Typical Mexican restaurant, like many others. This one is very small and located across the street from an El Nopal so it's not very busy. But great daily and lunch specials on food and drinks! Today was 2 for 1 margaritas. Chips and salsa are great! Lunch menu is unbeatable for an inexpensive meal. They also have a lunch reward card, ask for one! They are usually in the Val PAC coupons mailed to your home. The service is SUPER fast! Waiter was not super friendly, but order was correct and fast! My favorite is the chile relleno, best in town!!

Was craving Mexican food so I stopped in, I left still craving Mexican food :( I ordered the 5 enchiladas, the food came out quick but I felt like the enchiladas were super tiny and I was skimped out on the meat. The mole like sauce they poured on top was runny and watery. The salsa was really runny as well, you couldn't even scoop salsa it was so watery. Might've as well have dipped the chips into water! On top of that, the $2 margaritas had hardly any alcohol. I mean, at least I didn't taste any.

Gigante Burrito drowned in the most flavorful and strongest cheese i have ever had.

I only visited this place once before like 5 years ago and it was something to remember cause i learned what a hot plate was burning the memory of that place into my head but what i remembered was that one of the things i had from there was amazing but it was like a faded memory so when me and buddies decided to go out to eat i pitched going here and we all ordered the same thing Gigante Burrito with the power punching cheese drenched over it and it was just absolutely amazing it was literally Gigante weird eating a burrito with a knife and fork but it was worth it in the end cause i left wanting more.

Fantastic Mexican food. Went right after lunch rush time and the place still had a few people! As soon as we came in they had chips and salsa for us. We we're serve super quickly, within 8 minutes of ordering! The food was delicious. I ordered the Carnitas and they where very moist and tender. Very cheap prices to, I only paid $10 with tip for the food. Another great find, thanks to Yelp!

I had been wanting to go for quite some time to try the Birria because I heard it is so amazing, and it really lived up to the Hype! Oh, did I mention they have the viral soft serve margaritas!?!?! I got the strawberry, it was so pretty, excellent presentation and absolutely delicious! I will say it was more like a dessert to me and I would have preferred to have it after my meal instead if before but that's just me. We got there between 6:30 and 7:00 and it was really busy, luckily our friends got there first and grabbed a table. They had already had a round of drinks while waiting on us but it took a while for anyone to come over to greet us or refill their drinks but again it was busy and everyone was helping everyone. We ended up splitting the birria platter and still had plenty of food to take home which we just ate last night as leftovers and were still absolutely fire!! I think the egg roll and quesadillas were my favorite over the tacos bc I love the melty cheese. I also ordered a small side of queso which was surprisingly a little spicy which I really enjoyed. They even surprised us when my BIL ordered a small margarita and it came out in a fish glass (see photo). It was so unexpected but also so cute at the same time ... it's really the little things like this that bring joy, okay? LOL This place was absolutely amazing and I can't wait to try it again.

When we arrived we had a brief wait before we checked in, and were seated on the second level. Our server was excellent, our service was quick and he was always around without hovering. It was bitter cold outside so instead of my usual margarita ($14+) I opted for a beer ($6). We started with the salsa trio, one of my favorites with handmade assorted chips. It includes three salsas, somewhat spicy, sweet tomato and tomatillo - the spicy and sweet were my favorites. Next we ordered the tacos el carbon and carbon burrito - pricing is expensive! We both ordered our steaks medium rare. My tacos had a beautiful presentation, the meat came out on a skewer and smoking from the hot coals. All toppings were repeated on the plate. The steak was overcooked and tough though. Had a nice smoke to it, but very chewy. My husband enjoyed his burrito but wasn't the best he's ever had. They also had a mariachi band walk around but they had "tips" all over their instruments and clothes. Overall we had a nice meal but the price point doesn't equal the food quality.

If someone had told me a few years ago that one of the most culturally immersive, electrifying, and…read moreculinary-forward ethnic dining experiences in the United States would be found in Louisville, Kentucky, I might have been highly skeptical. But La Bodeguita De Mima (at 725 E Market St) completely shatters any preconceptions. Chefs Fernando and Yaniel Martinez have created more than just a restaurant; they have built a lasting highlight to Cuba that captivates from the moment you approach the building. The ambiance here is an absolute masterclass in restaurant design. The exterior--painted in eye-catching, vibrant tropical hues--hints at the escape inside. The moment you walk in, you are instantly transported back in time to 1950s Havana. The air is thick with the rich, intoxicating aromas of garlic, citrus, and roasting pork, underscored by the lively rhythms of classic salsa music. The Appetizers (Aperitivos): We kicked off the meal with the Papas Rellenas and Empanadas Cubanas. The papas--crispy, golden-breaded potato balls stuffed with a savory, deeply seasoned beef picadillo--were perfect. When paired with the house cilantro aioli, it's pure magic. The empanadas feature a remarkably flaky crust packed with perfectly spiced filling that sets a benchmark for what Latin street food can elevate to when handled by master chefs. The Main Course (Fuertes): For the entrees, the Lechón Asado is mandatory. As the undisputed king of Cuban pork, this dish features marinated, incredibly tender, slow-roasted pork that melts in your mouth, brightened by a sharp, garlicky mojo sauce. It is served alongside exceptional congris (black beans and rice cooked together) and sweet, caramelized maduros (fried plantains). We also tried the Ropa Vieja, a flawlessly executed Cuban classic of braised, shredded beef simmered in a rich tomato-wine sauce with sweet peppers and onions. The balance of acidity, savory depth, and melt-in-your-mouth texture was a triumph. The Drinks & Dessert: You cannot leave without ordering a cocktail. Their Mojito is easily the best in the city--crisp, perfectly muddled, and dangerously refreshing. To close out the night, we ordered the Habano de Chocolate, a stunningly creative dessert shaped exactly like a Cuban cigar, complete with an almond cake and Nutella core, served alongside a flawless, velvety Café Cubano (espresso shot). La Bodeguita De Mima honors the soul of Cuban home cooking while presenting it in a world-class, vibrant venue. For those searching for authentic, high-quality ethnic food, impeccable hospitality, and an unforgettable atmosphere in Louisville, look no further. Mima's house is open, and you absolutely need to visit. We will return; it is a must-stop.

I believe it used to be a different restaurant and what time however I decided to try the Peruvian menu today so it's lunchtime, but I was given the option to utilize the larger full menu, so I got some fried fish which came with a salad and some rice on the side. The rice was plain white rice. The salad was some lettuce and tomato with a nice light vinaigrette. It was really delicious and my fish was cooked to perfection. It was a fillet and it was fried with some different spices and lightly battered it was absolutely perfect sweet/juicy easy to delightful so after I finished my salad and my fish, I was left with this large bleed over rice and I just didn't know what to do with it so I asked for a serving of beans on the side and I got the pinto beans and they were nicely flavored with the some queso and they had run it under the broiler to mop the cheese. It was delicious it rounded out my meal, and I will tell you that haven't eaten that whole plate. I left no crumbs. It it did not leave me over full and I ordered flan for dessert and the flan is beautiful and creamy with custard with a dollar above whipped cream and a cherry on top the caramel sauce at the bottom is really, really beautiful. It has a light caramelized flavor from the sugar melting with the phlegm the flan itself it wasn't bad. It was OK a little egg but sometimes that does happen or rather the dessert is really nice. This is a place that I would come back to and also bring my family for a family meal in the restaurant is large and inviting. It's good for a night out with a friends and your family and here I am on my solo journey for food and it works for me too so when you have an opportunity come on down and try this place out my server was amazing. She was so sweet and she put up with my limited Spanish use and she did come and check on me periodically she didn't hover, but she didn't just leave me to be looking around for somebody to help me either so that was a good balance even when she started to get busy with more customers coming in like I said come down and try this restaurant out. It's really nice the atmosphere is very very nice. They didn't have pictures of the other food because I was so hungry and I ate every last thing on my plate
