A nice place to stop on Main Street, with outdoor seating as well as very spacious indoor seating. We happened to wander in at a good time and were able to get a table for 7. Decent selection of local and other beers, and the service was efficient and helpful. Lots of votes for the calamari and the coconut shrimp. The lobster roll was pricey (as they are everywhere on the island), but it was well received. Fish and chips were a little greasy, but tasty. The lobster quesadilla was more like stacked tostadas but the crema and the filling were excellent. Small-ish bar if you want to sit and have a drink.

After walking into the Squire after a shop owner told us it was "cute" in there, we quickly left and came to this beautiful restaurant for lunch. The Squire was a total dump. Moving on, we sat at the bar here and the bartender was very nice. Amazing Bloody Mary. Excellent chicken sandwich. Came on toasted cranberry bread with Brie and arugula and cranberry mayo. Delicious. Excellent fries with Cajun seasoning. Just the right amount of crisp. Very nice place. Boyfriend got the fish tacos. He was happy with the amount of fish in his and loved the fries as well.

We are currently staying at the Inn attached to the restaurant. We arrived on time and we're greeted promptly and seated by the lovely hostess. Our waiter came over quickly and took our drink order. Juan Carlos was a very attentive and kind waiter. My husband got the fried clams and I got baked cod. Both were fantastic! My cod was cooked perfectly and the veggies on the side were well seasoned and delicious. We both got a cocktail (or two!) and the drinks were strong and tasty. One of the best French 75's I've ever had. The decor was old cape cod style, and the vibe was laid back and not too touristy. Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful. The restaurant was clean and well maintained. We will definitely be back.

Service was 5/5 Ambiance was 4/5 Food was a mixed bag Drinks were 5/5 Service was quick. Our waiter was friendly and professional. We had a larger party (9 people) which can be difficult to manage! We were seated instead in what seemed to be a large hallway/room that connected a larger banquet-type area and the bar/main restaurant. Drinks were stellar! Food as mention was mixed... the lobster bisque was the best we've ever had, and the lobster BLT was delicious! The calamari was cold, and the short rib was chunks of beef (we expected more of a pulled pork texture). We would return, likely for apps and drinks instead.

The food here was great, and atmosphere was special as well for a fun night in the cape. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful and everything was delicious. Would come back!

Lobster roll

The service was really nice but our food took a long time to come out and the restaurant was not that busy. The restaurant itself is very nice and in a great area. For a $47 lobster roll i expected more, the flavor was fine but needed something. I was disappointed that the sides came in plastic and not a dish. I also had the clam chowder and it was just ok. just too expensive for what it's worth

This was our 2nd visit in 2 weeks. We have been to Pates several times in the past…read more The menu shared many items with what had been on the Ocean House menu before Anthony Silvestri left to join Pates. Pates has a nice ambiance- dining is in 3 rooms plus there is a separate bar area. The food is consistently good and well prepared. My scallops were amazing. And the fish and chips is also quite good. Service is also consistently good. In short a well run operation.

Mixed bag. We were…read moreseated in the back room with the bar as the main dining room was closed. I found the room too brightly lit, tables spaced very close, and the decor cold (IMHO). The wedge salad and Thai chicken dumplings were a great start. And the pan seared salmon and pan seared swordfish were also very tasty with interesting sides. But, the baked stuffed shrimp was only okay, as the orange-citrus sweet sauce was overpowering and off-putting and the forbidden rice was inedible. My friend's pork chop was way overcooked and dry. The service was a big detractor. Our waitress barely engaged with our table of four. She arrived with our main course and noticed all the appetizer plates hadn't been cleared and set our hot dinners on a tray stand while she removed empty plates. Awkward! She never checked on our dinners, and when we were almost finished, she returned to ask if we wanted more wine or another cocktail. Too late! It's unfortunate as some of the food was really good, but at $100/person (with tip), I'd expect better.
