I was in the Lancaster area for work when I came across this burger stop. I have to say right off the bat I really have a love for places like this quaint, unique, chill atmosphere and quality are all aspects that chain restaurants don't have so whenever the opportunity to stop at small burger place is there I take it. The menu was the first thing that popped for me especially the presidential themed combos, I chose the Obama with a cheeseburger and chili fries though the fries weren't the greatest (kinda thin for my liking) they are still tasty with the chili and cheese toppings and the cheeseburger reminded me of the school cafeteria cheeseburgers, some may take this as an insult but I do not mean it like that in anyway the burger was amazing and the nostalgia taste only made the visit all the more worth in my opinion. Only con is it is located in Lancaster which is quite the drive, but now I have an option for when I head out there again. read more

By far one of the best burger places in the AV. The area might not be so nice, but White House has amazing prices as well as burgers. Fringles (Fries and Onion rings) the burgers are creative, yummy and they are very helpful. I highly recommend this place to anyone who lives in the AV! Drove past this place for years. Wasted a lot of time. The burgers are excellent. The SecState, VP and Prez are traditional burgers just different size, number of patties. The items named after Presidents are unique to their namesakes. The George W Bush and George Bush are western bacon (Poppi has two patties). The Clinton Dog is good too. For years, i'd just pass this place up. Frankly, i missed out on years of exceptionally good food. Just got a hamburger combo with fries and a soda for $4.50 + tax. The burger looks small, but the weight and portion filled me up along with the fries. Fries are small, like Mc D's but tastier in a non-corporate way. The Philly sandwich is good, lots of flavor in the meat with the grilled onions, combo for that's around 7 bucks. Not bad, happy with the food. Try it out at least once. read more

This little walk up burger joint is the BEST! I've been going here since I was a kid and it's just as awesome now as ever. The area is pretty shady so don't stick around too long and the hours are hit and miss. But the burgers and curly fries are super yummy. The shakes are good too. But my personal favorite is the hand dipped chocolate dipped ice-cream cones. Definitely a must! read more

The Obama combo is advertised for $7.99 in the pictures on yelp but when you get there it's $9.79. We paid $27 for lunch and would not give us a refill on soda. The combo comes with a small drink no refill. read more

Went to White House yesterday and ordered a double cheesburger w/pastrami and fries. The burger was generous, but I think they only put one slice of cheese on the burger because the two hamburger patties were together w/o cheese in between them. Also their menu is not detailed enough and needs to contain exactly what's in the Obama burger, etc. So when you're ordering, you have to ask exactly what you're getting in their name-dropping menu. I asked the guy, how are your fries done? He said, "Nothing special." Hmm. I said are they large, fat, small, wedges? He didn't answer. Since I had read a review that they were like McDonald's, I asked him directly, and he said yes. I hate fat fries w/nothing special tasting. Anyways, ordered the fries. The fries were good. Also, can't really see the menu through the window because there's so many other flyers and advertisements on the window, you cannot get a good one-look view at their indoors wall menu. Had to go to the front, around the sides of the building to get a good look at their menu. And, again, doesn't detail what exactly you're getting. You have to ask. Regarding the taste of my burger? It was fat and full of everything, I just don't think the ingredients were placed strategically so you can get a good tase of everything - it all melded together. We haven't been here in quite awhile but I compare them to in n out. Nice yummy salty fries and the white house burger is fantatic...just make sure to ask for extra sauce. I didn't used to have to but today my burger was a bit dry but they did have a very young man cooking so he still did great. My son and I both had milk shakes. They weren't great but just okay. But honestly you go there for the great burgers. And the gentleman that I'm assuming owns the place is always smiling and friendly. We'll definitely be back. read more

Slightly expensive for what it is and serve, it's different and I love their onion rings.

My family came here and these are our orders: My husband got a hot roast beef, I got a Reuben and a strawberry shake, and my mom got a George Bush burger and a strawberry shake. My husband said his sandwich tasted like cardboard. My Reuben was actually great, but we never got our strawberry shakes, because they were out. That was very, very disappointing. My mom liked her burger, but too much BBQ sauce. I might try it a second time and improve my review if they are not out of everything and we find more tasty menu items. read more

We live about 2 hours from Lancaster, but have to travel there often for doctor visits. We found this place while cruising around town, in between doctor appointments. Bad part of town, yeah definitely, but it was the ENTICING aromas that pulled us in! On our first visit, we had the Pastrami Burger. It was delicious! The staff is really friendly, and they get your food out really quick. On our second trip, we ordered the # 3 special: Double Cheese Burger w/everything, Fries and a Drink, for under $6! The burgers are comparable to "In -N- Out, the fries are more like MacDonald's. The menu is REALLY varied, but the prices are EXTREMELY reasonable. We are definitely going back on our next trip to Lancaster! I have to say, subsequent visits were not so positive. They still have good prices, but the quality/taste has declined. Been living in the AV since 2010 but recently moved to Lancaster about a year and a half ago. I always passed by White house (live 5 mins away from it) and always wanted to try it. It was not until two days ago that i went with my mother. She got the hamburger combo and i got the crispy chicken sandwich combo. My mother loooved her burger. My chicken sandwich was pretty good also, I didnt expect it to come with two patties. It filled me up. Didnt get to finish it though. The fries though!!!! We got the regular fries and boy were they amaaaaazing. That day we stopped by twice. The second time we got ice cream and it was pretty good too. The prices were pretty good. Going to take my boyfriend there this upcoming weekend. read more
