Thin Man Brewery in the Chandler Street district is the perfect spot for a happy hour. They also offer a food menu and have some fun games to play at the brewery. I met Dan there after work and we enjoyed a brew (myself a sour and Dan a dark stout). We shared a wood fired pizza (it's Tappo pizza also). The pizzas are delicious and taste like they use the 00 flour from Italy because their so light. You can also grab a 6 pack "to go" from the beer cooler by the door. They've opened a new location in the formerly empty and delapitated Chandler St warehouses off Military between Hertel and Amherst Streets. It's actually a fairly genius location, and it's great to see the area being built up. There's plenty of seating, including many tables out on and open terrace, as well as higher tops, regular, and bar seating inside. They also have a Space Ghost mural on the wall, and really, what more do you need? They have a full beer selection and seem to have paired with Tappo, now offering a full menu of wood fired pizzas and other assorted bar offerings. My insane friend ordered the alla Vodka pizza, pretzel bites, and pulled pork tots for 3 people. SO.MUCH.FOOD. The pizza is fantastic. What a nice brewery...I was very impressed with the size of the place. Depending on the day and time, they have live music and other performances. There's also a few games such as, darts, and skee ball..The beer list is pretty decent. I'm not sure if I over look it. But I would've like a option of a stout or porter. Came here to celebrate a birthday and our group ordered pizzas and beers. The food and drinks were good, but the drink service was slow. To be fair though, it was busy and we were a large group. Also, the waitress said she had to wait for a keg to be refilled, so I guess she withheld everyone's drinks until they were all ready. The pizzas were good but hard to eat. The cheese was sliding off and the toppings weren't spread evenly (there were some slices LOADED with pepperoni, while some had none). The Good: Great Atmosphere in this brewery! It was casual, high industrial ceilings, exposed HVAC, comfy vibes. Large wood tables, lots of seating, several different levels. The staff was awesome, our waitress was attentive and friendly! I came during a bills game, and they passed out free Jell-O shots every time the bills scored. We felt comfortable enough to bring our 10 month old, and enjoyed a great afternoon! The food, from Tappos, is DELICIOUS! My husband and I shared the "Little Anthony" white pizza, which was loaded with chicken sausage, peppers, spinach, and garlic. We got a great Caesar salad, full of romaine, Parmesan, croutons, and chicken! It was filling, hearty food. They do have a full bar! I do not drink beer often, so a nice whiskey coke was great! My husband had a flight and thoroughly enjoyed every single one! The Bad: The building it is situated in a not so great part of town, and the parking was a weird lot in between industrial buildings. Buffalo, New York. It's kind of a rarity getting a craft beet experience from this town but this latest craft beer adventure wasn't a bad one. Thin Man seems to be one of the big breweries for this area coming in with two locations but despite that they got a pretty good handle on craft beer culture. Steve and I had three beers from Thin Man. Overall we felt like it was a positive experience. This outing we got a different beer style for each beer we enjoyed so that gave us some diversity to work with. To start we had the Tension Breaker Pilsner. Not a bad pilsner. It had a clean, crisp flavor to it with a hint of clove to the flavor profile which wasn't bad. Perhaps not my favorite of the three but still a good beer to drink. The next beer was the Minky Boodle. This was a sour beer that I had early on before I got "soured out" with having so many in short proximity because I feel like this beer style where a little bit goes a long ways. But I stlll tell myself this was one of the better sours I've had. With raspberries being the featured fruit for this sour Steve and I both enjoyed and didn't get tired out with ut. This was my favorite out of the three. The final beer was the Bru-One. This was a pretty solid New England IPA in which the bitterness played well with the rest of the beer. I tend to be pickly with New England IPA's but this one was one of the better ones that I have ventured across. Our niece's wedding reception was held in their 2nd floor space and everything was beautiful. The wait staff was on point with drinks, water replacement, dish clearing, etc. The food was all delicious, from charcuterie to the buffet dishes served of rolls, salad, roasted root veggies, mashed potatoes, chicken Milanese and ribs with pasta. I stopped in with my fiance and bestfriend last night for some pizza and beers after leaving a Yelp event. This was my first time experiencing this Thin Man location so I was really excited walking in. The girl that greeted us and explained how to order was super friendly. The bartender, however, was not. She seemed to be performing her job in the least efficient manner either on purpose or to drive her customers mad. She would take one order at a time, pour that beer, set the beer down, take another order, pour that beer, set it down, and THEN give the first poured beer to the person who ordered it. She continued to do this all night and we couldn't tell if she hated us or really just did not understand efficiency or serving her customers in the order they arrived at the bar. It was dead there too so it was really odd that she was serving us so slowly and in such an odd fashion. The place itself is very large, with options to play darts and ski ball (an awesome bonus!) and tvs all around. The food menu is from Tappo, which I really appreciated because I'm actually not a huge fan of Thin Man's food at their Elmwood location. Tappos food is much better. We opted for the chori fries (huge and delicious!), The Hollywood John and the BBQ chicken pizza. Everything was delicious but the Hollywood John was definitely the highlight. We also got a few flights and beers and all of the beers were pretty good. My favorite still remains as minkey boodle. The nice thing about their flights is you can order as many samples as you want for the flight. Overall, a decent experience and would definitely come back. read more

Great beer, great food, great vibe. Located off the beaten path of the elmwood strip it's a unique spot with vibrant murals inside and out. They have an outdoor patio that I believe has igloos for winter weather, but if you're dining inside, the bar has a very open, modern aesthetic. If you're looking to book events here, they also have a space on the second floor that can accommodate parties as large as a wedding. We wanted to go to a place that had a good vibe with a decent amount of crowd, and a place which would be ready to serve us a good Margarita Pizza! Thin Man Brewery at Chandler street shares its space with Tappo Pizza and I would say it's a pretty effective combination. We arrived just when the band was about to start its performance. We could not get a table however, but luckily there was space for us at the bar! We ordered the Margarita Pizza with pepper toppings and it was pretty good. Amazing food!!! I just cannot say how much this place has improved! Every time we come here it seems to be better than the time before! Hand cut fries, Brussel sprouts with balasamic and a chicken parm sub. All excellent but the sprouts!!!! Killer! Goat cheese and balsamic goodness! This was my second time visiting the restaurant. I went at around 7 PM on a Tuesday. I want to say there was only three or four different parties there at that time. It was very quiet, and service was quick. Food is good, drinks were great, the service was great. I love their menu and the fact that they have a variety of cocktails, wines and beers. A fun space in a unique location. I stopped her and got the chicken sandwich/beer combo. It's a great deal and perfect for a casual night out. There was live music which was fun and the overall atmosphere was fun and laid back. There are some arcade style games but I'm uncertain if they are open yet with COVID. Stopped in for St Patrick's day, right when they opened up at 4pm. We the first only ones there for about a half hr and never got crowded due to Covid .. but what a great time. Not completely in love with this location, but huge space and cool atmosphere. Bartenders are super friendly and engaging. Beer is excellent. Love the food colab with Tappo wildfire pizzas on site. One of my FAV place for nachos, they've got it down packed. Not too many places can perfect the craft of the perfect nacho but Thin Man has. Actually how does he stay so thin with the beer cheese and all? I thoroughly enjoy coming here and ordering the massive nacho platter all to myself. From the beer cheese, the perfectly crisp tortillas, the guacamole, to the fresh pico de gallo and pickled onion. It's def a party in your mouth. The atmosphere is always great. Wife,little peanut and I were spending the day at the fashion outlets in Niagara Falls and decided to stop in on our ride home. We were greeted quickly by the host and she sat us in a nice private table. There was plenty of TVs for the BILLS game! Every seat had a good view. We ordered a white pizza (I forget the name) but it had chicken sausage spinach and friend got peppers on it. We went with the peppers. I swear the pizza was out even before she ran back and told them what we wanted. Lol so fast! We also got the chicken Ceaser salad. The pizza and the salad were amazing perfect bar food. As for drinks I ordered a flight of 6 all were great! Some better than others but all were great! They even had liquor. Non beer drinking wifey was happy about that. Beer was good, once we finally got served. Came in on a Friday, they didn't seem overly busy and had plenty of staff. Once our group got to our table it was probably 10-15 minutes before anyone took our order. Then the pizzas started coming out before the beer. Even if that style pizza cooks really fast it shouldn't have come out sooner than the beer. Luckily subsequent beer orders while we were eating came out faster. The pizza and wings were both good. Had the hot wings and they had a good amount of heat, but not over powering. The pizza tasted great but had some functional issues. It was over sauced and the cheese didn't make contact with the non sauced edge crust. When picking up a slice the end drooped down and the cheese and pepperoni slid off. That was one of the first things I learned when I worked in a pizza place, you need to have cheese lock. I'll go back, but I'll probably skip the pizza, or eat it with a knife and fork. read more

First I want to say that I LOVE the new location! Hate going to Elmwood for anything! The combination of Tappo and Thinman is like chocolate and peanut butter for me. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because I think the B team was making the pizzas when we were there. The cheese on the pizza was not melted at all. You could literally picked up the slice of mozzarella and toss it across the room. I'm taking this an anomaly because my other visits have been perfect. I met some friends here last weekend and was surprised how nice it was! This location is much bigger and more open than the thinman on elmwood. They have a large selection of beers on tap, along with a large menu featuring tappo pizza and apps. We ordered a pizza with pepperoni and pretzels and cheese, they were delicious. There is a separate kiosk for food ordering which was convenient. You then get a text when your food is ready. The tables are first come first serve, but the venue is huge so I don't see seating being a problem. They also have skeeball and darts! Pros: pizza, skeeball, darts, open and big venue for groups , convenient ordering and seating, patio open in the summer Cons: the parking was a little hard to come across, location is kind of in the middle of nowhere but in an up and coming area ( blackbird cider right across the street). I will definitely be coming back in the summer to check out the patio with friends. I heard there graffiti/art decor that I have yet to checkout. read more

The new Thin Man brewery on Chandler is a real gem in a rebuilding neighborhood. This place has everything you could ever want in a refurbished warehouse turned brewery. It's huge, spacious, has wall to wall graffiti art, fun games to play, multiple bars, outdoor seating, some of buffalo's best beer, and of course.. great pizza! I'm really looking forward to what the future has in store for the "Chandlerville" area but no matter what they do, this brewery will likely remain the centerpiece. read more

I think my issue was I went during the Bills game and it was crazy packed. Thin Man and Tappo share this space, which is great in theory, letting you get delicious wood fired pizza and beer all in one spot. The wall murals are fun and pithy, drawing on cartoon styles of graffiti and pop culture. The space is warehouse chic, and I do love a good skeeball game. Were it not for the crowds I could see this being high on my list of fun nights out. Obviously I'm pleased for them that it is this popular, but it's not for me or fast service during big events. I'd say check the schedule unless you're a lover of crowds. read more

We came here a couple months ago and sat on the patio. This place is definitely my vibe, I love the industrial decor and the skee ball machines. The reason I rated it three stars is the pizza. I was excited to try the wood fired pizza and that was the main reason we went there. I don't remember what I ordered but it was charred on the bottom and left black chalky residue all over my plate. I have had wood fired pizza before at Blaze, PI craft, Jays pizza, etc but was really disappointed in the pizza. Hopefully it was just a fluke and I probably should have said something to them but I don't like to complain. read more

This is a wonderful space and a great addition to Buffalo's destination bar landscape. A few gripes (that can be easily fixed): 1. The pizza sucks. It's stodgy, boring, run-of-the-mill wood fired stuff. The owners need to take a trip to Jay's in Kenmore, 2 Amy's in DC or Pizza Libretto in Toronto and massively step up their game. No one is going to want to go there for the pizza. It's not enough to do wood fired any more - Neapolitan is the way to go! 2. The separate ordering system is annoying. 3. The beer menu is limited. It needs to have everything the other location of Thin Man has or more. Also, it's painful to be sitting at a Thin Man bar and not be eating their famous bacon nubs. read more

I came to check out the new location, I think its great. Its in an odd part of town that i have never been too before, there is plenty of parking. This is a very large building with a patio. The beers are great, service was great as well. Our bartender Marcus was very knowledgeable about all the beers etc. They will put in your food order for you if you are at the bar, otherwise you will be going to the kiosk and putting it in yourself. They also have fuse-ball, ski-ball and darts. A cool place to come and grab a pizza, i had one with vodka sauce and sausage, it was awesome! read more

Drinks obviously include Thin Man beers, but also feature BlackBird cider which is located directly across the street. This place is not for the likes of me. Like most places that go with the bare concrete industrial look, it's LOUD. We retreated to the side patio so we could hear each other. We had the traditional Margherita pizza, which was very good, but I don't really like the order-at-the-counter "service" style that's so popular now. I don't like going into a restaurant and having to ask "how does this work?" And finally, I really don't care for the fruit-flavored beers Thin Man specializes in. I feel a good beer doesn't need to be doctored up with fruit flavors. The onion wings were the highlight. read more
