Put this place on your list if you're in town. Food is excellent and the scenery even better. One of my favorite places in Chatham

We sit at the bar and after 5 minutes or so, we place our drink order. So far so good. We then place our app order. Stuffed quahog and the Portugese Littlenecks. Nothing too ground breaking here. Littlenecks cook in about 6 minutes and I am sure the quahog is ready to be popped in the oven on the prep line. 45 minutes later, no apps. Bartender is back in the kitchen 3 times. Still no apps. We get to talking to a local resident next to us who ordered a salad with salmon, and she says that this was her second try at the restaurant as well and no realizes why she never came back. Her salad took about an hour. For a salad... Ok, so now we place dinner. Well we should have just paid at that point and gone to the Squire for a burger cause now we wait another hour for our dinners. Which when they come out are ice cold. Mind you we had baked cod and a pasta dish. Neither of those should take more than 20 minutes to prep. We have now been in this place over 2 hours and didn't get to eat a dinner. What a huge disappointment. Sad thing is this place can get away with bad service because they are attached to an inn in downtown. So people will never stop eating there. But hopefully with a few more bad reviews, they will figure something out or close.

This restaurant is a Chatham staple! I always stop in for lunch when I'm walking down Main Street…read more It has that quintessential Cape Cod feel, warm, welcoming, and filled with sailing memorabilia and nautical decor. I also love that there's both a full dining room and a separate bar area, so whether you're grabbing a quick lunch or sitting down with family, it fits the occasion. It's a popular spot, and you'll usually see plenty of families and larger groups enjoying a meal. The menu is full of fresh seafood and New England favorites. The clam chowder is a great way to start, and I always order the hot lobster roll. Great food, friendly service, and a comfortable atmosphere.

We started on the bar side, which was extremely busy and we couldn't find a seat for about 30 minutes. The only downside is that seating is first come, first serve, so you end up hovering around tables waiting for people to leave, which wasn't ideal. We eventually got frustrated and went next door. Even though they're separate, the bar and restaurant are connected, so you can easily walk between the two. We ended up having an amazing meal at the restaurant side, so it was definitely worth switching over. I highly recommend the lobster roll. I'm giving 4 stars mainly because of the experience on the bar side.

But I have to admit that every time I've looked at the menu for their fine dining restaurant, Stars, I was never impressed so we've only eaten there when we hosted Liz's big birthday bash in 2022. That food was great but we just never tried Stars even after that. This week we are staying at one of the Spa Suites at CBI and last night we dined at Stars. The crab cake starter was the best crab cake either of us has ever had and we've done Baltimore many times. There was no filler, beautifully done fresh crab. Outstanding. I ordered the New York strip which was served with pommes purée and a medley of fresh CBI grown vegetables. That steak was better than any I've had at Moo, Grill 23 or Abe and Louis by a lot. Tender, flavorful and perfectly seasoned. Amazing. Liz had the scallops which she also loved, the one I tasted was perfectly seared and sweet. The Mexican Hot Chocolate cake was spectacular and the ice cream was amazing. The best meal I've had all year by far. The wine list is extensive but be careful there were several bottles costing more than $5000. We had a nice bottle of Barolo for around $150. All in on this place.

The cappuccino was great and I had the avocado "croast" to eat, which is essentially avocado toast on a croissant. It was super unique and delicious! The scrambled egg on top was essentially an omelette with boursin cheese in the middle. I loved the croissant and the mix of flavors and textures was great! I felt like the eggs could use a little more seasoning and I would have like a few more of the crispy shallots on the top. But it was a great dish and I would get it again! I look forward to coming back here and trying dinner next time we are on the Cape!
