Food was good. Service was better. Sloth Spritz drink was amazingly tasty- not too sweet. Started with nachos which weren't too cheesy. Steak sandwich was tasty too. Service was good.!

Definitely loud and turns into a bit of a club scene at 7pm which I felt was a little too early considering it's still dinner time where people are finishing their meals. Music is great though, service was really good (nice of them to give us free shots!), and the food was tasty. Steak skewers could've used a sauce or veg but not bad.

This is a 4.5 star review I took a trip to Jackdaw on a Monday evening for a happy hour with friends. We wanted to savor the last bit of warm weather we'll have in New York, so thankfully, Jackdaw has a great outdoor space! In addition to their happy hour (which I believe goes from 5-7pm), this place has special happy hour food deals depending on the day. On Mondays, they had $6 Espresso Martini, $8 Pickle Martinis, and $3 Bao Buns (with a requirement to order a minimum of 3, for $9). I got an Aperol Spritz, which I loved, and the pork bao buns, which I also loved. The bao buns were fluffy and flavorful, although the pork was just a little tough. Overall, still a beautiful place. Our server, Seamus, was also quite attentive. A good find!

Stopped by Jackdaw with two friends after seeing Wicked: For Good, and it was the perfect post-show spot. The bar is cozy yet lively and a great balance of energy without feeling overcrowded. (To be honest, it did run a little younger -- like college-aged). We were able to snag a table quickly, and the service was warm and on point. I ordered the maple whiskey sour, and it was phenomenal. Smooth, seasonal, and just the right amount of sweetness without overpowering the whiskey. Easily the best cocktail I've had in the East Village in a while. My friends all loved their drinks (baked apple margarita & spicy margarita). The bartenders clearly know what they're doing. It's the kind of bar that works whether you want a chill conversation or a fun night out. The music wasn't overwhelming but the hits kept playing. Definitely adding Jackdaw to my rotation.

It has been a long work week so my friend and I wanted to have some drinks and food. She actually googled around our work area and found Jackdaw. It was midday and we were seated right away. The interior was beautifully decorated for the holidays and our host was very charming. We ordered the Frozen Lychee martini, French fries and nachos. When I tell you, that was the best frozen martini I've ever had. It was delicious. The appetizers were great. You can't go wrong with those choices. They have weekly specials so take advantage of that. You can't say I didn't tell you. Eat, drink and enjoy!

The menu surprised me. Engaging a variety of Palates which is versatile, thoughtful and modern. I only had beer and a steak sando but damn bro... The steak was cooked medium. The color, taste and tenderness was perfect. Idk what the side sauce was but it complimented the fries very well. 11/10!

Went on a Wednesday for their frozen lychee martini deal and omg it was so worth it! The best lychee martini I've had. Love the vibe of the place as well, it was very nicely decorated while I was not expecting much. The wait staff were very friendly. Will definitely return!

Good, no frills spot for an easy meal. Came here for a last minute brunch and was thankful to get a table! The place has a 2 for 1 brunch special where you get 2 drinks per person for the price of 1 - say less! Drinks were tasty and boozy. The breakfast burrito was delicious- well seasoned, hearty and filling. It came with home fries - again a very generous portion. Great neighborhood spot and will be back for more!

Phenomenal spot with wonderfully crafted cocktails at fair prices and fantastic happy hour and daily specials. The bartenders are friendly and the place is casual but intimate. They also have a table in front of a fireplace with cozy seating around it for a group. The food was decent but nothing that will knock your socks off.

    1. The bartender is racist. Treats differently if you are white or not. 2. They have attitude in general and they discriminate how well they treat their customers based on how much customers tip. If you tip low around 20-25% it will be clear on their face that they are not fond with it. 3. Bar is very loud with repetitive music with ass service. Honestly I was fine with the bar the first visit. The bartender still had an attitude on the first visit but I didn't think of it much. It just became very clear on my second visit and my friend's third visit. I had to wait the bartender for 20 minutes to get back to me and there were few other customers who went before me even though the bartender saw that I needed to order and we locked our eyes. They didn't accept 100 dollar bills (I only had cash) so my friend had to pay for me with the money I zelled her instead. She didnt want to use my money without me knowing so she didn't tip him at the moment. Then when other customer came to buy a drink and gave him customized tip of $2 other customers called him out that was brutal as a jokingly way. The bartender joined the convo agreeing and called out my friend to everyone that she does not tip AT ALL with intention of embarrassing her. What a disgusting behavior. Mind you the two other visits she went she always tipped and this was the first time she couldn't because it wasn't her money in control. I also tried tipping the bartender in cash but they didn't want to accept it giving an attitude. Honestly worse service ever, with mid vibes and mid drink. Would never visit here again and would not recommend it to anyone who are looking for fun night out.

The food and drinks were amazing. 10/10 I will be back soon. If you have not visited this gem of a restaurant RUN don't walk and have a great time. The cocktails will have you forgetting about your bad day.

    Beautiful Setup

My close friends had planned an amazing birthday day out for me, and our NYC fun day started from this bar at 11 in the morning. I think this was the only bar they managed to find, which opens at 11! We were glad to walk into a rather empty, but extremely well decorated holiday setup and Owen, the friendly and amazing bar tender was the one who ensure our 2 hour stay was very pleasant! We ordered Bomb IPA which was an amazing Hazy IPA on draught to try. Highly recommend this, if you are a Hazy IPA fan. For cocktails, we stuck to their very popular Margarita Picante ($11) - has an amazing spice kick to it, and not at all sweet. We also tried their Paloma ($15) which was ok, but not as good when compared to the Margarita. Service, set-up, and everything else was spot on. Will definitely visit again for brunch some day!

Breakfast bowl sans bacon (bacon jam in the center bowl)

I came here for Saturday brunch. The patronage wasn't very diverse and most folks were in their 20s and 30s. They have indoor and outdoor seating, as well as a covered patio. It was rainy and windy when I visited, but the covered patio was still tolerable and totally dry. Inside, they have bar seating and tables. Most of the tables seemed to have bar stool seats with no backs, so not the most comfortable. It was also super loud. They have a fun playlist with contemporary pop and r&b music, but it was definitely tough to carry a conversation without raising your voice. Service was initially quite slow. It seemed like they forgot about our table for bit and when a waitress finally came over, she was surprised that we hadn't ordered yet. They have an amazing 2 for 1 deal on brunch cocktails. Their cocktails are already a fantastic deal at $11 each so two for the price of one is unheard of. I had the picante margarita and it was delicious! On the sweeter side, but had a perfect spicy kick. The salted rim was subtly flavored as well. To eat, I ordered the breakfast bowl. I am vegetarian and the menu mentioned that it included bacon, so I asked for that on the side, which they accommodated. However, the dish also came with a bacon jam that was not mentioned in the ingredients on the menu. At first, I thought it was just marinated peppers and onions but thankfully I double checked with the waitress before eating it. They were able to swap out the dish for me quite quickly, but beware when ordering if you don't eat bacon. After I got a fresh plate without the meat, I enjoyed it. The eggs were perfectly scrambled and topped with parmesan cheese. The potatoes were well seasoned and the avocado was fresh. It was very filling. My partner got the parmesan scrambled eggs and enjoyed it as well. Overall, despite the minor mishaps, it was a satisfying meal. It's worth a visit for the cocktail deal alone. Four drinks for $22 is unbeatable!

Ambiance: This place has a nice ambiance, definitely very "New York" -- dark (you can't see how dirty the floor is) and loud music (maybe too loud). We sat upstairs (we had a reservation) and of all the people on the top there was a party of 4 (us), a party of 8 (all dudes celebrating something) and the rest of the tables were on a DATE - which I thought was funny. Service: We were served by Ann-Marie who was so delightful. She was kind, super nice, and took the time to speak to us (which is basically how we figured out she wasn't a native New York City person). She gave us good food suggestions and we were very happy with our selection. Food: Here is what we ordered * Steak Frites: My two boys got the steak frites and I have to say the steak was awesome! I had a bite of each of theirs and they each ordered it differently (one Medium Rare/Medium and one Medium) and they both were prepared PERFECTLY. The fries were overflowing. * Caeser Salad with Salmon: My wife got the salad with Salmon (they only have a few salad options) and she enjoyed it. * Prawn and Crab Risotto: I got this and I have to say it was VERY bland. I wouldn't get this if you are looking for taste. I had to put salt and pepper on it to make it have any semblance of taste. Value/Price: I would say this is not over priced but it is not cheap either...bill is attached. I would recommend it to folks who are looking for a good place to either go out on a date or a family type meal.

It's better than it needs to be, which in this neighborhood counts for a lot. The room is the star. Brass, smoked mirrors, marble, wallpaper with burlesque dancers, very Gatsby cosplay but done with actual money. Think the Campbell at Grand Central, minus the $28 martini attitude. It's also LOUD downstairs. Ask for upstairs if you want to hear your date. Gin is the program here and they take it seriously, house-infused bottles paired with specific tonics, not an afterthought. My G&T was legitimately well built. Food from chef JC Colón is better than cocktail-bar standard: truffle fries in duck fat are worth it, the lobster mac at $31 is rich and fine but you've had it before. Skip dessert. The steak frites at $48 is where I'd tap out, that's real-restaurant money for bar food execution. Here's the move though: weekday happy hour, 4 to 7. Dollar oysters and $13 cocktails in a room this pretty is one of the best deals in Midtown, full stop. Service was warm and fast even slammed. Not a destination, but if you're near Bryant Park or seeing a show, this beats everything else within five blocks. Book ahead, walk-ins were getting turned away by 5:30.

Downstairs, skip the fried chicken (it's tenders, whatever the menu says) and get the fish and chips, which are honest. The tea was strong and fragrant - it is on the sweeter side, a bit like dessert, so i had to pair it with water, but it was still yummy and would recommend yuzu contact - this was alright! Typical yuzu but ive had better ones - personally feel like the yuzu can be brighter and a bit sweeter rating: 4/5 - the drinks were all good but nothing particularly stood out except for the hojicha colada - the vibe and the music really brought up my rating though! It was such a cute, cozy, intimate spot for dates - small speakeasy with only a few seats, similar to bars in japan; it's one of those japanese listening bars and i love it - there was light jazz in the background, not too loud that i had to shout - the mood was perfect; I couldn't stop staring at the interior decor and immerse myself in this little cozy corner - service was super quick, nothing much to note IG: @nom.noms.only

It's a very small space, so it may be a bit of a wait for a seat. We came around 8:45 PM, and got a spot at the bar after about 20 minutes. We tried the yuzu contact and the ma-chet baker, and the ma-chet baker was definitely our favorite. It tasted just like a matcha latte, and I liked the bits of gen maicha in it. It wasn't very strong however. The yuzu contact was also very light and citrusy.

The drinks were also pretty good and fairly priced! Really enjoyed my cucumber chili oil drink, it was savory and unique. Seating was limited though but our party managed to snag one once another party left. definitely a first come first serve concept.

Mood lighting, comfortable seating, great drinks in a cozy and Victorian-inspired space are the perfect blend of unique and. I always felt like I was part of something special the few times enjoyed creative, delicious, and strong libations from the pros at the bar. While it has always been pricey, I do feel like the excellent service ambiance, and drink quality warrant this, but may prevent more folks from becoming regulars so to speak. I love the clever and compact bathroom design, too. IYKYK Long live Apotheke!
