This was my second time here and completely disappointed yet again. It took 15 minutes to get service at our table. Then, finally when our waitress came to our table slamming down waters and was rude, she said she had too many tables. Then after dropping off waters it took her another 10 minutes to get our drink order. Then waiting another 10 minutes we got our drinks. They were pretty good but it taking so long ruined wanting to get a drink. Finally we ordered, we ordered the pretzel bites for an app. Then for dinner a pizza, chicken sandwich, crab cakes, and fish tacos. After waiting 20 minutes for the appetizer it was pretty good nothing amazing. Then they gave us our dinners and the DO NOT GET THE CRAB CAKES!! so bad, after finally getting the pizza 10 minutes after the other dinners it was pretty good. Overall worst service I've had in a while, and pizza was decent, but will not be back. read more

This Establishment is doing a Fantastic Job at destroying their name. They have a horrible reputation across Macomb, Oakland, and Wayne County. This place has been horribly mismanaged since opening the doors and the wait staff is not helping by any means. Their is no consistency with food or service, they can not seem to figure out how to execute a lunch, dinner or bar rush without crashing and burning. Trying to compensate for all that is terribly wrong with this place with a newly written craft cocktail list that consist of cocktails taken from the Menus of Successful Accredited Establishments; meaning they ripped off other people's recipes. Pizza cooks make a good pizza, but it might take an hour to get?! They have a couple of seasoned bar tenders, and a professional server or 2 that has it down, the rest belong at Coney Islands or Diners in Hazel Park. Regardless of the servers skillet and work ethic, they can only work with what they are given and well . . . I have dined here, I will never dine here ever again, and I will never recommend anyone dine here. If you just want to sit at a bar n grab a beer, maybe catch a game, Stephanie, Matt, or Mike will take great care of you, they are Great Bartenders. The interior is nice, as that space finished being renovated 1 year ago. Pretzel sticks don't take long and are great with beers. Pizza is good. Good burger. Careful what you order, it may take like an Hour for something really simple and basic. This restaurant is a great addition to the Grosse Pointe Village district. I was there for a quick dinner tonight. I sat in the bar area. Plenty of tv screens throughout the restaurant. The bar was hoping and the restaurant was almost full. I ordered the lamb sliders and they were outstanding. The service was very good. We also came here when the restaurant first opened. Their burgers are really good as well as the kale salad. Just recently they added outdoor seating. We will come here often. read more

I have seen this place for a while but haven't stopped in. My mother and I decided to give it a try and couldn't be any happier, the food was amazing. Our waitress, Jessica, was the most friendly and helpful server I've had. Between helping me find a creative drink and picking the best dessert, she was simply amazing. Bad service. I have no problem paying premium for drinks but they do need to be available for me to drink. When I went for the bar the bartender wouldn't serve me because I had a table.(with no drinks) I had to go sit back down and stop the waitress a third time. I came her for WHISKEY yet no one here can tell me anything about whiskey and their menu is just a list of names. (They can't tell you the price either.) Then they also had NO BEER here. The food looks good but I wouldn't know. It's been 45 minutes and I haven't ordered yet. I've asked twice. It's a shame because this place looks pretty ok. Not sure why there are bad reviews in regards to the service. Maybe we lucked out when we came thru. The service wasn't 5 star, but I was more than satisfied with our waiter.. especially considering we came in with a group of ten. I tried the Cajun salmon burger.. which was surprisingly lacking in spice. When I think Cajun, I imagine some sort of kick. There was zero Cajun in that burger, but it was nonetheless still a great buttery, moist slice of salmon. I am, however, in love with the extended beer list. You cannot go wrong with Ellison's Relativity double IPA! Super smoothe and with a hint of sweetness..extremely surprising coming from an IPA. read more

Do you enjoy tasteless chicken wings? Do you crave pasta with sauce and meatballs that are cold and the meatballs are like rocks? Went here for a Valentine's weekend (Saturday, Feb 16) date with boyfriend. Nice, cozy, woody and inviting atmosphere. I had the Impossible Burger with waffle fries and he had the salmon with veggies and rice. We both enjoyed our meal. It didn't blow us out of the water but we also didn't order signature dishes. It was good food and did the job. They did have a Valentine's special for two that included wine and cool selections. Nice draft beer selection that changes with the season it appears. I had a very strong 12%er that, in addition to my date, had me giggling and smiling. The hostess and our waiter were great, no issues there. We were able to watch some college hoops on the flat screens above the bar. A band was setting up just as we finished our meal (about 9pm) but we had other plans for the evening after dinner. The regulars (they called themselves "groupies," lol) were excited to get our booth to watch and listen to the entertainment and we were happy to accommodate them - having nice friendly banter with them as we left. The crowd was mature, casual and cool which we appreciated. We plan to go back, sit at the bar and kick back some drinks, appetizers (I really want to try their steak bites) and listen to the band one of these casual weekend evenings. read more

Only been there once. Brussels sprouts are good. Hot pretzels too (although the cheese sauce is thin - tastes fake). But The lamp sliders - terrible! So disappointing - especially since the waitress recommended them. You should NEVER serve pre-cooked patties without a hint of seasoning or salt. Couldn't even taste the tzatziki sauce. Should be cooked to order with generous sauce on pita (not mini brioche). The cheese stuff they put on the French fries is kinda mucky. Better on the side like they do so well as Red Crown. It doesn't take much effort to prepare good fresh clean food. Look at Selden Standard (comparably priced) No excuse for a lazy chef. Overall good food and nice atmosphere. Not a huge menu bust most of it is good. This places downfall is balsamic vinegar. If an item has it avoid it like the plague. But other than that the restaurant offers something unique and different and is worth checking out based solely on that. read more

Had the shrimp and grits. Only 6 small peel-and-eat sized shrimp for $17.50. The flavor was good but should have served at least 8 to 10 for the size used. Grits were a bit overpowered by a sharp cheddar flavor, and the consistency of thick oatmeal. This is my second visit. This is an updated review of The Whiskey Six. My first visit ended poorly, however after speaking with the general manager on the phone I agreed to come in to try it again. My second visit went much better. I sat at the bar, had lamb sliders and the carnivore pizza. They were both very good. I spent a lot of time talking with the bar manager Jeremy and other bartenders about whiskey that I liked, etc. They have some errors still on the liquor menu but they are in the process of fixing it. Some hiccups along the way for this new bar/restaurant but I think they are heading in the right direction. Give it a try! read more

Love it. I've been there for drinks with friends and it was great. I've had drinks there by myself and have had a great time. I've been there with my kids and enjoyed it. The bar staff is great. My only complaint is that one of the three times I was there with my children, the waitress seemed to be as indifferent as they come. Nice new option. Not sure what is local in their "farm to table" inspired menu probably nothing but the flat breads are wonderful. Live band on Thursdays? is really great, but be prepared for loud music. Bar seating is most comfortable, the back area is a little crowded and awkward. We went there for a drink and dinner last night. I ordered a Maurice Salad but someone needs the chef how to make a Maurice salad!! It arrived with an obscene amount of white lettuce (ya ya I know the original had only iceberg but this is 2018 and a few pieces of greens would have been nice). with only a few pieces of ham squares, one pickle and one egg and a very small amount of Swiss cheese. No turkey, no olives no relish. The dressing bore no resemblance to Maurice dressing. Please someone help this chef . Maurice salad should not be on the menu unless you know how to make it and the recepe is all over the internet, look it up. The price was high too for this unbelievable non-Maurice salad. Normally the food is good however my wife and I went with two friends on Tuesday. Our waiter was incredibly rude. He kept pushing for us to order, once we did he did not bring our food. Our w6 fries came out missing green onions and hardly any bacon. My brunch burger had no bacon. I ordered a beer at the start of dinner saw the bar tender place it on the bar. I had a few bites left of my dinner when I flagged another waiter to bring it. When the check came he didn't offer to split the check between all of us. He actually never came to pick up the bill with our credit card, thankfully we had enough cash on us to pay the bill so we didn't have to wait anymore. Overall poor experience. read more

As a Grosse Pointer, I really want to see this place succeed. However, we went on a Saturday afternoon. No one there. Limited menu. Pricey too. It took forever to get our waitress who didn't know the menu. Three of the day's specials were "gone." The food arrived sporadically - no dish served at the same time. Not very good either. Hamburgers cold. French fries $4.00!!! Then, it took forever to get our bill. Also, the coffee is awful. Undrinkable really. I will wait a year before I go back. read more

This place has potential, but I was pretty disappointed today. We decided to try it out for my husband's birthday dinner, however, it wasn't until after we already ordered our drinks and starter that we were told they were out of entrees. None of the entrees on the menu were available to eat today. I wish they would have told us that immediately before we were even seated because we were not looking to eat burgers and salad for my husband's birthday. My husband ordered a burger, I had a salad with chicken, but there were only about 3 bites of chicken on the salad. The food was just ok. The Brussels sprout starter was really good. The hostess and bus boy were nice, but our waitress was not very welcoming. It was also odd and distracting that at several points during our meal managers and waitstaff stopped right next to our table to have conversations amongst themselves. Went here a few nights ago and quoted a 2.5 hour wait at 7:30 on a Tuesday. Skipped it and went for Thai. Came back on Sunday at Noon. Limited menu and disappointing it was. Do not order the chips with cheese and salsa. The wings, mehhhhh. The ribs, just O.K. For being new you would think that the host staff would be more welcoming and offer up the fact that the menu is scaled back. The choices were very minimal. I might give them another shot, but you get better food at Red Crown. I was expecting more from a place that was talked about so much before its' opening. I hope they can make improvements. Food was amazing, but I'm only giving 3 stars because of the hostess. I came here on 8/4 at around 9pm. The hostess spent more time snapchatting on her phone and hanging out with her friend who was at the bar than doing her job. I saw a waitress seat a group because the hostess wasn't even at the front of the restaurant. And she was doing this for the whole hour that I was there. I ordered the portobello mushroom burger, when our food came out a plate with white wonder bread toasted with butter was placed in front of me, with plain and sad excuse of a mushroom in between. No sauce, lettuce, tomatoes, or cheese in sight....Definitely not what I ordered. I also ordered a side of redskin potatoes, which the waitress said were just boiled no butter.. Just ok... Food was mediocre at best...I had the burger. Not bad but very little flavor. Fries would have been better if they weren't so soggy. Not cheap either. I dont know if it was the owner or manager but she was SUPER awkward when she came up to our table. I think she was trying to ask how our food was and she just stared at us...weird.
