We hadn't been in here for years. The French fries are still good - hot and well salted. We ordered two combo meals - a Philly cheese steak and a patty melt. They both came with the sandwich a good portion of fries, 3 onion rings and a medium soda. The patty melt had a very thin piece of meat. The Philly cheese steak had plenty of meat but the bun they used just fell apart. It couldn't hold the meat. The onions and mushrooms were very over cooked yet the green bell peppers still had crunch. The cheese steak combo was $17.49 which I thought too much for fast food. For $35 I received two ordered of chili cheese fries, two drinks, and 1 shake. After paying I asked if I could get one side of ranch. To that I was told they charge $1.20 for sauces. Great Food but prices have gone up. The portions are still large. Love the food. Always seems to be some tweeker lurking about. Some of the clientele are definitely on drugs. I would not recommend this place for anyone who has kids. Although I do occasionally see families with unruly children there. There was a guy half passed out in a booth, just drooling in his food. I am genuinely surprised, I haven't been to doublz in over 15 years! It's nice to know that they are still just as good as they were all those years ago. I ordered a steak sandwich combo. Came out within less than 5 minutes. Food was very delicious, fries were good and crispy as I remembered. I appreciate how there was a cleaning lady who kept the place tidy. As soon as people left their table, she got up and cleaned after them right away. Very nice attention to detail. My only complaint is how expensive it was. Sure they give you double the food (hence the name) but it was double the price! In total, i paid $25 dollars!! The ranch dipping sauce was $1.25! I blame today's economy. I want to preface my review by saying, I literally spent $25 on a SMALL chili cheese fries with pastrami on top. At first I was told it would be $18 for my order but when I got my small container of fries, it was literally fries with barely any chili or cheese. I asked for more and was told that they only use one scoop of chili and a sprinkle of cheese! For $18!!!! I was then charged $6.79 more for extra cheese and chili that at least covered the fries. I drove through here this weekend. I ordered 4 burgers and 4 large fries. The large fries are huge. I could've done 4 smalls. I wish one of the employees would have made a comment about the size of their fries. My total was over $60. The burgers were inconsistent. I asked for one with no tomatoes but 2 had no tomatoes. Our favorite place whenever we come out here to Lancaster to visit folks. I dont care what anyones opinions are of Doublz. I love their food and food on the trucks as well. Menu choices are great. I always get the Double Cheeseburger with fries. Most times i add the bacon on it. My girl ordered the BLT sandwich. Which is another favorite i get. So we were here recently and was happy.
