I always make my nephew and nieces Easter baskets, but with the pandemic, it wasn't going to workout this year since I didn't want to go shopping for non-essential items. I live across the country but found SmallCakes through Instagram and saw they were offering pre-made baskets with free delivery. I called to order 3 and the woman couldn't have been kinder. My sister and her kids actually live at least 30 minutes away from this bakery but the owner was happy to do the delivery at no charge. The kids were thrilled and absolutely loved the push-up cupcakes! I would highly recommend this place based on the extremely kind customer service, as well as the rave reviews from my favorite kids. read more

Let me start off by saying I am not a fan of cupcakes. But everyone else in my family loves them. We passed by and picked up a couple of cupcakes. I got myself the ones that look like the hostess chocolate cupcake with the white icing. From the first bite I knew it was the best cupcake I had ever eaten. It tasted better then any cake, macaron, baked by Melissa... I didn't know a cupcake could taste so damn good. Sure they are $4 a cupcake. But goddamn they are good. The cupcakes here are delicious and huge. They have so many flavors to choose from. My favorite is the carrot cake, very moist and the frosting is sweet and creamy. They also make their own home made ice cream. I got a smashed cup where you can combine a cupcake with any ice cream. I went with my boyfriend and another couple and we were all impressed. Definitely beats the other ice cream places on lbi where all the flavors are the same or from breyers ice cream. Trust me I know, I've been to them all. read more

My rating has nothing to do with food quality as sadly we were not able to enjoy these cakes. I called on Wednesday to inquire about a special birthday delivery needed for Saturday & confirmed twice that they would be open & was told by the owner/wife to call back Saturday to place the order. Not only did she recant/deny what she had told me but she was not pleasant or apologetic in any way that my birthday delivery could not be accepted. Great cupcakes for the kids, very moist and lots of icing. My son got the Cookie Monster which he loved. The best ice-cream on the island. Love the salted caramel brownie and Nutella.
