It's literally an engraving store and had multiple employees tell me each item that I had brought up to the counter couldn't be engraved. They own cheap engraving machines and can't fulfill people's wants because their machine can't do shit. Never going back here again. read more

I read a few 1 star reviews (down below) for Things Remembered and was hesitant about doing business here today. I sat in the mall parking lot dreading the awful experience. What I needed, they had, so I had to gather up the courage to proceed. I was greeted by a gal named Tudera. I probably spelled her name wrong. She was very very helpful and pleasant. I spent $120 in this store. I told her that I was afraid I would be disappointed in my experience there, but she reassured me that she would take care of me. I had 2 items engraved and was ecstatic at the end result. I was told to come back at 8 pm. My items were ready when I walked in. Olivia helped wrap everything. She was also very nice. I will be returning in the future. Prices are somewhat on the pricey side but I caught a sale and was pleased. Thank you Ladies! read more

We needed to get an engraved toasting glass, that had been damaged, replaced and I wanted to get a knife engraved as a gift for my son. My wife and I came to Things Remembered at the Temecula Mall. We were greeted by Amy who seemed to go out of her way to ensure that all of our needs were met. Her cheerful attitude and creative talents made for a great experience. We were extremely pleased with the engraving on the knife. So much so, that we went home to get another item, that I wanted to give to my son, and had it engraved as well. Second time visiting the store to purchase some items and engrave words on them. They're very professional and complete items within timely matter. They do send you a text message when items are being ready to be picked up. I definitely will shop here again. Just a note that they could be more organized! Things Remembered is a great place to get custom gifts like pens, frames, snow globes, and so much more engraved to have it say what you want it to say. Only down side is that at $3 a word, it can start to get a little pricey depending on how much you want it to say, so keep it short if you can. Store is a little small, so it's definitely a little crammed right during the holidays. So this place did amazing. We ended up in a bit of a pickle, and they came through with flying colors! Long story short - tried to go through the corporate business side via phone/email, and they dropped the ball. HARD. Like, completely killed any chance of me EVER going through them again. So, I took a last-minute shot (since corporate business side of things left me hanging), and this place delivered! ***SIDE NOTE*** These people are severely overworked, and probably underpaid. I spent some time in the store with them (waiting for my engraving to finish) and got to talking. They work long hours to make sure that things get done, so BE PATIENT! Machines can only go so fast, and people can only do what they can do to manage the flow of orders. Amy & Stacy were more than accommodating, and did everything they could to not only get my item delivered ASAP from their warehouse, but also went above and beyond to get my custom corporate logo (which again, the corporate business logo people dropped the ball on) engraved on a glass piece in time for me to present it to the honored staff member! Really, I can't say enough good things about the crew at this location! DEFINITELY would recommend for the future! As for the corporate side, DON'T BOTHER! I've never poster a negative review before but after the hassle I went through, I want others to not waste their time and money on products from this store. I ordered 3 items and all three items had to be redone. They were off center and slanted. When I came to pick up the redo, two of the items still looked bad. I had them add the last name to a pen/pencil Set, but the last name did not come after the first name. It was backwards on the other side of the pen! I mean, really?? Did they even review the work they had done? I was really excited about these gifts, now I have to figure something else out this last week before Christmas. Was in store to pick out gift for a holiday gift. Store advertised engraving ( what store is known for). Over the past years I have bought and had engraved multiple items from here. Every item I picked out the girls working there told me each item could not be engraved. Literally on the box in their store the item says ENGRAVED. Girls were very rude and dismissive. I am somewhat surprised that these stores have so a low Yelp rating. Over the past couple of years I have used them about a half dozen times - mostly the one in Temecula. But I have also had good experiences at the one in Mission Valley. We've purchased personalized gifts for graduations, baptisms, and engagements. My favorite one was a couple of beer glasses for the engagement: his had a black handlebar mustache and was engraved "Mr. H.....", and hers had red luscious lips on it and said "Mrs. H....! Recently we attended a baptism for their little boy (yes, we brought him an engraved bank) and the wife made it a point to show me the beer glasses in a place of honor in the cabinet. Very satisfying! Today I went online and found that they have coupons and that you can order and save a few dollars! So I ordered - it was relatively easy - saved $10. They sent me a email when the gift was ready, I drove over, picked it, no problems. They are not cheap, but I believe that the value is there. For both the quality of the goods, and the speed with the way system works. I love giving gifts that will outlive me and that will provide a special memory to the recipients. read more

We were greeted promptly, and our order was taken quickly, unfortunately that's where the "good" ended. The font on our product didn't match what we picked, and the only explanation given was "material discrepancy". The font was so thinly etched on it was nearly unreadable unless held at such an angle that the light reflects off. No fix was offered other than "you can buy a new pendant in store and purchase another engraving". It's been 18 yrs since our first less then satisfactory experience at a Things Remembered, and this will likely be our last. read more

Yesterday (9-24-17-Sunday ) I went in with my Fiancé to see what the deal they got. As we walk in a sale rep greeted us (I do not know her name) with what the sale was and quickly we found two items that we wanted to purchase since it was buy one get the second item for 75%. The two items needed to be engrave and she had me filled out the form and told us that it should take about 1 hour. Then I asked if we need to pay first. She said yes or after, I told her once she was done with the paper I can pay her after she was done. While I was still browsing around the store, she was greeted by another customer and had help them. I figured she was done with us so as I walked out the store And say, we'll be back! We had walked around the mall to kill some times and a hour passed we went back to pick up the stuff. Not did it was not ready, she told us we needed to pay it first before they can work on it! What I don't get is that why didn't she call me ??? My phone number is on the paper! She could have call us and told us it needed to be pay first before they work on it! My fiancé decided that he did not want the two items! He was pissed and I was pissed! All that time should could have call us to go back and pay. So it's Christmas Eve and we ordered a cup for my husband yesterday and had it engraved. Picked it up today and went and sat down in the foot court and waited. Guess what......my son, 11, left the present in the food court. Of course it wasn't turned in anywhere so I took a chance on getting another one engraved with only 3 hours left in the day. At first they said no, and I was totally ok with that. They are clearly busy. But as we were leaving they said they would do it for us. Boy did it make my son's Christmas. So let me start by saying that I hate leaving bad reviews. I work for my family's business and understand how important it is to keep your customers(or in our case patients) happy. This was not the case with my experience at things remembered. I ordered a couple of gifts online and chose what would be engraved and pre paid so that I would just have to go into the store to pick up the gifts. I ordered the gifts about 1:00pm on a Friday and the website stated my gifts would be ready for pick up at 5:00pm. I got a notification about 5:30 pm that my items were ready and got to the mall around 7:00pm. After waiting in line for about 15 minutes, I was greeted by a half smile...not even a hello. Since she didn't say a word I just told her that I was picking up and gave her my last name. She walked into the back and about 30 seconds later came back to tell me my items were not ready. I was extremely irritated and explained to her that I got the notification and pre paid for my items. She IGNORED me and said "next in line please" I asked her if she heard me and she said "yeah but they aren't ready". I asked her when I should come back and she said an hour. So I did a little more shopping at the mall and came back an hour later. This time I asked to speak to the manager first. The manager came out and when I stated my name three employees started looking for my gifts. After standing there for 25 minutes while they rummaged through orders, I was told that they could not find mine. I almost lost it at this point. Not one person even apologized or looked sorry in the least bit. I again stated that my order was pre paid and asked nicely if they could keep looking. Finally about 10 minutes later an employee came to the front with my bag and said "is this what you guys are looking for? It was done about 5:30" I couldn't believe it. It was almost 9:00pm and I waited all that time and was treated poorly for nothing? For laziness? The woman then showed me my gifts, which I am very pleased with and I went in my way. I love the products and the way you can personalize gifts here, but they really need to be more organized and more professional. read more

WORST customer service I have ever experienced. Assistant manager was yelling throughout the store to employees, and could care less about the customers. The associate that helped us was apparently misinformed about pricing and when brought to the assistant managers attention her response was "Well I know the prices and they aren't going to change." No sympathy or apology for the misleading information from her staff. I should have cancled my order and went to an alternate location where management properly trained their associates. So dissapointing to have such a nice store with beautiful products be ruined by someone with such horrible attitude. I will NEVER return to that location. read more

Last night, I ordered an engraved frame for my son who is graduating 8th grade in a couple of weeks. I didn't pay enough attention to the details and never selected the option of shipping. After the order was paid and done, I noticed it had a pick up date of today. I'm over an hour away. After calling the main TR number listed on the confirmation, and getting through to a voicemail that was full and unable to accept messages, I thought I was out of luck. I looked up the store and found a local number. I called and left a message, hoping somebody would call back, but nervous because who knows how many people are even working during this crazy time. This morning, they called back. I believe he said his name was Brian. He told me it was no problem to ship it and I should have it in a week if ground shipping was ok. He didn't even charge me! I have been to the store once to place my order the next time to find out that everything was OK with getting the ornament that was out of stock. I was assured she was going to order it from another store and would call me in a few days. I got busy around the holidays and I'm flying out tomorrow at 6:15 in the morning I've yet to receive a call from them and apparently their phone line is a faxline. So I'm forced to drive down there for my full refund because I'm not paying for it at this point. Will never buy an engraved item again from this place. read more

I, too, am surprised about the low Yelp rating so I decided to write one! Been ordering gifts for our corporate Christmas Party for 4 years now and they have always met my deadline with only a week or so notice. These have been relatively large orders and I have been 100 percent satisfied with the quality of the product and the engraving. The only thing I would suggest is that they use a larger font on some of their products, especially when it seems there is a lot of extra engraving space. Other than that, they are courteous, professional, thorough and organized even under the pressure of a Christmas rush. Highly recommend them for high quality, personalized gifts. read more

I waited in line for 10 minutes, then when I finally got to the cashier, I was told to go to a different counter to fill out a work order before paying. The person who helped me with the work order suggested a font that was black because she said it would show up better on the coffee mug I selected. Then I had to go back to the other line to pay. When I went to pick it up, you could barely see the engraving. I told them it was supposed to be black and they told me that they don't put black on that type of item. I'm not sure why the associate who filled out my work order told me it would be black. Then, I picked out a different font which showed up better than the original. My daughter gave the mug to her grandma for Christmas. When she took it out of the box, the engraved plate fell off. A $30 mug and a lot of aggravation. I guess I'll be heading back there one last time, but never again after that. read more

Things Remembered at the Promenade Mall in Temecula gets the best possible rating from me first and foremost for the customer service I received from their employee Amy Cade. Amy went above and beyond to help me with a very sentimental gift for my mother and she did it with such kindness and grace. I went in yesterday to order a glass cube with my late-Fathers photo etched inside which then sits on a lighted base. I had no idea how this would hit me so emotionally as I explained to Amy the meaning behind this gift. I held it together (barely),but the worst part was that I didn't know I needed to scan my Dad's pic to my computer and email it to the company with my order request. Amy quickly sensed my disappointment at the thought of going home without this ordered and offered to scan the pic and send to her own Home Computer and complete my order from her home that evening. I was so touched by her kind and thoughtful gesture which has definitely made me want to return. She's also so good at what she does that she sold me a Beautiful Snow Globe and a wooden family wall plaque for photos! I'm excited to receive them as soon as the engraving is complete. I think the items sold in Things Remembered are of really nice quality and perfect gifts for those special people in your life. At this time of the year when customers are so busy getting the items on their list they often don't think to thank those hard working employees that helped them complete their task. Pissed off! I put in my order yesterday to pick up today. I go there to pick up my item which was a gift for grandma only to see that whoever engraved the snow globe did it wrong. So they redid it for me took about 15 minutes okay whatever. The redo she did for me was STILL wrong! How the heck do you screw up something that is written on paper right in front of you!? I'll admit I didn't look closely at it because I was in a hurry. I took the snow globe wrapped it for gma & didn't realize it wrong until she opened her gift!! So pissed off so annoyed. I ordered a wedding album here. Haven't been in the store awhile. When I first walked in, I knew it was different then the past. Shelves uncleaned, help nonresponsive. I had a wedding to go to and ordered the album with script. I said I would pick up the next day. They called me twice to get the name straight. Ok, first time I explained all. Next morning before the pick up, they called yet again, asking me the same info. The woman wouldn't stop talking over me. Gave her a second repeat of the night before. At the time I was on the way to pick it up for the wedding that afternoon, they call and ask me again. I go through the process AGAIN. Then, as I'm there ready to pick up, they call and tell me they dented the album. Wedding in 10 hours. No back up. I tell her try another store, Brea, near the wedding. They tell me everything will be transferred. 30 minutes before the wedding, I detour to pick up, call Brea store, they tell me they never got the order. No gift...48 hours after paid and ordered. Brea store moves fast to create the gift. I pick up. Cant give at wedding. Late to wedding. Save gift for mailing. Thanks to Temecula store. Then next day, go to Temecula store to pick up father's day gift. Now two days later, and that not done. Manager Renee is hostile and non-responsive. She calls employee who says its done, but it wasn't. Start all over again. Parents say we missed our restaurant reservation and turn back, don't come. Do for another day. Ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous. Blew up the wedding...no gift. They didn't fax the order, surprise surprise. Didn't do the father's day engraving...waited to have it re-done to the extent that I missed our reservation. What has happened to this store? They don't care, have no clue of customer service and it was only when I told the manager, Renee, that I was going to corporate--which I haven't done in 15 years, that she began to back track and apologize. Unacceptable. The problem is not the employees, but the manager. Don't rely on this place to get something done. Its all about them, no you, the customer. Crazy experience, I would never go back to this Temecula address. The other store are clean and responsive, and Brea store to great care to make it happen..just not in time. Disgusting experience, and I don't know whose worse, Renee the manager or Lucia the employee who put first and foremost themselves. The next generation... Unacceptable. Despite all the time to get the gifts done, I didn't have the planned wedding gift, which I had to send after the fact by mail, and I didn't give the father's day gift, because I was so delayed by their ineptness, my parents had to cancel because our venue closed. We are now celebrating Father's Day next weekend to accommodate Thing Remembered. Brings new meaning to Things Remembered. Beware. Worst manager ever. read more

The most AWFUL customer service and the products are cheap and overpriced. I ordered my husband a football mug from here for Father's Day. When I came to pick it up they opened the box and it was a completely different football team. The clerk offered no apology and the manager on duty would not even come out from the back and talk to me. They told me I was unable to get a refund and they would have a new one the following day. When I explained that I drove 45 minutes to pick up the gift and I would not be returning the following day suddenly the "manager" said she would have one for me in 45 minutes. I don't know what kind of shop they're running, but I would never give them my business again. When I went to pick up the mug the part that was engraved had a scratch in it. I should have refused the damaged product , but with Father's Day the following day I didn't want to be left without a gift. The young girls working in this store could care less about the customers and it shows. I had a horrible experience from start to finish. I should have walked away in the beginning when the girl taking my order was more than rude. I'm not sure if these are corporate stores or franchise, but I would not trust them to make anything for a special occasion. They should be out of business!! read more
