We played doubles, and my partner and I won the game against the other two players. Points are scored only when the serving team wins a rally, and I am a good server. I learned fast how to make the ball hit the court in front the blue line, which is known as the kitchen. Elvis, the head coach, was thorough in his explanation of the fundamentals of the game. We practiced our skills with our peers, getting feedback from the coach that was assigned to our court. There was a coach for each of the eight courts, and each court had four players. I learned the rules of the game and how to score. The goal is to keep the ball out of the kitchen. You can only volley outside the kitchen. The class lasted approximately two hours, and we all had fun. I will definitely be back to take more classes. ADVISORY: Coach Elvis said that classes registered for online usually fill up within 15 minutes, and summer registration begins on 6/3/2025.

Based on many recent positive visitor reviews, people consistently praise the stunning landscapes, historic mansion, tranquil atmosphere, and endless photo opportunities. I'm giving it 5 stars because it's truly a beautiful place to spend a couple of hours. Whether you want to leisurely stroll through the gardens, take lots of photos, or do a little of both, about two hours feels just right. There's also plenty of free parking, which makes visiting easy. While the current admission price of $22 per adult feels a bit high, the beauty of the property and the overall experience still make it worth the visit. Throughout the year they host great special events, including classic car shows and an incredible illuminated pumpkin trail before Halloween that has become a Long Island favorite.

The area is a large well laid out marshland with wooden paths. Unlike many preserves, you will always see wildlife - lots of it. The highlight is an osprey tower. Sprinklers are turned on during the summer (don't forget your kid's bathing suit and towel). Where the bathrooms are located at inside the community room, there's a billiard and ping pong table, a water fountain and vending machines for your convenience. Next to the playground, there's a basketball and tennis court, where you can also play handball, badminton and volleyball. This park could get a bit crowded during summer camp times but it isn't too bad.

If you go up and down the long way, you can get a nice 3.5 miles in on this baby with some hills. Throw in a weighted vest, and you're getting yourself a solid light workout. There are already so many reviews, so just some notes: 1) Make your way around the current dump (also a Nassau County gem, seriously) and drive slowly. 2) Parking is tricky at certain times of the day and on weekends. Make sure to come before 9:30 on beautiful days, or else you'll be parking far, far away. More steps, If you really want them I guess. 3) Wear your sunscreen! Skin cancer is no joke, and it's pretty bright up top with not a lot of coverage if you walk around to the lake. 4) Beware...No lights in the bathroom and really not the best place to use the loo. There however is a shopping center close by... 5) Look out of all sorts of critters from birds to bugs.. including ticks.
