Great atmosphere and design, delicious coffee! I came here because there was a 100% ScoutMob option for a cup of Ethiopian coffee. I was disappointed to see it had only received two stars because I had a very positive experience at this location. Aside from the rather sketchy location, it is a very unique alternative to the normal coffee shop experience. Upon walking in, I was immediately taking aback by the interior design. It has a dark, geometric and edgy feel to it which was accented well by the ambient music and the delicious mixture of sweet smells. It definitely feels more upscale than other coffee shops in the same price range. The service was exceptional. The woman providing us with service was very nice, helpful, and even came by to check on us twice which I don't often experience at locations like this. Even though our ScoutMob only guaranteed us one cup of coffee, she continually walked by and filled it up at no additional obligation. I am a coffee snob, and without knowing anything about the coffee itself, other than it being an Ethiopian blend, I found it to be very delicious taken black. It is pleasantly gritty, dark, and aromatic with slight fruity undertones. Definitely an excellent cup of joe! Have heard positive things about their deserts - will have to try those soon! read more

Exited! Great neighborhood coffee &Wine bar in the Druid Hills Area. It's a nice international mix of local people and Ethiopians from all over that stop by to visit. The decor is super sexy with chocolate wood furniture and chandlers that sets a great ambiance. It's always a different crowd depending on the time and day you go. The morning crowd is local work at home people and Entrepreneurs who enjoy a good coffee and Free Wi Fi during the day. The night crowd is more young and trendy with skinny jeans and big black glasses with Vans lol But there is also a mix of professionals and local couples who enjoy a nice vibe and share Hookahs together. The one thing that I wish they would have is more room. The place is very intimate and fills up quick, especially on the weekends. They also have food from next door from Bahel who has fish Tibs to die for. I have them At least once a week (No seriously. The comfy velvelty couches, chic chandeliers over the bar and the friendliness of the owner make it super easy to chill while you enjoy your delicious beverage or excellent pastry. The really cool thing about this place is that they also serve alcohol and allow you to enjoy a hookah. If you like W Hotels or similar boutique properties, you'll be at home here due to the similar look & feel. You know a business is good when one wishes to live closer to it and become a regular. I would come here in the morning to wake up with my coffee, do some work on the free wifi and then I could come back in the evening and enjoy a nice glass of wine. There is little doubt that I would make lots of friends from the diverse, hip and smart clientele. I sipped on it for about 20 mins--stalling for my food. By the end of my drink, it was pretty watered down. After 30 minutes of waiting for my food--I ordered a glass of wine. I asked the waiter, how long does the salmon burger usually take? They said 30 mins. It was well passed 30 minutes at this point. I use to absolutely love this place, but after my experience her last weekend I will not be returning. I spent around 5 hours here on Saturday. Things were great in the beginning but one it became more crowded the service suffered. My friend asked for another sprite, never got it. It took 45 mins for my friend to get her wings when there was barely a crowd. She also ordered a vanilla latte. Never got it. Another friend ordered a beer. Never got it. It took 45 min for them to bring the check and when they did it was completely wrong. The bartender tried to give me THREE different reasons as to why I was being over charged. I was charged for an extra hookah I never ordered. She also said that I did not order it during happy hour; however everything else on my ticket was happy hour price, so please explain that?!?! It took another 30 min to correct the situation. I will not be returning. read more

Therapy used to be my favorite spot; it's lowkey, close to my house, and the vibes are chill. However, recently they overcharge for everything with hopes of getting away with it and the service is beyond poor. - two of our hookahs has the entire table coughing because it was poorly prepared. The guy servicing the hookahs came over, tried them and said, "they're fine to me." Completely minimizing the entire table's experience is not good customer service. - the last two times I've been I've been overcharged and had to wait 30+ minutes for a solution (one of those times I just paid the overcharge because I was growing impatient and frustrated). - because it is a neighborhood lounge, the servers have their regulars, and it is always clear that they get better service. - they charge $3+ for water... my server tried to confiscate the reusable water bottle I brought in telling me I had to pay for water. This place is great. If I could give 4.5 stars, I would. My friend and I came on a Saturday afternoon after a good meal across the street to grab a drink before he went to work. It's a pretty sweet hookah bar, tinted windows and scents of all sorts of sheesha flavors that come over you as you make your way in. Naturally, we sat at the bar, because those re the kind of people that we are. My friend had a heineken while I had one of their bellinis. Which are really great btw - a fresh taste of peach topped off with champagne (for anybody who doesn't know what a bellini is) btw - a bit of history trivia. A bellini is the drink known to Venice, Italy; named after the Venetian renaissance painter and the staple drink of Harry's Bar (often frequented by Hemingway) Anyways, back to the bar. The drink is good, but that is not the best thing about this bar. It's the music. I loved the vibe of 2000s R&B. I mean, I stayed for a second drink, just so i could grove along for a little bit. However, I need to definitely come back and review again just for the whole experience. After all, it's a hookah bar and I didn't have any hookah or try any of their delicious looking menu. Boy oh Boy was this the biggest disappointment and i should've followed my gut instance during my trip to Atlanta. Firstly, this hookah lounge is located in a strip mall......blank stare. There have to be a dozen Ethiopian establishments in that one block vicinity.......clue? So upon walking in i take a seat and a young lady approaches me and says nothing. Give me a menu and walks clean off. Comes back after about 5 or 6 minutes and says do you know what you want. Uh yea what if i had no idea what a hookah was or wanted suggestions? She clearly didnt give a rats ! So i asked for a mint hookah she said ok walked off and sat at the bar and talked and smoke her little head away. She told another person and they made it brought it out a couple of minutes later. Sat it on the table in front of me and again walked off...no enjoy...no did you need anything else. So i smoked for a while and then i started to see that everyone inside and outside the lounge looked Ethiopian. They all appeared to be friends or family. I thought to myself this cant be good for business. But i digress. There were a couple of little kids running in and out of the lounge and up and down the strip mall as their mom sat and talked to the waitress. They even jumped on the door and hung off of the door handles as everyone looked as if nothing were happening. So im unsure if they are impartial to outsiders (non-Ethiopian) people. Even if they weren't they sure made me feel that way. From the looks of it not many people had bad experiences at this lounge. I sure as hell did and would be paid to go back with free hookahs for life and a part ownership....No! I couldnt tell you if they have food or whatever? I just dont know. I wasnt explained or talked to. I think they had deserts in a displace case near the bar.....? Weird right? Save your money go to cafe Istanbul. read more

Drawn by the bright orange 100% off a Cup of Coffee on my Scoutmob, I ventured into this cafe and it was definitely not what I expected. I think because it has the name "Therapy" in the title, I was expecting a zen-like Buddhist type place. I once again learned not to judge a book by its cover. OCCASION This is a great casual but pretty place if you just want to chill and relax, catch up with some folks, and smoke some hookah (which I prefer not to). DECOR For some reason, in my head I imagined sipping on a cup of coffee in a red armchair next to the fireplace, but instead I was sitting on a large black couch in a modern hotel-like atmosphere. The decor was great, just not what I expected for a cafe. FOOD/COFFEE The Hazelnut Roll Cake was excellent. It was covered in pieces of crunchy hazelnut pieces, but the roll cake was surprisingly dense... definitely not like those Chinese cake rolls. Definitely needs to be washed down with coffee. The Tiramisu was also great, but more sweet than alcohol-y than what you'd find in true Tiramisu desserts. And the coffee was solid. It was a bit strong for my taste, but it paired very well with the sweet desserts we ordered. I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to come get coffee here though. SERVICE The waitress was really friendly, and checked up on us often, but was very slow to bring out our check. We had to ask once, and then also go in to ask for the check. WARNING There is free parking which is a plus, but the lot is so poorly designed!! If you loop around the lot and can't find parking, you can't get to the other side of the lot without getting back on the main street and turning back in. Also, I'm personally not a smoker, second-hand smoker, and might even be allergic to smoke. So once night fell and more people came in for the hookah, it was time for me to peace out! read more

I was dying and needed coffee to stay alive. I went here because of the 100% off offer from Scoutmob and it was nearby. The only other non- national-chain coffee shop I really go is Thousand Hills, which is nice, casual, and well lit. Therapy has an outdoor area, but the inside has kind of a less casual ambiance. Think cherry wood, chocolate, leather, and velvet. There are a couple tables aligning the walls. There are also small lounging areas. This place is more conducive to meet ups than for studying. They have very limited sockets for use. BUT! Free wifi. no password needed. Hollaa! My free coffee tasted watered down. This is coming from someone who drinks coffee only when she is dying, which happens once or twice a week. However, there was a small selection of confections to make me feel better. The mango cake sounded really appetizing but they ran out so I got the creme brulee. It was good but had the consistency of pudding. Oh well, I still enjoyed it. The ladies were smoking (hookah) on the job. Awesome! So yea, you can get your hookah on, here. While I was there, most of the clients were men chillaxing. read more

THIS is the spot. Chill, great atmosphere, sleek, trendy, dim, and loungey. Note: it is very small and cozy. There are only maybe 3 tall top tables, the bar, and the rest of the seating is sofas- which lots of people kinda huddle up on. Very nice and pretty ladies provide great service, Ruta is very friendly- see her. The crowd is heavily Ethiopian, professional, after-work type, with a few students tossed in. Of course, I went on a weeknight after work, so not sure who I expected would be there. Tried hookah for the very first time here, $18, it was called Queen of Sex, it was really nice, and lasted a LOOOOONG time. Ruta changed our coals at least 3 times- no charge for that. Had a drink called Rehab that was out of this world strong, tasty and potent. The MUSIC here is ON POINT. There was no DJ, but thank goodness, because they don't need one. It's a LOUNGE- where you LOUNGE- you know, relax, puff, sip, and maybe eat. Food Therapy, next door, wasn't open (Monday), which was disappointing. I had been waiting to try their delectables. Apparently, you can order from there, and they'll bring it to you at Therapy. We were starved. There is a yummy Chinese take-out/delivery spot next door. No, you can't bring the Chinese food inside Therapy. However, Therapy does have outside seating. You can figure that out for yourself. Had a great time, and can't wait to go back. I'm so disappointed and very upset with the lounge as a whole!! I spent over $100 and proceeded to pay with my Visa credit card. I was then told at the end of my visit that they only take Visa card with the chip, and because my card did not have a chip they were unable to accept my form of payment. Left me with no choice but to ask the person I was with, to pay for the check. VERY embarrassing and unprofessional. Never been out dining anywhere where I couldn't use my visa major credit card! This is literally my low key spot! I've been coming here for years, you can catch me here Wednesday's at the bar. The music is great, such a diverse playlist. The food is always on point. Try the salmon, or the panini or anything! The hookah is some of the best in Atlanta. Simon is always nice and says hello every time I see him. I love to see management / owners engage with patrons. Therapy being in a heavily Ethiopian dominated business area tends to be frequented by an Ethiopian/ East African customer base and the owner is Ethiopian as well. This all goes to say the coffee/spiced tea/desserts are the Bomb.com. So good! Trust me on this one. A part from the really awesome coffee and tea, this place has great customer service and the owner is also very friendly & often greets the guests at their table when she is around. Some of my friends frequent this place mainly for the hookah and relaxed yet classy atmosphere. I have seen people order food from the other Ethiopian restaurants near by and eat there and they don't frown upon that but actually invite you to it and whatever makes your visit enjoyable. The owner also owns a business two doors down in the same row of businesses called Food Therapy which offers the same type of stuff but in a dining setting for different types of foods you can try. Over all really great place to go and have coffee and dessert and just hang out away from the usual starbucks or intermezzo. And not pricey at all. If you're NOT a fan of loud music/ lounge-(y)/clubby type of atmosphere don't go at night, too many people smoking Hookah and loud music can be annoying when you're not partaking. I find this place more enjoyable during the day away from the large crowds so I can drink my latte in peace! read more

Went here after dinner at Desta's. This was probably the highlight of my brief visit to Atlanta. 4.5 First off, DJ Tabone was perfection. A cool blend of Omar, Fela, Dawn Penn... Nuff said. He made me feel like runway strutting, winding, grinding, pouring libations...THE ISH!!!! If I had an event I would book him. You feel cooler under his musical fairy dust. Find him on fbook and get sprinkled. ;) I had a Jack/Ginger (my sig) and it was strong enough for me to sip through my mainly solo Hookah set up. Curiosity got the best of me and I tried the Special blend. It was good (a secret but enough mint and fruit to suggest it includes a pinch of everything) but I would've been just as happy with mixed fruits, mango, etc. My friend had coffee and tiramisu and she was happy. They added people to our seating but asked very politely prior to this. The employees are gorgeous...the woman who relit a second charcoal (without request) was a dayum alien she was so gorgeous...Iman x10!!!! I have to say I was pretty impressed. Went with a few friends for some food and hookah. The hookah was cheap and the blends were tasty. Service was friendly and fast. The food good, nothing fancy but enjoyable. The atmosphere was beautiful. I really can respect the cleanliness of the lounge. The reason why I have to give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because you have to PAY FOR WATER! Seriously.... I don't need your fancy blue bottles... also they don't have ice hoses which I'm told is a cultural thing which I can respect. While I wouldn't keep this lounge on my list to visit, and part of it is because I don't live in the area, I would recommend it for someone that was in the area, and is looking for a quaint spot to chill. This is a pretty cool Ethiopian hookah bar. I came here the other night to hang out with a friend and had a good time. He picked the hookah because he's much more of a connoisseur than I am and it tasted pleasant and fruity. I think it was a sex on the beach blend. I'm not an expert by any means, but I enjoyed it. The hookah also lasted a long time; our waitress definitely changed the coal somewhere around three times. In addition to the hookah I had a cup of their chai tea, which was delicious, and a few beers. Everything seemed pretty reasonably priced. The layout of the place was small but varied. They had couches set up in the front and the back of the room that you could sit at as well as table seating both inside and outside. My main gripes about the place were the service and the ventilation. Our server was pleasant but pretty absent, and the place wasn't swamped or anything. Other reviewers seem correct in that she pretty much laid down the menu and left, then it was difficult to get her back to the table. It took a while to get new drinks and we definitely waited a pretty long time after asking for the check. As I mentioned before, she was good about changing the coal though. As for the ventilation, it seemed like there wasn't any at all. After a while we had to move outside because it was really hot and all the smoke was making me feel kind of nauseous. Nice place, but more of a lounge than a coffee shop. I would compare them to mix between cafe intermezzo or chocolate bar and a hookah lounge. They had a Scoutmob offering free coffee, so I thought they were a coffee shop. I have to lower my star rating because I was expecting great coffee. The Therapy Lounge coffee was not terrible but not better than any other coffee chain, and it felt like they expect you to order other items (desserts, hookah, etc.). What I am saying is that this is not the place to get coffee on the go. Since I was there, I decided to also try a dessert. It was good, but I think they come from a bakery, possibly on consignment. We went specifically for the hookah. We tried the Al Fakher guava, which was $18. They also have Starbuzz, which is $21. Our server was attentive and changed our coals without us asking. There's no charge for extra coals. The hookah was great and we had a nice buzz for a while after we left. When we asked for the hookah to be split on separate checks, we were told they couldn't split it. The place is small but comfortable. We sat at one of the booths, and the seats seemed to be just a tiny bit too far from the table. This is mainly a hookah lounge, so it's not the best place to study or read a book! Went here on a weekday afternoon. I saw a group of 4 and two couples there, all smoking hookah. The waitress was quiet but nice. I asked her about the dessert selections, and she took me to the glass display. There weren't many options, but I ended up ordering the Napoleon. The Napoleon has 3-4 puff pastry layers with cheesecake filling in between. It was pretty good (because I love cheesecake), but it didn't taste very fresh. I ordered a black coffee with it, and it tasted alright - better than Starbucks! The waitress gave me a to-go cup and lid instead of a regular cup/saucer, which was strange because I was "dining in." I wonder if she wanted me to leave, haha. I haven't tried their hookah, so I'll be back to try & update my review! read more
