The wild olive has always been one of my favorite restaurants, but the last time I went, it just seemed like the menu was a lot smaller and maybe some enthusiasm has been lost. It's still a good restaurant probably the best one in town no doubt about it. They do make an excellent dinner. I love taking my wife there and will always go back there because really there's not any place kind of above a pair of shorts and a T-shirt in Crestview, but thank y'all for what you doing and like I said just seemed to kind of have missed a little bit of a zip but it's still very good. I don't know why I went back to this place. I guess I wanted to give them another chance. Not friendly, tons of empty tables in the main room and we got sat on the back of the plain back room that looks like a hospital or military cafeteria. I should have left then, but no we ordered. Everything takes forever, my shrimp was uncooked. Shrimp it is not supposed to be translucent! For the hefty price of the ribeye it was awful thin, Then comes the bill - Impact Fee? Are you serious? Not a sign at front that says we charge an impact fee. Do yourselves a favor check your bill. $85 later for 2 no alcohol I felt robbed. While visiting our daughter in Crestview she chose to eat here for her birthday! The restaurant is cute and cozy nothing fancy. We were greeted warmly upon arrival. Service was pretty quick as we were the first ones there right at opening. Our salads were so fresh and delish with homemade dressing! For our meals as a starter my daughter got the loaded potato soup. Delicious! My husband ordered the mahi-mahi with spinach.. Also delicious! I ordered the pan seared salmon. It was very tasty but I wasn't a fan of the sweet potato purée. It was very good, but the amount was a little too much for me as it got all mixed in with my green beans. My daughter ordered the ribeye steak, medium rare, and it was cooked and seasoned to perfection! Menu was a little limited, and it would have been nice to have more choices of sides like broccoli or asparagus! Overall, it was a good experience and I would recommend this restaurant for at least a try. It is a little pricey though! read more

Very cozy ambiance like youre at moms house. They have room for small or large group. Great for a date or get together. Patio seating also available. What a gem of a restaurant! We happened upon this cozy and charming place and will put it on our map for many more visits in our Panhandle travels. I had the strawberry-walnut salad with roasted chicken. It had goat cheese and a balsamic vinaigrette. The chicken was so juicy! My husband had the blackened redfish sandwich with sweet potato fries that were so crunchy I had to help myself to half of them. We cleaned his plate. I had enough salad for two and had to save room for the fabulous carrot cake so a to go box was requested. Tea and coffee were brewed and sweetened to perfection and our server was precious. I will remember this place forever and know when I get to heaven there will be a restaurant there called The Wild Olive to remind us of this spot and how God grafted us into His perfect plan, despite our meanderings. We had our dog with us, so we were looking for somewhere that we could eat that was also covered, since it was threatening to rain. The Wild Olive has a really nice covered, screened in porch for that! First we got the coldest sweet tea, with the "good ice", then appetizers of Fried green tomatoes. OMG! They were probably the best I've ever eaten. They were battered with corn meal and served with a tangy sauce. I thought, there's no topping this, but then I got the spaghetti with marinara and added a Parmesan chicken breast on top. It was fantastic! You can get spicy meatballs, but since it said "hot" I passed on them. Husband got the pecan crusted pork loin and it came with two HUGE pieces and steamed green beans and "real" mashed potatoes. So unique and flavorful! You got a pork-chop vibe but with a slightly sweet, pecan taste. Never had anything like it but LOVED the flavor! Two people could have eaten off of that one plate! We got a kids meal chicken tenders for the dog (yeah she gets people food occasionally) and it was a whole chicken breast, cut up in slices, then battered with a light batter. Heck, that would have satisfied me! Lots of crispy fries for the kids meal too! Our waitress, Yancy, could not have been nicer. She came back multiple times to check on us, so we didn't feel at all like we were forgotten, since we were out on the patio. She treated our dog like a long lost friend, too. Met a friend here for a nice dinner on a weeknight. Plenty of parking available and was seated in less than 5 min. We were greeted at the table immediatly for our drinks. My friend ordered a salad, I ordered the salmon dinner with a caeser salad. Both were done to perfection. You could definitely taste a salt on the salmon. I had my first Wild Olive experience last night, and I can't wait to go again! The restaurant is a cute and classy contrast to the usual Crestview vibe. I want to give Avery, our server, a shout out. I have a gluten and dairy allergy, so finding restaurants that can accommodate those dietary restrictions is difficult. I walked into the Olive thinking I would only be able to order a salad, but I actually had a wonderful salmon in a coconut sauce and a double side of green beans (I don't like GBs usually) which I loved. Gluten Free is marked on the Wild Olive menu (which is so helpful) and I let Avery know about my allergies. While usually servers are annoyed, Avery actually took me seriously and showed concern by talking to the kitchen about what was safe for me to eat. After I ordered, he talked to the kitchen again and let me know that the usual side has butter in it and the safest option for me would be double green beans. Usually when I order at a restaurant, even if they are trying to be accommodating to my allergies, I still have anxiety about eating because... what if someone forgot something along the way or gave me someone else's order? It happens more than you would think. Not this time though! I felt completely confident in my meal because Avery had been thorough enough to talk me through the salad/ entree/ side and check that they were all safe. My husband also loved the pasta he ordered and the cheesecake he brought home. We left very happy! The Wild Olive will definitely be a staple crestview eatery for me from now on. read more

This place is a 10/10. I would suggest making a reservation as this place gets pretty packed for dinner! It's so cozy inside. I literally have nothing bad to say about the food. We enjoyed our experience at the Wild Olive, but the service was unreasonably slow. We were always looking for our server and trying to make eye contact with any staff to get refills on our drink and to check on our meal. It was disappointing that they do not serve wine since it is the nicest restaurant in Crestview. We went for Valentines Day and enjoyed our time together despite the slow service. We probably won't be back, but I think anyone should give it a try if you want a nice dinner. I think you can bring your own wine. I had the salmon and my husband had the filet mignon. They were both perfectly cooked, but the sides were not very hot. Overall, I think the experience was 3/5 because the food made up for the bad service. Note- the olive oil dip for the bread needs a little more salt for my taste. It was just a little bland, but the bread was amazing. read more

Wife and I went there for our 45th wedding anniversary. Had never been, but it was an amazing experience . Some of the best foods we have ever had, wife had shrimp and grits and I had pan seared salmon, both cooked to perfection. service was excellent also.
