This is one of the best restaurants for a nice sit down meal in downtown Wolfeboro. We came by for lunch, and then again for dinner. The Wicked Tuna Wontons were the best bite at lunch, and we enjoyed them enough to come back later in our trip for dinner and really enjoyed the Seared Scallops. Lunch visit: Our party ordered several plates to share, and the wontons were my favorite. The tuna, sauces, and portions of ingredient were next to perfect. We also tried the clam chowder and the crab Rangoon dip and those were good too. Service was good! Dinner visit: Sat inside in the more modernized dining room. The vibe here is really nice! The service was atrocious. Was seated at a corner table on the outside deck. Was ignored for 15 minutes until a waiter finally came over and apologized for "forgetting about me". Then another five minutes transpired before a waitress finally came out to take my order. Ordered a sushi roll and Caesar salad. Took another 15 minutes for the sushi roll to arrive and then another 20 minutes for the Caesar salad. Won't come back here again. read more

Nice ambiance, even better if you can get a table outside. Great people watching. Service was ok as was the food. The shrimp cocktail had the shells still on them, so you had to do the work to pull them off. The fried chicken sandwich lacked flavor, but the fries were decent and the draft beers were cold and fresh. I'd give them another try, maybe sitting at the bar next time and trying their appetizers. Great food. Lobster roll was tender and flavorful. Crab cakes outstanding. Clam Chiwder light and delicious. Service was good and attentive.

Ambiance is beautiful. The view of the lake is so lovely and inside is nice. Service was prompt to begin with, our waitress took a long to get to us to get started. We only stayed for appetizers. The Dragon Fire was amazing. The menu is small and they were out of ribeye which was a few of their items, so we decided to find another steak house. read more

Checked in around 1:30 on an October Saturday, party of 4 adults 1 kid, asked for outside table, Rez texted we'd wait "5 to 15 minutes" - waited 50 minutes - they were short-staffed, apparently. Took another 40 minutes at table for food. I specified I wanted the Wicked Burger ($23) fully cooked, it came at most medium rare (I suppose cook was rushed). Never eat hamburger medium rare, but I'm not dead yet, so I guess it was OK. Pretty measly 'side Caesar salad' for $8. $150 for 4 adults and a kid before tax and tip. Not a great value. Maybe this is different in the summer but in February, well, it's a great place to go if you want to be ignored. We were told to sit ourselves, which we did and were promptly ignored for 15 minutes. Tried in vain 3 times to engage with a waitress...to no avail. They clearly were open as evidenced by the fact that others were seated and were brought menus. We used to really enjoy it here, but the place has really gone downhill. Used to have a really good smash burger , but it's now just a plain old burger that is way overpriced and really just average. Last time we were there our food came out wrong, and the bartender went in to get it fixed and came out and apologized and said that the chef didn't understand English and she couldn't get it fixed and hoped we were ok with it the way it was. Came here with a group of 9 people to celebrate our friend's 20th birthday. From the start, our server, Izzy, was incredibly unwelcoming. She was annoyed when we asked questions about the menu and didn't ask us how we'd like our burgers cooked. When the food came, our filet was completely overcooked as well as the burgers being dry. She never came by to ask us how our food tasted or check in. She also laughed to herself when our friend added a side salad to her order after our original orders were placed. Her tone and overall service was well below the standard any restaurant should expect. On top of it all, because we're a party over than 7, a 20% gratuity was automatically added. Gratuity should be earned not expected, regardless of party size. We will not be going back. read more

I do believe a bunch of snooty folks from the city come up here and expect a 5 star NY experience. This is a great new edition to Wolfeboro with waterfront deck dining, and a great place to have cocktails and watch boats pull into town docks. This place deserves a better star rating for sure. We come up here a few times a year as we live in FL and have a cabin up here. Last year, this place wasn't open yet and this year it was. We came here 3 times on our two weeks because you can't beat the scenery, the food was great and Nadine was the best server!!! She was so great!! Made us feel at home and always welcome! The chicken sandwich, the Wicked burger, the steak tips and the haddock were great!!! Our last night here they had pork belly bao buns....fantastic! A pretty nice place right off of the docks and next to the lake. Basically, the first place you come to if tying up at the docks. It's a nice place and the service was good. While the food was good, portions are small and everything is pretty much over priced. Best to walk on past, there are better spots in Wolfeboro that are short walk away. read more

Was in town for just a few days and stumbled upon The Wicked Loon. What a wonderful find. Hostess and all staff extremely friendly and efficient and a very cute atmosphere. Started with their Old Fashion - delicious and warmed me right up. The Dragonfire shrimp - do not skip under any circumstances. Delicious! Had a great salad with berries and chicken with potatoes and brussel sprouts in a delicious sauce. They even hooked up some grilled chicken for me to bring home to my dogs! Highly recommend and will seek them out again when I'm back in town. read more

This was one for the ages. Seated outside on pollen covered tables. Fine. It's the first weekend. No one came over to us for at least 20 minutes. Finally a waitress asked for our drink order. Never got silverware until we asked. No napkins until we asked. I asked to order at the same time since we waited so long. At least 40 minutes later one sandwich and one macaroni and cheese for 1 child came out. That works great when you have 3 hungry children with you. The Mac and cheese was subsequently found to have a hair in it At least 15 minutes later 1 burger (of 3) the other Mac and cheese and French fries. We're still waiting for a chicken sandwich for my pregnant daughter and a burger for the other. Time keeps going on 15, 20. I asked multiple staff members to check. Finally our waitress walks by I flag her down and ask for the two meals. Finally the chicken sandwich comes out a good 15 minutes later, still no burger. She comes back and says I hear there's an issue with your meals. Umm yes I directly told her this 20 minutes ago. Still no burger. We're all done eating. A round of Drinks had been ordered and never came. I mention the hair. She says she'll try and get that taken off the bill. Seriously? Forced to speak to the manager in an attempt to get the burger. He comes out after about 10 minutes. Totally out of his depth. Asks if we still want the burger. That's a no. We've been here close to 2 hours. We didn't even order entrees or appetizers. Just burgers and chicken sandwiches and kids meals. The table next to us that came in later was long gone. Manager said I don't know what to do to make this right. He says this multiple times. I had to tell him you comp this meal entirely since one party never ate after prompting multiple staff members. It was a busy night there but all in all the service was really good. My wife and I shared a salad. At our age we couldn't finish it because we forgot to order the "side" salad. The seared tuna appetizer was great. My wife and granddaughter shared the salmon which they enjoyed. My grandson and I shared the fish and chips. He said, "Either this is the best fish and chips I've ever had or I was starving!" Their take on an old fashioned with Woodford was great and had a dark cherry like it should. Gave the place a try. Good location right on the water. We tried 3 types of wings and it's the same almost burnt wing which they reheat for you and then throw a different sauce on it. Not terrible but not great. Ordered steak frites, lobster rolls, and burger. Everyone had cold fries and the bun on the lobster roll was slightly burnt. Had a lot of hope.. shouldn't have! First of all, we all ordered salads. My friend's house salad came with grilled salmon on top (which mind you was an extra $12) the salmon was fully raw in the middle. We sent it back, took another 20 minutes a new piece to arrive. THAT SECOND ONE WAS RAW TOO. My clam chowder was discolored and tasted like it has been soaking in tap water. My ceasar salad was tasteless and the chicken on top was burnt to a crisp! Oh and my croutons were stale like they had been sitting in that god forsaken kitchen for months. We went there today but didn't stay. We walked in & were told to sit where ever we liked so we went out onto the deck. The water front tables were all taken except for one & there was a payment still on that table so I asked if anyone was sitting there. I was told he just left & the waitress took her payment.. we were told they would wipe the table down.. ok.. so I sat. The woman with the cleaning cloth came over ( she REEKED of cheap perfume.. it made me gag) And right away she got a nasty attitude. "Can we wipe the table" she said.. all snotty . So I told her go ahead. I wasn't too close & I was not leaning in anyway on the table. So she wipes the table & made sure she swiped the cloth off towards me. Seriously? WTF is wrong with some ppl. She then stomps off. I wanted to ask her if she developed that huge stick up her @ss on her own or if she had it surgically implanted. That is no way to treat another person & there was no need of it (post note) I found the woman's picture that did this to me on fb & I wrote under it explaining what she has done. We enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, had great view of the lake and cheerful, helpful service. We started off with the dragon fire shrimp which were out of this world. I had the smash burger with a Tuckermans ale. The others had the grilled salad and the Cobb salad, everything was fresh, generous portions. We don't generally order desert but decided to try the cheesecake which was large enough for the whole table to enjoy. read more

Wanted to love this place but it was actually the opposite. We're not picky people at all and everything we got was not good. Our dragon fire shrimp was COLD and tasted overwhelmingly like mayonnaise, the chicken wings we got were very pink/ undercooked and also cold. We got the house made pumpkin bread which was burnt. Very sad! I got a mojito and there was only two mint leaves and it just tasted like rum and soda water. My boyfriend got two draft beers and both were flat. I wish i had better things to say but very disappointing :( read more

Went for dinner tonight, 4 adults, 2 children. We asked what the soup of the day was and the waitress said Garlic something soup. What?? We got the Chowder and it was not white, it was pale green. It seemed like last night's Pea Soup with clams added to it. The fries were ice cold. The waitress Caysie never removed the 6 menus from the table, and she barely came to check on us. Other people brought our meals and were helpful and the food was decent. When we tried to order our hamburgers medium rare she said we couldn't because they were smash burgers, which they weren't. ‍ There were 6 men drinking at the bar (which I'm not opposed to) but when they started loudly saying things like "I would eat my own shit" and Mother F&@$er 3 times in a row, we complained because we were seated right next to the bar with an infant and a 3 year old, they said they would ask them to leave. They didn't. We called on the way home, and the manager was understanding and did say he would make it right. He will call us tomorrow. It's worse because we're locals. read more
