We were in the mood for Thai and working in Smyrna, so I yelped and found this place. It gets good marks for service and cleanliness. The food was really bland. My wife ordered the sea food fried rice and it was rather flavorless. The crab was imitation and the squid was rubbery. I ordered Pad Thai. It was pretty middle of the road. The Tom Yum soup was pretty good. That's the only think I would go back for! Meh.. read more

The location changed. The food quality is the same though it's usually too busy for my preference. Difficult to get a table on the weekends, and funny enough the dining area seems smaller than the last location. We had an event to attend in Smyrna and after reading the reviews decided to try this restaurant. We were not disappointed. We normally dine out for Thai in Murfreesboro or Nashville, but now we have another choice. The seating for such a popular restaurant is a little limited, but not really their fault, the good food and fair prices draw the crowds. We shared an appetizer and rather than a full meal just two smaller entries. They were flavored the way we like (3) and my wife had a (2) and they were great. We'll be back! read more

Thida Thai is a great place to go for a nice, relaxing lunch or dinner. The decor is lovely! The food isn't the best Thai I've had, but it definitely wasn't the worst. The spring rolls are great! We love Thai food and have tried many Thai restaurants. This one is among the best ever!! We ordered crab Rangoon, Tom yum soup, chicken pineapple fried rice, panang curry with chicken/beef/shrimp, and sticky rice w/ mangoes (the best dessert we've ever tasted in a restaurant!!). I tried Pad Thai when I was in California and really enjoyed it. When I came back home and ask for a recommendation, somebody mention Thilda Thai. I came to you guys about a year ago and you are my favorite. I live in Murfreesboro and have tried all the Thai Restaurants there and I have to always come back here. The costumer service in this place is the worst!!, asked for sweet tea, she brought unsweetened tea so we told her if she could replace it for sweet tea, apparently she got mad and give us the attitude, I ordered 2 beef Lo Main, they only brought one, I told them I was missing my order, they took so long that my family finished with their meal and no food yet, so I had to cancel. This is the best Thai that I have ever had. I have never gotten anything here that I didn't love! My favorite dish is the Pad Kee Maow with chicken. They offer spice levels of 1-5. I am a wuss and stick with the 1, but many of my coworkers get up to the 5! I have introduced about 10 people to this restaurant and all of them love it! The only complaint is that there is not a whole lot of seating, so weekend nights can have a wait. read more

This place is SO GOOD. It has to be my favorite Thai restaurant, and probably one of my favorite restaurants in general. The food is fresh, fast, and authentic. I could eat the Calamari Appetizer as a meal by itself. I ordered the chicken jasmine rice with a *3* heat level ( they go 0-5), and it was perfect. My wife and I just visited your restaurant for the first yesterday. We just happened to be in the area, and we were getting gas across the street when my wife just happened to see your restaurant. Our whole family loves Thai food a lot. We moved here to Tennessee just under three years ago, and we have been looking for some excellent Thai food ever since. So far, Thida Thai is by far better than the five or six other Thai restaurants we have been too here in middle Tennessee. The food presentation of the food was excellent, the portion size was excellent, the flavor was excellent. The restaurant atmosphere is pleasant too. I rated our experience a four out of five stars simply because I do not give five star ratings to anyone. I would have given a four and a half, but it will not let me. Also, there is always room for improvement. We formerly lived in the Socialist Republic of Kommiefornia, (SRK), for several years which one of the very few positives about that country is the diversity of authentic cultural foods available. It has spoiled us on finding similar restaurants of each type here in the south. Thida Thai has come close to authentic Thai cuisine, but we also understand these small differences are for the overall customer base in which you serve, and there are some ingredients not available here in the U.S. too. For example, I read a few reviews where customers complained about the spiciness level ratings seem to be pretty weak, and I would agree with that, in general. Of course, we understand the vast majority of your customers do not like and/or tolerate spicy heat well in this region. I, myself, have been to Thailand a couple dozen times or more, so I have had the real deal. It took me a few years just to get up to a three out of five star spicy heat level over there, but it was great. Knowing that, I try three of five to start at new restaurants knowing it is what I call 'a tourist hot level'. In most instances, there is not a lot to it, so that is why I general ask to have the 'heat rack' brought out with my meal. A few recommendations to assist possibly are to maybe have two spice level systems, one for 'tourist/regional residents here', and the other for the people for are insane enough to try anything over three on the 'Native' scale. Or, if having to scales is a little confusing, just ensure your waite staff offer the 'heat rack' to any customer wanting a spicy hot entreé. By-the-way, I did make it to five star hot on the native scale, lol. Also, on dishes having chunks of potato added to them make sure the chunks are to big for a couple reasons; one, there to big to put in your mouth and second, potatoes are notorious for hold heat in which you could end up burning your tongue on, which will kill the taste of the excellent food from there on. Lastly, a lot of your customers are interested not only the food, but the culture around Thailand and Laos. I suggest providing cultural training to your waite staff so they answer basic questions about the very interesting Thai and Laotian cultures. Remember, customer service is what will keep your customers coming back again, and again! We will be back!!! read more

This review is from my visit several months ago, but it is still vivid in my memory. I did not order the pad thai with pork but that is what I received after pointing to what I wanted in the menu and correcting the waitress several times. I just gave in. The pork was burnt, hard to do in a proper stir fry. Found out why a few bites in, the pork had spoiled. My meal was over but the rest of my table was having just as much fun as I. One of my party had ordered the duck, he stated that it tasted like chicken. In no universe should a duck dish taste like chicken. My wife and daughter ordered a dish containing "fresh" crab meat, I don't know if they have changed the menu yet but on my planet canned crab cannot be served as "fresh". Misleading menu, inattentive and incompetent wait staff and the worst food I have been served ever. I will never return to Thida Thai, there are far better Thai restaurants in Smyrna than this. read more

Asian Food is my thing and this is the reason why I give you only 3 star. well I had been on and off thailand for business for over 5 year now love thai food I love pad- kra- pow but when I asking for spicy from here I can not feel it's spicy from fresh chili paper ( surely not fresh jalapeno " IT IS AN THAI FOOD FOR GOD SAKE !! where is the small thai chili paper ?? ) but I feel like it's way to much dry paper that they put in the dish. Service are ok I'm not expect it will be 5 star dinning hotel but at least should be better that 3 star restaurant when it's not busy right ? The place are a little bit small if some big party get in you might feel really clam up heater might not working because I'm still feel way to cold in side or maybe they for get to turn the heart on may ? My family and I love this place! This is our favorite place to dine in. We were here last night, and it was extremely busy and it looked like they were short in staff. One thing I recognized was the people who came to pick up their togo orders were complaining about their order taking too long. I understand that they had to wait a long time for their order, but there's no point of rushing when there was a full house. I believe that they were trying their best to get all the customers their food. I give 5 stars because they put in as much effort as they could to get everything done under all the circumstances.
