ambiance with bass so loud they cut through the provided earplugs. That lasted until 1:30 am. I had to get up early the next day. The note with the earplugs also said "We [...] hope you have a rejuvenating stay." I didn't.

Needing a place to stay to attend a wedding we opted for here. A corner room with a great view of area. The room was huge with a comfortable bed. The 1st night in a hotel is always hardest for me to get some sleep. I didn't have a problem here. Even with the noise below our room it remained quiet inside. However, in addition to the price of the room be prepared to pay additional $$$ for parking. In addition to all of the entertainment located on the streets below there is an Italian restaurant attached and a Starbucks in the lobby. Nice place to stay and we'll stay there again if the occasion presents itself.

Black picture that continuously happens no matter the room I'm assigned! Absolutely frustrating!!!

Ask the Community - The Westin

Is it safe to attend an event at this hotel during the Coronavirus crisis?

Is there a good place in this hotel for a business breakfast of 5 people? We need privacy or at the least a quiet location.

There is a pseudo quiet area off the lobby. However, if you ask they can likely accommodate you in a more private area off nearby small conference rooms.… Read more

My husband and I booked the 2 hour experience. It seems like a lot of time, but once you play, it feels like it's not enough! The rooms truly are best played with 2-4 players. There are some rooms where 2 people is nearly impossible to get a perfect score, and there are some rooms where people would just be standing around if you have more than 4 players. Your team will have a team leader who will wear a specific wristband that opens the rooms and allows you to view your score on a big screen in the hallways. If your team doesn't care about rankings and want to just play for fun, then you can go at your own pace or split up if possible, depending on the size of your team. For example, if you have a total of 6 people playing, you could be one team with 1 team captain. For scoring, it would be best to stick together. Or you can split into two teams and have two team captains. That way, your team could split up into teams of 2 and 4 or 3 and 3 depending on the game/room. If you do care about rankings, then stick with your team and try to solve as many rooms as possible and get the perfect score. The rooms are so different! It's a lot of fun. There is definitely something for every one and many rooms to solve. Within the 2 hours, my husband and I were not able to go through all the rooms. Man, after we were done, we wanted to play more! It was exhilarating because you are trying to get through as many rooms as you can and trying to get the best score. It's like we were on a game show. haha Some rooms are addicting to where you want to just play it over and over again, but if you care about your ranking, just move on! lol The rooms have a time limit, which helps you pace yourself and prevent people from hogging a room the entire time. It gives off a "minute-it to win-it" vibe. Running around and trying to find an available room is also fun in itself. It's like a labyrinth in there. There were some technical issues with some rooms. For example, there was a soccer room where one of the goals would not score at all, so that messed with our points. There was another room involving a subway where I seriously think several answers were not on the posters provided. However, it was still fun! The employees were all super nice! One of the employees even helped us play in one room because it was one of those rooms where it would have been impossible to get a good score with only 2 people. I would say this isn't exactly a "one and done" type place. If you play with different people, it will be a different experience. Certain rooms you can definitely memorize and just plug in the answers. However, there are other rooms that are sports and arcade style, so replaying it would still be fun. Furthermore, you may not finish all the rooms the first time and by the next time you come back, they may have added additional rooms/games. Also, since they track rankings, you could try to get a better score the next time you come. The price is sort of expensive, but I think it's worth it. I mean, it's not something I would do every weekend, but I can definitely see us coming back a few more times for special occasions. They do serve food inside the venue. They have a really cool little glass box outside of each room to put your drinks inside. Also, they have free lockers to put in your purse and other valuables if you wish. There are also several cool photo opportunities. This place is just amazing. You have to just come and experience it yourself! This place is perfect for birthday parties, family outings, date night, or just to try something new. I highly recommend this place!

Plus the location is close to the Cynthia Woods Pavilion so it allowed us to hear the Dave Matthews Band concert performance which took place on the 8th. Nothing like hearing the soulful sounds of the violins and horns from that band. The hotel has some nice amenities including a hot tub and pool located on the 2nd floor (both are outdoors). There's several lounge chairs where you can hang out while you get your tan on by the pool. There's also a hotel kitchen/bar area serving up nice cocktails and theres' the breakfast area which is complimentary for Globalist members which we took advantage of. There is a mural above the bed of some woman with a hat covering her eyes; it kind of freaked us out at first but we grew to appreciate the artistic touch. Parking is behind the hotel where you can do valet or self-parking. It's also within walking distance for all the shops/outlets so there's plenty to do staying here. Service is friendly and pool restaurant good. The country club is in walking distance if you want golf or tennis. There are several pools. For families, the pool is THE activity and truly, the only activity. The woodlands lake is a 5 min drive so the trolly and pedal boats entertained us! It was fun. The breakfast was delicious. What was a disappointment: - total of 1 lifeguard for the entire pool area, which included three pools and a lazy river with a wave area. There is "swim at your own risk" signage, but that is NOT a family friendly environment. - there is a 1x/ day arts and crafts that you have to pay extra to do. - the other staff-led activities were bingo, movie by the pool, and karaoke. The staff was not energetic, smiling, or enthusiastic with the exception of the activities manager who led the water melon eating contest. - it rained for one of the afternoons so we all went into the conference center for games. Wow was that disappointing. The staff was sitting around at a table, no music, no explanation of the table games, not interacting with the guests. When asked they said "you can play whichever game you want, it's self service." My husband and I used our phones to at least put on music, we facilitated a game of tag, and several families had to escalate to the manager to setup the karaoke and popcorn machine because the staff in the room was literally sitting around sticking to a rigid schedule and telling us they can't set anything up until a certain time. Of course the manager said that is absolutely not true. - the staff didn't know how to work the projector for karaoke so the kids just used a laptop that the staff member had sitting on her lap. Minimal interaction etc. The events team staff (minus the supervisor) was really subpar. Easily made for a 2 rating for sure. If you want a true family getaway, the JW Marriott in San Antonio is far superior. Photo with my son and one of the disengaged staff members. I'll also say that, again, for this luxury price, the staff need branded sweaters not oversized personal apparel.
