Came here on a Friday evening, part of 4, without a reservation for a few drinks. If you only want drinks, you can mingle at the bar or around a few high tables. We eventually got hungry and wanted some food and they were able to seat us when a table opened. One Drinks we got: *one point of confusion was we realized we had 2 different versions of the menu, one had some different drinks. They took all the order though - Midnight espresso: good espresso martini! - pickle time: very sour (maybe too much?), lots of dill - wrenquila: if you love a spicy marg, you will LOVE this drink. It does have a kick though, may be too spicy for some - holla-daiq-girl: very artificial banana flavor, wasn't a favourite at the table - cowboy dan: good! - guinness: good pour Food we got: - popcorn chicken: unexpectedly really good - Fries: good! Decent portion size for the price Overall, the experience was great. The drinks were good too. I would recommend and want to visit again!

Only rating 4/5 stars because I feel that, although good, the food is a bit overpriced. I had a passion fruit margarita that did hit the spot but $16 seems like a bit much. I had a chicken sandwich which was recommended by the bartender. I can't say that I recall seeing bbq sauce on it on the menu and it had a bit too much for my liking, making the sandwich too wet. I didn't hate it though, but would have preferred mayo or something other than bbq sauce. The fries were really good, and a large portion, but not a $10 worth. The interior is super cute and I did enjoy my meal and the service. However, it was a bit bougie for my taste so I wouldn't put it at the top of my list.

This basil drink was great until my friend said it tasted like pesto and I cannot un-taste it. Overall good place, such a vibe to chill and grab a drink. Servers were super busy but nice.

Been here many times over the years, a couple for brunch and many just stopping in for a drink (resting the feet) and some delicious fries. It's got a nice vibe and a big bar you can cozy up too. It's got decent grub and a full bar, this has been a staple for us to stop in over the years when visiting and we are out walking and need a break. We always know we can come eat a good meal or just get a drink/snack and hang for a bit. Really love this place.

We got brunch here and it was delicious!! The sausage sandwich was delicious especially paired with the chipotle sauce. We got a carafe of bae watch, a basil gin cocktail and it was great but nothing like we expected it to be (tasted like pesto lol). Service was super quick and the ambiance was great, very cute inside.

I stopped off here after dinner and a show, as a nightcap. Being a Saturday night, it was pretty crowded, but it was after 10, so it wasn't too hard to snag an outside table (not first come, first serve, you do have to check in with the host). I had the smoked brisket croquettes with house mustard, which missed the mark for me. The flavor was pretty weak. The kale and artichoke dip with gruyere cheese and sourdough bread fared better. Overall a decent bar/snack menu that also boasts whipped ricotta, shishito peppers. Mains = friend chicken sandwich, a burger, a turkey club, fish and chips, a couple salads, schnitzel. For drinks, I had the garden center (vodka, elderflower, lemon, ginger), the bae watch (basil infused gin, mint, lemon), and the rabasa (tequila, pineapple amaro, cocci americano, lemon, grapefruit, simple, peychauds bitters). The drinks were fine, not as amazing as I thought they would be. The bae watch was my favorite--most flavorful, cleanest, most refreshing. Outside was pretty nice and not loud. Rachel was my server and did a great job. She was rad. Inside was crowded and loud. In fact, if I hadn't been able to sit outside, I would have chosen another place altogether. I wouldn't try this place again on a weekend night, but would try it on a quieter night. Wouldn't go out of my way (so many more creative places in a similar category--Goodnight Sonny, Bandits), but don't write this one off either.

A cute happy hour spot in the Bowery with a dimly-lit interior and great vibes -- perfect for a post-work hang. They HH runs until 7 and the drink selection is great, was a big fan of Wrenquila. Cauliflower Bites were also delicious!

Solid Bowery restaurant with interesting food and a good drink selection. I've been coming to the Bowery for years and it's always tricky finding a place thats chill and not too expensive but still has that older Bowery feel. The Wren and its proximity to The Bowery Electric for musicians make it a good pre-gig meal. Came here after soundcheck for just that reason. The wine selection is fairly good and the lighter fare like the shrimp salad was a great pre-gig choice. Delicious poached shrimp over arugula, with pickled fennel, watercress, chips, red wine dressing. The popcorn chicken as a shared plate is also quite good. The dipping sauce crushes. I've heard it's quite good for brunch and would definitely come and try! Also should mention our server was great, was happy to split the check amongst like 8 of us, but we did all in one and they did a great job of keeping our drinks poured.

This place is a great spot for brunch! Two of my best friends and I went during the weekend and had the whole place to ourselves. I think we must've gotten there before the rush, but that's fine with us. We had gotten an avocado bowl, waffles, and this delicious goat cheese and artichoke dip. All items were beyond amazing. The service and ambiance were also fantastic. I definitely think this is a great spot that we happened to stumble upon. If I'm in the area again, I would definitely stop by. I wholly recommend!

Really enjoyed my visit to The Wren while visiting NY. I was looking for a restaurant that was open late and luckily their kitchen was open past 11:30pm. It was mid week so it was pretty calm. Such a lovely little place. You walk in and you have a few tables around, the bar area and more tables. We sat in the back area and it was really enjoyable. Real candlelit dinner. Our server was really friendly. We started with a sour beer and a Tom collins. The sour beer was really tasty, as was the Tom collins. Then ordered the white bean hummus which was recommended by the server. It was so delicious and crunchy. We also ordered the veggie burger, it was so fresh and flavorful. Great portion and taste. Also ordered a side of fries which was a big portion and really fresh fries. The ambiance was great. The food was yummy. Truly a little gem in the area. I did try coming back over the weekend and the security was really rude and said the kitchen was closed at 11pm but not letting that encounter ruin my first experience! But definitely keep in mind the kitchen closing time may vary as can some of the staff. Overall, still worth the experience on a week night.

    french toast and bacon

I went to brunch with two other people. two of us ordered the french toast and the portion was insanely small!! literally a single piece of bread. it was ridiculous! it tasted great but at least give us two pieces of french toast in an order! we also ordered a side of bacon and it came out BURNT. I should have sent it back but I just didn't have it in me. the brunch cocktails were phenomenal and the sausage sandwich the other person ordered was good and a normal portion. service and ambiance were good too. but yeah the portion size was insane. total rip off.

I don't know what it was about this place, but left feeling very uninspired. Came here for drinks, and when we got there the host was going back and forth on whether we would be able to sit outside or not: Snip, snap! Snip, snap! We did end up getting a seat outside, and the ambiance was nice but the traffic going up and down bowery had me unable to hear my own thoughts at points. After a subpar espresso martini, I pivoted to a Watermelon High that also ended up being subpar. Just a bit too sugary for my liking. Wish I could give 3.5 stars, as this was the poster child experience for 3.5 stars.

Still a favorite spot of mine. Food and drinks are reliably good and won't break the bank.

Could a 15 person bridal shower brunch fit here? Is here anywhere in the venue where we could have a semi-private or sectioned off table or corner? With the plan to make a reservation for noon on a Saturday?

There is a back half of the restaurant that they MIGHT be able to close off for your group. Plenty of table space if you are allowed to rent out the area. Hope that helps!

I recently attended one of their free yoga classes as part of their Winter Fitness program. The space is pretty large and comfortably held the 40 or so attendees the night I attended yoga. We all were informed beforehand to bring our own mats and towels as these would not be provided. The yoga sessions are run by different yoga companies and the one I attended was by Sputnik Yoga and was a silent headphone yoga session. We each were provided, free of charge, headphones to wear during class. This was my first time attending a session like this but had a blast! The headphones took a bit getting used to, but I loved that you could clearly hear the teacher during the class. They also played some cool music while helping to block out all other sounds. This really helped me focus on the movement and the instructions. The class was an open level Vinyasa but the movements and flow were slightly advance. It was quite a workout and I was sweaty by the end. After class, we were each given wipes to sanitize the headphones and our mats. Then we all took selfies in this beautiful space and one final group picture, which they posted on their Instagram account. This was by far the coolest yoga class I've ever taken. I've been telling all of my friends and co-workers about it and have already signed up for some of their upcoming classes. Overlook offers other types of activities like Meditation, Ribbon Dancing, Barre classes and Story time for kids. For instance, according to its website, it could fit up to 150 guests for a cocktail party or 20-120 guests for a seated dinner, but this setup held about 60-70 patrons. However, it was able to accommodate a coat check, a bar, a DJ station, a photo booth, and a few couches, while still allowing room for attendees to gather in groups and servers to pass out hors d'oeuvres. The party I attended was catered by Abigail Kirsch, and the food was fabulous in both taste and quantity.
