Well, it's about time that I send some love to the hub. I don't wanna call it a barbecue place because it's not it has all kinds of food but they do have the best brisket in town. Matthews is pretty good too, but I will tell you that the hub is really worth a visit. They have a fantastic salad bar. Their brisket is better than anyone in town there's something for everybody on the menu it's clean service is very efficient and this is one restaurant that you will never get something. That's not extremely fresh out of the oven. Great small-town restaurant. My husband was pleased with the all-you can eat salad bar (think Ruby Tuesdays). I had the daily special for Sunday - turkey & dressing with gravy plus two sides. The turkey was smoked and very moist. The stuffing was good, but a little salty. My fries on the side were just right - crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. If you aren't offended by the overt fanaticism for Trump, maybe you could dine here. We were instructed to select any table we wanted, and as we walk towards the back of the restaurant, we could see the nice wall panels depicting history on the walls. There was a pic of defiant Trump at the first assassination attempt on one wall above a doorway. The television was trained on Fox News, which was not a surprise. The wall at the foremost end of the restaurant depicted every president in history with a classic photo and the years of service. I was surprised to see a nice photograph of Obama because I certainly did not expect that given the tenor of this restaurant. A week before the national election, including a caricature of someone, but didn't look anything at all like President Biden. And they already had the next picture of Trump in his mug shot pose listed as the next president. We even overheard other diners talking about how Trump was being honored recently. It seems that is part and parcel of the crowd dining here, and I shouldn't expect anything less from the area of the Florida panhandle we visited. So depending on your stomach for politics that are slanted in one direction, think carefully before you choose this as your dining destination. Had we known that this was such a slanted restaurant, we should've dined somewhere else. We do like to try local restaurants and try to stay away from chains, so we made our choice and decided to stick it out. We split the three barbecue meat combination platter and selected pulled pork, sausage and ribs. We chose baked beans and coleslaw for our two side items. The baked beans were very meaty and included, pulled pork in the baked side item. The food was delicious and we ended up taking home a portion of each for a lunch the next day. The service was fine. We were promptly greeted, our server took and brought our drink order in swift fashion, and our food was served within 10 minutes. And we received the to go box we requested promptly. I'm just sorry that this restaurant had to interject this type of political diatribe into otherwise good food. read more

Immediately greeted on entry and we could seat ourselves. Servers were very nice and allowed us to get breakfast even though we were about three minutes before the end of breakfast. Inside is very clean and patrons inside were talking quietly amongst themselves. TVs were on but on mute, one was on Fox News the other on CMT. There was soft country music in the background. Food came out hot and to order. My only dig is they don't have a real butter for the table but whipped topping. The reviews that focus on a "trump shrine" there is no actual shrine, they need to stop being dramatic. There is simply America through history and pictures of all the previous sitting presidents. If this offends you don't go. A negative review of this restaurant is a negative review of America and you can just move to Canada. One thing of note they serve Coke AND Pepsi. I found this both diverse and inclusive! We will be back whenever we find ourselves in Crestview! read more

Still very poorly run. Finally got rid of the high school cafeteria food at least. But now they have an interesting service schedule. Breakfast open until 10:30. Lunch starts at 11. We arrive at 11:10 and are told they are still serving breakfast. No big. We'll eat breakfast you say? NOPE! They aren't serving breakfast anymore. So what are we supposed to do? Not eat obviously. Isn't that the point of a restaurant? Feed your customers? It's always some nonsense every time we come here. Every time. Never again. We're done. read more

Restaurant with a small town feel. Staff were very friendly and the restaurant was very clean. Ordered a blackened white fish (swai) Po'Boy and it was very good! Two things I look for in a good Po'Boy is good bread and the choice of protein. The bread was perfect! Soft inside with a slightly crisp outside. The fish had an excellent flavor but very thin. I do realize swai is usually thin so this isn't a complaint, just an observation for other patrons. The onion rings were also very good. Perfectly cooked with a light and crisp coating. I was reaaaaallllyy craving a salad, so I looked on Yelp and this was the only place with a salad bar in town -- I know! Salad bar was awesome! & completely satisfied my cravings. I think the red plate (all you can eat) was like $12.99 or something like that. Brought my daughter with me and we ordered 3 different types of wings. They were cooked to perfection! Nice and crispy, how we like. Lemon pepper were a bit too lemony, but the bbq and Parmesan were perfect. We will definitely be back to try other items on the menu. read more

Today, "THE HUB" restaurant here in Crestview worked up a miracle for me. In Hawaii, the dish is called Local Moco. Here's the ingredients, white rice on the bottom, put a hamburger patty on top of the rice, then add two sunnyside up eggs on top of the hamburger. Finally, cover or smother it all with their tasty brown gravy. It's something to write home about, and I did just that. Ask for it the next time you go there. Mahalo to "THE HUB". read more

The Hub is a Fabulous gem known mostly by locals that have been frequenting for years! And with good reason!! We've eaten there about a dozen times and we've never been disappointed-not the the great service or the delicious foods! We always get the salad bar. It is a tad high compared to the smallish bowl you get, but if you're good at cramming, it's worth it! Always crunchy, crisp and fresh! All their items in the meat and sides are excellent- especially the country fried steak!! My husband and I just visited for the first time and we think we found our new favorite spot in Crestview! I got the burger with a salad from the salad bar and my husband got the burger and fries. It was so yummy! I love the salad bar and the ranch was to die for. The spring lettuce and spinach on the bar was super crisp and fresh and the buns on our burgers were toasted to perfection! I went there for the first time and I ordered a cheeseburger. When I received it, yes it was a large burger but when I went to bite into It it fell V apart and I discovered the lower , bottom roll was soggy wet. The 2 pickles were imprinted in the roll , roll was wet and flat. I was not happy with this. The waitress was not available at first so I decided to just eat the burger without the bread. When the waitress did come back, she offered another one. I declined for I couldn't wait any longer. She advised me that it's never happened before. The young man across the way has a double burger and it was soggy also. She comes back with my Check with a senior discount. I'm a senior so I felt I didn't get a break on my check for the burger. I think I should of been given my burger on the house. They have other foods available, but I'll never go and order a burger there again read more

I've had both the Country Fried Steak and their Catfish. I recommend either. The waitress was extremely friendly and helpful. Then there are the walls. They are a history lesson in and of themselves. There was a lot of up charges (onions, mushroom, peppers, salad bar). there is also a charge if you use your credit card. The waiter didn't even check or fill my water glass.
